Katara sighed as she watched the young Fire Lord sleep. The ruler of the fire nation looked more like a little boy when asleep than the fierce man she has come to know and love.

"This has got to stop." Katara brushed back some hair from Zukos face.

After another night of passion the young Fire Lord and the waterbender would hug each other and in the morning they pretend like nothing happened between them. But this time Katara wouldn't be able to play her role.

She looked around his chambers and though subtle, you could tell a woman frequent there. Some perfume bottles, some make up here and there and his closet had some of her clothes in it. No wonder the palace maids were talking about her. Even though Zuko bought that stuff for her, she refused to take them with her. She didn't want to remember the months they spent together. Day and night…..

"Is it really ok just to leave like this?" Katara thought, she then slapped herself. "No, you have to do this, not just for yourself but Zuko too." As she got out of the Fire Lords arms and off the bed she picked up her discarded clothing.

"Water skin, check." Katara mentally went over what she brought with her. Zuko needed her so when she left the Southern Water Tribe she didn't bring much stuff. A bag with some clothes and her toiletries were all she had brought under the impression she wouldn't stay long. Zuko bought her dresses; swim suits anything she needed as she stayed longer. Per his request.

Katara was able to treat the problem in five month. Though the patient had relapses she was stable for now. She grabbed a piece of paper and wrote medicine she should take. When she finished she was almost out of the room before she went back.

"This is proof of my loyaty to you," Zuko gave her his Fire Prince crown as they finished feeding the turtle ducks. "This is proof how serious I am about you."

"Are you sure?" Katara knew that even though he was Fire Lord, his fire prince crown meant a lot to him. It was something he was trying to regain to restore his honour.

Zuko kissed her temple and looked into her eyes. "Yes, Katara I adore you."

Katara sighed as she packed the crown in her bag, even though she wanted to take nothing he bought her, this item was precious to her. To some, a Fire crown represented power and wealth. But to Zuko it was a reminder of what he suffered and how he became who he was today.

"I wish I had something to leave with him." Katara bit her lip as she thought of what she could leave. She took off the hair tie at the end of her braid and placed it on the letter she wrote him.

She took a deep breath and left.

A young girl with light brown skin was swinging her legs back and forth. This was the only way she could cope. The hospital in the Earth Kingdom was not like the ones at the Northern Water Tribe, they were more advanced in technology but the Water Tribes had better healers.

"If we were at home, mom would have been healed by now." The little girl was sitting outside what they called the operating room.

"Kid, do you have any family in the Earth Kingdom?" A nurse asked as she filed her nails, Kyrsa thought even though they were pretty, she agreed with her mom, they would just get in the way of bending.

"My father has a meeting here with the Earth King." The little girl bit her lip.

"Sure, and what's his name." The nurse rolled her eyes, knowing how hard it was to get to meet the Earth King.

"His name is Fire Lord Zuko." The little girl's gold eyes shined.

"And my name is gullible." The nurse laughed.

The little girl frowned. "It's true; just call the Earth Kingdoms number."

"Kid, the Fire Lord has no children."

"Just call this number please and ask for Fire Lord Zuko," Kyrsa pleaded. "Tell him that Katara needs his help."

The nurse grabbed the paper with the phone number on it and gestured for another woman to take the child. The girl was struggling to get out of the persons hold. "Call him, mention Katara."

As the two left the nurse sighed as someone answered the phone. "Hi, is Fire Lord Zuko there."

"Hold on please." A voice said. The nurse could not believe that people were actually falling along with this game there little girl was playing.

"Hello." A deep male voice said.

"Hey, Fire Lord Zuko." The nurse laughed. "There's this little girl here saying she's your daughter."

"Who?"

"Listen, I like pretend as much as the next person but you got to stop impersonating the Fire Lord," The nurse sighed. "Whatever, the kid says Katara needs help."

There was a pause. "Where are you?"

"Were at the Earth Kingdoms hospital," The nurse said proudly. "One of the best ou-"

The phone hung up on the other end. "Well, her father sure is rude."

Fire Lord Zuko, no longer a boy but a man at age twenty-five, walked hurriedly down the hospital halls with a woman following. There were gasps as he approached the nursing station, some even bowed.

"Where is Katara?" He panted.

"Look, take a deep breath," The nurse who was reading a magazine said. "That Katara girl aint going anywhere for the time being, what you need to worry about is that brat."

"I don't have time for this," Zuko growled. "Where is Katara."

The nurse closed her magazine ready to tell the person off until she saw who it was. Fire Lord Zuko, in his royal robes looked at her and frowned.

"I'm sorry sir," The nurse trembled. "Unless you're family with the patient we can't share that information, but if you want to see the kid she in the room over there.

Zuko went into the room, not sure what he would find. Woman always claimed they had his baby so he usually ignores there attempts but this time someone mentioned Katara. He hasn't seen her in five years.

"Zu Zu, what's your hold up," The young woman with a different crown asked him. "You just raced out of the meeting and didn't explain why we are here."

When the woman entered the room she stood next to her brother in shock. There with a stuffed turtle duck in the hands sat a young girl with black and brown hair. She had her hair up in a top knot and had hair loopies. She wore a purple tunic and pants, she was swinging her legs back to front while she was looking like she was waiting for someone.

The little girls head turned and she gasped when she saw the brother and sister. "You must be Fire Lord Zuko."

Zuko nodded in shock.

The young girl smiled as she picked up her turtle duck. "Hi, my name is Kyrsa, and I am the daughter of Waterbending Master Katara."

Zuko frowned; he didn't think Katara would move on though it has been five years and he himself was not alone. The night she left her letter did not give any hint of where she might have been going. He checked the Southern and Northern Water Tribes but could not find her. "Who's your father little one."

"Zu zu," Azula rolled her eyes. "That kid looks just like you."

Zuko looked at the girl who fidgeted under his gaze. "Who's your dad?"

"You." The girls golden eyes gleamed.

Zuko's eyes widened as the girl claimed he was her father. It was impossible because he was always safe with his partners. "I think you're mistaken."

"Here, my mom had this, I assume it was yours." Kyrsa took out a crown.

"Where did you get this?" Zuko's hand shook as he took the crown.

"Like I said, my name is Kyrsa, named after Kya and Ursa, I'm the daughter of you and mom," Kyrsa went into her bag and took out the old painting Sokka made. "Isn't this you?"

Zuko did not know how the little girl could make out anything in that picture but he nodded his head.

"Why aren't you next to my mommy?" The girls head tilted to the side. "Who's this grumpy lady next to you?"

Azula started to laugh as she kneeled down next to Kyrsa. "I guess that means I'm your aunt."

"Azula, don't encourage her."

"Nice to meet you Aunt Azula," Kyrsa said. "I'm glad you're feeling much better, mom said you were sick so that's why you did bad things but you are better now."

Azula blinked back her tears as the young girl hugged her.

"Mommy also said you and daddy are firebenders like me?" The girl produced a purple flame in her hand.

"I never saw such fire like that?" Zuko gasped as he felt the room getting hotter.

"Do you believe I'm your daughter now?"

Zuko didn't know what to think, but the crown and other evidence the little girl had made him think she was telling the truth.

"I need some air." Zuko took the little girls hand as they walked passed the nursing station.

"Bye gullible." Kyrsa smirked remembering what the nurse said.
