T59: Brooklyn To The Rescue.
"Oh, my gosh." Will said. If that was his step-Dad inside that plane, it was over for all of them. Especially Todd.
The plane flew over the gang's heads and they turned to see it land on the ground a few feet away from them and the pilot turned it off.
Will got off the Moose on the right and the others braced themselves for defense to protect Todd and Will from whoever was inside that plane. They watched as the pilot door opened, ready to fight if they had to. But instead of the sheriff or a police officer exiting the plane, Brooklyn did, followed by closing the door.
"Surprise!" Brooklyn said.
"Brooklyn? What are you doing here? How'd you know where to find us?" Cameron asked, confused.
"I got the text." Brooklyn answered.
"What text? What are you talking about?" Rocco asked, confused.
"I texted Brooklyn and told her where we were headed when you were all sleeping." Leo confessed as everyone looked at him.
"What?!" Cameron, Rocco and Will said.
"What'd you do that for?!" Cameron demanded.
"My Mom says to always let an adult know where you are." Leo answered.
"Not when you've run away from home!" Will said.
"Mom says no acceptions. Besides, Brooklyn's my sister. She would never rat us out to the cops, right?" Leo said before the rest of the group turned their attention back to Brooklyn.
"That's why i'm here. To warn you. The sheriff is on his way here right now to stop you." Brooklyn said.
"What? How did he find out where we were? You didn't say anything did you?" Leo asked.
"I didn't have to. He found the text message you sent me in my phone that revealed where you guys were headed. And he's on his way up here right now as we speak." Brooklyn said.
"Oops." Leo said.
"Nice goin', Leo." Rocco said to Leo sarcastically.
"Yeah, way to go, Goofy." Cameron added, also sarcastic.
"Well, i guess that's it for the fox village." Will said.
"You must be Will Manning. And that must be your pet fox, Todd. Nice to meet you, i'm Brooklyn. Leo's half-sister and Cameron and Rocco's cousin. I take it you're the friend in need of help?"
"That's right." Will said.
"And Todd's the life in need of saving?" Brooklyn asked.
"Right again. You see, Will has run away from home to save Todd from being killed and cooked for Thanksgiving dinner by his step-Dad, the sheriff. So we came up here to the mountains with him to drop Todd off at his new home, the Fox Haven." Cameron said.
"That's all?" Brooklyn asked.
"That's all." Cameron said.
"Well...let's not waste anymore time chit-chatting amongst ourselves. Let's hop in the plane and get that fox to that village." Brooklyn said.
"You mean you'll help us?" Will asked, surprised.
"Yeah, count me in." Brooklyn said.
"Since when do you know how to fly a plane?" Leo asked.
"Sice now. Now come on, guys. I know it's gonna be hard to say goodbye to Todd and then Will. I don't wanna say goodbye to them either, but...the last thing we need is for the sheriff to show up here and see us with the both of them. Come on." Brooklyn said.
