My Sensei is an Assassin
Chapter 11
Family Time
...
IZUKU'S POV
After my training with All Might, I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. Once I changed into my clothes, I sat down to have my breakfast.
It was 9 in the morning, and my mom, dad, and I were about to have some family time together. Mom had taken a week off from her part-time job. Although she didn't have to work since Dad sent money monthly, she mentioned that after my first year of junior high, she felt quite lonely at home. That's why she decided to get a part-time job in our neighbourhood. Dad also finished all of his work yesterday.
"So, Izuku, are you ready to leave?" Dad called out to me.
"Yes, Dad," I said, wearing my red shoes.
"So, are you both ready to leave?" Dad, one last time, asked. To which we nodded happily.
He flashed a warm smile, and together we hopped into a taxi that whisked us away to the bustling train station. The air buzzed with excitement as we made our way to the amusement park, the promise of adventure hanging in the warm breeze.
As we entered the park, vibrant colours and the sounds of laughter enveloped us, heightening our anticipation for the day ahead. Our first stop was the towering roller coaster, a thrilling behemoth that twisted and turned high above the ground. I noticed a flicker of dread in Mom's eyes as she gazed up at the massive structure, but with a little coaxing and enthusiasm, we managed to persuade her to join us.
"Izuku, dear, I think I should stay here while you both ride it." She said, with a bit of fear.
"Imagine the fun and excitement! A family ride is meant to be enjoyed together—how can it be truly thrilling if the whole family isn't onboard?" Dad said, pursuing Mom.
"Yes, Mom, Dad is right."
"OK, OK, I get it; we will ride it.SIGH." She finally agreed to it.
Dad sat with Mom in the seat behind me to support her.
After the whole ride, I was still standing. But was also feeling dizzy. Mom had the worst of us; she needed Dad's support to walk.
"Dear, I told you." She said, her head felt heavy and down due to the ride.
"Geez, I heard that. OK. I won't force you again."
Then, we move on to our next ride, which was a pendulum ride.
'*GULP*Now, I am scared, too.'I thought internally.
"Dear, didn't you say that you wouldn't force us?" Mom said furiously.
"I said that I won't force you, Inko. Let's go, Izuku." Dad said, smiling.
"Dad, I think I should stay with Mom here," I said, with slight fear on my face.
Dad said, "Izuku, you want to be a hero, right? Think of it as part of the training."
Before I could retort, my mom interjected with a smile, her eyes gently closed shut. "Yes, dear, you're right. Izuku, you should go with him." In that moment, I caught a glimpse of a mischievous side of my mother that I rarely saw, and before I knew it, I found myself being tugged away by Dad towards the ride.
After the exhilarating ride, my condition mirrored that of my mom's earlier. Exhausted, I slumped against Dad, who gently lifted me and carried me to a nearby resting area, where I could collect myself.
Once I had a chance to regroup, we ventured out to grab some snacks. The aroma of warm treats enveloped us as we settled down, our conversation drifting from my school experiences to Dad's job, unravelling the recent changes in my life. It felt comforting, sharing these moments, wrapped in laughter and the warmth of our bond.
"Perhaps we could opt for a less stomach-churning ride, like the Haunted House?" Dad proposed with a playful glint in his eye.
"What's the matter, dear? Did you have your fill of thrills?" Mom quipped, her tone laced with sarcasm as she raised an eyebrow at him.
Yet, Dad's grin remained bright and unwavering. "I have an entire lineup of rides waiting for me, but I'm missing a companion to share the adventure. What do you say? Will you join me for a ride?"
We ventured into the haunted house, excitement mingling with a hint of trepidation, but soon faced an unexpected dilemma. The venue was split into two distinct sections: one for adults and the other for teenagers. This meant that while Mom and Dad bravely entered the adult haunted house, I was directed to the teenager's version. Surprisingly, I didn't feel a shred of fear; perhaps it was my countless preparations that left me unfazed. Instead, I found myself grappling with disappointment over the experience.
After what felt like an eternity of waiting, around ten minutes later, Mom and Dad finally emerged. However, they looked different upon their arrival. Mom's face was flushed a deep crimson, a stark contrast to her usual calm demeanour, while Dad wore an awkward smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Curiosity bubbled within me, and I couldn't help but ask what had transpired during their time in the adult section.
In an instant, Mom turned into a stuttering mess, her words tumbling out in a jumbled frenzy, much like I often did in moments of nervousness. Dad, ever the protector, interjected with a reassuring but cryptic response, insisting I wasn't quite old enough to understand the details. Though unspoken, it felt as if a door was left ajar, hinting at something intriguing yet inappropriate for my ears. I chose not to pry further, as my imagination began to fill in the blanks, and I suspected I had an inkling of what might have unfolded.
We spent the day immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere of the fair, hopping from one exhilarating ride to another, our laughter mingling with the cheerful sounds around us.
As the sky began to change hues, signalling the approach of sunset, we gathered for one last ride on the Ferris wheel. Ascending slowly, we were greeted by a breathtaking panorama, the sun dipping low on the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple.
"It's so beautiful," Mom said softly, her eyes reflecting the magnificence of the moment.
Dad, looking thoughtfully at the horizon, chimed in, "Who could imagine that an ending could be so beautiful? Maybe it appears lovely because we understand that it will rise again and is not truly the last time. Human lives reflect this as well—when one chapter closes, a new beginning always awaits. That's why we should cherish every moment and not dwell on sadness when something concludes because every conclusion awaits a new beginning." His words hung in the air, rich with wisdom, and Mom smiled, nodding in agreement as the gentle breeze tousled her hair.
After soaking in the splendour of the sunset, we made our way to a cosy restaurant, the warm glow of its lights welcoming us. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, sharing stories and laughter, the day's adventures still alive in our hearts. When we finally arrived home, I felt a wave of weariness wash over me. The magic of the day had taken its toll, and I sank into my bed, drifting off to sleep almost instantly, dreaming of the sights and sounds of our wonderful day together.
...
(Timeskip: Next Day)
NARRATOR'S POV
Midoriya went to the beach to train with All Might, but he found out that All Might wouldn't be able to train him that day due to some personal matters. So, Midoriya started doing training on his own. After which he went home.
He asked his dad what they were going to do that day. To which he replied that they should go to watch a newly released movie in a mall.
When they arrived at the mall, his dad said, "The movie is going to start in an hour. Until then, why don't we go shopping for you, Izuku?"
"But I don't need anything, Dad," Izuku replied simply.
"Nonsense! I saw your clothes and shoe collection, and I have to say I'm disappointed in you." He said, shaking his head disapprovingly.
"Hey!" Izuku exclaimed, feeling hurt. "They're not that bad."
"So, you admit they are bad, huh?" His dad chuckled. "Let's quickly check out a few stores before the movie starts." Izuku reluctantly agreed, knowing his dad had a point about his wardrobe needing an upgrade.
They picked out new shoes, shirts, pants, and T-shirts. When he went to try them on in the changing room, Inko said to Hisashi, "Dear, you didn't have to buy this much."
Hisashi looked down, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I am his father," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, "and yet I haven't been able to fulfil that role for the last 10 years. A father should witness each milestone, every laugh, and every tear as their child grows, but I've been absent from his life—an unfortunate ghost in the shadows. This shopping trip, this fleeting moment of family time, feels like a hollow attempt to make up for everything I've missed. Soon, he won't be a little boy anymore; he'll grow up, and the opportunity for us to share those precious moments will slip away forever. I can't shake the feeling that I've already lost so much."
Inko put her hand on his shoulder to sympathise with him and said, "I completely understand, dear. Izuku feels that way too; he longs to be with you just as much as you want to be with him. He often experiences a pang of jealousy when he hears his friends share stories about their dads. But now that you're here, you have a wonderful opportunity to create new memories together and deepen the bond that you both share. Izuku finally has a chance to spend quality time with you and make up for the moments that were missed."
A teardrop formed in Hisashi's eyes, and he smiled genuinely. Izuku came to let them see his clothes at the same time. Before he could see his father's eyes, Hisashi wiped the tears.
Izuku was confused. "What happened, Dad?"
"Nothing, just a tinkering in eyes," Hisashi said, rubbing his eyes. After that, he saw Izuku in his new clothes. "Wow! You look so handsome. Let me take a picture of you."
"Heh heh, I am not that good," Izuku said sheepishly.
After that, they went to watch the movie.
On an interval, Hisashi went to buy some drinks and popcorn, and Izuku and Inko went to the washrooms.
While Izuku was exiting the washroom, he bumped into someone. He balanced himself and said, "Sorry for that."
He didn't lift his head to see who he bumped into, but that person recognised him, and he was not someone he wanted to meet here. "Hey, isn't that Deku, Bakugo?" One of Bakugo's cronies said.
Bakugo looked carefully and mischievously smiled. "Yeah, you're right. It's the worthless Deku. So, what are you doing here after running away, putting your tail behind your legs?" Bakugo said, laughing hysterically with his two other minions. Izuku clenched his fists, trying to control his anger. He knew he had to stay calm and not escalate the situation further. Ignoring Bakugo's taunts, he walked away towards his family, determined not to let the encounter ruin their family trip. But Bakugo hadn't had enough. "Where do you think you're going?"
Midoriya's head was down, and his expression was unreadable. He, with a calmness in his voice, said, "Are you done, Bakugo?" To which their laughter stopped.
"Huh? What did you say?" Bakugo asked, not believing what he had heard.
"I said, 'Are you done?' If yes, then step aside, because my family is waiting there, and I don't want them to wait any longer because of someone like you." Izuku said with an eerily calm voice.
"Huh?" Bakugo said with anger in his voice.'Did this nerd, this worthless Deku, just now talk back to me?'He couldn't contain his anger because someone just now challenged his ego and superiority complex, so he did what he always does: forcefully grab the collar and show them who is the boss and king. But before he could touch his collar, something happened that he couldn't think of.
(A few minutes earlier)
Somewhere else, Hisashi was waiting for Inko and Izuku with popcorn and sodas in his hands. When Inko came, Hisashi handed her the sodas and popcorn to carry. "Inko, can you please hold these snacks? I also want to go to the washroom."
"Ok, dear. I will carry them." Inko said, holding the cans and popcorn. And Hisashi moved towards the washroom when he saw someone familiar.
"Hey, Inko. Isn't that Katsuki?"
"Hm?" Inko also turned towards that direction. She saw Bakugo bump into Izuku, said something, and started laughing. "Dear, we should stop them. Katsuki will bully him again." Inko said, frightened, and started to move towards them, but suddenly a hand blocked her.
She saw that the hand belonged to her husband. Hisashi's expression was dead serious, and with such seriousness, he said, "Wait, Inko. Have faith in him and Yuma-kun's training." She didn't know what he meant by that. At the same time, Bakugo latched onto Izuku to grab his collar, and Inko also moved towards them. But suddenly,
Izuku deftly sidestepped Bakugo's advance, his instincts kicking in as he seized Bakugo's wrist with a firm grip. In one fluid motion, he propelled his bully to the ground, leveraging his strength to immobilise him. With one hand pressing firmly between Bakugo's chest and the unforgiving floor, he trapped the other arm behind Bakugo's back, palms turned inward to prevent him from activating his explosive quirk. Izuku then utilised his legs to entrap both of Bakugo's legs, effectively pinning them down as he pressed his entire body weight onto him, ensuring Bakugo remained securely held beneath him.
Bakugo's thought process stalled abruptly at that moment.
After a brief pause, he began to reassess his situation.
He questioned himself,'What happened? Why am I on the floor?'
He recalled his intention to confront his rival, but the reasons for his current predicament eluded him. Notably, he felt an unusual weight on his back and an intense aura surrounding him, akin to that of a predator prepared to devour his prey.
With all the strength he could muster, he turned his head and identified the person holding him down: Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku. The unexpected turn of events left him bewildered; he was caught in a deadlock, unable to escape, while Izuku remained immobile. Bakugo's frustration mounted, manifesting in growls and clenched teeth, yet he found himself unable to break free from the grip.
Guards were on their way to see what was going on there. But before them, someone else came and put a hand on Izuku's shoulder and said, "Izuku, you can leave him now. We don't want any kind of commotion, right?" As soon as he said that, the overwhelming pressure, or, simply put, bloodlust, Izuku was exerting was stopped. When he saw him, it was his father, Hisashi.
On his father's suggestion, Izuku let Bakugo go swiftly. Bakugo was still growling, but Hisashi had solutions for that too. "Katsuki, we don't want any kind of commotion, nor do you want to, right? Silently leave the matters here, and I won't tell your mom, Mitsuki, about this. What do you say?"
Katsuki was surprised that this stranger knew his mom. "How do you know me or her?"
"Later, first we have to deal with the guards."
Guards started asking questions, "Sorry, guards, for the commotion. You see, these kids slipped and fell onto each other." Hisashi said, trying to convince the guards.
Guards were not buying that story, so they looked and asked the boys, "Is he telling the truth?"
Izuku changed his expression and personality to that of innocence and said, "Yes, sir, he was going inside when he suddenly slipped and started falling onto me, but I anticipated and moved sidewards, although, I also slipped and fell onto him." Bakugo and his minions were too shocked at how he could change his expression and mood instantly.
"What about you, kid? Do you want to say something?" A guard asked Bakugo.
"H-Huh? Uh, nothing. I—it's just like what he said."
"OK then. Sorry for the disturbance." The guards apologise and leave.
"Well then, we should also go, Izuku," Hisashi said.
"Yeah, Dad. But where's Mom?"
"She's over there. She's way too shocked at what you did today." And they left shocked Bakugo and company to their own devices.
"And you're not?" Izuku asked.
"I had faith in you and Isogai. I knew he wouldn't just leave you as you were before." He said, ruffling Izuku's hair.
...
BAKUGO'S POV
'What happened back there?'
'Who was he? He couldn't be that worthless, nerdy Deku? He didn't have that much confidence all his life. He couldn't have beaten me like that. Most importantly, what was that feeling I felt when he pinned me down?'
He changed ever since he left Aldera. I thought that he couldn't handle all of that and left the town. I was internally laughing that he finally accepted his weakness and I wouldn't have to see him again. But here he was, standing in front of me, radiating a newfound strength and determination that I had never seen before. It was like he was a completely different person. The look in his eyes told me that he wasn't the same Deku I had known.
'But who was that man? The pressure I was feeling was erased as soon as he came. He was talking to Deku as if he knew him very well. Wait, what did that Deku call him? ... Dad? Is that man really Deku's father who left them to work abroad? 10 to 11 years ago? I always bullied him that his father abandoned him because of his quirklessness, but did he really leave them? Because he was talking happily with him.'
After Deku's quirk diagnosis, I never talked straightforwardly with him; therefore, I never heard the reason why he left for abroad.
"AHH. I AM GETTING MORE AND MORE FRUSTRATED BECAUSE OF ALL THESE DAMN QUESTIONS. I am going home to calm my mind." I announced to my minions, as they were not friends.
"Wait, Bakugo, what about the movie?" Minion 1 asked.
"Huh? I don't care. Watch it, if you like, but I won't. I am going back home. Bye." I announced it to them.
"Wait, we are also coming." Minion 1 asked.
"Come, if you want to spend the next whole week in a hospital bed and the rest of your life with a plaster." I declared. I want some peace of mind, not some piece of garbage. These two are nothing more than trash.
...
NARRATOR'S POV
(Timeskip: 5 PM, Bakugo residence)
Katsuki, in fury, slammed the door closed and announced, "I AM HOME."
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO STOP SLAMMING THE DOORS!" An equally loud voice came from the kitchen.
But he didn't care about the yelling and went to his room, locked it, and started playing video games.
(Timeskip: Dinner time)
"DINNER IS READY. SO COME AND EAT." The Bakugo matriarch announced.
With his usual frustrated expression, he came down and sat on the chair.
But suddenly, someone hit him very hard on the back of his head. He moved towards his assailant, who was his mom, and yelled, "WHAT WAS THAT FOR? YOU OLD HAG."
"THAT WAS FOR SLAMMING THE DOOR, AND," she hit him again, "I AM NOT OLD."
"Okay, okay. Calm down, you two. It's not good manners to fight and yell at the dinner table. Let's enjoy the meal and have a peaceful dinner together," his father interjected, attempting to diffuse the tension. The family settled down to eat, with Bakugo reluctantly taking his seat, understanding that it was best not to argue further with his mom. He wanted to eat quickly so he could go back to his room.
"Hey, Mitsuki, did you hear that Izuku is in town now?" Masaru, the family's patriarch, asked with a hint of excitement in his voice as he leaned back in his chair, the warmth of the evening enveloping them. Mitsuki paused mid-bite, the fork halting just before her lips, her eyes narrowing in curiosity. The clinking of silverware faded, and it was clear that someone else at the table had also caught wind of the conversation.
"Really? I had no idea! Where did you happen to see him?" Mitsuki asked eagerly, her interest piqued, as anticipation sparkled in her gaze.
"I spotted him this morning at Dagobah Beach, a serene stretch of coast where the waves crashed gently against the shore. He was diligently picking up litter, his hands moving rhythmically as he cleaned the sand. When I enquired about his motivation for such an endeavour, he explained that it was part of his community service but also served as a form of training for him. He added that he had returned just two days prior." Masaru replied, pausing to take a bite of his dinner, the flavours mingling with the weight of his thoughts. "I wonder if he'll come by to visit us."
At this, Mitsuki's expression darkened, her eyes clouded with melancholy. In a flat tone that almost echoed her mood, she replied, "You know that he won't." Masaru caught her meaning instantly, and together, they shifted their gaze toward Katsuki.
"W-what are you looking at?" Bakugo asked in surprise.
But they ignored him. "You said he was cleaning the beach for service and training, right?" Mitsuki asked, to which Masaru nodded, "He is such a good kid, always trying to do good and helping others; I wish that he were my son instead of this brat."
"HEY, I AM STILL HERE," Katsuki yelled at them.
"SO, WHAT?" She slammed her hand on the table. "YOU BULLIED HIM FOR 10 FREAKING YEARS, KATSUKI BAKUGOU." She retorted back to him. "I am still surprised that he still respects me and your father rather than downright hating us for his whole life. I didn't want to say it, Katsuki, but I truly pray to God that you have his one, at the very least just one, quality inside."
"YOU'RE COMPARING ME WITH THAT GOOD-FOR-NOTHING DEKU?"
"Your mother is right, Katsuki. What you did was not even mentionable. It was truly shameful when Inko showed us that footage; I don't know where she got it, and I don't even want to know. We are grateful to her that she didn't file a complaint against you." Masaru told him with his extremely rare angry expression.
Mitsuki said, "I am grateful to Inko that she didn't break our friendship; still, I can't talk to her like before. But worse, Hisashi's and my relations got worse."
Katsuki was ready to storm off to his room, but he stopped at the mention of Hisashi.
"Mitsuki, you never told me about what exactly happened between you and Hisashi that you were on bad terms for so long. You only told me that you knew him from your previous job."
"I think it's time for me to share something important with you." She hesitated for a brief moment, gathering her thoughts, then continued with a grave expression, "Before your and my paths crossed, I worked as a government employee, and to be honest, I found no joy in that job. It felt like I was simply going through the motions, longing for a reason—any reason—to break free from its confines.
Then came a pivotal opportunity: my team and I were handpicked for an important assignment, one that would require us to provide support to a powerful leader. This assignment thrust us into a partnership with a private company notorious for its questionable reputation, a firm that stirred a mix of distrust and disdain among the public. Among those tangled in this web was Hisashi. Hisashi wasn't merely an employee; he was a complex figure, straddling the line between exceptional talent and deeply flawed character. He was one of the worst-reputed men there and also the best in that field of work.
Throughout that assignment, my leader was the face of our collaboration, handling all communications and dealings with Hisashi. This meant I remained somewhat of a shadow, observing from a distance without ever truly coming to know him. My interactions were limited, leaving me with only glimpses of the man behind the reputation.
After completing that assignment, I made the decision to leave my government job once and for all. Around the same time, I discovered that Inko and Hisashi were romantically involved. Anger surged within me at the thought—how could she fall for him? I felt compelled to warn her but was met with Hisashi's assurances that he had turned over a new leaf, coupled with my leader's encouragement to give him a chance. Though they convinced me to hold my tongue, a sense of caution lingered in my mind. I kept my defences up, unwilling to let my guard down around him.
Now, however, the roles have reversed, and I find myself in a very different situation."
Masaru then sighed and said, "After Izuku was born, the family's financial situation became quite challenging. In light of this, Hisashi felt he had no choice but to accept a job offer overseas, where he would arrange deals with foreign companies. Before he left, he entrusted us with the care of Inko and Izuku, hoping we would be there for them in his absence, and we betrayed that trust."
"All because of this idiot." She said, looking at her son. "I don't know where you got that'Quirk above everything'bullshit mindset or why you started bullying Izuku."
Katsuki slammed his palm down on the polished wooden table, the sound echoing through the room like a thunderclap. "I've heard enough of that," he snapped, his voice a mixture of anger and frustration. "I don't care what you two think of me." His eyes flashed with intensity as he continued, "Don't say that we were friends before; it was nothing but a mistake to even befriend him. I am 'me', and I will do what I like—what matters is my choice."
With a huff of indignation, he stormed out of the room, his footsteps heavy and purposeful, leaving his parents in a tense silence that hung thick in the air like a storm cloud. The weight of his words settled around them, laden with disappointment and unspoken hurt.
Mitsuki's gaze fell to the table, her expression one of profound sadness as she whispered, "Both of them were such good friends once. I truly don't understand where everything went wrong."
The sorrow in her voice was palpable. "It must be our negligence that led to this." She looked at her husband, her eyes brimming with concern, and the silence stretched between them, filled with the echoes of lost connections.

Chapter 11 End
A/N: Thank You for Reading
How do you like this chapter? I hope good. The reunion of Midoriya and Bakugo was one of the most interesting parts to write, after which Bakugo's family was an interesting part, in my opinion. Because ideas were surging inside my head from the start.
Mitsuki's past was an original take in this chapter.
If I say honestly, then writing original characters and stories was my favourite thing.
[Reply] Here you go. What you asked for.
[Review 02: By the mysterious Mr E] an awesome chapter, I do believe he should get the quirk. with his assassin training he could be a lot stronger and able to use more of it than his Canon counterpart. But I can also see the The point of view of people who want him to see that he can be a hero with his own effort as well.
[Reply] Thanks for the suggestion.
[Review 03: By Tiger1301] I think the best course of action fo Midoriya would be to take ofa but becoming his own hero, maybe taking inspiration from All Might's style but making it its own.
[Reply] Thanks for the suggestion.
[Review 04: By Guest] I think midoriya will take OFA however he must say to All Might that he will take OFA but he must become a hero in all teaching that is mix together as become a hero in on style like take legacy of OFA but become a hero of on style.
[Reply] Thanks for the suggestion.
The next chapter will be a conversation between Tsukauchi and All Might on the investigation asked by All Might. You will know 3E managed to keep their identities hidden from the world. Their past and what contribution All Might made in fighting Koro-sensei.
Next chapter on the 27th of March.
