Chapter 9: The Seal Unleashed

The Grand Inquisitor's sudden and brutal intervention left a chilling silence in the penthouse. Dust motes swirled in the air, illuminated by the lingering violet glow from Missy's arrival. The Lancers, Moon Shadow, and Riley stood frozen, the shock of witnessing such swift and merciless violence still gripping them. Even Declan Akaba, usually composed, looked momentarily stunned.

Su Wan, however, seemed to be in a world of his own. His eyes, which had been dull with exhaustion, now burned with an eerie green light. A faint energy pulsed around him, making the air shimmer. He swayed slightly, as if caught in a waking dream.

"Su Wan?" Li Cu reached out, his voice filled with concern. "Are you alright?"

Su Wan didn't seem to hear him. His gaze was fixed on a point in the distance, his lips moving silently. Then, his voice, raspy and filled with a strange power, echoed through the room.

"Alister… Mother… Father…"

A collective gasp swept through the room. The Lancers exchanged confused glances. Li Cu's eyes widened in recognition.

"The Seal…" he whispered, his voice barely audible. "The Seal of Orichalcos… it's awakening."

The Grand Inquisitor, who had been standing amidst the wreckage of the virtual cityscape, took a step back. A flicker of something that might have been caution crossed his masked face. He seemed to sense the immense power radiating from Su Wan. He leaned back against a holographic wall, observing the unfolding events with an unnerving stillness.

Missy, however, remained unfazed. Her cold gaze swept over the gathered group, a cruel smile twisting her lips.

"It seems things have become… more interesting," she said, her voice laced with anticipation. "But our objective remains. And I will not be deterred."

She stepped forward, her duel disk activating with a snap. The air around her shimmered with dark energy.

"I am Missy," she announced, her voice echoing through the room, "one of the elite of Duel Academy, and I wield the power of the Insect Kingdom!"

Su Wan, still radiating that strange green energy, finally seemed to snap out of his trance. He blinked, his eyes focusing on Missy.

"I… I can't fight alone," he said, his voice weak but resolute. "Could I… could I have a helper?"

Before anyone could react, Yuya Sakaki stepped forward, his eyes blazing with determination.

"I'll fight with you, Su Wan!" he declared, his voice ringing with conviction. "I will protect him!"

Missy's smile widened, her eyes gleaming with malicious glee.

"Excellent," she hissed. "So, the second objective is here as well. That's right… we have a mission to card Yuya Sakaki… and capture Declan Akaba."

She spread her arms wide, gesturing to the battlefield.

"The same rules apply as before," she said, "but since this is a 2-on-1 duel, we will have 8000 Life Points each."

Yuya Sakaki and Su Wan: 8000 LP

Su Wan swayed slightly, but his voice was firm.

"Ladies first," he said, gesturing to Missy.

"Action Field, Activate!" Declan Akaba commanded, and the virtual cityscape of the Castle of Chaos dissolved, replaced by a treacherous, swaying structure of wooden planks and crashing waves – the Pier of Peril.

Missy's laughter echoed through the air, sharp and chilling.

"And to make things even more… challenging," she added, "you cannot attack until after Yuya's next turn. So, after my turn, it will be Su Wan, then Yuya, then me, and then we can attack."

She drew her cards with a flourish.

"I set one monster," she announced, placing a card face-down. (Parasite Paracide) "And pass."

The wind howled around the Pier of Peril, and the cries of gulls echoed in the distance.

Su Wan drew his cards, his gaze flickering between Missy and Yuya.

"I start with this play," he declared, summoning a monster. "I summon Beetron 2-Beetleturbo in Defense Mode!"

(Beetron 2-Beetleturbo: ATK 1500 / DEF 1800)

He set a card and passed.

Missy drew her card, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Now then, I activate the Field Spell, Forest!" The Pier of Peril transformed into a dense, shadowy forest, the air thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves.

Just as the transformation completed, Su Wan, with a surprising burst of speed, leapt onto a swaying branch and grabbed an Action Card. (High Dive)

"Now then," Missy continued, her voice sharp, "I flip summon Parasite Paracide!"

"And now I go to your deck, boy," Missy said.

"Now then, I summon Ancient Gear Hunting Hound in Defense Mode!"

Yuya drew his cards, his expression determined.

"My turn!" he announced. "I summon Performapal Skeeter Skimmer in Attack Mode!"

"And the Forest Field Spell boosts Skeeter Skimmer!"

Yuya passed his turn.

Missy drew her card.

"I activate the Spell Card Ancient Gear Drill!" she declared, discarding a card. "I discard Insect Barrier to set a Spell Card from my deck! I select Reckless Parasite!"

She set the card face-down.

"Now then, I summon another Ancient Gear Hunting Hound!"

(Ancient Gear Hunting Hound: ATK 1000 / DEF 1000)

"Hound's effect activates! Inflict 600 damage!"

(Yuya Sakaki and Su Wan: 8000 7400 LP)

(Missy: 8000 LP)

"Now, I use my two Hunting Hounds to perform a Fusion Summon! Come forth, Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound!"

A larger, more menacing mechanical hound appeared on the field.

Missy ended her turn.

Su Wan drew his card, his eyes scanning the field.

"I summon Beetron 1-Beetletop!"

"Now, I union my other Beetron 2 to Beetletop!"

"Now, my Hound places a Gear Counter onto Beetletop!"

(Beetron 1-Beetletop: ATK 1700 2100 / DEF 1300 1700)

"Now then, my Skeeter Skimmer attacks!" Yuya declared, pointing at Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound.

"It's weak," Missy scoffed.

"But not without High Dive!" Su Wan shouted, activating the Action Card he had grabbed earlier.

Before the attack could land, Missy grabbed an Action Card of her own. (No Action)

Skeeter Skimmer's attack went through, and Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound was destroyed.

"Beetletop attack directly!" Su Wan commanded.

"Now I end."

Missy drew.

"I activate my face-down Spell Card, Reckless Parasite!" she declared. "And Special Summon Parasite Paracide from your deck! With these Parasite Tokens equipped, you cannot Tribute Summon, and now your monsters are Insects!"

Yuya drew.

"Now, I unequip my monsters to Overlay my 2 Beetltron into Xyz Summon! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!"

"Now, I set one card and then attack directly!" Yuya yelled. "Dark Rebellion and Skeeter Skimmer attack!"

(Missy: 5900 4500 LP)

Missy drew.

"And now, I set one card and summon Fusion Parasite in Defense Mode!"

(Fusion Parasite: ATK 800 / DEF 1200)

Missy ended her turn.

Su Wan drew. His eyes glowed with an intense green light.

"I activate… the Seal of Orichalcos!" he declared, his voice filled with an otherworldly power.

A massive glyph appeared on the field, and a swirling vortex of green energy enveloped Missy.

"And now… my monster will win this duel!"

But before the Seal could fully activate, Missy vanished in another violet flash, leaving behind only the lingering scent of ozone and a chilling parting shot.

"Kiler… Kill Li Cu… in a Turbo Duel!"
