Prompt: "Timing is key."
"Says the one that's always late."
Eliot was not having any of it, Pru could tell that from the moment that he'd walked into Nate's apartment. The mastermind had asked (read told) her to call the hitter so that Alec could brief him on the work that the hacker had already put into Eliot's cover for this con. What the rest of the team didn't seem to grasp was that there was something that Eliot was not a fan of with this con. Pru just hadn't had the time to ask him about it yet.
Alec, however, was in his element as he began explaining it all to the unamused hitter. "Alright, you got drafted in the sixth round right out of high school. Had a cup of coffee in the Royals organization, then you bounced around the minors, you bounced around the world. And, as we can see here, you made a very popular commercial for an energy in Japan." He started playing the commercial. "It took me thirteen hours."
Pru rolled her eyes from where she leaned on the back of the couch facing the two men. "You mean it took me two hours and you tried to upgrade it for eleven hours before going with my original."
As Alec turned and narrowed his eyes at her, Pru saw Eliot quickly school his features to hide a smirk before speaking up. "There's only one problem. I don't like baseball."
Now, Alec was looking at the hitter with wide eyes as Pru was attempting to not chuckle. "What? E-everybody likes baseball."
"I don't like baseball, man, alright? I don't like any sport that you can't score on defense. Football, hockey, even basketball, but baseball?"
Pru decided to finally let out her laughter, which caused the hitter to turn a glare onto her. She held up her hand in a placating manner. "No, no, I get it. I've been stuck at too many baseball games with no way out too many times to count. But one thing that I've learned from baseball is that timing is key."
Alec decided to scoff now as he glared at both the hitter and the manager. "Says the one who's always late." As Pru turned a glare onto him now, the hacker turned away from the other two people in the room with him. "You know what? I'm not even talking to the two of you anymore." And he walked away.
Eliot called after him. "It's boring." Turning back to the manager, who was laughing openly again, he smirked. "Can you play the commercial again? It's awesome."
She snorted as she hit a couple keys and started the commercial once again. "There, and it is on repeat. Remember that you are meeting the baseball team in an hour."
At Eliot's nod of acknowledgement, Pru moved around to sit on the couch and pulled her tablet closer to her. There was something about their mark (the mayor) that was bothering the manager. And she planned to figure out what it was.
