Chapter 633 Final Touches
"
Tara looked at the pictures and was pleased. These pictures would destroy Jax and Scarlett's relationship. It would hurt them both for awhile, but they would get over it. Jax was infatuated with Scarlett's beauty and charm, but that wasn't the basis of a real relationship.
Jax and Scarlett didn't have the strong historical connection she and Jax had. They were destined to be together. That high school love was over and done with. Her love for Jax was now a mature love that would last forever and, after a few weeks of heartbreak, Jax would fall back in love with her.
It wasn't fair for Scarlett to get the new and improved version of Jax. He was now the man she always hoped he would become and he treated Scarlett like a queen. He'd stood up for her to Gemma and banned the crow-eaters from touching him. She'd always wanted him to do that for her, but he never had. She always believed that he enjoyed the crow-eaters touching on him and making her jealous.
Jax wasn't the only new and improved version. She was a new and improved version of herself. She wasn't the crazy, insecure Tara of the high school days. Back then, everyone made her feel that Jax shouldn't be with her because he was so much more attractive and he could do so much better than nerdy, misfit Tara Knowles. Her brains didn't matter back in high school. If anything, they were a hindrance.
She wasn't cheerleader pretty or crow-eater slutty pretty back then. She had quit wearing her hair in that horrible short bob and learned how to apply make-up and, most importantly, she no longer wore turquoise eye shadow. She was thinner than high school. Her breasts were too small, but she wasn't about to put implants in her body. Instead, she relied on a push up bra to enhance what she had. She was the best version of herself. She may not have Scarlett's beauty, but she was pretty—something she only dreamed of achieving back in high school.
She was sure that as a neonatal surgeon, she earned far more money than Scarlett. Of course, that wasn't important to Jax. He was old school and thought a man should be the primary provider for his family and would never live off his wife. He'd made that clear when she talked about her dreams of becoming a surgeon.
Aren't you supposed to fight for love with everything you have inside you? That's all she was doing. It might be underhanded and morally wrong, but how else was she supposed to break up Jax and Scarlett? She could wait for it to happen organically, but that could take a long time—months or even years. She wasn't about to wait that long to get Jax back and begin their lives together. And she wanted a baby in the next year or so.
She was doing a terrible thing, but in the end, after some time passed, everyone would be much happier.
All she had to do was not get caught when she put her plan into effect in a few days.
