A/N: Written during the Summer 2024 Olympics. A tiny bit of Densi fluff.
"Kens, it's about to start!" Deeks called out, eyes glued to the TV as the Olympic theme played and commentators introduced the next round women's gymnastics qualifications.
"The popcorn's almost ready!" Kensi shouted back. A minute later, she came from the kitchen toting a massive bowl of popcorn. Two beers, pizza rolls, and a selection of chips were already displayed on the table, within easy reach.
"Who do you think's going to make it to the All Around?" Deeks asked, looking away since the camera was currently panning over the gymnasts stretching, drinking water, and chatting.
"I mean, Simone Biles seems likely, but there's a lot of other women who are so good," Kensi replied, and Deeks nodded at her diplomatic response.
"So, you won't be shouting at the judges in a few minutes when they make a deduction you don't like?"
"I just call what I see. It's not my fault that they're apparently blind and poorly trained." She punctuated her statement with a loud crunch of a chip.
"Ooh, that's unfortunate. I hope she's ok," Deeks commented sometime later when a gymnast fell during one of her tumbling passes.
"Yeah, it looked like she landed on her neck. Why are you making that face?"
Tilting his head to the side as the next gymnast prepared to start, Deeks explained, "I'm trying to decide if I would prefer this, where I'd potentially break my neck or leg on a daily basis if I happened to slip, or weekly bombs exploding around me."
Kensi considered him for a moment, tucking her bottom lip between her teeth. "Well, you're certainly flexible enough," she commented, and nearly spit out the mouthful of beer he'd just taken.
"I'll keep that in mind next time you criticize my Pilates."
"I would—oh come on, that was perfect! Where do you see a deduction there?" Kensi shouted at the TV without warning; Deeks just grinned, letting her rant at the judges while he took the opportunity to eat a few pizza rolls. When she was done, he calmly offered her a bag of chips.
"Feel better now?"
"Yes." She smiled serenely. "As long as they don't make any more stupid calls."
"Reason 3,042 why I love you," Deeks said, watching Kensi react.
