Episode 481: Another One Gabites the Dust!
Shortly after making contact with Professor Rowan, Sora made contact with the others, knowing they're going to need to hear it. He made contact through Riku's Rotom Phone.
Speaking of which, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, Michael, Tai, Matt, Sora T, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, TK, Kari, Davis, Ken, Yolei, Cody, Meiko, Amy, Takato, Henry, Rika, Ryo, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Suzie, Takuya, Koji, JP, Zoe, Tommy, Koichi, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Marill, Volt, Maple, Little Mei, Guil, Mime Jr, and Munchlax are heading north toward Snowpoint City. Once they reached the snowy area, Chase caught a Sneasel, a Snover, and a couple of Snorunt, both being male and female. He did it with his newly evolved Gengar. Riku retrieves a call from Sora from his Rotom Phone.
"Sora, hey. What's up?" Riku asked.
"Riku, we have a huge problem," Sora said, grabbing everyone's attention.
"What kind of problem?" Riku asked.
"Team Galactic has gotten to the Lake Guardians," Sora said.
"What?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.
"That's anything but good," Joe said.
"They struck Lake Valor and Lake Verity, and Professor Rowan's already seeing what he can find out about Lake Acuity," Sora said.
"We'll keep our eyes opened for Team Galactic, so you do the same thing," Riku said.
"Can do. Just be careful on your part," Sora said.
With that said, Sora broke contact with Riku, knowing they may hear about Team Galactic.
Back at Lake Valor, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Vivian, and their Pokémon rounded up the Magikarp with the help of some of the local people when they came to see what had happened. Nurse Joy is among those helping as she and her staff of Chansey and Blissey are helping them all. They were placed in water-filled tanks and taken to the Pokémon Center for treatment.
"Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. I don't know what we would have done if you hadn't come along," Nurse Joy said.
"Well, we did what we thought was right to help out these Magikarp," Sora said.
"If only were able to stop them sooner," Lucas said.
"What's done is done. I hope the horrible people responsible for this will be brought to justice for this," Nurse Joy said.
Meanwhile, Rhonda on Sinnoh Now begins her news bulleton.
"It's Sinnoh..." Rhonda started.
"...NOW!" Rhonda is sitting in her desk, giving her bulleton.
"Flash, Lake Valor was completely drained of all of its water. The once picture-esque lake is now dry as a Cubone. And witnesses stated it was Team Galactic who was behind this heinous crime. And an investigation is officially underway to determine the cause of this devastating disaster. Let's hear some comments on what some people has to say," Rhonda said as the camera shifts to random people at the lake.
"It's horrible," a woman said.
"How could they do this to us?" A man said.
"This is unforgivable!" Another man.
"It's an outrage!" Another woman said.
"I hope they get what's coming to them!" Another man said. The camera shifts back to Rhonda.
"It is still unclear on why these criminals are trying to achieve, but if anyone spots any member of Team Galactic, please call your local authorities at once," Rhonda said.
Over at a motel room, Looker is watching it on TV. His Rotom Phone began ringing. He answered it.
"Yeah, I just saw it. Team Galactic's getting bolder with their ambitions," Looker said. He listened in. "I'm already on it." He hung up. "Team Galactic, what are you planning?"
Back at Lake Valor, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup prepared to take off on their journey again.
"I gotta hand it to you, Sora, Yugi did say there's never a dull moment, and he was right," Vivian said.
"You have no idea how right he is," Sora said, knowing Yugi didn't tell her everything.
"Anyway, I heard some talk there's a Pokémon Contest over in Chocovine Town if any of you are interested," Vivian said.
"Chocovine Town? Dawn, this might be your chance to win your fourth Ribbon," Kairi said.
"And when I get it, I'm going to be one step closer," Dawn said.
"What are you gonna do, Vivian?" Lucas asked.
"I'm gonna stick around for a while and see what I can do to help out. Those Team Galactic jerks ruined the lake for everyone, so when you do see them again, give them a well-deserved butt kicking for me," Vivian said.
"You can count on us, Vivian," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup left Lake Valor as they were heading for Chocovine City. They took one last look at Lake Valor before they kept going.
Back with Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, Michael, Tai, Matt, Sora T, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, TK, Kari, Davis, Ken, Yolei, Cody, Meiko, Amy, Takato, Henry, Rika, Ryo, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Suzie, Takuya, Koji, JP, Zoe, Tommy, Koichi, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Marill, Volt, Maple, Little Mei, Guil, Mime Jr, and Munchlax, they were at a huge disbelief for what happened at Lake Valor.
"I can't believe those guys did that. All of those Magikarp would've died if Sora, Kairi, Dawn, and Lucas weren't there," May said.
"I can't believe it either, May. Team Galactic has gone too far this time. Just when I thought they couldn't sink any lower, they go lower than that," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said.
"It wouldn't surprise me if Pokémon Hunter J pulled this off, and she's rotten to the core," Roxas said.
"Chu," Xipak said.
"Yeah, I know. All of this just so they can create their new world," Lea said.
"I think we should find out where they're hiding and come in with our Keyblades swinging!" Chase said.
"Pika, Pika!" Volt said.
"You're not for real, are you?" Ethan asked.
"We can't do that!" Lyra said.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"Why not? They don't play fair, so I don't see why we shouldn't!" Chase said.
"I can tell you why not, Chase. We would be sinking down to their level, and that's something we just can't do," Leaf said.
"Leaf is right, Chase. That'll be overkill. And we shouldn't be using our Keyblades for revenge," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste nodded with agreement.
"Besides, the Master wouldn't go with your idea. You remember what happened when Riku did that, don't you?" Brendan asked, reminding Chase.
"Um, well..." Chase stammered.
"And let's not forget about Lucius, Chase. He abused his Keyblade and he joined up with Count Ernesh," Ash said.
"And you can see he wasn't going to pull his punches with us," Wes said.
"And Sora would agree with us about it being a bad idea. Sure he used his Keyblade on Jessie, James, and Meowth, but it was only as a last resort," Ethan said.
"And they knew which buttons to push," Lyra said.
"They have a point. I would have become somebody I didn't like if we just attacked Team Galactic with our Keyblades. And the Master would be mad at you for even thinking of it," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Yeah, she will just take away your Keyblade," Kris said.
"Guess you're right," Chase said, regretting what he said. "It's just, thinking about what Team Galactic did just makes my blood boil."
"Trust me, we're feeling that, too," Michael said.
"And you're right to be mad," Rui said.
"So, just because we can do that doesn't mean we should. We have to be better than that, Chase. We have to be better than our enemies," Riku said.
"You're right. I'm sorry for ever getting that stupid idea," Chase said.
"Anyway, let's head for Lake Acuity and see what we can find out," Riku said.
Agreeing with the Union's second-in-command, the group kept going toward Lake Acuity.
Loki appeared before Count Ernesh in his mansion.
"Master, Team Galactic has done it. They gotten all three Lake Guardians," Loki said.
"I am aware, Loki. They have what they need to make the Red Chain. Now, they only need the location of the Spear Pillar and the Hall of Origins," Count Ernesh said.
"Yeah, they do. And it doesn't take a genius to realize that the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts will sink their plan for that new world," Loki said.
"Indeed. Team Galactic's failure to create their ideal world is featured in one of many chapters in the Book of Prophecies. The same can be said for the defeats of Team Rocket, Team Aqua, and Team Magma," Count Ernesh said.
"That has to be some interesting reading material. But I think we should cause some trouble for Sora-boy, his little princess, and the others. Just to make it interesting," Loki said.
"Agreed. And there is no doubt Darklight is making plans of his own. We must make certain he is out of the way," Count Ernesh said.
"Easier said than done. He won't let anybody get in his way," Loki said.
Meanwhile, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup made a stop to train. Before that, Sora had exhanged Rotom and Luxray for Carnivine and Drapion. As they were training, Sora's Staravia flew around and struck several Heartless dummies before hitting an Unversed dummy. Gabite does the same thing with a Nobody dummy. Staravia and Gabite then evolved into a Staraptor and a Garchomp.
"Knew you were getting ready to evolve at some point, Staraptor," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Staraptor!" The newly evolved Staraptor said.
"You too, Garchomp," Sora said.
"Gar!" The newly evolved Garchomp said.
"Okay, Garchomp! Let's see how powerful is your Dragon Pulse. Let it out!" Sora ordered. Garchomp let out a Dragon Pulse, hitting an Unversed dummy. "Nice one!"
Kairi was doing her part in helping Dawn prepare for her next Pokémon Contest. And Dawn was working on having her Mamoswine's obedience, but Mamoswine wasn't in the mood to listen to Dawn at all. But Dawn wasn't going to give up that easily.
A couple of hours after training, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup arrived to Chocovine City. The Contest was only a few days away, and that gave Dawn plenty of time to practice.
"So, which one are you using for the Contest, Dawn?" Kairi asked.
"Vee?" Angel asked.
"I was thinking of sending out Pachirisu for the next one," Dawn said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"Sounds like you have a plan, Dawn. And I'd like to see it," Kairi said.
"Oh, you will," Dawn assured.
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
Dawn began practicing for the Chocovine Town Pokémon Contest with her Pachirisu.
"Pachirisu! Discharge!" Dawn ordered. Pachirisu unleashed Discharge all around. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Pikachu, Angel, and most of Dawn's other Pokémon were watching. Mamoswine was napping on the side. "Pachirisu, that's perfect! Keep it up!"
"Pachirisu's electricity's coming out nicely," Lucas said.
"Well, it was thanks to Pikachu, Xipak, and Volt helping out. Isn't that right, buddy?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Dawn already has won three Ribbons, and she is gunning for her fourth one, and I have faith she's going to get there," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said. Kairi pets her head.
"Let's cheer extra hard for Dawn," Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel nodded.
"You got the right idea, Angel. I'm cheering especially hard for Dawn," Lucas said, having Sora and Kairi looking at Lucas with wide grins. "What?"
"Nothing," Sora and Kairi said, denying what they were smiling about. Pachirisu got tired from all of his training.
"You're tired, huh? Alright, how about a little break?" Dawn suggested. She took out a small package. "It's snack time!" Dawn's Pokémon along wth Pikachu and Angel were pleased, having to have a taste of Dawn's Poffins once again. Dawn giggled. "You're welcome to have some, too, Pikachu and Angel."
"Pikachu and Angel loves your Poffins just as well as they love Kairi's," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. First, let's everybody get into a line. Wait your turn," Dawn said as she took a Poffin out. But an enthusiastic Mamoswine cuts ahead of everyone else tackled Dawn, sending her and her Poffins flying, only for Lucas to run and catch her in his arms. Mamoswine wolfed down the Poffins.
"I guess Mamoswine wasn't going to wait his turn," Sora said.
Pikachu, Angel, and Dawn's other Pokémon were upset over how greedy Mamoswine was.
"Don't worry, gang. I'll just go and make some more Okay? Okay?" Dawn asked.
"I think Kairi and I will go out on patrol just in case there's some unwanted company. Lucas, you joining in?" Sora asked.
"I'll stick with Dawn with a little longer. Just give us a call if you see any Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed," Lucas said.
"You're only a phone call away," Kairi assured. Not needing to be convinced, the couple went off to go on patrol.
A little while later, Pachirisu saw a single Poffin laying on the ground ahead of her. The EleSquirrel Pokémon was delighted to see Mamoswine has missed it. Pachirisu excitedly ran toward the Poffin, intending to eat it when a foot stomped on it, much to her dismay. The foot belonged to a Gabite. Pchirisu became angered by Gabite's actions as blue sparks emits from hr cheeks.
"Gabite!" A familiar voice called out. Gabite turned to see Ursula coming toward it. Dawn didn't take too long to notice.
"Pachirisu! Now, stop that!" Dawn said. She ran to grab Pachirisu, but she jumped and her incisors extend and lands a bite onto Gabite. Dawn knew Pachirisu didn't know that move before, so it means she just learned it.
"That was a new move! That was Super Fang!" Dawn said.
"What's wrong with that Pachirisu?' Ursula asked. Pachirisu growled as Dawn picked her up.
"Come on, Pachirisu, play nice," Dawn said. Pachirisu used Discharge, shocking Dawn.
"I must say, someone didn't do a very good job raising that Pachirisu. Right, Gabite?" Ursula asked, petting the Cave Pokémon.
"If you look under Gabite's foot, you'll understand," Dawn said.
"Alright," Ursula said as Gabite lifts its foot. She sees the crushed Poffin and she exclaimed in shock."The horror! My beautiful Gabite's been soiled! How dare you!"
"Uh, sorry we soiled your Gabite," Dawn apologized.
"I have a feeling I've seen this girl before, but I can't quite put my finger on it," Lucas whispered to himself.
"You say you're sorry, Pachirisu," Dawn said. Pachirisu pouted.
"Those Poffins are Pachirisu's favorite food, so Pachirisu got mad over your Gabite stepping on it," Lucas said.
"If this is all what it's about, I can help you," Ursula said, taking out a Poffin. "No Pokémon can resist my Poffins." She held it right in front of Pachirisu's face, offering it to her. "Here you go. Eat up!" Pachirisu's face lit up. Pachirisu sniffed it and rejected it in disgust. "The nerve!"
"Please, I wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea!" Dawn said.
"You are aware that it could depend on the recipe of Poffins that the Pokémon might like," Lucas said.
"Piplup," Piplup said. She took a glance to the Penguin Pokémon and instantly recognized him.
"That Piplup. Hey, you competed in the last Lisia Cup Contest, didn't you?" Ursula asked.
"Me? I did," Dawn admitted.
"Thought so! Yeah, I still really think your winning that Contest was a total accident," Ursula said. Dawn gasped at her comment.
"Wait a minute, I thought I recognized you! You were in the Lisia Cup, too," Lucas said. Dawn looked at Lucas.
"She was?" Dawn asked.
"Yeah, she was. I saw her perform along with May and Kairi at the Lisia Cup. And that Gabite was right the one she used," Lucas said.
"You're not wrong. I was there. The name's Ursula. Of course, since I was eliminated in the first round, you wouldn't remember me," Ursula said.
"I didn't think we'd see her again," Lucas said in his thoughts.
"That's it. I won't say another thing about it again. Though I'll never believe they let someone like you win," Ursula said. Lucas didn't like how Ursula spoke to his crush like that.
"I'll have you know that her skills is the reason that she won the Lisia Cup! That was no accident at all! How dare you say that to her face!" Lucas snapped at her.
"You're right! Thanks to her, I started working doubly hard to become an even better and beautiful, more graceful Coordinator. YOu know, I should thank you for defeating me, Dawn. Because of you, I am where I am today," Ursula said, laughing.
"What's with her? Can't she let it go?" Lucas asked.
"Dawn, dear, you have how many Ribbons?" Ursula asked.
"I've got three of them," Dawn said.
"Huh, the same as me. I guess you'll be in the Chocovine Town Pokémon Contest? I can't wait to see what kind of 'graceful' moves you've been working on," Ursula said. Dawn didn't like what Ursula said to her.
"Back off! You think after what you said, I'd believe anything you say? We'll settle this at the Contest!" Dawn said.
"Ooh! Want a battle? Then, you have got a battle! But you won't win twice!" Ursula said, laughing as she and Gabite walked off. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel came back.
"So far, nothing to report," Sora said. He sees Ursula and Gabite walking off. And the look on Dawn's face. "Did we miss something?"
"Not much. Just someone who's holding a grudge against Dawn for beating her in the Lisia Cup," Lucas said.
"The Lisia Cup?" Sora asked.
"I think I recognize her. She's that Coordinator with the Gabite. I remember seeing her," Kairi said.
"Glad that I'm the only one who remembers her, because she's making it her mission to beat Dawn in it," Lucas explained.
"I see," Sora said.
Sometime later, Sora and Kairi were getting some water from the vending machines when Ursula was hiding in the corner, feeling lucky to see Sora. Her heart started to puond like a jackhammer she approached him.
"Aren't you Sora Ketchum by chance?" Ursula asked.
"Um, yeah," Sora replied nervously.
"I thought so. I have always been a fan of yours," Ursula said, blushing. "You're even more handsome in person." Kairi didn't like it that she's flirting with her boyfriend right in front of her. "How would you like to join me for dinner after the Contest?"
"Um, thanks, but I already have a girlfriend," Sora said. Ursula was shot down.
"What?!" Ursula gasped. "And why haven't you told me of this girlfriend of yours?"
"We just met just now," Sora said.
"And that would be me!" Kairi said. Ursula looked at her.
"Oh, it's you. You lost in the Lisia Cup, too," Ursula said.
"What if I did? What's it to you?" Kairi asked.
Ursula scoffed, Not that I need to explain myself. I suppose it cannot be helped. But mark my words I will have you fawning over me! And I shall do so by winning this Contest!" Sora was nervous. "Adieu." She took her leave giving a snobbish laugh. Croagunk appeared and gave her a Poison Jab, making her yelp. Croagunk chuckled before he and Kairi fist bumped.
"Is she going to be okay?" Sora asked.
"She'll be just fine, Sora. Let's go before she gets back up," Kairi said as she and her boyfriend walks off with Croagunk following her.
On the next day, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup have stepped out to head for the Contest Hall when Ursula was hiding the corner.
"Makes me wonder if she's going to be in the Contest as well. If she is, this is my chance to win Sora's heart and he will be my boyfriend. Ooh, I can imagine it now! A long tale of romance between me and Sora," Ursula said. She began to go into fantasy mode. She imagined the two of them on a cruise ship together.
"Ursula, you are the most beauftiful girl I have ever met. More so than the girl who I used to date," the imaginary Sora said.
"Oh, darling, I have made you some cookies," Ursula said, holding them up. "Will you be eating them?"
"Only if you will feed them to me, darling," Sora said. In the corner of Ursula's imagination, Kairi is wearing ragged clothes and a bandana on her head.
"Sora, I've been so good for you and you leave me for her?!" Kairi cried.
"Sorry, Kairi, but Ursula is who I love now," Sora said.
"Yes. And since I won the Chocovine Town Contest, it is me he has his eyes on now," Ursula gloated. "Now, come, my prince, let's go and get married and have many babies."
"And they're all going to be as beautiful as you!" Sora said. Ursula gave off her snobbish laugh as Kairi is crying in the gutter. By then, Sora is in a white tuxedo as Ursula is in a wedding dress.
(If you think this is deluded even for her, then you people would be right.)
"Oh, hearing Kairi in defeat when I take her beloved Sora from her after winning the Contest. And once he is mine, I'll have him worship like a queen; no, like a goddess!" Ursula said, doing her snobbish laugh again.
And now, it was time for the Contest to begin.
"Feel the port winds, the north winds, the warth winds, as they carry their songs and dances!It's contest time! Welcome to the Contest, coming and going, Chocovine Town!" Marian announced as the crowd cheered heartily. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Pikachu, Angel, Piplup, Ambipom, Togetic, Clefairy, Swablu, Marill, Kirlia, and Roselia were with Mamoswine as he slept.
"Guess Mamoswine moves around when he wants to," Lucas said.
"If Mamoswine wanted to watch the Contest, that'll make things easier," Sora said.
"Our winning Coordinator will win this: the lovely Chocovine Contest Ribbon!" Marian announced as Ursula walked and and she glares right at Dawn wearing her Contest dress, but with Buneary's yellow fur. She glares at her back. "And now it's time to introduce our judges! First, head of the Pokémon Activities Committee, Mr. Contesta!"
"Thank you, Marian! I'm eager to see nothing but spectacular Pokémon today, I'm sure!" Contesta said.
"Next, is the president of the Pokémon Fan Club, Mr. Suziko!" Marian announced.
"Chocovine Town is remarkable!" Suziko said.
"And last and certainly not least, our very own Fantina!" Marian announced.
"I simply cannot contain my excitement in watching this magnifique contest!" Fantina said.
"With the introductions out of the way, let's begin with our first round! The performance round where one Pokémon and Coordinator puts on a show!" Marian announced. "So, please, put your hands together for our first entry!" The curtain opens as Dawn enters.
"Dawn's up first!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said, leading Dawn's cheerleading squad along with Piplup.
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
Dawn had her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Heart Sticker E.
"Now, Buneary! Spotlight!" Dawn called out. Her Buneary came out with a swirl of pink hearts. "Use Bounce!" Buneary jumped up in the air. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Buneary fired Ice Beam, while spinning around and creating a slide of ice. Buneary stands right on top of it, making the crowd cheer.
"And Buneary's made an ice slide to remember!" Marian announced.
"What a fun slide to go down on," Sora said. Buneary goes down the ice slide.
"Let's keep it going! Use Dizzy Punch, now!" Dawn ordered. Buneary turned upside-down, using her ears, giving off a rainbow glow. When the Rabbit Pokémon reached the bottom, she used her ears to shoot herself back up to the top of the slide. The crowd cheered as Dawn and Buneary bowed to the crowd.
"That's quite a performance!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Buneary's unique qualities shown in a most appealing way," Contesta said.
"That's true! Remarkable as well!" Suziko said.
"They put together a host of techniques to make a great show," Fantina said.
In the back, Ursula just scoffed at Dawn's performance.
"Just like I thought. Least her attitude was good," Ursula said.
"And now, it's on with the show!" Marian announced as other performances came and went. The other performances included a Duskull floating around the stage. Another is a Skorupi firing Pin Missile while a Magcargo unleashing hot flames from its rocky shell, a Marill blowing an Icy Wind, and a Potygon2 firing a Hyper Beam. Let's see what our next Coordinator has for us!" Marian announced. And it turns out to be Ursula. She came out with her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Flora Sticker B.
"Sora, my love, I am dedicating this for you!" Ursula said. She threw it. Her Wormadam is a Sandy Cloak Wormadam. Pink flower petals flow around her upon entry. "Begin with Confusion!" Wormadam lifts itself up in the air with Confusion. "Next use Rock Blast!" Wormadam performs Rock Blast and uses the rocks to swirl around itself. It makes a small firework display.
"Looks like Rock Blast really shows what makes it worm of the desert!" Marian announced.
"Great! Sandstorm, now!" Ursula ordered. Wormadam unleashed Sandstorm all over the stage. "Confusion!" Wormadmam uses the Sandstorm to make a Wormadam out of sand.
"Wow! Wormadam has made a sculpture of itself out of sand!" Marian announced.
"Wrap it up with Captivate!" Ursula ordered. Wormadam releases multiple pink hearts from her body at the Sandstorm, dissolving it and making sparkles.
"And an amazing way to end an amazing routine!" Marian announced.
"It is common knwledge that there are three types of Wormadam, but that performance puts the worm of the desert on front and center! An amazing sight to see!" Contesta said.
"Amazing, also remarkable!" Suziko said.
"It was like they were synchronizing breathing! I loved it completely!" Fantina said.
"And that's it! The end of the first stage!" Marian announced. "The next order of business is to see who will make it into Round 2! Hang tight, everyone! We'll be back with the results soon!"
A few minutes later, Dawn rejoined her friends with a smile on her face.
"So, gang? What did you think?" Dawn asked.
"That was awesome, Dawn!" Sora said.
"One of the best I have ever seen!" Kairi said.
"Same with me. Buneary really showed off her cuteness out there," Lucas said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
Piplup and most of the other the other Pokémon voiced their opinions.
"What about you, Mamoswine? What did you think?" Dawn asked. Mamoswine was fast asleep. Dawn just groaned.
"Don't get too relaxed, Dawn. Ursula and that Wormadam are a good team. I know you're going to show them that you're a better team," Lucas said.
"Thanks, Lucas. But I shouldn't underestimate them neither since they're perfectly in sync when it came to using a move. Really impressive. Ursula showed off all of Wormadam's unique talents," Dawn said.
"Hmph! Surprised, are we?" Ursula asked from behind. Dawn turned to see Ursula, much to Kairi's annoyance. "Time after time we've been cut out after only the first round, but not this Contest. From all that applause and cheering voices, it looks like our efforts have finally paid off."
"Well, that goes the same for us!" Dawn argued.
"Wouldn't it be sweet if we faced off in the finals?" Ursula asked as she snobbishly laughed.
"Dawn, when you do face off with her in the finals, don't hold back in kicking her butt," Kairi said.
"Don't worry, Kairi, I won't," Dawn said.
A few moments later, Marian came back out.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting for so long, everyone! And now, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for! After some careful consideration, our judges have chosen our eight finlists in the Chocovine Town Pokémon Contest! And here they are!" Marian announced as Dawn and Ursula are among the eight finalists. "So let's give these eight Coordinators a big round of applause!" The crowd cheered hard for them.
"We did it, Buneary! It's all thanks to you!" Dawn said.
"Yeah! Way to go, Dawn!" Lucas said.
"You definitely earned your spot in the finals!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed.
"Pachirisu, are you ready?" Dawn asked.
"Pachi!" Pachirisu replied.
"So, my time has finally come. No way Dawn's gonna change that!" Ursula said.
The battles has been arranged, so Dawn will be having her battle second and Ursula will be having hers as the fourth.
"And now, our eight semi-finalists will face off two-by-two as they vie for the conveted Chocovine Ribbon! So with five minutes on the clock, let's go!" Marian announced. The first battle has concluded, leading up to Dawn and her Pachirisu battling a Coordinator with a Weavile, earning her victory. Ursula sent her Gabite against a Hariyama and beaten it. Dawn has earned her next victory as did Ursula. "And now the Chocovine Town Contest moves into its final round! We present our two final Coordinators! To my left, it's Dawn! And to my right, it's Ursula!" Both Coordinators glare at each other, knowing only one of them is earning that Ribbon.
"You can do it, Dawn!" Kairi called out. Sora noticed Mamoswine opening his eye.
"I see your eye opened, Mamoswine. You like Dawn after all, don't you?" Sora asked.
"Mamo," Mamoswine said, closing his eye.
"The time will be five minutes! Begin!" Marian announced. Dawn has her Pokéball placed in a Ball Capsule with a Bubble Sticker D.
"Alright, Pachirisu! Spotlight!" Dawn called out as her Pokéball opened and Pachirisu came out, followed by a lot of pink bubbles. Ursula has her Pokéball placed in a Ball Capsule with a Song Sticker G.
"Now, Gabite! Go!" Ursula called out, throwing her Pokéball. Her Pokéball opened and Gabite came out with colorful eighth notes floating around in a circle.
"Pachirisu versus Gabite! One Pokémon's cute! And one Pokémon's fierce! But which one will be the winner?" Marian asked.
"This is going to be tough. Pachirisu's Electric-type attacks won't even phase Gabite since she's a Ground-type," Sora said.
"You're right, Sora. Super Fang is the only move that will affect Gabite," Kairi said.
"Pip, Piplup," Piplup said.
"Gabite! Use Dragon Claw!" Ursula ordered. Gabite jumped and then came down with a Dragon Claw.
"Spin and dodge it!" Dawn ordered. Pachirisu jumped and spins, getting passed Gabite.
"Ha! There's no escaping Gabite's incredible speed!" Ursula said. Gabite slashed the EleSquirrel Pokémon with her claws. That takes a big dent out of Dawn's points.
"Super Fang! Let's go!" Dawn ordered. Pachirisu's incisors extends and came down toward Gabite.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Ursula ordered. Gabite launched herself like a rocket and repeatedly strikes Pachirisu before she could use her Super Fang. This cuts into more of Dawn's points.
"Come on, Dawn. I know you can turn this around. Please," Lucas said in his thoughts.
"Gabite's using its streamlined body to its advantage, landing hit after hit!" Marian announced.
"No way Pachirisu's gonna be able to show any appeal in this last round. Looks like the appeal is going to Gabite's and Gabite's alone," Ursula said in her thoughts.
"Sweet Kiss, now!" Dawn ordered. Pachirisu blew hearts toward Gabite.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Ursula ordered. Gabite cuts through Pachirisu's Sweet Kiss, damaging more of Dawn's points. Pachirisu pants, feeling exhausted.
"I've got to stay calm. There's still time," Dawn said.
"The judges are also judging Pachirisu's grace as well, and it doesn't look like she's going to last long if she keeps taking hits from Ursula's Gabite," Kairi said in her thoughts.
"Less than two minutes remaining!" Marian announced.
"I don't even need half that! This battle's almost over!" Ursula said. "Use Stone Edge!" Gabite unleashes Stone Edge at the EleSquirrel Pokémon.
"Discharge!" Dawn ordered. Acting fast, Pachirisu blocked Gabite's Stone Edge with Discharge. "Awesome! You're really warming up now!"
"It's about time Dawn started running the shoe out there!" Sora said. Ursula growled.
"She should realize the Aqua Ribbon isn't a toy. Gabite! Dragon Rage!" Ursula ordered. Gabite unleashed unleashes Dragon Rage and sends it right at Pachirisu.
"Quick! Spark!" Dawn ordererd. Pachirisu dashed at Gabite's Dragon Rage and overpowered it, resulting in an explosion. Pachirisu's efforts cuts into Ursula's points.
"Dragon Claw!" Ursula ordered. Gabite comes at Pachirisu with Dragon Claw. Pachirisu blocked Gabite's attack with her tail.
"What's this?! Pachirisu is using its tail to stop Gabite's Dragon Claw! I never seen anything like this! brave and courageous! Simply amazing!" Marian announced. The clock has one minute remaining.
"Way to go! That's showing them, Pachirisu!" Dawn cheered.
"Look at that! Pachirisu was able to do that because she was able to store so much electricity in her tail. I guess being an Electric-type pays off in a big way," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
Mamoswine was silently amazed by what he was seeing.
"Thirty seconds left on the clock!" Marian announced.
"Stone Edge, let's go!" Gabite unleashes Stone Edge at Pachirisu again. The stones surrounds Pachirisu, alerting her.
"Quick! Get your tail up!" Dawn called out. Pachirisu raises her tail and creates a forcefield and obliterating the stones. "Yeah, now that's what I'm talking about! Let's use Super Fang!" Pachirisu lunged at Gabite with a Super Fang.
"I'm through giving up points! Gabite! Use Dragon Rage!" Ursula ordered. Gabite fired another Dragon Rage, so Pachirisu curled into a ball, giving off blue sparks from her body and cuts through Gabite's Dragon Rage like butter and lands a heavy blow onto Gabite, cutting into Ursula's points once again. The clock has run out.
"Time's up! Who gets the Chocovine Ribbon?!" Marian asked. The computer shows that Dawn has a little more points than Ursula does. "And the winner is Dawn!" The crowd cheers on.
"Yes, we won!" Dawn cheered as Pachirisu ran up to Dawn, and embraced each other. "Pachirisu, we won! We really won!" Ursula just huffed, refusing to accept Dawn won it by her skills.
"A perfect example of being saved by the bell," Ursula said. Gabite approached her. "Dear Gabite, you were just amazing out there."
"Gabite," Gabite said.
"I knew you'd do it, Dawn," Lucas said.
"Now, she only needs one more Ribbon," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"You think it gave Mamoswine some inspiring?" Kairi asked.
"Vee?" Angel asked.
"I think it did. Mamoswine will come around eventually," Sora said.
Dawn stood before the judges as she is presented her fourth Contest Ribbon.
"Here's Mr. Contesta to present our big winner with Chocovine Ribbbon to Dawn!" Marian announced.
"Congratulations again, much luck in the future!" Contesta said. Dawn accepts her Ribbon.
"Thanks," Dawn said.
"And with that, ladies and gentlemen, we bring the curtain down on another exciting action-packed Chocovine Town Contest! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, and I'll see you all next time!" Marian announced.
After the contest has concluded, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup prepared to continue on their journey.
"Four down, one to go," Sora said.
"Congratulations, Dawn," Kairi said.
"Thank you, everyone. I couldn't have done it without your help," Dawn said.
"And since the Contest is over and done with, the next stop will be Snowpoint City," Lucas said.
"Yeah, and to Lake Acuity before that," Kairi said.
"You're right. Riku, Ash, and the others should already be waiting for us there by now anyway," Sora said. They noticed Ursula ahead of them.
"Ursula," Dawn said. She stopped and glared at Dawn.
"You won't get any compliments out of me. Not a chance! But, you did a good job, I guess," Ursula said as she took her leave.
"She took that better than I thought," Sora said.
"But a part of her is still sore about getting Poison Jabbed by Croagunk," Kairi giggled. Angel giggled as well.
And so, the journey toward Snowpoint City continues as Sora and Lucas makes some plans to battle agsinst the Gym Leader there. But what sort of adventures or misadventures could be around the corner? Find out as we press on.
