Prompts: Amusement park/ Role reversal/ "you got away with the crime while the knife is in my back"
Summary: Warriors was just being paranoid. The others were right there was nothing wrong with Wild. So why did something deep in his gut keeping tell him there was?
A/N: Hey! So, this may be just a little bit more than a little late- I was super busy in October, so I had decided to write the prompts and then post them later. Surprisingly I had finished a good majority of the prompts in October but never got around to posting them- oops. So now I have had 30 finished Whumptober Fics that have just been waiting to be posted for months. So, here's one of them! Enjoy!
Warriors had always been paranoid since the war. It was a fact he knew. It was thanks to many of his own soldiers turning against him, but he was starting to think his paranoia was getting out of hand.
The Chain had been wondering around the same area clueless on what they were supposed to be doing for weeks. And for the past several nights he had been having an off feeling about Wild.
Something the cook did must have set his paranoia off and ever since he had been having trouble around him.
Warriors wasn't even sure what was the cause, all he knew was that there was something different about the champion.
Like he said, paranoid.
No one else seemed to be having the same troubles and Warriors couldn't accuse Wild of anything if he didn't even know what was wrong himself. So, he settled for keeping a close eye on the champ hoping to prove himself wrong.
But the more he watched the easier it was to realize that there was something just slightly off about the cook that wouldn't let Wild rest.
it had even got to the point that Warriors decided that he was going to prepare his own meals because he just couldn't get himself to trust Wild. And oh, how that set off the rest of the links anger.
Apparently, they had picked up on his behavior towards the champion and were not happy about it.
After a heated debate in which Warriors was heavily teamed up against, they decided to let him do his own thing. Things only started to get worse from there.
Wild started acting even more strange, which the others put off as his reaction towards Warrior's paranoia.
Soon after it finally got to a point where Warriors couldn't handle it anymore and snapped accusing Wild of being a traitor. By the time Warriors had finished up his rant Wild was on the ground head buried in his hands, as the others leapt towards his defense.
Warriors was then lectured on being overly paranoid and unfair to Wild. After that Warriors was practically made an outcast to the group and over the next several days was either ignored or sent harsh glares.
Besides something in his gut still churning at Wild- Warriors pushed past his fear for the betterment of the group and went up to ask for forgiveness.
Everyone else was busy around camp so no one noticed when him and Wild stepped out to talk privately about the matter at Wilds request.
Wild ended up leading them to what seemed to be some kind of abandoned amusement park, that the group had passed some weeks ago. Something tight grew in his chest at the eeriness of the location and he had to remind himself that he was with Wild and was safe.
The place was oddly silent besides the persistent banging from what must have been some sort of trapped wild animal. Wild led him through the rusted rides before stopping in front of a Ferris wheel, that once must have been the center of the park.
Oddly, enough the park must have been magically getting some sort of power because every few seconds one of the light posts would flicker.
"Wild, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I don't know why but something in relation to you is setting off my... issues. I'm working to deal with it I promise." Warriors started refusing to look up at the brother he was hurting.
"Oh?" Wilds voice said sounding way off and a little to amused, "Well I guess I should congratulate you for being the only one to notice."
Warriors snapped his head up just in time to watch Wilds face twist into a wicked grin.
"Really I thought for sure it would be that Ranch-dog. Honestly kudos to you. Unfortunately, you didn't listen to your instincts and well now that will be your end."
Without warning Wild rushed him and Warriors realized all too late that he had left behind all his weaponry in an effort at peace. The dagger Wild held was soon piercing through his back as he gasped and fell to the ground in defeat.
The blade must have been laced with something because Warriors was finding it all too hard to move- that or Wild did more damage with the stab then he was hoping for.
"Don't worry it's just a little something to make sure you'll stay here all nice and cozy as you slowly bleed out." Wild said with a cheer.
"Wild- how could you?" Warriors choked out in a pained betrayal.
"Oh, still haven't quite caught on? Hmm... lookup Captain."
Warriors pushed himself to look up and followed to where Wild was pointing. Squinting up at one of the Ferris wheels carriages he noticed it shaking. With a closer look he noticed someone inside.
Not just anyone, someone familiar.
From what Warriors could tell Wild was gagged and beaten bloody persistently banging against the metal frame. With wide eyes Warriors focused back to the Wild on the ground. His face was merging into the shadows as he briefly shifted into Dark Link before returning back to Wild's form.
"Oh, the look on your face!" Dark Link laughed with glee,
"Yes, yes. Last time you guys were around here a couple weeks back I managed to capture your little friend up there and take his place. Killing him would've been too easy no I decided I wanted him to watch as I lured you in one by one. And once you're all dead I'll let him finally starve to death. Imagine I get to take you all out one by one!"
Warriors fought to stand up and stop Dark Link before he could trick anyone else but found himself unable to, thanks to both the bloodless and whatever the blade was laced with.
"Stop struggling hero. You're too weak to stop this!" With that Dark Link turned around still disguised as Wild and took off.
As Warriors began to lose the battle with consciousness, he heard the shadow unite with the others.
"Where's Warriors?" Somone who he was pretty sure was Legend questioned.
"He was trying to accuse me of being a traitor again- and then he tried to fight me. He ended up just storming off saying he didn't want to stay with a group that housed the likes of me... Why- what did I do?" The fake cried.
Angry protests rose from the chain and Warriors was glad he was too out of it to make out what they were probably saying about him.
Slowly he heard the group of hero's move further away and by the time he lost consciousness the only sound was the sound of Wild's continuous banging ringing in his ears.
A/N: Continued day 20!
I hope you enjoyed! Like I previously stated up above I have all of the prompts written so hopefully it won't take me too long to post them like I've been meaning to for a while, lol. No promises.
Thanks for reading!
