Her voice was trained, but it wasn't without its faults.

Erik stared up at his ceiling as he listened to the special gift from the system in the form of Lyra singing to him to sleep. Instead it sent his mind in a frenzy thinking of all that untapped potential.

When her voice whispered, "Sleep well, OG." His heart pounded in his ears, and he wished she'd say his real name. He shook his head. There was no sense in getting attached, this Lyra would be like every other woman. Even the kindest soul turned away from seeing his visage.

Still, as days passed, he found himself back to hearing the lullaby over and over, wondering if he could teach her to refine her craft. Would she accept his help? Why should he care if she didn't or not?

He entered correspondence and noticed a new feature: they could now talk to each other in real time if he so wished. It was as if the system knew his plans again. He didn't know whether to be impressed or suspicious, perhaps both.

Deciding on regular correspondence for now.

OG: You need a teacher to refine your talent. You have potential.

Lyra: I was trained classically, but I suppose I might have gotten rusty over the last year or so.

OG: I will teach you.

Lyra: :) I see. Well, I'm not in a place where I can practice without disrupting others. I am saving up for my own place. Thankfully, the system has been giving me some money when I complete quests, but it will still be a little while before I can afford a small studio.

OG: I will await your response when you are better accommodated.

Lyra: Thank you, OG.

Checking his quests, he noticed he was still on only Level 2; this would not do. Erik excelled in everything. He would make sure he excelled in this system as well.

Having checked the terminologies they'd given him, Erik understood he'd be able to see Lyra for the first time. He couldn't push down quickly enough the surge of something close to joy that came from being able to see his...what was Lyra?

He would think of it another day.

For now, he would have to think of something to give to Lyra. She needed a place to stay where she could practice her music. Perhaps he could help quicken up that process.
