DogDay was furious. he'd known he was switching high schools this year for months. his parents had told him that but not why. why were they switching him from a normal public school to a magic boarding school? did they not want him? was this a cruel, malicious joke? what had he done to deserve this?

the moment he was alone in his new dorm he snapped and broke down, punching and kicking the walls. somehow even managing to flip over the bed, frame and all.

he only stopped when he heard thunder. he first assumed it was from outside but when he felt the rain on his fur he realized it was inside the room.

DogDay looked up at the thundercloud hiding the ceiling. he was a tiger orange dog critter with the lower half of his face and his stomach butter yellow and his paws and ears yam orange. he wore a cream yellow tank-top, tan beige cargo-shorts, a tan beige utility belt, black fingerless-gloves and soft marmalade orange sneakers.

"I know your mad but some of us are trying to sleep. at least Cat Nap has the decency to be quiet" someone complained from the now open entrance.

he looked over to see a green rabbit critter dressed in a black swimsuit and bright yellow raincoat.

"who are you?" DogDay muttered.

"I'm from next door. sorry about your room but that's what you get for interrupting everyone's sleep" the girl scowled, thunder lighting up the dark room.
how long had he been rampaging?

"what time is it?" he asked.

"its 10 at night god d-mn it!" someone yelled from the other side of the wall next to him.

"oh you know your in trouble when Bubba starts swearing" the girl laughed, the storm calming down.

"whats your powers?" DogDay asked, dropping to his knees.

"my emotions control the weather. its why my pajamas is just a swimsuit. its late and Bobby is not fun when she hasn't slept so you should go to bed. names Hoppy by the way" the girl, Hoppy explained before waving goodbye and closing the door.

that was when DogDay noticed his exhaustion and passed out on the floor, surrounded by the few pieces of furniture and his pair of suitcases.

when he woke up he got out his bathroom supplies from his suitcase and went to the shared dorm bathrooms. when he got there he was confronted with a few others.

"hey there. you're the new kid right? that was quite the tantrum last night. I only heard Hoppy like that once and she basically flooded her dorm!" the pink pig critter said, gesturing to Hoppy with her toothbrush.

"hey!" the rabbit critter in question squeaked. when DogDay looked at her he saw she was a lime green with her paws, the tips of her ears and her tail forest green. she was wearing an apple green tank-top, fawn green gym-shorts, fern green soft sneakers and basil green cloth around her wrists and ankles. around her neck was a yellow lightning bolt pendant.

"anyways what's your name?" the pig critter continued as DogDay scanned her features. she was a rose pink with her hooves and the inside of her ears taffy pink. she wore a jade green A-line-dress, a pear green bandana around her neck and a parakeet green cooking-apron with emerald green herb embroidery. peeping out from under her bandana was a red apple pendant.

"where are your shoes?" DogDay questioned, pointing at her bare feet.

"she refuses to wear them!" an elephant critter complained. he was a sky blue elephant critter except his hooves, the inside of his ears and the end of his tail which were cobalt blue. DogDay noticed the scars on the skin attaching his trunk to his face. the blue critter wore a chiffon white buttoned-up shirt paired with lapis blue pants and chiffon white socks hidden by azure blue loafers. decorating his neck was a yellow and blue light bulb pendant.

"why do you refuse to wear shoes?" DogDay asked.

"because every part of my body tells me not to" the pig critter rolled her eyes before squirting toothpaste on the toothbrush in her hand.

"back on topic, what's your name?" the chicken critter at the farthest sink interrupted. he looked to be all macaroon yellow except his tangerine orange feet and beak. he was wearing a sandstone orange sweater with camel beige board-shorts and cinnamon brown loafers, a silver charm bracelet of many symbols decorating his left wrist and the feathers atop his head swept back. matching one of the charms on his bracelet was an orange star pendant around his neck.

"I'm DogDay" the dog critter replied.

"what are your powers?" he continued with a question.

"Kickin' coughs stardust" Hoppy began.

"guilty as charged" the chicken critter, Kickin' interrupted.

"Picky is part plant" Hoppy continued.

"allegedly!" the pig critter, Picky added.

"I saw you drink a whole jug of water instead of having lunch last month!" Kickin' replied.

"I get dehydrated easily" Picky whimpered.

"it was a whole jug!" Kickin' practically yelled.

"anyways, Bubba can see in the dark like all the lights are on" Hoppy continued.

"its called night vision" the elephant critter, Bubba replied.

"and I already told you my power" Hoppy smiled, a rainbow above her head.

"I was barely awake I do not remember that" DogDay deadpanned.

the rainbow was instantly replaced with a small cloud as Hoppy strained a smile.

"her emotions control the weather" someone behind DogDay replied, making him almost jump out of his skin.

he spun around to find a bear critter giving a wide smile. all of her fur was crimson red except for her light colored upper lip and paws. she was wearing a stone beige t-shirt, a ruby red knee-length jacket with stone beige lining, her black cloth belt standing out against her knee-high blood red boots. she wore a similar pendant to the others, only hers was a red heart.

"who are you?" DogDay asked, fidgeting with the toothbrush in his paw.

"I'm Bobby! I've got healing powers!" the bear critter, Bobby introduced herself with a smile.

"what are yours?" Bobby asked, holding out her paw.

DogDay stared for a moment before pushing past her outside and running back to his dorm.

"how am I going to handle this place?" he whispered to himself.
