The day finally came. The day all the students of the Twelfth Grade in Spoonerville High School wanted to arrive finally arrived. It was the day when they not only finished the Twelfth Grade but also finished high school completely. They were all very happy about it, especially Max and Lisa.

Max was very glad that he managed to finally finish high school. Despite graduating as a C student, he was very glad that his grades didn't decline further and he didn't have to retake any grades at all, especially the Twelfth Grade which was the very hardest grade he ever took in his life. Even though he went from the biggest loser to one of the most popular guys – if not the most popular guy – ever in Spoonerville High School during his four years there, his grades and his attitude towards schoolwork didn't change and yet he persisted through it and he was just glad that his persistence and all his hard work all paid off in the end.

Lisa was also very glad that she finally managed to complete high school and not had to retake the Twelfth Grade at all, which was harder than the Eleventh Grade and she was stuck in that grade for three years. And she thought the main reason she passed the Twelfth Grade was because she had Max with her and he did help her a lot with her schoolwork to his very best ability. Despite Max being a C student and he didn't like schoolwork any more than she did, she found him to be a better teacher than the professionally trained teachers teaching at the school. She thought that was because he was able to explain things more clearly to help her understand without making her feel stupid.

One the day after their last day of school, Max and Lisa went to Spoonerville Lake by riding Lisa's horses Sean and Jenny and they had one of their very special picnics to celebrate finishing high school.

Once again, Lisa made a lot of delicious sandwiches, a delicious salad, baked a chocolate cake, brought a bag of potato chips, cheese and biscuits, a lot of fruit and a bottle of lemonade that she made herself.

Despite the excellent food and lemonade, Lisa didn't eat or drink much and she looked very sad.

"Is something the matter, Lisa?" Max asked.

She sighed. "I'm sorry, Max. I'm so very sorry."

"What for?" Max asked.

"I'm afraid I have to leave Spoonerville."

That shocked Max a lot. "What?"

"Yeah. I just found out last night that my parents are moving to Philadelphia so my dad can oversee a new branch that he's opening up for his business and they want me to move there with them. Even though I graduated as a D student, they managed to get me into the University of Pennsylvania – I imagine they paid them a lot of money to accept me. It's a very good one and they have a lot of good majors I've enrolled in and I'm excited to study, but I really don't want to go. I really wished I could stay here and go to Spoonerville College with you, Max. I've tried my very hardest to talk to them to let me stay here, but they're still forcing me to move to Philadelphia with them. They're forcing me to break our perfect relationship. They're forcing me to be away from you. I'm so sorry, Max." Then she broke down into tears.

Max knew this wasn't Lisa's fault at all and he was very grateful that she was letting him know immediately instead of later, but that still didn't make him feel any better about the whole situation. He started to wish that he had better grades so he could go to more colleges and universities than just Spoonerville College, which was the only one that would accept him because of his high school grades and also because it was the only one that he could afford to go to. He was hoping that Lisa would stay and that they could go to college together too and he was glad that she really wanted to, even though her parents wouldn't allow it.

Then, during a few minutes of silence apart from Lisa crying her eyes out, Max spent his time working out what to say her. He knew she was still upset and he had to say something that would make her feel better, not more upset. Then he worked out what to say to her and finally plucked up the courage to approach her and hug her. Still crying, she hugged him back.

"Shh, shh, Lisa," Max said. "It's not your fault that you have to go. I will miss you, but more importantly, I will never forget you and, whatever you do in your life, I will wish you nothing but happiness and success and the very best life you can ever have in your whole life."

Lisa still cried, but she started to smile. "Thank you so much, Max. And I will miss you too, but I will never forget you either and I wish you nothing but happiness and success and the very best life you can ever have in your whole life too. And I only hope we can remain friends and we'll keep in contact with each other, like become pen pals."

"Thanks, Lisa. And whatever letter you write, I will write back to you."

"Sounds good to me, Max."

"So, when are you moving to Philadelphia?" Max asked.

"The day after Stacey's Graduation Party," Lisa replied. "And very early on that morning too."

"Okay, then. Well, before you have to leave for Philadelphia, how about we make the most of the time we can have that's left of our relationship?"

"I like the sound of that, Max," Lisa replied. Then she managed to stopped crying and then she and Max kissed before they resumed their picnic and this time they enjoyed their food more, now that they got all the Philadelphia businesses off their chests and came to an understanding between them.

"I'm really gonna miss all your amazing picnics, Lisa," Max said, as he ate another delicious sandwich.

"Thanks, Max," Lisa said, as she ate another slice of chocolate cake. "And I'm gonna miss you as my picnic buddy."

After they finished eating all the delicious food and drinking all the lemonade, Max took off her red r-shirt and Lisa took off her cropped black shirt and blue jeans, leaving on her white bikini. Then they embraced and kissed passionately.

"I'm definitely gonna miss these very special moments with you, Max," Lisa said.

"Me too, Lisa," Max said.

Then after Max took off his blue pants, revealing his green swim shorts, he and Lisa got onto the horses and took them out for a swim in the Spoonerville Lake. Then they took the horses back to the land and then they went back into the lake for a romantic swim themselves.

"You know, Max," Lisa said, as she wrapped her arms around him. "Even if I do find a future boyfriend, I doubt he will be as amazing as you are. I can't believe that, before the skiing trip in January 1996, I used to think you were a loser and tried to avoid you like the plague. That's my biggest regret of my whole life."

"Well, you weren't the only one who thought I was a loser," Max said. "But look how far you've come since you discovered Chad cheated on you and left him."

"And I feel better for it and I've never been happier in my life," Lisa said. "All thanks to you, Max."

"Thanks, Lisa," Max said. "And you improved my life too."

Then they kissed each other and continued their romantic swim.

Then the sun started to set and that meant it was time to head back home. Max and Lisa went back to the land, dried themselves with Lisa's towel, grabbed the picnic basket, got on the horses and rode back to Spoonerville.

"Are you taking your horses to Philadelphia, Lisa?" Max asked, as he rode Jenny.

"No, Max," Lisa replied sadly, as she rode Sean. "They've already been sold and the new owners are coming to my mansion to pick them up tomorrow. So today's my last day I could spend with them and I'm glad you joined us too, Max. So, thank you for that."

"No problem, Lisa," Max said.

Then, as they continued to ride back home, they talked about all the good times they had at high school, including all of Max's basketball practice and real games and Lisa watching him, when they acted in Anything Goes, Merrily, We Roll Along and Grease and winning awards for their acting, going to both the junior and senior prom and being crowned the Homecoming King and Queen, going on all their amazing spring break trips, all the talent shows they took part in and won them, including their third one this year where they did a comedy show and they performed a lot of comedy sketches which they wrote and performed all of them by themselves and it involved slapstick moments, verbal jokes, funny impersonations of celebrities and they even did a live talk show where Lisa was the funny hostess and Max was the funny guest, and most importantly of all, meeting each other and having their special relationship.

Even though Max and Lisa both knew their relationship wasn't going to continue much longer, even though they both really wanted it to, they were very grateful that they had it when they did and it brought out the very best out of each other. Max was very glad that he managed to have a relationship with his dream girl, Lisa was very glad that she had a relationship with someone that actually cared about her and especially since she left that awful, fake relationship with Chad, who never cared about her about all and only used her as a prop like the other girls he had been seeing, and both Max and Lisa were very glad that their relationship was a very happy and special one.
