Lloyd and Melissa's Great Escape.

After the big Cheaterthon race was over, Melissa and Lloyd were in The principal's office, Lloyd was crossing his arms while Melissa gave an awkward look.

"So, how long do you think we're gonna be in here?" Melissa asked nervously, twiddling her thumbs.

"I'm not talking to you." Lloyd said as Melissa looked away as they stood in silence for a long moment before Lloyd broke it. "You know what. I can't believe you've made me do that, we are so screwed!"

"I thought you weren't talking to me?" Melissa said with an amusing look.

"Hey, look, I know it's all a big joke to you, but not me!" Lloyd said with a look. "I was paying my dues. I was going places! And now they're gonna bust me down! I-I don't know how many tears!" He exclaimed in frustration.

"Look Lloyd, I'm sorry," Melissa said in guilt before she gave a small smile. "But, come on, didn't you feel it back there for just a second? That you felt liberated, and that you were something like, you were more than what they say you are?" She asked with a hopeful smile. "I mean, your father might do something like that."

Lloyd stood in silence for a bit as he sighs. "Yeah, I felt it. I really did. But it doesn't matter." He said as he turned to her. "We're going to get punished and possibly get expelled. Ugh, Principal Darkley saw the whole thing. This is so embarrassing." He said as he held his head in shame while Melissa placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Then coming from the doorway of the office, Wyplash came in, which shocked the two kids as he kept an eye on them before stepping back. "It's clear." He said, which made Lloyd and Melissa turn and saw Principal Darkley coming in with a firm look.

"Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon. Melissa Zhau. What you did today is one of the craziest things I have ever seen." Principal Darkely said with a firm look to the two kids.

"Principal Darkley, look it's my fault." Melissa spoke up nervously. "We're so sorry…"

"I loved it!" Principal Darkley cheered with a smile, which shocked the two.

"You did?" Melissa asked in surprise as she wasn't expecting that kind of answer.

"You two entered the race, cheating, sabotaging the racers and doing whatever you can to try to win." Darkley listed as he sat down on his chair in front of the two kids. "Now that was pretty evil and bad, which is exactly what my School stands for."

"So, we're not getting punished?" Lloyd asked in surprise.

"Punished?" Darkley repeated before he gave a laugh, which Lloyd and Melissa joined in while Wyplash gave a dry one with a rolled eye. "The fact of the matter is, we're halfway through the sabotaging lecture, and our students have already reached 150% test scores. You two inspired them to work harder at being evil." He said while he shook Lloyd's hand, which made Lloyd smile.

"Principal Darkley, sir, we joined the race to show everyone our potential." Melissa said with a smile as she shook his hand as well. "That we can be as evil as Lord Gar--"

"Outstanding! I love two trouble makers who can think for themselves." Darkley said with a smirk. "Perhaps you two can tour the school, speak to your fellow classmates and help them see their potential." He suggested.

"W-Wow! Great, that sounds increible!" Melissa called with a smile. "We would love to--"

"Sir, it's time." Wyplash said to Darkley.

"Ah, yes." Darkley nodded as he turned back to Lloyd and Melissa, "Sorry, kids. Got some Principal work to be done. But in the meantime, sit tight." He said as he turned to Wyplash. "Wyplash, have someone escort these two unique kids to their reward. My treat." He said, which made Lloyd and Melissa smile widely from that as Darkley walked backwards. "Till next time, future overlords." He said as he and Wyplash walked out, leaving the two stunned kids alone with wide smiles while Lloyd had his jaw dropped.

"Principal Darkley, the Principal Darkley is proud of us!" Lloyd exclaimed in excitement.

"Still mad at me now?" Melissa asked with a small smirk.

"I'm less mad at you." Lloyd answered with a smirk as Melissa gave a giggle.

"See, Lloyd? I told you, I have a feeling that everything's gonna change and we're gonna go--" Melissa trailed off as they turned and saw Chad walking in, looking livid.

"You. Little. Dorks!" Chad yelled while his hands were trembling in rage.

Lloyd and Melissa gave nervous looks, knowing that Chad is still ticked off by what happened at the race. "Hey… Chad…" Lloyd said nervously while Melissa had her hands up and her mouth an O, knowing this wasn't gonna be good.

Chad dragged both Lloyd and Melissa, who were yelling in protest, by the collars of their shirts across the School before heading outside and heading straight to the Pit of Loserness. "Wait, wait! You don't understand! Principal Darkley wanted to reward us!" Lloyd tried to say before they were tossed into the pit as they yelled and crashed at the bottom.

"You two losers aren't gonna get anything ever again! I'll make sure of that!" Chad yelled as he walked off.

"You're making a mistake! Ask Darkley!" Lloyd shouted but Chad was already gone.

"Ugh, I hate that guy." Melissa muttered with a look. "Along with Gene and Brad."

"Yeah, ditto." Lloyd said with a frown. "And the Pit of Loserness? I really hate this place." He added while looking around the hole while the only light is the sun through the hole.

"So, how are we gonna get out of here this time?" Melissa asked, looking around the pit.

"Maybe we climb like last time?" Lloyd suggested.

"I don't think so, cause look." Melissa pointed to the walls which have been smoothed out. "Looks like Chad and his goons thought ahead."

"Maybe we use some twigs or vines to make a ladder?" Lloyd suggested.

"There's no plants or twigs, this place is cleaned out." Melissa said, gesturing to the lack of plants around.

"Well that's just great." Lloyd groaned before sitting on the ground only to jump as he felt like he sat on something. "Hey! What the heck did I just sit on?!" He asked before looking down and saw a bone axe on the ground.

"One of the substitute teachers must've dropped it." Melissa said with a brow. "And a bit disturbing since it's made of bones."

"Be glad that our substitute teachers are skeletons and not ghosts." Lloyd said with a smirk, which made Melissa flinch a bit before giving a glare.

"I thought we agreed to never speak of ghosts again." Melissa said while giving Lloyd a look.

"I didn't agree or sign anything on that." Lloyd said with a chuckle which made Melissa roll her eyes.

Melissa then perked up. "Wait a minute. That's it." She said as she stood up and took the axe from Lloyd and walked up to the wall.

"What's it?" Lloyd asked in confusion.

"Lloyd, don't you see? We can use this axe to dig our way out of here!" Melissa said with a smile.

"Uh, it's an axe, not a shovel, Melissa." Lloyd pointed out, while Melissa gave a dull look as she swung the axe to the wall, directly hitting it before it crumbled, which made a gap on the wall while Lloyd looked in shock while Melissa gave a smirk.

"You should really study more." Melissa said with a smirk as she spun the axe around. "Now, follow me to freedom!" She declared as she then used the axe to dig their way out while Lloyd just looked at her in shock.

"Dang, that girl is a genius." Lloyd muttered before he shook his head and followed after Melissa as she kept digging her way out. "So, do you know where you're going?"

"I studied the layout of the school. I know where to go, even underground like the old tunnels." Melissa assured while swinging her axe, which left some rocks fall. "Possibly." She muttered quietly.

"That doesn't make me feel confident." Lloyd muttered.

"Just don't rush me." Melissa said with a look as she kept swinging the axe as they extended the tunnel further.

Inside the Boys bunk room, no one was in the room as everyone was either still in class or outside, just then the ground burst open as Lloyd and Melissa climbed out of it as they took a breather.

"See, I told ya, I know the way." Melissa panted with a smile as they got out of the hole.

"Phew, we might get busted by punching a hole in the ground, but it's better than being in that pit again." Lloyd said in relief.

"Yeah, I still remember the last time the two of us were stuck in there." Melissa said with a shudder. "I was so hungry thay I was thinking about eating you."

"Yeah, about that, don't." Lloyd said with a weirded look.

"Are you sure about putting them in there, Darkley?" A voice spoke up which caught Lloyd and Melissa's attention.

The two pick into the doorway while seeing Darkley, Wyplash and Chad talking to one another. "Of course I'm sure, Wyplash." Darkley said with a look. "I made sure that they wouldn't get out of there by removing anything in the pit that would help them climb out."

"Remember Darkley, the Skulkin are only here for two reasons." Wyplash said with a look. "To help teach the kids how to be evil and to make sure no harm comes to Lloyd, strict orders of Lord Garmadon himself." He reminded him with a look.

"Like I don't know that." Darkley said with a look. "But compared to his father, that boy doesn't even have the full evil his father has."

"That doesn't matter." Wyplash told him. "I'll let this one slide, but if we find out that you harmed Lloyd in any other way in this school then Lord Garmadon will have your head."

"Whatever." Darkley said before turning to Chad. "You made sure that the pit doesn't have anything else in there before you threw them in?"

"I made sure of it." Chad said with a smirk. "Lloyd and Melissa are not getting out of there anytime soon."

"Good. Now those two will think about their mistakes and will soon realize their 'sabotage encouragement' was all for not." Darkley said with a smirk.

Lloyd and Melissa were shocked hearing that, and realizing that Darkley's words and him being proud of them was an act and that they sent Chad to throw them in the pit without them knowing his true intentions.

"I… I can't believe it." Lloyd muttered in disappointment.

"He… He doesn't see any potential in us." Melissa said sadly.

"Those dorks had it coming for ruining my chance of winning." Chad said with a smirk.

"Indeed Chad." Darkley said with a nod. "You, Gene and Brad are my Number 1 students, there's an evil future ahead of you, and who knows maybe it's you who's worthy of carrying on Lord Garmadon's legacy."

This crushed Lloyd completely as he stepped back from the doorway while Melissa was shocked by this as Chad gave a chuckle. "Thank you sir. I'm a better lord than that Garma-Dork." He said with a chuckle while Wyplash gave a groan.

"Only Lord Garmadon is the true Lord and Master, not some uptight kid." Wyplash said with a look, which made Darkley and Chad give him looks in return.

Melissa quietly shut the door, having enough of that conversation while she locked it to make sure no one comes in while she turns and sees Lloyd sitting down on a bed, looking crushed by what they have just learned.

Melissa gave an apologetic look before slowly approaching her best friend. "Hey, Lloyd, don't listen to them, they don't know what they're saying." She said as she sat beside him.

"But it was all a lie. Darkley was never proud." Lloyd said with a frown. "He played us. Right to our face."

"Look, Lloyd, it may seem bad right now, but it always works out in the end, you'll see." Melissa assured him with a smile. "I bet that by this time tomorrow-"

"Melissa, just stop. Okay." Lloyd said to her with a frown. "No matter what we do, this school will never take us seriously. Let's face it, we can't even gain their support. Let's just drop this whole thing, alright."

"Come on Lloyd, we can't just give up." Melissa said with a frown. "What would your father say if he saw you giving up?"

Lloyd looked down for a moment as he gave a sigh. "I don't know what he would say. I barely knew him." He muttered, which made Melissa gave a sympathetic look, knowing that Lloyd only heard of his father through history books and rumors of Ninjago.

"You might not know him, but it's clear that he knows you." Melissa told him. "Why else would he send his skeletons to keep an eye on you."

"To teach everyone how to be evil?" Lloyd answered dully.

"Well, yeah that." Melissa said with a sheepish smile. "But he knew that you do have a potential in you. And he wanted you to keep going. You can't just give up now just because some others think so."

Lloyd still looked uncertain. "I just wanna make my dad proud of me. I may not know him but I really wish I did, and I wish he is here." He said before Melissa gave him a side hug.

"I know he is. Because one thing about parents, they always care for their kids." Melissa said with a small smile before she gave a sad frown. "Something I wish I had."

Lloyd gave a sympathetic frown from that, forgetting that Melissa is an orphan when she first came to school as he gave her a comforting hug, while the two stood that way while comforting each other from the terrible day they had, what they didn't know was Wyplash was peeking through the door hole after hearing some noises as he saw Lloyd and Melissa while having heard the conversation they had while he gave a sympathetic frown, can't help but feel bad for them.

In the Underworld, Wyplash made his way to the throne room as he kneeled down. "My lord, I have returned." Wyplash said to him.

"Report." Garmadon ordered.

"Darkley has once again made a fool out of the boy." Wyplash reported. "He lied and threw him into that little pit that School has, Darkley even had the nerve to say that the boy he ordered to throw Lloyd into the pit say that he is worthy of carrying on your legacy."

Garmadon growled from that detail. "Those fools think my son doesn't have potential, then they are blinded by their own arrogance." He said before looking at Wyplash. "But I sense that something else happened."

"Well, your son was feeling down, but he wasn't alone." Wyplash said to him. "He had this little girl, who seemed to have comforted him from that event."

"A girl you say?" Garmadon said with interest.

"Yes. And she felt the same pain your son had, and it seems those two are their emotional support." Wyplash reported. "Should we be worried?"

Garmadon kept quiet for a moment before he spoke. "No. It seems that Lloyd has some comfort to keep going." He said to him, "Let's leave them be. I have a feeling that their future will shine soon." He explained. "For now, go meet up with Samukai and head to Ray Smith's shop known as Four Weapons and locate the map to the Golden Weapons, and bring me Maya's successor."

"Yes, Lord Garmadon." Wyplash nodded as he rushed off, leaving Garmadon alone as he sat on the throne in silence.

Garmadon then grabbed a picture that was hidden in the throne, a picture of his younger self along with a blonde haired woman with a small baby in her arms. "Looks like you found your own, Misako, son." He said with a slight proud smile. "I hope she'll give you joy." He added as he kept looking at the picture in silence, while longing for him to see his son.
