TW: Glad you enjoyed it. Yep. The writers and showrunners, Guggenheim in particular, seemed to have this weird obsession with Emily/Felicity and as a result, the characters across the Arrowverse seem to have to act like Felicity was the best thing since sliced bread and was the best at everything she did.

Gallifrey 22.3: Thank you. Glad to hear it.

Just Visiting: Cool.

St. Louise's Orphanage

Mid-Morning

"There were never any pictures of me before I was five," Tess said as she continued following Goodness.

"That's because they didn't have you then. I did," Goodness said simply.

"It wasn't a dream. It was a memory," Tess realized. "You were chasing me. You were hurting me."

"My child, I could never hurt you. I've always loved you," Goodness denied and Tess, out of patience, stepped in Goodness' path.

"Stop it, and tell me the truth! Who am I? What happened to me?" Tess demanded.

"Do you think I wanted to say goodbye to you? I was already training you. You had so much promise. Then your birth parents found you a home, forced my hand. They sent you far away, told me to forget about it," Goodness told her and Tess was silent for a long moment, processing this.

"My birth parents. Who were they?"

"They were powerful. They would've closed us down if I'd fought back, but I never stopped watching you. When I heard you were in that hospital, I couldn't let you die. I had to save you, my dear girl," Goodness said and the realization washed over Tess.

"You're how Ross got me, you sent me to The Raft."

"The dear Secretary has been useful over the years to Lord Darkseid. He has access to certain technology; technology I knew could save your life. And he and his scientists did a remarkable job. You can't even see the scar," Goodness noted as she reached out, tracing the side of Tess' face that had been burned by Zod.

Overwhelmed, Tess angrily slapped her hand away. Goodness' face hardened and she walked ahead of Tess.

"Abuse is a difficult cycle to break, even for a strong woman. But nothing can break you. I always knew you were stronger than any girl I'd chosen before. You were always my favorite. You see, I'm your true family," Goodness said delusional and Tess stared at her in bewilderment.

"Why don't I remember? Why don't I remember my real parents?" Tess demanded as she followed Goodness.

"You don't need to remember. Look at everything you've accomplished on your own," Goodness dismissed.

"Why are you coming after me now?" Tess asked.

"With your power, we'll accomplish great things. And very soon, my girl, lines will be drawn," Goodness said stopping as she turned to face Tess. "Believe me; you'll be glad to have me on your side. Of course, it would have been better if you'd come alone. But don't worry; my girls will take care of your friends."

"Where are they? What did you do to them?" Tess demanded, all sort of horrible scenarios flashing through her mind as she moved passed Goodness.

"I've had quite enough of that horrible behavior."

Goodness flicked her wrist and Tess went flying, crashing through a nearby nightstand. A lamp fell as it broke and Tess grunted in pain. As she saw Goodness approaching, Tess got to her feet, spotting a nearby phone and running towards it. But it was an older style, she'd have to put in the number slowly. But before Tess could get far, the phone flew off the desk, landing by Goodness' feet.

Tess ran down the hall, running into a room, which she tried to barricade with a door. Tess then ran to a window, frantically trying to open it but it wouldn't budge.

Behind her, the chair shattered into a million pieces before the door was forced open. Tess whirled around, backing away fearfully as Goodness entered the room.

"None of my girls ever leave me," Goodness said, waving her hand and the room darkened as bars appeared over them. "I lost your broken soul once. I am not going to let you go again. I have plans for you, Tess. You will be my most valuable soldier in the coming war. Whether you want to be or not."

Goodness then walked out of the room, the door seeming to close automatically behind her. Tess immediately raced forward, trying to push the door open but, like the window it would not budge.

"Nighty-night," Goodness' voice said from the other side. "It's good to have you home. Back in your old room!"

At this, Tess walked around the room and spotted 'somebody save me' engraved on the side of the bed frame.

Steve watched the girls train for a moment longer before a whip wrapped itself around his wrist and he was yanked forward and landed at the feet of one of the women.

"Spy!" she hissed.

"We don't have to do this. I can help you," Steve tried to reason.

"The only one that needs help is you!"

The girl attempted to stab him with a gauntlet on her hand that had five claws made of steel. Steve rolled out of the way before yanking on the whip around his wrist, sending her flying. She crashed into the forge with such force that it tipped over, spilling its contents onto the floor. Steve stood up, finding himself surrounded by the other women.

"Odds don't seem fair," Steve noted.

"Then surrender, let us bring you before Granny," one of the girls said.

"I meant it wasn't fair to you," Steve clarified.

The girls rushed him, one attempting to strike him with a sword but Steve dodged, sending a kick to her abdomen that sent her flying. Steve then picked up the fallen sword, using it to block a strike from one of the other woman, the sword blocking a knife. Steve pushed her back before head-butting her, heard enough to knock her out. Only one remained and she rushed him but Steve grabbed her wrist before elbowing her in the face, knocking her out cold.

Steve tossed the sword to the floor, looking around the room when a voice spoke behind him.

"Well done, Captain," he turned around to see Goodness standing behind him. "You would have made a fine soldier for Lord Darkseid. But alas, even at your worst, you remain sadly incorruptible."

"What does Darkseid want with these girls?" Steve demanded and she smiled wickedly.

"A story for another time. I'm afraid I can't have hurting my girls anymore," Goodness said as she looked at the unconscious women.

"I hurt them? You take away their memories, you brainwash them and turn them into your soldiers. I don't think you're in any position to judge," Steve said in disgust.

"I take away their pain so that they won't be sad anymore. Just as I could do for you. You are an abandoned soul. Your own country turned your back on you, don't you want to forget? I can take that all away," Goodness tried to tempt him but Steve remained firm.

"Pain is part of life. Loss, heartbreak, betrayal, it's what makes us who we are. I wouldn't be who I am without those experiences," Steve said firmly.

"Even now, you remain untempted. So unlike your friend, Tony Stark," Goodness said and now she had Steve's attention.

"What did you do to him?"

"It was he who opened the door. So consumed by his own darkness, he was unable to help but be marked. Lord Darkseid has plans for him, but you need not worry. It's not time just yet. And thank you for returning Tess to us," Granny said with a wicked smile and Steve started.

"Tess. What have you done to her?" Steve demanded.

Tess dug around, finding the key she had made as a child, exactly where she left it. Tess quickly used it to open the door and ran out, down the hall. Tess began making her way down the stairs when she noticed one of Granny's girls standing in her path.

"Move it or lose it, sister," Tess retorted with confidence she didn't truly feel.

She rushed down the steps and attempted to move passed the girl but she shoved Tess, attempting to strike Tess. Tess dodged, but just barely. The months in The Raft had largely reduced her muscle tone and so she was slowly and weaker than she had been.

Still, she managed to grab the woman's wrist as she tried to strike her before kneeing the woman in the abdomen, sending her head crashing through a glass door behind her. Tess then turned to run but a whip wrapped around her neck and she was yanked back. Tess hit her head on the stairs, getting knocked out as another of Granny's girls stood over her.

The girl moved towards Tess but that was when Steve rushed onto the scene, tackling her away from Tess. She pushed him off, attempting to strike Steve but he grabbed the end of the whip and yanked. The girl was pulled close to Steve and he pulled the whip around of her hand before putting her in a chokehold. The woman struggled futilely but eventually, her strikes stopped as she passed out. Steve dropped her to the floor before rushing over to Tess.

"Tess, are you okay? Tess?" Steve called, gently shaking her and she blinked as she started to regain consciousness.

"Steve?" she asked groggily before Steve helped her up.

"You okay? You don't look like you have a concussion," Steve said as he checked her over.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Tess said, glancing over at the unconscious women. "Thanks. I thought I had that. I'm so used to having to handle things on my own."

"You don't have to anymore. That's what being part of a team is, you rely on your teammates to help you, to share the burden. And we won't ever abandon you. I don't leave my friends behind," Steve promised, smirking slightly at an inside joke. "And I'm always honest."

Metropolis

Same time

Thunder struck as several guards played cards in a warehouse.

"Damn, thought it was supposed to be sunny today," one of muttered as he played a jack.

"Who cares? It's not like we can do anything anyway. Can't believe we're stuck babysitting some middle aged woman," another muttered.

"The boss has use of you, so we'll do what he says," an older man with a beard said as he approached.

"Yeah yeah, we know Nylander."

"Then stop your moping and do your job," Nylander told them.

Miles above, in the Black Bird, Rogue piloted it as Storm used her powers to make storm clouds. Behind them, Gambit geared up as Kitty, Bobby, Logan, Oliver, Sara, Clint and Natasha got ready.

"You ready for this, hot shot?" Logan asked Gambit dryly.

"I didn't know my daddy, but I'm pretty sure I shot out of his dick ready," Gambit said confidently and they all shot him slightly disgusted looks.

"Please stop saying stuff like that," Rogue said annoyed and Gambit smirked.

"Anything for you, Chère," Gambit flirted, causing Logan to glare at him and Rogue to sigh.

"Kurt, Sam, are you in position?" Natasha asked over the Comms.

"We're all quiet over here. Red Wing scanned the building; there are about two dozen guards, maybe more. Bobbi's mother is placed in the back of the building," Sam's voice told them.

"Then let's do this. Nightcrawler, you're up," Oliver said.

Within a second, Kurt appeared in a puff of smoke. He reached out a hand and Gambit grasped it before the two vanished in another puff of smoke.

Inside the warehouse, Kurt and Gambit appeared on a higher level, looking down at the guards and Nylander. Gambit turned to Kurt, gave him a single and Kurt nodded, disappearing in another puff of smoke. Gambit smirked, looking down at the guards and Nylander again before walking off, as silent as a cat.

Dinah was tied to a chair, a collar that repressed her powers around her neck. Two guards stood a few feet away, playing cards.

Then, suddenly, a King of Spades flew down from the ceiling, landing on the table. They paused, noticing it was glowing bright red before it exploded, destroying the table and sending them flying back. Gambit then jumped down, whirling his staff, striking one of the guards in the chest. The guard screamed as his staff burned a hole through chest. Gambit then pulled out a playing card, charged it with energy before throwing at the other guard. The other guard had barely started to sit up when it hit him in the joint between his shoulder and neck. Barely a second passed before the card exploded, killing him.

The guards taken care of, Gambit put away his staff and walked over to Dinah, who looked up at him definitely.

"Who the Hell are you and what do you want?" she demanded.

"I'm a, shall we say, friends of your friends, Carter, Jay, and Logan," Gambit said and Dinah looked at him sharply. "Let get that collar off you, no?"

Gambit knelt pulled out his staff, and lightly tapped the end of it against the collar. Within a second, the center had been burned through and Gambit was able to remove it.

"Good. Now let's get out of here," Gambit said as he began untying Dinah.

"I hope you have an escape plan, because this place is full of guards, and I'm not as young as I used to be," Dinah warned as Gambit untied her.

"Relax, Mon amie. Gambit not working alone," Gambit said with a smirk.

"Hey, where'd all the weapons go?" a guard asked as he walked out into the main room, Nylander and the other guards looking at him oddly.

"They're where they always are," Nylander said slowly, as though the guard was stupid.

"No, they're not. I was just in there, they're all gone," the guard insisted.

"Hey, where'd the guns we just had go!?" another guard demanded as they all realized they were gone.

"They were just dropped off at Metropolis PD, cutesy of the Blur," the two dozen guards, including Nylander, looked up to see The Arrow, Canary, Logan, Clint, Sam, Natasha, Bobby, and Kitty standing several feet away. "So, who's in charge here?"

As one, the other guards all pointed at Nylander.

St. Louise's

No long after

Steve and Tess stood a few feet away; the girls all loaded into police cars. Matt had gotten the girl he and Steve had saved to the police, who then rounded up a SWAT Team and went storming in.

Tess watched as the younger girls were all taken away in the back of a van, on their way to social services.

"They'll be okay. They have a chance to live a normal life now," Steve told her, as if sensing where her thoughts were. "And her soldiers will be in jail for a while, hopefully enough time to be deprogramed."

"And Granny?" Tess asked.

"I went looking for you when I knew you were in trouble. The police couldn't find any sign of her," Steve told her.

"Neither could I," Matt said as he walked over, having searched the place. "She didn't leave a scent behind, even Logan couldn't track her."

"Just like at Watchtower," Tess noted and Matt nodded.

"Watchtower is compromised, but unfortunately, there's nothing we can do," Steve said grimly before turning to Tess. "How are you doing?"

"I don't even know how to put it into words. My entire life was a lie. I don't even know what to do with it. What if my parents were terrible people?" Tess fretted. "What kind of people turn their back on their child?"

"I thought the worst of my father for a long time, blamed him for leaving me alone. I blamed my mother for abandoning us. Then, I found her a few years ago, and hearing her side of things…she was just someone in over her head, trying to do the best she could," Matt said and they both turned to him. "Whatever the truth about your parents is…you don't have to let it define you."

"You can't ignore the past, Tess. I've tried," Steve said with a grimace, remembering his cowardice in refusing to look into Zola's claims about Howard's death. "You have to look it in the eye and face it."

"I don't even know where to start," Tess admitted.

"We have Chloe and the world's best spy. You're going through this alone, Tess," Steve promised.

Metropolis

Same time

"Where is he?" Oliver demanded as he, Sara and Logan surrounded the tied up Nylander, the others standing guard over Nylander's restrained men. "Where is Prometheus? Or Kane Wolfman, Joe Wilson, whichever he prefers."

"Afraid I can't help you. The boss doesn't like to keep us underlings in the loop. Especially not when everything is going exactly as he planned," Nylander mocked.

"You sure about that? Because we just took you down before you could even fire a shot," Sara pointed out.

"You think he didn't foresee that? He's been watching Bobbi Morse ever since he abducted her. He knew about the message she sent you," Nylander said, smirking at the look of shock that crossed their faces. "Kane is not Hydra, he doesn't underestimate his enemies. He knew Morse would find a way to get you to understand her situation. And by now, he's figured out that this operation has been compromised. Which means he only has one use left for your woman, Oliver Queen."

In an unspecified location, Bobbi fired a gun, hitting a target a few feet away, dead center. She lowered her gun, staring at it for a moment before she felt someone behind her. Whirling around, Bobbi caught China White's wrist, stopping the blade inches from her face.

They struggled for a moment before Bobbi forced White over to a wall, slamming the hand with a knife there before head-butting White, forcing her to drop the knife before Bobbi delivered a jab, forcing White to her knees and putting the white haired woman in a chokehold. White pulled out another knife as she struggled but Bobbi jumped away before delivering a spinning kick to the other woman's face before slugging White, knocking her out.

Bobbi breathed heaving, knowing the only reason Kane would send White after her was if her mother was safe. Grabbing the two knives, Bobbi jumped to her feet and ran from the room, only to find a large, burley man blocking her path.

"Sorry, Girlie, you're not going anywhere," Sabretooth said with a smirk.

Bobbi swore, knowing she couldn't get passed him. Bobbi was trying to come up with a plan when she felt something hit her in the neck. Pulling it out, she saw it was a syringe as someone jumped down a few feet away from her.

"You're not leaving. The boss has something planned for you," Ben Poindexter, or Dex as he preferred, smirked before Bobbi fell to her knees, her vision swimming as the sedative took effect.

"Assholes," was Bobbi's last word before she fell to the floor, out cold.

"Where is she? Where is my daughter?!" Logan snarled as he grabbed Nylander by the shirt and the Australian laughed.

"Kane has her now. And whatever happens to her now is on you," Nylander mocked.

Snarling, Logan summoned the claws on one hand and was about to cut off Nylander's head when Sara grabbed his hand.

"Not yet. We might still be able to use him to find Bobbi. It's not over yet, Logan," Sara said calmly and Logan growled.

The father in him wanted to ignore her and cut of Nylander's head. But a voice in the back of his mind that sounded suspiciously like Charles said what Sara said made sense. So, reluctantly, Logan retreated his claws.

"She just saved your life for the moment. Thank her," Logan said before tossing him aside and Nylander landed on the ground with an 'oof'.

"Jimmy?"

Logan froze, the voice familiar to him in brief flashes of memory that he had of Bobbi's childhood. He turned around, seeing Dinah arrive with Gambit. She stared at him, her blue eyes shocked as she drank him. He was doing the same thing.

Her hair had darkened either a result of him or an attempt to hide her identity, Logan wasn't sure. But her eyes remained the same. And while she had aged, he could see a bit of the woman he had loved enough to want to marry in her face.

"I go by Logan now. Hi, Dinah," Logan said softly, the two staring at each other.

"Why so tense? What did Gambit miss?" Gambit asked as he looked around, noticing the tension.

The others exchanged a wary glance, not sure how to tell Bobbi's mother than in saving her, they might have doomed her daughter.

The present day version of Dinah would be played by Lori Loughlin. Thanks to Aragorn II Elessar for the suggestion.

Sabretooth and Dex are now working with Kane, and the fact that he is now gathering villains that have a personal connection to Oliver's allies is, as you can guess, no coincidence.

We're getting closer and closer to the endgame, so stay tuned.
