Episode 446: Saturn Strikes
On the next morning, it was now Roxas's time to shine as he prepared for battle for the Kobble Badge. Roxas and Maylene stood in position for their Gym battle. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Xion, Lea, Kanako, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, the DigiDestined, and the Pokémon got to watch the match get underway.
"The battle between the challnger, Roxas from Pallet Town and the Gym Leader, Maylene is about to begin! Each Trainer will be using three Pokémon! And the challenger is the only one who shall be permitted to substitute Pokémon! The battle shall be over once either Trainer's Pokémon is unable to battle! Now, choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee announced. Maylene took out a POkéball and threw it.
"Meditite! Go!" Mayelen called out. Her Meditite came out to battle. Roxas took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Sableeye! Let's go!" Roxas called out. His Pokéball opened and his Sableye came out to battle.
"Sableye, huh?" Dawn asked, taking out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon
Type: Dark/Ghost
This Pokémon makes its homes in dark caves, finding gemstones for food. Inside the darkness, its eyes sparkles with the glitter of stones.
"Roxas made a good choice in choosing his first Pokémon. Fighting-type moves won't affect Ghost-types," Dawn said.
"You're right, Dawn, but Thunder Punch is an Electric-type move, and Detect is a non-damaging move," Leaf said.
"Not only that, but Meditite is also a Psychic-type Pokémon so Sableye has the advantage," Kris said.
"Meditite! Thunder Punch!" Maylene ordered. Meditite came right for Sableye with a Thunder Punch.
"Dodge and use Shadow Claw!" Roxas ordered. Sableye dodges Meditite's Thunder Punch and slashed at the Meditate Pokémon. "Use Dazzling Gleam!" Sabeleye forms a rainbow orb and it turned to a rainbow beam, sending it right at Meditite.
"Use Detect!" Maylene ordered. Meditite uses a Detect to avoid Sableye's Dazzling Gleam. "Thunder Punch!" Meditite came right for Sableye with a Thunder Punch.
"Dodge and use Dazzling Gleam again!" Roxas ordered. Sableye unleashes a Dazzling Gleam, hitting Meditite on the mark. "Use Shadow Ball!" Sableye forms a ball of shadow and threw it right at Meditite, hitting it. Meditite has been knocked out from the attack.
"Meditite is unable to battle! Sableye wins!" The referee announced.
"One down, two to go," Lea said.
"Way to go, Roxas!" Kari cheered.
"Pika!" Xipak said.
"Go get 'em!" Xion said.
"Vee!" Celeste said.
Maylene called back Meditite and smiled.
"Thank you, Meditite. You've fought hard and earned yourself a good rest," Maylene said. She took another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Machoke!" Her Pokéball opened and her Machoke came out to battle.
"Machoke!" Machoke said. Roxas called back Sableye and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Espeon! Go!" Roxas called out. Espeon came out to battle against Machoke.
"Why did Roxas call Sableye back?" Yolei asked.
"If I know Roxas, and I do, he doesn't to rely too much on Sableye. Espeon's a Psychic-type, so Roxas still has the edge," Lea said.
"Machoke! Use Brick Break!" Maylene ordered. Machoke came right at Espeon with a Brick Break.
"Dodge that and use Psybeam!" Roxas ordered. Espeon dodged Machoke's attack and fired a Psybeam, hitting the Superpower Pokémon. "Okay, use Zen Headbutt!" Espeon came right at Machoke with a Zen Headbutt.
"Rock Slide!" Maylene ordered. Machoke hurls a Rock Slide right at the Sun Pokémon.
"Psychic!" Roxas ordered. Epseon uses Psychic on the rocks and sent the rocks right back.
"Smash those rocks!" Maylene called out. Machoke smashes the rocks with punches and kicks. "Now, Machoke! Use Seismic Toss!" Machoke grabs Espeon and tosses the Sun Pokémon and lands on the ground. Espeon gets back on its feet. "Now, use Cross Chop!" Machoke crossed its arms and rushed right at Espeon with its arms crossed and came right at Espeon.
"Dodge and use Zen Headbutt!" Roxas ordered. Espeon dodged Machoke's Zen Headbutt and lands a hit with Zen Headbutt. "Psybeam!" Espeon fired a Psybeam right at Machoke.
"Dodge it, Machoke, and use Brick Break!" Maylene ordered. Machoke dodged Espeon's Psybeam rushed right Espeon with a Brick Break.
"Use Psychic!" Roxas ordered. Espeon lifts Machoke up with Psychic before giving it a forceful push. Machoke was knocked out from the attack.
"Machoke is unable to battle! Espeon wins!" The referee announced.
"Two down, one to go," Lea said. Maylene called back her Machoke and she took out her third Pokéball and threw it. "You're going in next, Lucario!" Her Pokéball opened and Lucario emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"You still good to go, Espeon?" Roxas asked.
"Esp," Espeon said.
"Okay, Espeon! Use Psychic!" Roxas ordered.
"Lucario! Aura Sphere!" Maylene ordered. Lucario unleashed an Aura Sphere and lands a hit onto Espeon before it could land a hit.
"Espeon!" Roxas exclaimed.
"Use Bone Rush!" Maylene ordered. Lucario then came right at Espeon and lands a hit with Bone Rush, knocking Espeon out.
"Espeon is unable to battle! Lucario wins!" The referee announced.
"Espeon is out," Davis said.
"But he still has two left to use," Tai said. ROxas called back Espeon.
"Get yourself some rest. You've earned it," Roxas said. He took out Sableye's Pokéball and threw it. "Sableye! Back to action!" His Pokéball opened and Sableye came back out to battle. "Lucario knows Metal Claw and Bone Rush, and those are the only moves that can hurt you, so be careful."
"Sable," Sableye said.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Roxas ordered. Sableye unleashed a Shadow Ball and sent it right at Lucario.
"Use Aura Sphere to block that!" Maylene ordered. Lucario unleashed an Aura Sphere and it collides with Sableye's Shadow Ball, resulting in an explosion. "Use Metal Claw!" Lucario came at Sableye and slashed at the Darkness Pokémon.
"Dazzling Gleam!" Roxas ordered. Sableye sends out a Dazzling Gleam and sends it right at the Aura Pokémon.
"Use Bone Rush!" Mayene ordered. Lucario uses Bone Rush and twirls it to cut it in half. "Bone Rush again!" Lucario rushed right at Sableye with a Bone Rush, landing a hit. Sableye was knocked out.
"Sableye is unable to battle! Lucario wins!" The referee announced.
"And now, Roxas and Maylene both one left," Kairi said.
"And it'll probably go either way," Sora said. Roxas called back his Sableye and he took out one ore Pokéball before he threw it.
"You're going in now, Heracross!" Roxas called out. His Pokéball opened and his Heracross emerged from inside. "Heracross! Start up with a Focus Blast!" Heracross sends out a Focus Blast and sent it right at Lucario.
"Dodge and use Force Palm!" Maylene ordered. Lucario dodged Heracross's Focus Blast and came the Single Horn Pokémon with a Force Palm.
"Use Hegahorn!" Roxas ordered. Heracross uses his horn to block Lucario's attack and overcame Lucario's Force Palm. "Arm Thrust!" Heracross came at Lucario with an Arm Thrust.
"Dodge!" Maylene ordered. Lucario managed to dodge Heracross's Arm Thrust. "Force Palm!"
"Arm Thrust again!" Roxas ordered. Heracross was quick enough to give Lucario an Arm Thrust before Lucario could land its attack. "Great! Now, use Brick Break!" Heracross lands a Brick Break, landing a hit.
"Bone Rush!" Maylene ordered. Lucario rushes at Heracross with a Bone Rush.
"Megahorn!" Roxas ordered. Heracross charges right at Lucario and lands hit, sending Lucario back on its back. Lucario tried to get back up, but fell on its back, beaten.
"Lucario is unable to battle! Heracross wins! The winner is Roxas from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Roxas!" Sora cheered.
"Pika!" Pikachu and Xipak both cheered.
"I knew you'd do it, buddy," Lea said, feeling proud of his friend. Maylene called back her Lucario and smiled.
"You were amazing, Lucario. Thank you for that battle," Maylene said. She approached Roxas. "Congratulations, Roxas. You're just as strong as your brother Sora. And as proof of your victory here in the Veilstone City Gym, I'm giving you the Cobble Badge as your reward," Maylene said, holding up the Cobble Badge for Roxas. He accepts it and smiled.
"Thanks, Maylene," Roxas said.
"Now that we each have the Cobble Badge, we're going have to start making plans for our next Gym battles," Lucas said.
"Yeah," Sora and Roxas agreed.
"But how about we have a small celebration to celebrate Roxas's win," Lea said. Roxas and Xion smiled, knowing what he had in mind.
"I like the sound of that," Roxas said.
"I figured you would," Lea said.
As soon as everyone returned to the Pokémon Center, Lea came in with three bars of sea salt ice cream; one for the each of them. Roxas and Xion took theirs as Lea took his. The trio of friends began to eat their treat, feeling nostalgic at the taste.
"It feels like the old days again, doesn't it? When it was the three of us sitting down and eating some ice cream," Roxas said.
"I know how you feel, Roxas. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. Now, no one can take that from us," Lea said.
"You're right. Xemnas and Saïx isn't here to ruin it for us like they would have done before I left the Organization. I'm glad that they didn't," Roxas said.
"You mean to drive a wedge between you two? That would be terrible if they did," Xion said.
"Yeah, it would have been. Honestly, I wouldn't know if that ever happened, and I don't even want to think about it. We already had one of those from that one time," Lea pointed out.
"Yeah, you're right," Roxas said, remembering that one mission. "Thanks again for stopping me when you did."
"Anything for a friend," Lea said.
"Now the next Gym is located in Pastoria City, so we're gonna have to make the proper preparations rations before we go," Xion said.
"Yeah, and train for it, too,"Lea added.
"Like I needed a reminder," Roxas said. He, Xion, and Lea all laughed.
"Let's just keep eating our ice cream before they melt," Lea said as they went back to eating.
A little later, Reggie walked with the group, wanting to show them something before they took their leave.
"First Sora, then Lucas, and now Roxas. You three are well on your way," Reggie said.
"That's really nice of you to say, Reggie," Lucas said.
"All that training they did has really paid off," Matt said.
"You would know, Matt. Your Lucario helped out," TK said.
"That's true," Matt said.
"If you don't mind me asking, but where are you taking us?" Kanako asked.
"Oh, you'll see. It'll be out of this world," Reggie said. The group eventually made it to their destination. It was a ground of meteorites that have fallen from outer space. "And here we are."
"You brought us over here to see some rocks?" Davis asked.
"These aren't ordinary rocks. These are meteorites," Reggie said.
"Prodigious, I heard of these. These are the reason it's called Veilstone City," Izzy said.
"That's exactly right, Izzy. It's what puts Veilstone City on the map. Our city's been called the City Hewn From Rock and these metoerites are part of it," Reggie said. "All these metoerites have been honored as guardians since way back in ancient days. Of course, as the meteorites' fame grew, people started teveling here all over to see them. And that's how Veilstone City gradually began taking shape. Now, the grateful people of our fair city are watched over by all of our guardians."
"It's a good thing you brought us all here, because if I knew about these ahead of time, I would end up regretting it," Brendan said.
Up above, a Team Glactic helicopter makes a landing. Saturn steps out to be greeted by a couple of Team Galactic grunts.
"Commander Saturn, welcome to Veilstone Base," the male Team Galactic grunt greeted.
"May I carry that?" The female Team Galactic grunt asked. Saturn raises his hand.
"This is a special item. I'm bringing it to our leader. I'll carry it myself," Saturn said.
After witnessing the meteorites with their own eyes, they all returned to the Pokémon Center to rest for one more night before taking off once again. But before that, Sora has made contact with Rei on her Rotom Phone. They didn't wait long until she answered.
"Sora, Kairi, and the rest. I trust each one of you have earned a Gym Badge from the Veilstone City Gym by now, yes?" Rei asked.
"Yeah, Master, and we're already making plans to head off for Pastoria City early in the morning," Sora said.
"Pastoria City, huh? You know, I have heard some talk from some Trainers there that the Gym Leader is named Crasher Wake and he specializes with Water-type Pokémon. So, that would mean, you would have to counter him with Grass and Electric-type Pokémon," Rei said.
"Yeah, Master," Sora said.
"And how did the meeting go with Ben?" Sora asked.
"Oh, it went smoothly," Rei said, not wanting to reveal more than she needed to reveal. "Anyway, I request that all of you come meet me at a resort over in Lake Valor. We'll need to meet in person. I am already making my preparations to head there now," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, and Michael said in unison.
"I'll close by saying get plenty of sleep. And be on the look out for any Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, or any of Count Ernesh's other apprentices along the way," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, and Michael said in unison.
"We'll meet you over in Lake Valor, Master," Sora said.
Meanwhile, Saturn is addressing to the Team Galactic grunts.
"Attention please!" Saturn called out to the Team Galactic grunts. They stood before him, listening to what their commander has to say. "Our targets are the meteorites surrounding Veilstone City. If the cube is successful, and that event will give us the necessary key that unlocks the mystery of our operation's next stage. Then, after plan completion, we'll destroy this base and evacuate. It's vitally important that we leave no sign of our presence here."
"Yes sir!" The Team Galactic grunts said, saluting to their commander.
A few minutes later, Saturn and two of the Team Galactic grunts have stepped in the meteor fields. Saturn removes the cube from inside the box and it began to react to the meteors.
"It's reacting, just as Master Cyrus said they would," Saturn said. He raises the cube even higher into the air, making them shine even brighter. Back at the Pokémon Center, Elaine notices as she was brushing Maple's fur. Maple caught a glimpse of it as well.
"What in the world is that?" Elaine asked.
"Vee?" Maple asked.
"We better tell the others about this," Elaine said.
"Eevee!" Maple agreed. She and Maple rushed over to the others to inform Sora and the others about what is going on. "Guys! There's some kind of light show going on over at the park!"
"What light show? What are you talking about?" Lea asked.
"I think you should come outside and see for yourselves," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple nodded.
Over to Reggie, he Electabuzz, and the other Pokémon caught a glimpse of what was going on.
"What's going on over there?" Reggie asked.
Meanwhile, Paul was training for his rematch when he saw the same kind of light in the night sky.
"What the?" Paul asked.
Over to the Veilstone City Gym, Maylene and Lucario sensed something in the air and they both knew it wasn't good.
Back at the Pokémon Center, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, Michael, the DigiDestined, Kanako, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Marill, Volt, Maple, and Piplup all rushed out to see the lights shining from the park.
"You were right, Elaine, it is a light show!" Ethan said.
"Yeah, but it's coming right from the park!" Kari said.
"And we were just there," Sora T said.
"What do you think is going on?" Cody asked.
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling feeling we're gonna find out rather if we want to or not," Riku said.
Back in the park, the Spear Key has taken the shape of an actual cave, much to his awe.
"Yes, the true form of the Spear Key. The meteorites and the Spear Key are made from the same material," Saturn said. He makes contact with the Veilstone base. "This is Saturn, we've detected the target. Prepare for signal jamming."
At Veilstone base...
"As you wish," a male Team Galactic grunt said. He gets to work on his task.
Back in the park, the helicopters hover above the meteors and grabs them.
"Jam the signals, now!" Saturn ordered.
"Roger!" The male Team Galactic grunt said. He shuts down the grid, cutting off some of the power in the city.
The Veilstone City police were up in an uproar.
"Communications with the outside world has been cut off!" One of the police officers said.
"Our radar is down, too! Something is jamming the grid!" Another police officer said.
"Switch to emergency mode now! Scramble all of our communications, and run all of our information through me first! "We've got to find the source of that interference!" Officer Jenny said.
Back in the Pokémon Center, the communications were down, causing all of the Trainers to murmur among themselves.
"How much do you wanna bet this has a lot to do with what's going on in the lights from earlier?" Yolei asked.
"A whole lot," Sora said.
Joe approached Nurse Joy at the counter.
"Nurse Joy, what's going on?" Joe asked.
"I'm afraid something has gone terribly wrong with all of our medical equipment! And it's affecting the recovery of the Pokémon!" Nurse Joy said.
"And you don't know why?" Joe asked.
Maylene and Lucario came in the Pokémon.
"You're still here! Good!" Maylene said.
"Maylene!" Lucas said.
"Are you here because of what we been through a little while ago?" Chase asked.
"Yes. Lucario and I picked it up earlier and we came to see for ourselves!" Maylene said. Joe approached the group.
"Guys, the medical equipment here at the Pokémon Center is down, and Nurse Joy has no idea why it is!" Joe said.
"You're kidding!" Tai said.
"Who would do such a thing?" Kari asked.
"That's a good question with a really terrible answer," Rui said.
"We should head over to the park and see what's going on for ourselves," Maylene said.
"That's a great idea," Kairi said.
"But why didn't you go to Officer Jenny?" Dawn asked.
"I sent one of my staff members with a note to do that for me," Maylene said.
Good thinking," May said.
"Now, let's head down for the park and stop what's going on," Lyra said.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"Tai, I think some of us will have to help Nurse Joy with the Pokémon in critical conditions until everything comes back on," Joe suggested.
"Joe's right. You guys stay here and do what you can to help," Sora said.
"Okay, Ketchum, we'll leave it to you," Tai said.
With that said, the DigiDestined stayed behind as Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, Michael, Kanako, Maylene, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Marill, Volt, Maple, Piplup, and Lucario raced to the park. Just then, Team Galactic helicopters flew over them.
"Look! Those are helicopters! And they're flying over us!" Xion said.
"And look where they're heading! There's no way that's a coincidence!" Michael said.
"And I have a bad feeling I know who it is!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"You do?" Lea asked.
"Who?" Kanako asked.
"The only way we're gonna find out is when we get there ourselves!" Sora said.
"He's right! The only way we're gonna stop whoever is doing this is by catching them in the act!" Wes said.
With that said, they kept going toward the park.
Speaking of which, the helicopters hovered above the meteorites.
"Begin meteorite collection," Saturn instructed. The bottom of the helicopters opens and the hooks came down to retrieve them. The group all arrived to see Team Galactic.
"Look! It's Team Galactic!" Kairi exclaimed.
"I knew it!" Sora hissed. A male grunt went up to them.
"What are you doing here?" The male grunt asked. Saturn looked at the group.
"Interference?" Saturn asked.
"Putting a stop to you, Team Galactic!" Sora said.
"I'm going to guess you're with Mars and Jupiter," Kairi said.
"I see. I'm Saturn, one of the commanders of Team Galactic," Saturn introduced himself. He took out a Pokéball. "You will not interfere with us." He threw his Pokéball. "Toxicroak! Go!" Toxicroak came on out. "Use Sludge Bomb!" Toxicroak fires Sludge Bomb right at group. Everyone all ducked out of the way. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Croagunk!" Sora called out. Croagunk came out. "Venoshock!" Croagunk fired a Venoshock to block Toxicroak's Sludge Bomb, resulting in an explosion. Croagunk then started to glare at Toxicroak. "Great job, Croagunk, but what kind of Pokémon is that?" Sora took out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Swaying and dodging the attacks of its foes, it weaves its flexible body in close, then lunges out with its poisonous claws.
"Dark Pulse!" Saturn ordered. Toxicroak fired a Dark Pulse and sends it right at them.
"Lucario, quick! Aura Sphere!" Maylene ordered. Lucario sends out an Aura Sphere and it blocked Toxicroak's Dark Pulse, resulting an explosion.
"Why are you doing this? This is a historical landmark!" Lucas said.
"We don't care about your landmarks, but these meteorites must take the necessary forms," Saturn said.
"Necessary forms?" May asked.
"What are you talking about?" Dawn asked.
"We're talking about the necessary forms to build the new world," Saturn said.
"New world?" Lucas asked.
"I don't like the sound of that," Sora said. Just then, Officer Jenny arrived by motorcycle and got between the two groups. Saturn was a bit annoyed by the sudden appearance of Officer Jenny.
"Officer Jenny!" Kairi said. Officer Jenny got off the motorcycle.
"Thanks for the tip, Maylene," Officer Jenny said, doing a salute.
"All part of my civic duty," Maylene said. Officer Jenny turned to Team Galactic.
"So you took the meteorites, aren't you? All communications are down all because of your tricks," Officer Jenny said.
"Maybe, maybe not," Saturn said.
"So they're responsible for the break down in the Pokémon Center," Wes said.
"And not just the Pokémon Center, but every bit of equipment across Veilstone City," Officer Jenny said.
"It was bad enough Mars took control of Valley Windworks, and Jupiter taking Pokémon from other Trainers, but these guys are just crossing the line again and again," Ash said.
"Did you think Sinnoh's special police aren't on top of your activities, Team Galactic? You might as well think again, because you are all under arrest!" Officer Jenny said.
"I think not," Saturn said.
"Tell me what do you plan to do with those meteorites!" Officer Jenny demanded.
"That would be a big waste of time. But I will say it's all part of our plan. Toxicroak! Dark Pulse! Go!" Saturn ordered. Toxicroak sends out another Dark Pulse right at the group.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora, Roxas, and Chase ordered.
"Swift!" Kairi, Riku, Xion, and Elaine ordered.
"Bubble Beam!" Naminé, Lyra and Dawn ordered.
"Aura Sphere!" Maylene ordered.
The Pokémon fired their attacks to block Toxicroak's Dark Pulse, blocking it. A small bit of Dark Pulse right at Ash when Croagunk uses Brick Break on it.
"Thanks, Croagunk," Ash said. Croagunk and Toxicroak glare at each other once again.
"Surrender peacefully or do you prefer to come kicking and screaming in handcuffs," Officer Jenny said.
"Clear the way," Saturn ordered. The Team Galactic grunts threw their Pokéballs as several Golbat came out from inside. Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Brendan, May, Lucas, Wes, Rui, and Michael took out their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go!" They all shouted as Magmar, Charizard, Venusaur, Typhlosion, Wani-Wani, Sceptile, Blaziken, Monferno, Espeon, Umbreon, Plusle, and Jolteon.
"Magmar! Fire Punch!" Lea ordered.
"Charizard! Mega Punch!" Ash ordered.
"Venusaur! Vine Whip!" Leaf ordered.
"Typhlosion! Flamethrower!" Ethan ordered.
"Wani-Wani! Hydro Pump!" Kris ordered.
"Sceptile! Seed Bomb!" Brendan ordered.
"Blaziken! Fire Blast!" May ordered.
"Monferno! Flamethrower!" Lucas ordered.
"Espeon! Psybeam! Umbreon! Dark Pulse!" Wes ordered.
"Plusle! Thunderbolt!" Rui ordered.
"Jolteon! Shock Wave!" Michael ordered.
The Pokémon fired their chosen attacks right at the Golbat. There so many not one of them could get to the helicopter. One of the Gobat got behind Pikachu to fire a Shadow Ball to hit him, but Charizard lands a Mega Kick to save him.
"They're going to make a get away with those meteorites!" May said.
"No, they're not! We're gonna cut those cables before they go too far with them! Sceptile! Solar Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile began to build up solar energy. The Golbat were ganging up on everyone when a sudden electrical blast struck the Golbat. They saw it was Paul and his Electabuzz.
"Paul?" Lucas asked.
"Who is that?" One of the female Team Galactic grunts asked.
"Irrelevant," Saturn replied. He sees Toxicroak still fighting Croagunk. He gets on his evolved form's back. "Stop wasting time, Toxicroak! Use Dark Pulse on that boy and his Electabuzz!" Toxicroak pushed Croagunk aside and fired a Dark Pulse and sends it right at Paul and Electabuzz.
"Protect!" Paul ordered. Electabuzz forms a protective barrier to block Toxicroak's Dark Pulse.
"Ash, I have an idea on how to save those meteorites, and I'm going to need your help and Dawn's, too," Brendan said.
"Our help?" Dawn asked.
"How can we help?" Ash asked.
"Sceptile is preparing to use Solar Blade to cut the cables to make them fall, so I'm going to need Charizard to throw Sceptile with a Seismic Toss, and Piplup's Whirlpool can be used to keep the meteorites from being destroyed in the fall," Brendan explained.
"I like that plan," Dawn said.
"So do I. Let's get right to it," Ash said. He turned to Charizard. "Okay, Charizard! Use Seismic Toss to throw Sceptile toward those helicopters!" Charizard nodded as he flew and grabbed the Forest Pokémon, still charging up Solar Blade. Charizard flew close enough and tossed him right at the helicopters, so Sceptile uses his Solar Blade to cut the cables, making the meteorites fall. "Use Dragon Claw on those hooks!" Charizard uses Dragon Claw on the hooks to cut them. "Dawn, now!"
"Right! Piplup! Whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. Piplup forms a Whirlpool and sends it right at the meteorites, saving them from being destroyed in the fall. "It worked!"
"That was a great idea, Brendan," Ash said.
"Thanks," Brendan said.
Saturn and the Team Galactic grunts saw that their operation was a failure.
"Commander, the plan," the female Team Galactic grunt said.
"I can see there's no choice. Retreat for now!" Saturn said. He called back Toxicroak just before Croagunk can attack her again. He was disappointed that he didn't get a chance to take her down. Saturn and the Team Galactic grunts boarded the helicopters. "This victory is yours today, but there will be others! I deliver this warning to you, stay out of our way or face the consequences for your meddling." The helicopters began to make their getaway.
"Monferno! Use Flamethr-" Lucas was cut off by Riku.
"Forget it, Lucas. Don't waste Monferno's energy. They're flying too fast for Monferno's Flamethrower to reach them," Riku said.
"He's right. We stopped them from getting the meteorites, so that's a win for us," Michael said.
"A win for every person and Pokémon in Veilstone City. If only we knew more about Team Galactic's plans," Officer Jenny said.
"Saturn mentioned something about a new world. I can't help but wonder what he meant by that," Xion said.
"I don't know if we wanna know the answer to that, Xion," Leaf said.
"Leaf's right. Team Magma and Team Aqua had some nasty plans for the world before, but we managed to foil their plan before it went even further than it already did," Naminé said.
Up further to Team Galactic's helicopters, Saturn sat in the seat in one of them. One of the male Team Galactic grunts turned to Saturn who wasn't too bothered by the loss.
"Sir, I know we weren't able to collect the necessary number of metoerites. Please forgive me," the male Team Galacric grunt pleaded.
"Our work should be sufficent to make the Red Chain," Saturn said. He opens his eyes. "Our next stop: the lake." He makes contact with Team Galactic HQ. "Headquarters, this is Saturn. Operation concluded. Evacutating Veilstone Base."
Speaking of which, the Team Galactic grunts have poured some gasoline all over the tables and on the floors, so one of them lit a match and threw it, burning the whole building down, covering their tracks.
This caught the attention of the Veilstone City fire department, so they used Water-type Pokémon which consists of Quagsire, Buizel, Azumarill, Gyarados, Vaporeon, and Golduck to put out the raging flames with Water-type attacks while the Geodude sprinkled the flames with dirt in their arms. They spent the whole night fighting the fire until it was put out.
On the next morning, everything was back to normal as the group have began their departure from Veilstone City.
"Well, this is where we part ways for right now," Roxas said.
"Yeah. We'll meet you over at Lake Valor," Sora said.
"It is on the way over toward Pastoria City," Lea said.
"So it works out for all of us since the Master is going to be meeting with us," May said.
"Well, bye for now," Kairi said.
With that said, the group has split up once again as they go on separate roads toward Lake Valor to meet up with Rei. But what could be Team Galactic's next move and when is it going to be carried out? We will find out as we continue on with the adventures that are to come. Stay tuned!
