Episode 362: Curbing the Crimson Tide
After taking their leave of Draginite Island, Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple have arrived to Cremini Town and departed from the boat there.
"Thanks for the ride, captain," Rei said.
"Anytime. Sorry ya couldn't find that white Dragonite," the captain said.
"Oh, we aren't too disappointed," Chase said.
"Well, got other places to go," May said.
"That reminds us. If it's okay with you, I think we have some other places to go to for May's Contests," Brendan said.
"Of course. And I can assume the same can be said for you two, right?" Rei asked Sora and Kairi.
"Yeah," Sora and Kairi said in unison.
"Very well. That leaves the five of us," Rei said to Chase and Elaine, including Volt and Maple
With that said, the group have gone their separate ways for the Kanto Pokémon Contests and the Pokémon Stadium Cup.
Meanwhile, in Commerce City, three boys are confronted by a mysterious red figure. The figure snickered fiendishly.
"That laugh. It's Red Lightning," one of the boys said.
"It appears my name and reputation has proceeded me today," Red Lightning said.
"We know who you are. There isn't anyone who doesn't know you!" The first boy said.
"Hey, think we should run?" The second boy asked.
"Maybe so. Getting into a battle with Red Lightning can totally mess us up," the third boy said.
"I'm not running away! You're gonna get beat for good!" The first boy stated.
"A brave boy should make for a good battle. Now, present your Pokémon!" Red Lightning demanded.
"Alright! Come on out, Poliwag!" The first boy shouted, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. His Poliwag emerged from inside, ready to battle. "I'm counting on you, Poliwag! I'm ready, Red Lightning!"
"I hope so," Red Lightning said.
"Ha! You'll find out!" The first boy taunted, making Red Lightning growl as it approached the Tadpole Pokémon, making the other two boys back away.
"Here it comes!" The third boy said.
"Poliwag! Water Pulse!" The first boy ordered. Poliwag forms Water Pulse and sends it right at Red Lightning, but it easily dodges the attack. "Uh-oh!"
"Hyper Beam!" Red Lightning said as a red pincer came from the red cape and fired Hyper Beam from it, instantly knocking out Poliwag.
"Poliwag, no!" The first boy cried. Red Lightning laughed as it approached its defeated opponent and covers it with its cape. "You already won! What are you doing?! Stop it!" Red Lightning uncovers Poliwag and doodles all over Poliwag. "You drew all over Poliwag!" He looked up and saw Red Lightning on the rooftop.
"A pleasure. We must do this again, sometime. Farewell!" Red Lightning said as it is laughing before it disappeared through the massive gust of wind.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Commerce City steps out of his limo and makes his way into the police station.
"CABBURGER!" The mayor roared at the top of his lungs.
Elsewhere, two other cops are sitting at a table on their break.
"That sounds like the mayor's voice," one of the officers said.
"Yeah, and he sounds pissed," another officer said.
"Well, who can blame him? One of Red Lightning's victims was his son. I mean, if it was my son, I'd feeling the same way," the first cop said.
The mayor made his way into the chief's office and his yells can be heard through the entire precinct.
"YOU'RE A WORTHLESS FAILURE, CABBURGER! ANOTHER ATTACK HAD JUST OCCURRED LESS THAN AN HOUR AGO! THIS RED LIGHTNING HAS ELUDED YOU AGAIN! WHAT'S TAKING YOU SO LONG?!" The mayor yelled as some of his spit goes on the chief's face.
"We are doing our best to get the situation under control, Your Honor. I already have my best officers on the case as we speak," Chief Cabburger said.
"It would seem your best is doing nothing but disappointment me! Because of this Red Lightning business, my son has been too afraid to step out of my house because he's scared Red Lightning will get him again!" The mayor said.
"Our officers are having trouble keeping up with Red Lightning, but it's just so slippery, we're having trouble keeping up with it, but we are getting closer than ever to apprehend Red Lightning, so don't worry," Chief Cabburger said.
"You better be, because I am giving you one, last chance to nab this Red Lightning or else!" The mayor said.
"Oh, don't you think you're overreacting, sir?" Chief Cabburger asked.
"Overreacting?! The media is using this to humiliate me! Every time I try to get my mind off it, someone from the press calls me and asks me what I intend to do about it, and I am running out of plausible excuses to give them! And just this morning, the media circus parks itself outside my house! I was reduced to sneaking out through my own backyard like a tax dodger!" the mayor said.
"Do not worry, sir. We'll get him, so don't worry," Chief Cabburger said.
"I'm not worried, but you should be! You have until this evening to put this Red Lightning case to a close, because if you can't, then I'll hire a police chief who can!" The mayor yelled, slamming the door, making the glass shatter. Chief Cabburger sighed to himself.
"Oh, boy, oh, boy. This is what I need. A time limit to save my job and I can't do a thing about it since Red Lightning is a slippery than a bar of soap. The mayor's kid gets beaten by the Red Lightning and the entire city stops just for him. And I only have until tonight to catch this crimson nuisance or else, it'll be the axe for me. I might as well just write a letter of resignation. Well, it's never too early to start thinking about retirement.," Chief Cabburger said.
Meanwhile, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel have arrived to Commerce City and looked around.
"Wow, talk about busy," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Well, we are in a big city. You remember Hop-Hop-Hop Town?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"How could I forget. I just hope some random lady doesn't come running up to me and start mistaking me for their son, who coincidentally looks a lot like me," Sora said. Kairi started to giggle from the memory.
"Well, it was a case of mistaken identity. And it all worked out in the end, thanks to those Dream Eaters," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"You've said it. Those morons would have taken off with that Drowzee and Hypno if they didn't show up when they did," Sora said. He spotted a Pokémon Center up ahead and it was next to a mall. "Look, there's a Pokémon Center."
"And there's a mall. Too bad May had to miss out on it," Kairi said.
"Yeah, she'll love to shop till she drops in there," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
The couple entered the Pokémon Center to rest their feet and their Pokémon.
"Hello there. I hope you're having a wonderful day," Nurse Joy said.
"Things couldn't be better," Sora said. Sora was thankful that he didn't have any monsters to deal with today, but he didn't want to jinx it.
"That's good. It's a relief that you weren't affected, too," Nurse Joy said. This confuses Sora and Kairi.
"What do you mean?" Kairi asked.
Before the young nurse could say anything, the three boys from earlier came in with Poliwag.
"Nurse Joy, help!" The first boy exclaimed.
"What can I do for you?" Nurse Joy asked.
"It's my Poliwag!" The first boy said.
Sora and Kairi looked at all those marks on Poliwag's body.
"Look at those markings? How did that happen?" Sora asked.
"It was that awful Red Lightning!" The third boy said. Nurse Joy gasped.
"Oh, no! Not again!" Nurse Joy said.
"Red Lightning?" Sora and Kairi asked.
"Who and what is Red Lightning?" Sora asked.
"Red Lightning is a mysterious Pokémon that's been showing up in the city," Nurse Joy said.
"That sounds creepy," Sora said.
"Red Lightning wears a mask and a cape, so it talks, too," the first boy said.
"It talks?" Kairi asked.
"A Pokémon that talks. It sounds like something like Meowth, but in a more intelligent way," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Are you sure it's a Pokémon? How can you be sure that it is?" Kairi asked.
"Because it used Hyper Beam, and only a Pokémon can use a move like that," the first boy said.
"What do you know about Red Lightning?" Sora asked.
"Red Lightning appears out of nowhere, challenging people to battle. Its power is overwhelming and no one's been able to beat it. Red Lightning even leaves its mark on the defeated Pokémon's face," Nurse Joy said.
"That's awful," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Why would Red Lightning draw on a Pokémon's face like that?" Sora asked.
"I'm afraid I don't know, but whatever the reason, people all over the city are really worried and scared. In fact, it's gotten so bad, the mayor is very furious over this ever since his son became one of Red Lightning's victims," Nurse Joy said.
"Furious?" A voice spoke. It came from a dark-skinned young man, wearing a blue outfit. He approached the couple. "The mayor is angrier than a Gyarados with a toothache. And that is his given right. This Red Lightning is making a mockery out of us Pokémon Trainers. It is an insult I refuse to tolerate."
"Nurse Joy!" A boy's exclaimed as he came in with a Gulpin. Like Poliwag, it has marks all over its face. "Look what happened to my Gulpin!"
"So, that was Red Lightning's work?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Yes," the boy cried.
"This is really getting out of hand!" The first boy said.
Sora started to feel angered and disgusted by Red Lightning's actions. He knew Red Lightning has to he stopped. Sora took out his Pokémon Box and he exchanged Beedrill for Charizard just in case.
"Sora? Kairi?" A familiar voice asked. They saw it was Ethan and Kris at the Pokémon Center.
"Ethan, Kris. You're here, too?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, we came here to relax and then we started to hear talk about this Red Lightning. You know anything about it?" Ethan asked.
"We were just told about it," Sora said.
"Isn't Lyra with you?" Kairi asked.
"We saw her a little while ago, so she and Marill went out," Kris said.
"I just hope she's careful," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Meanwhile, Lyra and Marill were out, keeping their eyes opened for any signs of Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed; but so far, there weren't any.
"Things seems to be quiet for the most part, right, Marill?" Lyra asked.
"Marill," Marill nodded.
"I guess we've earned ourselves a break. And I have some Razz Berries for you to chow down on," Lyra said.
"Rill!" Marill beamed with her mouth watering at the thought. The Aqua Mouse Pokémon began to eat the Razz Berries. "Marill!"
"Does that taste good?" Lyra asked.
"Marill," Marill said.
Just then, a strong wind began to blow.
"That's a strong gust," Lyra said. She then heard the sound of laughter. She looked up and saw Red Lightning. "Who are you?"
"What? You mean, you don't know who I am yet?" Red Lightning asked.
"I don't know, should I?" Lyra scoffed.
"I am quite famous around here. I am Red Lightning," Red Lightning said.
"Red Lightning? You got the red part down. You a friend of Vanitas?" Lyra asked.
"I don't know any Vanitas. I only came here to battle against your Marill," Red Lightning challenged.
"If you wanna battle, then where's your Pokémon?" Lyra asked.
"I am the Pokémon," Red Lightning said.
"You?! You could only be a Heartless!" Lyra said, summoning her Keyblade. "Fire!" Lyra casts a fire spell. The fireball heads right for Red Lightning who dodged it just by jumping. "Marill, in the bushes!" Marill complies with Lyra as she engages Red Lightning, swinging her Soul Silver Lugia at Red Lightning. It dodges her slash.
"What are you doing?!" Red Lightning demanded.
"Striking you down, Heartless, that's what! I'm gonna send you back to the darkness you were born from!" Lyra said, throwing her Keyblade at Red Lightning, but it dodged again.
"Hyper Beam!" Red Lightning shouted, firing Hyper Beam at Lyra, but she casts a reflect spell to block it. "What?!"
"Nice try, Heartless. You're not gonna take me down that easily," Lyra said.
"You are a real pain," Red Lightning said as Lyra's Keyblade emits fire and nearly struck down Red Lightning.
"Hold still!" Lyra said, trying to strike down Red Lightning.
"You're no fun. I'll have to take my leave. Farewell," Red Lightning said, taking off in the blast of wind. Lyra dismissed her Keyblade.
"Marill?" Lyra asked. Marill came out of the bushes.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Thank goodness you're safe. I think we better tell Ethan and Kris about this," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill agreed.
They took off for the Pokémon Center to inform Ethan and Kris.
Back at the Pokémon Center, there was a lot of Trainers who were attacked and the Pokémon being doodled on.
"Man, this is too much," Sora said.
"Whoever is doing this is just mean," Kris said.
"I hear you, Kris. We can't let this stand," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but we gotta find out who it is first," Sora said.
"Yeah, totally," Ethan said.
The doors opened as Lyra and Marill entered inside.
"Guys! I we gotta talk!" Lyra exclaimed.
"Marill!" Marill also exclaimed.
She saw Sora and Kairi is with them.
"Sora, Kairi? This makes it even better," Lyra said.
"Lyra, hey," Sora said.
"Wish we could say it's nice seeing you again with what we're seeing," Kairi said.
"Lyra, what's gotten you so worked up?" Ethan asked.
"Marill and I were out keeping our eyes opened for Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed, so we were taking a break, and that's when a Heartless calling itself Red Lightning came and attacked," Lyra explained.
"Red Lightning?!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed.
"You saw it?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah. I took that monster on, but it flew off before I could finish it off!" Lyra said.
"Is Marill okay?" Kris asked.
"Marill's fine. Have a look," Lyra said. They looked at the Aqua Mouse Pokémon and saw she was okay.
"Glad you didn't get doodled on," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
This leaves Lyra and Marill dumbfounded.
"Doodled on?" Lyra asked.
"I think you should see for yourself," Ethan suggested.
With that said, Lyra gasped when she saw the Pokémon with the markings. She was appalled that it happened to them and to know Marill was safe from that.
"I don't believe it. I thought Red Lightning was a Heartless, but it turns out that it wasn't," Lyra said.
"Why would you think it was a Heartless, Lyra?" Kairi asked.
"Well, I just assumed it was since it challenged me to a battle and said it was the Pokémon it was using. But it did use Hyper Beam like a Pokémon would," Lyra said.
"I just can't believe you took on Red Lightning head-on like that. Be glad the master isn't here, because she would berate you for it," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"But she'll understand when you tell her it was to protect Marill," Kairi said.
"Yeah, you're right. So, now we gotta go find this Red Lightning and teach it a lesson," Lyra said.
"I'm with Lyra. I mean, making fun of a Pokémon is something I can live with, but drawing on a Pokémon like it's a joke is way over the line," Ethan said.
"Yeah, you do not mess with someone's Pokémon. We'll go and beat Red Lightning in its own game," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Yeah!" Kairi, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra said in unison.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Marill!" Marill said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Pikachu, Angel, and Marill looked around for any signs of Red Lightning.
"Okay, you guys, keep your eyes peeled. You never know when it'll show up," Sora said.
"And where it might show up," Kris said.
A scream is heard not too far from them.
"There!" Ethan said.
"Come on!" Lyra said.
They followed the scream to an alley. There was a girl and a defeated Chansey with the same markings as the others.
"What happened?" Kairi asked.
"We were attacked!" The girl said. A gust of wind blew. Lyra looked ahead and saw Red Lightning.
"There it is! That's Red Lightning!" Lyra said.
"The same Red Lightning who's causing all kinds of trouble in town!" Sora said. Red Lightning just laughed.
"Word does get around, doesn't it? I am the famous Red Lightning!" Red Lightning introduced itself.
"Why are you attacking everyone?" Kairi asked.
"Because I feel like it!" Red Lightning said.
"That sounds like a coward and a bully!" Sora said.
"Coward, am I?" Red Lightning scoffed.
"Yeah, you're just picking fights just to for fun, and you doodle on someone's Pokémon! That's a line you never cross!" Sora said.
"Is that so? Sounds like you wanna battle me," Red Lightning said.
"Maybe, I do. And you're gonna wish you didn't meet me after I get done with you," Sora said.
"I'm getting bored fighting all of you weak opponents around town. You better not bore me as well, and you're gonna wish you didn't find me!" Red Lighgning said.
"Before what you asked for! Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed at Red Lightning with incredible speed, but Red Lightning dodged it just by jumping.
"What a dodge," Ethan said.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at Red Lightning. Red Lightning jumped off the wall, much to the Mouse Pokémon's surprise.
"I warned you not to bore me, didn't I?" Red Lightning taunted. It aims its pincer at Pikachu. "Hyper Beam!" Red Lightning fired Hyper Beam right at Pikachu.
"Use Quick Attack to dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu uses his speed attack to dodge Red Lightning's Hyper Beam. Just then, six Growlithe came charging and fired Flamethrower at Red Lightning, but it dodged from left to right. "Where did these Growlithe come from?"
"From me!" A familiar voice called out. They turned to see Officer Jenny. She had a stern look on her face. "Red Lightning, by order of the mayor's office, you are under arrest for menacing and unlawful battling!"
"Wrong! I'm over arrest! Farewell!" Red Lightning said as it took off.
"Stop in the name of the law!" Officer Jenny shouted as the Growlithe ran after it.
"You're not getting away from us that easily!" Sora said as he, Kairi, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra jumped incredibly high, surprising the policewoman.
"How did they do that?" Officer Jenny asked.
Using their abilities, the Keyblade wielders scaled the buildings, being careful not letting Red Lightning see them.
"It's hopping from one building to another," Kris said.
"As long as Red Lightning doesn't see us following it, we're in the clear," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
They followed Red Lightning all the way to a building with a mansion right on top. Red Lightning lands on the roof with Sora, Kairi, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Pikachu, Angel, and Marill following. On the roof is a girl with brown hair and orange eyes. She wore a red dress with a white apron. She wore red shoes with white socks. She held a laptop and wore a communicator. She was unaware of their presence as she was focusing only on Red Lightning. They hid behind the plants to avoid her sight.
"Who's she?" Kris asked.
"I don't know, but I have a hunch those two know each other," Kairi said.
"You got careless out there. It was bad enough that girl with the Marill almost hit you with that giant key, but now the police are getting closer than ever. I'm tired of this. I had enough," the girl said.
"Wow, she sure looks sad," Lyra said. She then sneezed, alerting her and Red Lightning. They spotted them. "Oops."
"Way to go," Sora, Kairi, Ethan, and Kris said in unison.
"Excuse me! You don't go into other people's yard uninvited!" The girl scolded.
"Your yard?" Ethan asked.
"Looks more like a park," Sora said.
"It's my yard and this is my house!" The girl said.
"And no one here doubts it," Kairi said.
"So, you're here, now. What do you want?" The girl asked.
"We didn't mean to trespass in anybody's yard, but I see you and Red Lightning are close to each other," Sora said.
"So, what if I am?" The girl asked.
"Why are you picking fights with everyone in town?" Sora asked. She just laughed.
"Oh, give me a break. It's only a little harmless fun," the girl said.
"Harmless?! You caused a lot of Pokémon a lot of pain!" Sora snapped at her. She huffed.
"I don't care!" The girl cruelly said.
"You don't care?! Well, you're gonna care when Officer Jenny slaps the cuffs on you!" Sora said.
Just then, a butler came to the backyard, hearing the commotion.
"Miss Luna, do you have guests?" The butler asked.
"No, they came here without being asked," Luna said.
"She and that Pokémon has been causing a lot of trouble and Officer Jenny was close to making an arrest!" Kairi said.
"Oh, no, not again. Miss Luna, I have repeatedly warned you that the authorities would come down on you if this mischief has been discovered. Your mother and father will be most upset if they hear you have been arrested," the butler said.
"Well, who cares? Mother and father? Ha! And who cares what the police does? I can do whatever I want!" Luna argued. She turned to the group. "Okay, kid, since you found me, how about a battle against me and my Red Lightning?"
"Miss Luna!" The Butler said.
"Fine with me!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Charizard! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Charizard emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Red Lightning! Use Hyper Beam!" Luna ordered. Red Lightning fired Hyper Beam right at the Flame Pokémon.
"Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charizard fired Flamethrower against Hyper Beam. Charizard pushes Red Lightning's Hyper Beam back and hits Red Lightning. The cape is then destroyed, revealing itself to be a Scizor, wearing a camera and speaker.
"Your costume!" Luna gasped.
"So, it was a Scizor all along!" Kris said.
"I knew it! It all makes sense!" Kairi said as the camera and speaker fell off. "That's how you did it. You were watching and speaking through the microphone, pretending to be Red Lightning the whole time."
"Okay, now, you know. Big deal! Okay, Scizor! Agility!" Luna ordered. Scizor dashes straight.
"Charizard go after Scizor!" Sora said. Charizard flew after Scizor. Scizor jumps off the edge and uses the wind to float. "I get it. That Scizor was able to fly around like that because of the wind."
"Scizor! Hyper Beam!" Luna ordered.
"Fly to dodge it!" Sora called out. Charizard tried to dodge, but he was hit by Scizor's Hyper Beam, dealing heavy damage.
"Charizard's been hit!" Kairi said.
"How did that happen? Charizard should have been able to dodge that with ease!" Ethan said.
"It's the city's updrafts!" Kairi said. The Johto trio looked at Kairi.
"What do you mean?" Lyra asked.
"The reason we couldn't keep track of Red Lightning was because the city's updraft. That's how he was able to disappear the way he does," Kairi said.
"You gotta get closer to Charizard! Use Hyper Beam once you're close enough!" Luna ordered. Scizor flew right at Charizard. Sora just grinned since that was exactly what he wanted.
"Okay, two can play this game! Ride the wind, Charizard!" Sora said, making Luna gasp. Charizard uses the wind to his advantage. Thanks to that, Charizard was able to dodge Scizor's Hyper Beam. "Great! Use Dragon Claw!" Luna gasped. Charizard slashed Scizor with Dragon Claw, making him fall.
"Scizor, no!" Luna gasped.
"Okay, Charizard! Help Scizor!" Sora said. Luna was confused by why Charizard would do that. Charizard grabbed Scizor and flew him back to the mansion and placed Scizor down. "Great job, Charizard."
"But why?" Luna asked.
"Because your Scizor was in trouble, that's why," Sora said.
"I don't care! You had no business doing that!" Luna said.
"It was bad enough you didn't care about how you made others suffer, but now you don't care about the safety of your Pokémon? What is your problem?!" Sora exclaimed in disbelief.
"He's right. The well-being of your Pokémon should always be your number one concern!" Kairi said.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Luna yelled.
"That is enough, Miss Luna," The butler scolded, placing his hand on her shoulder. "I can understand you are lonely, but this mischief has got to stop."
"Lonely? What do you mean lonely?" Lyra asked.
"Marill?" Marill asked.
"You see, Miss Luna's mother and father are world famous inventors. And as might be expected, Miss Luna has inherited their genius for invention, as Red Lightning gives evidence of. However, as one might also expect, her parents excess causes them to live extremely busy professional lives and forces them to be away for long periods of time. It was during one of these times she raised a Scyther and nurtured it to evolve into a Scizor," the butler explained.
"So, that's what the whole thing was about?" Sora asked.
"I'm afraid so. And that was when she began to use her Scizor to adopt the Red Lightning persona and cause mischief for others. I had repeatedly warned her of the consequences of her actions, but she has ignored my warnings, and things have only gotten worse when she caused harm for the mayor's son. And I could only imagine how furious the mayor is about this," the butler said.
"Please, stop," Luna said.
"That is all I needed to know," a voice spoke. They turned to see Officer Jenny who had been listening in on their talk.
"Officer Jenny?" Ethan asked.
"How long have you been there?" Lyra asked.
"Ever since the battle with Scizor and Charizard. I've been listening in on the story, and I have to say, I'm surprised this was only through a child's temper tantrums," Officer Jenny approached Luna as she hid behind the butler, knowing she's in trouble. "Now, I have to do my duty. Chief Cabburger gave the order to arrest Red Lightning on sight, under the mayor's instructions," Officer Jenny said.
"Hold on, Officer Jenny, don't you think that's pretty harsh?" Lyra asked.
"Harsh or not, I have do my job as an officer of the law. And I can understand she's lonely, but I'm afraid that is no excuse to break the law," Officer Jenny said.
"I'm sorry to say this, but I'm not gonna let you do that," Lyra said.
"Lyra, what are you doing? You're gonna get yourself arrested for getting the way of the police," Sora said.
"I don't care. I can't let her do it," Lyra said.
"Why are you protecting me after everything I did?" Luna asked.
"Because I know how it feels to miss your parents, Luna," Lyra said. Luna gasped at that. "I haven't seen my parents ever since I left my hometown, but I didn't stop thinking about them. But the upside is, I got to see different places and meet different people and Pokémon. So, I thought you and I have a Pokémon battle."
"Yeah? Right now?" Luna asked.
"Of course. And it'll be against Marill this time. No tricks," Lyra said.
"Okay!" Luna said.
Lyra and Luna got into positions as Lyra has chosen Marill and Luna is sticking with Scizor.
"Scizor! Use Swift!" Luna ordered. Scizor fired Swift at the Aqua Mouse Pokémon.
"Use Bubble Beam!" Lyra ordered. Marill fired Bubble Beam to block Scizor's Swift. "Now, use Hydro Pump!" Marill unleashed Hydro Pump right at Scizor.
"Dodge it, Scizor!" Luna called out. Scizor dodged Marill's Hydro Pump.
"Jump up!" Lyra called out. Marill uses her tail as a spring to jump, much to Luna's surprise. "Play Rough!" Marill got close to Scizor and gave the pincer Pokémon a series of beatings. "Hit Scizor with Aqua Tail!" Marill swings her tail like a mace and struck him with Aqua Tail, making Scizor land on the ground, beaten.
"My Scizor!" Luna exclaimed.
"Great job, Marill!" Lyra said.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"Wow, that was actually fun. I don't even care that I lost," Luna said.
"I'm glad you can see you don't need some fancy gizmos to battle," Lyra said.
"You're right. And because of this, I won't be causing any more problems for anyone again," Luna said.
"I'm glad to hear that," Officer Jenny said, approaching Luna. "I was going to put you behind bars, but after seeing what you can do, I don't have it my heart to do it. So, I'll just say that Red Lightning is good as gone. And it'll be up to you to make sure it stays that way."
"I promise, officer. I won't do it ever again. Red Lightning is taking a permanent vacation," Luna said.
"Good. Because if I hear anything about Red Lightning coming back, you better believe I won't be so easy on you," Officer Jenny said.
"Well, at least you didn't go to jail, Lyra," Ethan said.
"Well, it would have been worth it," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
The case of Red Lightning had officially been close. Thanks to Officer Jenny, the true identity of Red Lightning stayed a secret, which spelled good news for Chief Cabburger since he wasn't fired by the mayor, and he would be able to use his front door in peace again. And it was good news for every Pokémon Trainer who are living in Commerce City or not since they won't have to worry about future attacks.
They all said their goodbyes to Luna and headed back to the Pokémon Center to rest. Now, there was another thing to think about.
"Now that the whole Red Lightning is in bed, where do we go for a Pokémon Contest?" Sora asked.
"Excuse me, but did you say Pokémon Contest?" Nurse Joy asked as she approached the group.
"Yeah," Sora answered.
"You see, I'm entering Pokémon Contests here in the Kanto region, and I have won four Contest Ribbons so far," Kairi said.
"I see. Well, I thought I should inform you that there's Pokémon Contest taking place in Gardenia Town," Nurse Joy said.
"You hear that, Kairi? You have a chance to win your fifth and final Contest Ribbon," Kris said.
"That gives us a reason to go, doesn't it?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, and we'll be along with her," Ethan said.
Now that the next Contest is confirmed to be held in Gardenia Town, Kairi has her chance to earn her fifth and final Kanto Contest Ribbon. Kairi will have to train hard for it since she knows she'll be having a tough competition for that Ribbon. Stick around if you want to see what happens next.
