Once upon a time, there was a place called the Universe.
Perhaps you have heard of it.
Within the Universe, there are billions upon billions of galaxies, and within these galaxies there are billions upon billions of stars. And orbiting one of these stars, located on the further end of one of this particular galaxy's arms, was a planet that would later come to be known as Eunaxx.
Planet Eunaxx was a freshly made planet, having just formed out of its proto-planetary disc phase, ready to take on the universe, looking as peaceful as it could be orbit the star Gavida…at least on the outside. The surface of Eunaxx was a barren, volcanic wasteland of fire, lava and smoke, with an average temperature of one-hundred-and-fifteen degrees planet-wide, and a remarkably low level of water in the form of a slowly-forming ocean that dotted the landscape in small pools.
There was no way any form of life could ever hope to live here.
At least, not without a little help.
Thousands of miles away but approaching with intense speed was a cosmic seed: A rogue ball of rock, carbon and ice that soared violently through the empty void of space. This type of formation would later be known as an asteroid.
And by the incomprehensible vastness of chance and circumstances, it just so happened to be on a collision course with Eunaxx.
Though it might've missed completely, were it not for the star Gavida; it soared past the giant ball of fire, barely avoiding the solar flare that burst from the star's side, getting caught in the gravitational pull just enough to redirect it from the emptiness of the cosmos towards the planet. It started to shake and break apart as the planet's gravity began to pull it apart; a large chunk of the icy rock broke off and hurtled through the atmosphere, bursting into flames and blowing a shockwave across the terrestrial wasteland. The main body of the comet, containing a large shard, screamed into the atmosphere with meteoric force.
It went planet side, disappearing over the charred horizon.
Then there was a bang.
A very, very loud bang.
Shards of ice and carbon rained down over the landscape; a number of these shards landed in one of the few oases of precious native water Eunaxx had to offer. And one of the tiniest of these shards sank down in the depths below.
This was how it always began in this galaxy. All across this special cluster of stars, planets had been seeded with the building blocks of life for countless eons. Some worlds were barren and empty, never to have life emerge on its surface. Some were just like this one, just beginning to take the first steps in the long process to becoming the home worlds of advanced living organisms, while others had seen their inhabitants take to the stars and stretch their influence on worlds other than their own. The process was always the same, and it appeared it would be that way for this world as well.
But then something happened. Something…new.
From the dark depths of space, a tiny light shone…a tiny purple light. It was a small, unremarkable thing. If there was any form of life on Eunaxx, they would've looked up at the sky and seen what resembled a tiny purple star glowing in the distant horizon. Nothing special.
But then the tiny purple star began to grow in size, first at a slow pace, but getting faster and larger when each passing moment. From the depths of space, a ball of fiery purple energy tore its way through the inky blackness toward the simple, unprepared planet. This entity would come to be known as a comet, though a comet like this would never be seen by this galaxy ever again. As it soared past the star Gavida, a wisp of its energy plunged into the swirling surface of fire, spilling a new-found energy into the star. The energy spread across the surface, turning the one golden flames of the star into a brilliant violet.
As the sun finished its transformation, another was about to take place. Following the example of the asteroid that had struck just moments before it had, the comet's violent path became a powerful roar as it entered Eunaxx's atmosphere. Said atmosphere reacted violently to the comet's presence; dark clouds filled the sky and sent arches of dangerous purple energy coursing throughout themselves, charged by the comet as it soared past.
Then the comet fell from the sky and slammed into the ground full force.
When it hit the ground, however, the mysterious glowing energy that made up its being reacted violently with the force, flashing violently in bright beams of purple and violet-colored lights, before exploding forcefully in a great wave of energy. The appearance of the wave was akin to that of an Aurora, flowing outwards in a wide circle in all directions, forming a wall of this power that travelled across the world at speeds of over three hundred miles per second, stretching out to envelop the entire circumference of the globe, infusing the modest little planet with a power that was completely unknown in this galaxy.
As the wave spread across the land, disappearing into the surface of the planet, one last miracle took place. The final form of the comet, now nothing more than a microscopic blip resembling a candle's flame, arched through the air before it dove into the same body of water the asteroid shard had landed in. It snaked through the water like a current of electricity, diving down, down, down until it found the single tiny shard of rock and ice that housed the carbon-based material needed for life.
Then, with a flash of purple light, it infused itself into said material.
After that, everything of the comet and its strange purple energy disappeared from view, only leaving behind a now violet-colored sun that shone upon the same desolate wasteland it had been before.
But in time, the changes it would bring would be felt far across the galaxy.
