Prompt: "Do you trust me?"

"No."

"Smart man."

Pru was really attempting to not bust out laughing at the scene in front of her. It had really been all that she could do to not join Eliot in his beatdown of James Sterling after the insurance agent had walked into McRory's when the whole team was down there. While she hadn't been physically present for any of the team's previous meetings with Sterling, she had definitely seen the aftermath. It wasn't until the idiot had mentioned that Maggie was in trouble that Nate insisted that Eliot brought him upstairs.

Now, the manager was watching as Alec dumped out a box of fake passports onto the sitting room table and the team started to go through them. Pru tossed the washcloth she'd wetted down at Sterling (who caught it) before she sat on the small table between Tara and Eliot, who were on the couch and an armchair, respectively. The insurance investigator was starting to pace in front of the monitors before he started explaining why he was there.

"This Faberge egg was commissioned by Czar Nicholas of Russia. Being one of only sixty-nine known to survive, it's worth nine million dollars. Maggie was working at the museum, verifying Russian artifacts donated for an exhibit. The night of the robbery, she was the only person at the museum. And there you have it."

Tara leaned toward Pru. "And who is Maggie?"

Eliot answered instead. "Maggie's Nate's ex-wife."

"Okay, is there any chance that she took the egg?"

Parker answered this time as both Eliot and Pru scoffed. "No, Maggie's the most honest person we know. But besides that, she's okay."

Nate spoke up now as he walked down the stairs and into the sitting room. "Maggie's being set up."

Pru narrowed her eyes at Sterling as he raised an eyebrow. "You live and work here?"

"Yeah."

He shrugged. "I like the old place better."

Alec sneered at the insurance investigator at that. "Do not mention the old offices."

Pru clicked her tongue before narrowing her eyes at Sterling. "You have anything to add to what you already told us?"

He narrowed his own eyes at her. "And who are you even?"

The manager placed a hand on Eliot's shoulder as he started forward before she answered. "A concerned party with a valid question."

"What, don't you trust me?"

Alec, Parker, and Eliot joined her in answering. "No."

Nate scoffed to cover a smirk. "Smart people. Alright, everyone, let's get planning."

Pru narrowed her eyes again as they all started to plan. She was definitely keeping an eye on Sterling during this. Guess she was headed to Ukraine with the team. Oh, joy.
