(AN: Woooo, two chapters in one day! Also, to answer the last chapter's question, the Sasuke Retrivel Arc is all well and good, but honestly, I much prefer the Chunin Exam or even the Star Village Arc. Those were pretty fun!)
Nanashi slammed through the hospital doors, glaring at anyone and everyone who looked her way. With a burst of wind, her clone appeared beside her, Sasuke in hand. "Which room is he in?" She asked the girl, Fujiko.
"107."
Nanashi frowned. "I thought you said he was seriously injured? They'd have him on the second floor in ICU." She watched as the kid wrung her hands, staring at the ground. With a sigh, she said, "Lead the way."
"Don't we need to check in?"
She simply waved to the clone to move and ushered Fujiko down the opposite hallway. "Nothing a clone and liberal use of Genjutsu won't fix."
"Isn't that illegal?" She whispered.
"Semantics," Nanashi muttered. They made their way to the room, where they saw a boy sitting outside on a bench.
"Isamu!"
"Fuji!" As the girl skipped toward the boy, she threw her arms around him in an embrace.
"So, can someone tell me what exactly happened?" Nanashi stepped up to the two as Sasuke trailed behind. "All you said was that he was injured."
The two shared a look, and while the boy looked away, the girl shuffled her feet and, once more, wrung her hands together furiously.
Nanashi stooped low and locked eyes with the girl. "Well?"
"Naruto didn't want us to say..." She muttered.
"Fuji!" The boy hissed.
"Shouldn't we tell her what happened? Isn't she a clan leader? Maybe she can say something! This isn't fair in the first place, but what he did to Naruto-san—"
"Who did what to Naruto? Was this not a training accident? Where's your sensei anyhow. Is he in the room?"
More hand-wringing from Fujiko only served to anger Nanashi. But before she could snap—"Please... He's like my little brother." Sasuke spoke up, shocking the woman. "Just tell us what happened?"
And so they heard the tail of how Naruto went toe-to-toe with the Jonin. Or at least that's what it looked like to the two kids. Akami certainly held back, at least until that last-ditch action. While Nanashi grew angrier by the second, she also couldn't help but wonder about the name. Why did Akami sound so familiar?
"The doctor's in there now... I'm not sure why they didn't send him to the ICU. He was coughing up blood really bad, and—and—"
Nanashi moved past the kids and shouldered her way through the door. She instantly pushed a palm out, pushing aside the ANBU that came to meet her. Then, she swept into the room with Sasuke darting past toward the only occupied bed.
Naruto lay on his side, clutching at his chest and breathing deeply into an oxygen mask. A doctor stood nearby, writing on a notepad. "I said no visitors for the time being."
"As the kid's Guardian and a trained Med-Nin, I think I can come in whenever. Right?" Nanashi stole the doctor's notepad, flitting through it as the man barked at her. "Quiet down. I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with the brat and why he isn't in the ICU."
"You know why we didn't send him there." The doctor huffed.
"Oh? Enlighten me then." She frowned at the paperwork. "Judging from these injuries, he should be there under constant care. Five broken ribs, a possible punctured lung, pinky and ring finger shattered, wrist broken, broken arm at the elbow, I mean, come on. This is serious damage. And by a Jonin of all people. He should be guarded as well while that useless bastard is dragged in front of the Hokage. No offense to our ANBU friend here, but I got in here easily enough, didn't I?"
"You are a member of the Council—"
"and that means I can just walk in wherever I want?"
"So, should I remove you?" The ANBU asked.
"Awww, it would be cute if you tried." She gave the young man a pitying look before returning to the doctor. "Now explain why he's not in the ICU."
He rolled his eyes, "His—His regeneration... skill." the man said. "He doesn't need anyone looking over him. He'll be fine by morning."
"I can see him turning purple from here." Nanashi snapped.
"I'm not going to waste my chakra on someone who doesn—"
"Get out then."
"Excuse me?"
"Out!" She shoved the man.
"If you touch me again, I will have no choice but to—" Nanashi grabbed him by the collar and hauled him to the door; she thought about throwing him from the room but instead chose to merely shove him out. "You—"
She slammed the door in his face before turning back to the ANBU. "You want to stay or leave?"
Silence.
"Good." Nanashi stalked her way back to the bed, rolling up her sleeves. Before coming to the hospital, she already sadly purified the perfect buzz she had going, but at least now she would be able to help the brat out. She'd just have to owe him some of his first couple of paychecks. To replace her Sake. Or she'd make him buy her a top-shelf bottle. Hell, the kid was a Genin now. They would probably shunt him into the reserves instead of sending him back to the Academy. "Now watch carefully, Sasuke. This is how you treat a human patient."
It took far more time than she thought it would, especially after realizing one of the kid's ribs had fully punctured a lung. Without the proper tools, she was forced to use chakra alone to pull the bone out. The ANBU came and left, bringing her whatever she needed, but eventually, she was done. "When you're out in the field, Sasuke. You won't always have access to your tools. You need to learn how to do everything with chakra. Using it like a scalpel, tweezers, or even stitching someone up. Once you've mastered the Mystical Palm Technique, I'll get you started on the Scalpel. Which could benefit you greatly, as the Chakra Scalpel can also be used in battle as well. I've seen Med-Nin gut enemies before without even slicing through their skin. Now. The only thing to do is wait."
"He'll be alright, then?" The three kids asked.
"Yeah, Naruto will pull through. Why don't you kids go home or something? I'll speak with the Hokage about the situation tomorrow, though from what you all have told me, maybe you two should go back to the Academy for another year. Train more, harder than you ever have before. Try and find what you're good at."
"Could I learn that?" Fujiko asked.
"What? How to be a Med-Nin?"
She nodded.
"You'll need near-perfect Chakra Control. Tell your Academy sensei. They'll be able to get you help."
"What if we can't go back?"
"Why wouldn't you?" she asked Isamu.
"Not everyone can afford to. We civilians get a price reduction, sure, but... It's just me and my dad. I'd need to start working this year if I want to go back."
Nanashi licked her lips and looked away from the kid. "Don't worry about the money, kid."
"But—"
"Don't. Worry. If you really want to be a Shinobi, then the Village will take care of it." They wouldn't, but a donation in someone's name would. They helped the brat when he really needed it. What was a hundred thousand or so Ryo?
"Right..."
The two almost didn't want to leave, but eventually, Nanashi got the brats to run home. "Now then... Akami... where have I heard that name before?"
It was late now, almost eleven at night. But Nanashi had found them. She slammed into the bar with murder in her eyes and a plan in mind, storming up to her target as several people shouted. She shoved past that bastard Izuki as he tried to make a show of her entrance and slammed a fist into the bar's counter right beside Akami Tengi.
"Can I help you... Oh, Nanashi. What a pleasant surprise."
"Nanashi!" Of course, Gai would be here too, but she ignored the man.
"I've got a bone to pick with you, Akami." She growled.
"Is that supposed to scare me?" He laughed. "Come on then, tell me what I did to piss you off. I don't think I've even seen you much in the last year. Heard after Izuki kicked your ass, you started just drinking at home. So go on. What did I do now?"
"Naruto Uzumaki?"
"The D—Blond pranking menace? What about him."
It took all of Nanashi's restraint to not punch the man through his shit-eating grin. "You put him in the hospital for no reason. You had no right to fail that team. He won. You could have killed him."
"I don't know what you're talking about. I gave them a test, but they failed. It's not my fault they were so weak. Besides, those other two kids barely did anything. When I signed up for Jonin duty this year, I thought I would at least get a half-decent team. All I got were the rejects—"
She grabbed his collar now, and a hand fell on her shoulder from behind.
"Shove off, Gai." She growled, shrugging the hand off and drawing the man close.
"It's self-defense now, right?" The man smirked at Gai.
"Nana—"
She let the man go and glared into his eyes. "I challenge you."
"Challenge me? And why would I accept."
"Five Jutsu from the clan library. Any Element, 2 Cs, 2 Bs, and an A."
The bar fell silent; even Gai gaped at her like a fish.
"Are you serious?" Akami asked in shock.
"You can even look through the forbidden scrolls. Just don't blow yourself up."
"Anything?"
"Anything. Kenjutsu Techniques, Tai, Nin, Gen, I don't care."
"Deal." The man held a hand out.
"Tomorrow, Training Ground 7. Don't worry; I won't trap it like the brat did. But anything goes. Ken, Nin, Gen, Tai, Forbidden. Whatever."
Akami roared with laughter. "You can if you want to. You're going to need it."
"Wait!" Gai finally stepped in between the two. "Nanashi did not add her prize. As the Jonin officiating this match, I cannot allow it to happen until she states what she wants."
"Who says you're officiating?" She scoffed, but a quick glare made her turn away. "Fine. Your headband and vest."
Silence once more filled the room.
"You've got a lot of nerve, Uchiha."
"Then you'd better win, huh?"
"What are the conditions."
"Until one surrenders audibly."
"Deal."
Gai cut in, "I do not believe that is very safe. Perhaps—"
"It's fine." Akami waved the man off and leered at her. "She'll just have to make sure to practice her begging."
"Bastard." She snarled back. She turned away from the man shoving through the crowd and shouted out. "Don't forget! Training Ground 7. Noon, on the dot!"
On her way out, she heard Gai tell Akami. "Are you sure you wish to do this? Nanashi was a great Jonin years ago. She specialized in Assassination using Taijutsu and Genjutsu to disable her targets."
"And she's been a drunkard for the last eleven years. Don't worry, though; I'll hold back just a bit. Won't cut her pretty face too much with my Kenjutsu."
"Bastard." She hissed and ducked from the building. Step one of the plan was done. She'd get her revenge tomorrow.
Noon came by fast, and Nanashi half stumbled through the training field, sake bottle clutched tight in her right hand. Immediately, several shouts of laughter could be heard from one side of the field.
Akami's brother, Izuki, stood in front of a large group of spectators, shouting. "Look at her, drunk already!"
"Piss off." She slurred angrily.
"Nanashi." Gai was already at her side. "It's not too late to back out of this. I don't know what you think you can accomplish here, but—"
"He put a kid in the hospital... Gai." She spoke slowly with half-lidded eyes. "I'm gonna... gonna... put him in there."
"Not while drunk, you can't. I'm canceling this fight."
She pushed the man off with a scowl. "Too late. We're both already here."
"You're not fit—"
"Piss off!" She snapped, glaring at her once best friend with all the rage she could muster.
"Fine. Maybe you'll finally learn something from this." The man stepped to the side of their makeshift ring, and Akami walked to stand a few feet across from her.
"Ready, Uchiha?"
"Hn." She grunted.
"This is your last chance to back out," Gai said, raising a hand into the air. "Speak now, or we will begin."
Silence. Akami fidgeted slightly, though, and crouched down, staring across at Nanashi as she stood on Gai's left-hand side by the lake. Not his preferred choice of positioning. But he could get around her to the lake.
"Fine. You will begin in 3... 2... 1... Fight—"
"Hold on." Nanashi slurred and held up a finger.
"Seriously, Uchiha." Akami snarled as the woman brought the bottle up to her lips, downing the rest of its contents. Even shaking the bottle for its last drop. "Fucking alcoholic. Are you serious? You're nothing but a failure."
"Akami!" Gai shouted.
"That's better," Nanashi mumbled and stepped forward; her single finger fell into a one-handed tiger sign.
"What are you—"
"Fire Style: Roaring Lion!" A massive plume of fire erupted from her mouth, fueled by the alcohol.
"Shit!" Akami hit the ground, feeling the flames sear his back, even through his clothes. "You crazy bitch!"
He had to roll to his feet as a heel cratered the ground where his head had been. "Get up and fight, bastard!" She roared, no slur and no half-lidded eyes in sight. Just two black beads that pierced straight into his soul.
Akami leaped to his feet, whipping out his tanto that was barely blocked by her kunai. "My Kenjutsu—Urgh." He gasped as she kneed him in the gut before he could even finish his sentence. Another knee cracked his nose, and he stumbled backward, swiping his tanto across his front, stopping her approach, and allowing him to fall into his preferred stance.
"Oh? A Leaf Style stance for sure? Konoha's Moon style, perhaps?" The man gritted his teeth at her smirk. "I'm right, right? I thought Hayate was the only one. Most prefer Konoha's River or Mountain style."
He dashed forward, only to be blocked by a perfect copy of his attack. He stepped back, attempting a lateral slash, only for it to be blocked once more. He tried again. Block. He jumped back and tried to encircle her, only to be met by a her once more. Those black eyes beaded heavily into his mind. He pushed his hands together and leaped back, spewing a ball of water from his mouth silently as she slashed at it with a kunai. A distraction. He pulled out a smoke bomb and flipped through a few hand signs.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Two clones popped into behind behind the smoke, and they shuffled position. The three fell into their stance, and Akami gritted his teeth at having to bust out a technique like this so soon. But he needed to deal with her immediately. Damn the consequences of killing the Last Adult Uchiha.
"Playing hide and seek, are we!"
"Leaf Style: Dance of the Crescent Moon!" He and the clones rushed forward, sensing her chakra through the smoke.
"Wind Style:—" It wouldn't matter; they burst through the cloud and leaped high into the air. He heard her shout the ending of her jutsu, Great Breakthrough, but as they descended, no wind came. She didn't even have time to dodge as his attack landed first, easily severing a hand and digging deep into her shoulder. She screamed in pain. His first clone landed as he moved out of the way, cutting through her waist. And finally, her head flew as his third clone landed.
He heard laughter. Not something he was expecting, but then—
The world fell apart.
He blinked. "1...
Wait. Was that Deja Vu? Nevertheless. He crouched down and—
"Fire Style: Roaring Lion!" Deja Vu, for sure. He jumped back just in time and flipped through several hand signs as he landed near the lake.
"Water Style: Rising Wave!" Water flew forth and battered the flames aside, nearly engulfing the panicking woman. This was why he chose to start on this side of the fight.
He ripped his tanto from his back and slashed into the water, "Water Style: Blade of Water." He rushed forward as she stumbled to bring out a kunai to defend herself. He wouldn't let her, though. "Leaf Style: Banishing Blade." He disappeared, shunshining past and leaving a long gash through her side. If she was rushed to the hospital, she might not bleed out in time. Gai would get her there. No doubt about—
The world fell apart.
He scratched his nose. "1...
Wait. Was that Deja Vu? Nevertheless. He crouched down and—
"Fire Style: Roaring Lion!" Deja Vu, for sure. He leaped to the left, diving into the lake's water and quickly flipping through hand signs, mentally chanting the jutsu.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Two clones popped into being at his side, and they instantly flipped through their own hand signs.
"Water Style: Crashing Deluge!" The lake surged forth, followed quickly by Akami and his clones as the spray blocked everyone's view. Nanashi was running through the water, not knowing his clones were already preparing to attack through the spray—
Why was the world so dark?
A hand burst through the water and grabbed his clone. Something warm and wet splashed across his face, getting in his mouth and eyes. He could taste metal.
"Clone!" Someone shouted. He turned, blinking through the red as Nanashi knelt over him. When did he get on the ground? Why was his clone being held like that?
"Any last words?" She asked the clone. Akami scoffed. Of course, the idiot thought he was the clone.
"Clone!" the clone shouted. "Do something! Why are you just sitting there!" Nanashi held a kunai to the clone's neck, holding him over top of Akami.
"What the hell are you—!" She ripped the kunai across the clone's neck, and blood spewed forth, drenching him. He choked as the jutsu began to unravel. His skin, muscles, and bones agonizingly turned into smoke as he was ripped apart. He choked on the blood filling his mouth from the dying man. Why? What had—
A bottle smashed into Akami's face, and he jerked back as alcohol seeped into the wounds. "Fuck!" He shouted.
"Are you ready or not! Bastard!" Nanashi shouted. He blinked and looked around. Gai's arm was already down, signaling the start of the fight, but— "What?" He couldn't even remember why he had paused. But why did he feel so tired?
"Are you ready or not! I don't have all day... day... day."
Akami threw down the smoke bomb to cut off those beady black eyes and quickly brought his clones into existence. But he tensed for some reason. Something was wrong. What the hell? He had already done this, hadn't he? He had—
The water sprayed from the lake, and he and his clones leaped from the bottom, tanto's in hand, and. "Shit! Kai!" the Genjutsu finally faded just as Nanashi shattered his nose with a powerful chakra-infused punch.
"Took you long enough." He stared into those beady eyes in terror. He was in so much pain and was lying on his back, looking around in confusion. His own friends and family stood off to the side, watching in horror. "Don't look at them, look at me."
He stared into those black eyes once more.
"That's better. Don't worry, I'll make it all better."
"Mom..." She was still alive... "What's for dinner."
"I'm making your favorite, some—"
"Genjutsu!" Akami looked around in confusion. Where had that come from?
"Is Izuki still at the academy, mom?"
"He is dear. Why do you ask?"
"Genjutsu! You damned idiot! It's a Genjutsu!"
"I thought I could hear him... What's a Genjutsu?"
"You know what it is, sweetheart. You're a Jonin. Remember?"
"Huh?"
"Remember?"
"Remember?"
"Remem—"
Akami's eyes widened in shock. "Kai!"
"Fell for it again, huh?" A foot slammed into his chest, crushing something as his hand slowly unfurled from its hand sign. "You're probably thinking, isn't pain supposed to get me out of a genjutsu?"
Another kick went into his side, and he rolled over, puking blood.
"Normally, that's true. But with a seal and a constant supply of chakra being pumped into you from each of my attacks, well." She stomped on his leg, and he howled in pain.
"Surrender, you idiot!"
"I—Izuki?"
"Surrender!"
"Where's... mom?"
"Surrender!" More people were shouting now.
"Man. I went through all those Kata last night for nothing. This was the easiest fight against a Jonin ever. You all really have gotten soft outside of war? I spent so long in that prison, doing nothing but train. Train, and train, and train, and train. I guess I didn't need to. You're all so fucking pathetic. You've been a Jonin what? Two years? Maybe take a demotion. You're not that good. I put you in what? A Dozen Genjutsu. You popped through the first couple of layers easily, probably subconsciously, but this was just... embarrassing.
"Mom?"
"Is that what you saw with that last Genjutsu?"
"Mom..." Akami groaned and rolled onto his stomach. "Mom..."
"PAthetic."
Nanashi snorted as the man begged for his mother. It was interesting to see what a simple C-Ranked Genjutsu could do sometimes. "Pathetic." She had planned and planned and planned for hours yesterday, before and after the bar. Yes... this was all she got? A paralyzed man and a good beating from her.
The man groaned on the ground, clutching his shattered ribs, but all Nanashi could do was sneer at the man. She bent down, grabbing the back of his vest. He didn't deserve this. The lousy bastard that dared to fail her student. Dared! For nothing more than him being a container. A sacrifice. One that kept a monster at bay. And then had the audacity to flaunt his title! One that he obviously didn't deserve. She pulled on the flak jacket; it came off slightly, but the man hissed in pain as it caught his shoulders and pulled at his broken ribs.
"Stop whining." She hissed back. She pulled again, harder.
"Stop!" He finally shouted something else. "I sur—"
She slammed a foot into his back, underneath the vest, stopping him from speaking.
"Nanashi!" Was that Gai shouting at her? Who cared. Fucking filth. The lot of them.
"The deal was I'd get his Jonin vest!" She shouted at them. And she'd get what she was due. She pulled again, and it got stuck on his shoulders this time. Technically, he hadn't surrendered just yet anyway. He had tried, but—she snapped out a kick. Breaking his arm at the elbow. His pained screams were almost satisfying.
"That's enough, Uchiha!"
She ignored Gai, even as the group began walking over to them. But that was fine; she got what she wanted, and the vest finally slid off with ease.
"What now, Uchiha! Anything else to prove! You've injured a—"
"Shove off, Izuki," Nanashi muttered as she flipped open the vest's pockets. She turned the item upside down, dumping its contents. She then reached down and untied his headband, yanking it off with a flourish.
"What are you—"
With two hand signs and a silent incantation, Nanashi threw the vest and band into the air behind everyone and let loose a torrent of flames that had everyone reeling back. It was gone to ash in an instant.
"Coward." She hissed at Akami. "Picking on children. You don't deserve to be a Jonin.
"I-I surrender." He sobbed out.
"See." Nanashi turned from the others, stuffing her hands in her pockets, and began to walk off. "Now the match is over."
"You heard him earlier!" Izuki challenged.
She simply shrugged, not dining to answer the Jonin. She waved behind herself. "Have fun here. I've got a meeting with the old fart to get to."
"you won't get away with this, Uchiha!"
"What a letdown." She sagged her shoulders. She was actually looking forward to a challenge. Though maybe it was her own fault. She shouldn't have expected anything from a green jonin. Especially a green peacetime one. He had probably never even dealt with a Genjutsu specialist before. They were quite rare, even during the war. And most were killed as soon as they were found out. A shadow fell at her side, and she rolled her eyes. "I'm on my way now."
"I will escort you."
"Not needed." A hand wrapped around her arm, and she finally surrendered. "Fine. Just be gentle."
And they were gone into the wind.
Being deposited right outside the old man's door on her rear certainly wasn't fun. Especially with the doors being wide open and several people standing there, wary faces etched like stone. The ANBU walked in, leaving her behind, so she slowly stood, brushing herself off, and grabbed a different ANBU by the cloak, wiping Akami's blood off with a smirk at the man—no, that was definitely a woman. "I bet I could guess who you are."
"Please do not." Hirzuen Sarutobi spoke.
It looked like the end was nigh. Nanashi finally turned fully into the room and walked through the doorway.
"Hokage-sama," she said through gritted teeth. An ANBU appeared at her side, elbowing her harshly and nearly slamming her head into the floor.
"Show some respect, worm."
She tried to stand from the forced bow, but the hand held firm. Now, this was someone she wanted to fight.
"That's alright, Dragon."
Maybe not. Dragon was the mask given to the Leader of ANBU. Always.
"Stand, Nanashi Uchiha, and speak your case."
"My case?" She scanned the room. A few council members were there, the Ino-Shika-Cho most notably, as well as a few other Elite Jonin, like Hatake.
"Why did you issue such a challenge. Why did you dare to potentially cripple or kill another member of this Village?"
"Why? Are you serious?" She asked in shock. "You're telling me you don't know why?"
"Answer the Hokage." Dragon's voice filled the room.
She simply smirked and reached into her kunai pouch. Instantly, everyone was on guard; she slowly pulled out a piece of paper and held it out. Hatake swiped it first, flipping it over, and froze.
"How do ya like that, Hatake. Beat you to it, didn't I?"
"How—"
"what is it?" the Hokage asked.
"An official adoption paper for one Naruto Uzumaki."
Whispers broke out.
"Silence!" the man took the proffered paper from Hatake and looked it over. "This cannot be binding. I would have heard about it."
"Only if someone actually told you about it. I tell you, it took a lot of planning to get away with this. But it's dated three days ago, sooo..." Nanashi shrugged. Technically, it was only done last night, but if they checked around, all copies would be three days old, and the woman in charge would give the same news. It was just a simple bribe and a genjutsu to make the woman think it was a different day. A small fine would be paid, and the woman would be fired, but the paperwork was binding. Until—"
"I am voiding this, effective immediately."
"By your wisdom, Lord Third." She bowed to the man, trying, and failing, to hide her predatory smile. She got what she needed from it. "But, this does fall within my reasonings for today's actions. I had planned to tell Naruto as a reward for his becoming a Genin, yet after hearing about his hospitalization by his own Jonin instructor, I had to settle this. As you know, a Jonin or Clan Leader can issue challenges so long as another Jonin oversees the fight. Maito Gai volunteered, and the rest is history. Jonin Akami injured not only my son but also a future... weapon... of this Village."
A shiver went down her spine as the old man's chakra flooded the room. Frankly, she was terrified, but she was ready to die at this point in her life.
"He's not your son, and you know it." Kakashi practically growled at her. Honestly, he reminded her of his summons.
"Now, now, Kakashi-kun. That's an S-ranked secret." She held a finger to her lips with a wink.
"As is what you just revealed."
Nanahsi blinked and clasped her hands behind her back. "Whatever do you mean, sir? Is it some big secret that all of us shinobi are simply weapons for the Village to use at its will? Are we not to be used and thrown away at your will?"
"You are not merely weapons, Nanashi Uchiha." The man stared her down. "And I would never throw away a member of this village like you say."
"Did you not do so to me? You threw me away after I broke down in the middle of a battlefield. You then swept me away after my family called me a thief. Sent me to the worst prison imaginable simply because you were worried about any secrets I could leak. I could have gone to any number of prisons. Yet you sent me to die in Blood Prison. Do you even know the things I went through? The things I had to do to survive in that hell hole!? Did you ever read the reports!? I was only brought back because you wanted me to pump out Uchiha's for this Village."
"I brought you back—"
"Don't fucking lie to me!" She snapped and stepped forward, ignoring the arms that grabbed her or the weapons pressing into her neck. "You threw me away! Everything I ever did was for this Village. I was fourteen when you sent me away! Fourteen! I killed hundreds for you and for our people! That's why I did what I did today! Akami Tengi injured a genin for no reason other than because of what he was! He failed a perfectly good team for nothing! Threw all three away in an attempt to get rid of a child that he didn't like! Both of those Genin are now attempting to drop out of the Academy due to one reason or another! I'm sure you already heard about my donations this morning. 10 Million Ryo to be given to children, civilian students, or those from destitute clans! Just so they can go to the Academy and eventually die in a ditch for this Village that obviously doesn't care for them."
"I care greatly for all members of this Village. Naruto especially."
"Then grow some balls and prove it." She snapped. There went her wind again. Everyone pulled back as she dropped to her knees, gagging onto the carpet.
"Nanashi Uchiha... Everyone leave except for Dragon. I have much to say."
Nanashi breathed heavily into the carpet until Dragon ripped her to her feet and practically threw her into a chair.
"Fuck you." She hissed to the ANBU.
This was going to suck.
(AN: Woooooooooooooooo! Hell of a fun chapter to write. I went back and re-edited the first chapter, by the way. Eventually, I'll swing through and redo the other chapters as well. Anyhow. As for this chapter's question, who had the best hair-do in Naruto?)
