Bobby had gotten on his knees as he started to pray. All of his good memories over the past seven years flashed through his mind as his eyes closed.
Meeting Athena for the first time, proposing to Athena, when he actually started getting along with the 118, his moments with Buck, Chimney, Eddie, Christopher, Hen, Ravi, May, Harry, and Michael.
When he opened his eyes again he stood dressed in his everyday clothes. In front of him was Marcy sitting on a picnic blanket in a sundress matching his blue polo shirt, she watched Brook and Robert Jr playing on a playground.
"Daddy!" Brook's voice sounded cheerful as she jumped off the swing running over to Bobby jumping in his arms.
"Brook!" Bobby smiled, catching his daughter trying to fight back his tears holding her tight.
Robert Jr spotted his dad. He jumped down from the monkey bars running over to Bobby hugging his legs, Marcy stood watching her children and husband.
"Welcome home," she said softly, smiling at her husband.
He loved...loves Athena and he was gonna miss her and the 118 but he missed his family like hell. He didn't want to leave but he chose to save his team, he chose to give Chimney a chance to see his son.
Everything was just as he imagined then a bright light took it all away and his eyes opened and all the pain he felt was gone but he was chained down to a metal table and Moira Blake stood over him with a needle.
Then he passed out.
Athena sat in the apartment that she had been sharing with Bobby until their dream house was. But how could it be theirs if he was dead?
She sat in complete silence staring at the wall that held a picture of them at their little wedding ceremony. She held a half empty glass of wine in her hand.
Bobby's funeral was just earlier that day and she had turned down May's offer to stay at her apartment and she has been locked up in her apartment ever since, she hadn't allowed herself to cry since she had said her goodbyes to Bobby.
A loud knock at the door maid Athena's attention changed. She sighed, sitting the glass down on the table making her way towards the door.
She opened the door. "Hen I told..." Athena trailed off seeing Buck.
His blonde curly hair and clothes were damped probably from the rain, but his eyes were red and you could still see the tear stains on his face. "Buckaroo?" Athena said with a confused tone the nickname had slipped out and it had been a while since she had called him that.
"I..I.." Buck stammered out his voice trembling. "I couldn't sleep...I...I keep seeing him," the tears started to fall again.
Athena watched as Buck started to fall apart, he looked exhausted as if he hadn't slept and had been crying and couldn't stop. She caught Buck as he collapsed into her arms, the young firefighter sobbing in Athena's arms.
Seeing him like this Athena felt the tears sting her eyes.
It's been two hours and Buck had finally calmed down crying himself to sleep on the couch, Athena sat there she ran her hand through Buck's curls silently allowing the tears to finally escape her eyes.
She had wiped them away with her free hand as her phone rang, she reached for it placing it to her ear. "Sargent Grant," Athena answered, keeping her voice steady.
"Athena," Elaine's voice came from the other end of the phone. "How are you doing?"
"Well my husband just died so I'm doing peachy," Athena said sarcastically. "Sorry. Is there a problem?"
"It's fine it's understandable your grieving," Elaine said she sucked in a breath before exhaling and continued to speak. "Moira Blake is missing."
Athena's heart dropped. Moira had gone missing? The entire reason her husband is dead just went missing.
"What? How?" Athena questioned after a long period of silence.
"Two guards were getting ready to transfer her to a new cell to find her already missing and –"
"She escaped," Athena cut Elaine off with a firm tone. "She didn't go missing, she escaped."
"Yes," Elaine said.
"Do we have any footage?" Athena asked with irritation in her voice, she looked down at Buck feeling the young man shift with a small whimper leaving his mouth.
"No we don't," Elaine said. "And you aren't working on this case."
"Elaine," Athena stretched.
"You just lost your husband Athena, she's the reason why he's dead, this is too personal..."
Athena zoomed out not hearing the rest of her captain's words. "You know how you get when things get personal." Bobby's words rang in her ears.
"Do you understand me?"
Athena was snapped out of the memory at Elaine finishing her sentence. "Uhm...yeah," Athena said.
"Good."
Athena and Elaine knew very well Athena wasn't gonna stay out of this. She was gonna catch Moira Blake and make sure she stays in prison even if it does get her killed.
A/N: first part! How was it?
