The Spectacular Spinneret

ESKK: Chapter 6 let's get things started.

(Start Parker/Watson Apartment Dining Room)

Mary Jane was on the phone again as it was her turn to watch the kids while Peter was on patrol. Peter also took his camera with him, so he was likely taking pictures of his actions as Spider-Man. Mayday and April were at the dining room table with crayons and paper as they were being kept occupied right now.

Dylan was watching Television while Venom was somewhere in the apartment. Mary Jane's area of the table was covered with papers and pamphlets like normal as she and Peter had narrowed down a venue for the wedding. April was improving with her symbiote powers with Venom's guidance of course and can actually keep up with the rest of them when they go on patrol together. Considering April can form her suit whenever she wants and however, she likes it saved them some money on buying materials for it.

They Reed and Sue had already agreed to watch Mayday, April, and Dylan while they were away. Aunt May was upset about it a bit, but she understood that the Fantastic Four had the best facilities to monitor Mayday and April's growing powers. School registration had already been handled for the kids so there was nothing to worry about there. School supplies had already been purchased as well and the girls were excited to be going to school for the first time.

But with so many heroes with kids Sue had been trying to organize something of a daycare for super powered children. And despite Mary Jane's objections Tony Stark seemed to be interested in this idea. But back to topic at the moment Mary Jane was on the phone with the agent for a venue she was hoping would host the wedding.

"Yes, my fiancé and I are hoping to rent the venue for our upcoming wedding." Mary Jane said for the umpteenth time today. "I was hoping you may have an opening for it." Mary Jane said as she had a pen and notepad in her hands in case, she needs to write anything down. However, Mary Janes smile soon morphed to concern when the pricing for it came in. "That much?" Mary Jane asked as that was just the deposit alone.

"Is there a problem?" The woman on the other end asked as Mary Jane sighed to this.

"Sorry it's the price is well above our current budget." Mary Jane admitted as she then sighed. "Sorry for wasting your time, but I'll have to look elsewhere." Mary Jane said before bidding the woman goodbye and hanging up. Once that was done, she sat down and crossed off another name on the ever shrinking list of venue ideas. She then let out a sigh of frustration as she rubbed her eyes a bit to this.

"Mom are you, ok?" April asked when she noticed her mother was frustrated.

"Yeah, sweetie mommy is just… tired is all." Mary Jane said as she had been trying to find a nice venue for the wedding. April already has her dress now thanks to Mary Jane getting it with any other items April would need such as a bunkbed. She and Peter may need to hold off on any future kids for the time being if only until they can find Eddie or Dylan goes to college whichever happens first.

Just then in her time of need the window opened. "Honey I'm home." Spider-Man was heard as the girl smiled at this.

"DADDY!" Mayday and April both called out with April jumping through the house with her Symbiote based powers and Mayday web swinging over to their shared father.

Spider-Man took off his mask and when he did, he caught both his girls in his arms. "There they are!" Peter cheered as he had the giggling twins in his arms.

"Welcome back tiger." Mary Jane greeted as Dylan simply waved and flipped to another channel. However, he had his feet on the coffee table and Venom seemed to arrive for that.

"Feet off the table Dylan." Venom scolded as he latched onto the boys legs and got them on the floor.

"Thank you, Venom." Mary Jane said as she then walked to her husband-to-be and gave him a kiss as the girls gushed at their parents being all romantic. Ever since they found April Venom had been a bit more proactive in the house… MJ thinks it's because helping April to control her powers gives him something to do. He really was a bit of a freeloader and house pet mixed into one and now he was less of those and was now more like an onsite nanny here. Still, that didn't stop Mary Jane from shooting the occasional jabs at their alien roommate.

"So how goes the venue hunt?" Peter asked as he put the girls down opting them to run off to another part of the apartment.

"Difficult." Mary Jane said as she then showed the paper for her desired choices showing about 80% of it was crossed off. "I'm worried we might not be able to afford the planned security." Mary Jane said as she had an idea to hire some top notch security for the event. The Defenders team were her choice not only because Peter knows them but also because Mary Jane did not want any attempts to forcibly split her and Peter up.

Peter was all for the security because they had both developed a healthy case of paranoia. After all, when it seems like every exterior power is working to split you two up it pays to have a safety net ready to catch both of you. Peter had actually been talking to Luke Cage and Jessica Jones about doing security at the wedding and after explaining their situation the agency were willing to give them a huge discount. Friends and Family discount as well as a bit of a we got your back discount mixed in.

But it won't mean much if they can't find a good venue to host it. Peter wanted nothing to go wrong and so did Mary Jane and for a moment they were tempted to host it at Larvartia just because Doom would assure its progression.

"Jeez all these venues are expensive if we tried for them, we'll have to cancel the honeymoon and security plans." Peter said seeing the issues that was on display here.

"I know budget and all and I want the perfect wedding without worry that some exterior force is going to try and break us up." Mary Jane said sitting down on the couch with despair. She and Peter had gone through so much already she wanted this to be perfect for the both of them.

"Take it easy we'll figure something out." Peter said as Dylan was listening in on them.

"Jeez you guys are dumb." Dylan said causing Venom to glare.

"Dylan watch it." Venom warned but Dylan kept talking.

"You guys know all these heroes, the Fantastic Four, Dr. Strange, and even the fricking Avengers." Dylan said listing off the people they knew. "Can't you ask one of them to host the wedding at their very public bases or something?" Dylan asked and this got Peter and MJ to pause. At first it looked like they were ready to scold Dylan before his words registered to them. What followed was the couple facepalming themselves realizing that Dylan had made an excellent point here.

Despite being a sight for villains to invade the Baxter Building, Avengers Mansion, and even the Xavier Institute would have served perfectly as venues. Plus, the fact they knew the people there would also help with keeping the event safe. After all, how likely would it be to succeed in an attack when the entire venue has several famous super powered beings attending the event?

"I'll go call Reed." Peter said knowing he was the man to ask about using the Baxter Building for the wedding. Dylan smirked as he went back to watching TV knowing his work was done. Venom sighed as he slimed through the apartment back over to his normal hiding spot.

(Scene Break that evening Vana)

Vana was preparing for another round of patrols as she put on the Jackpot outfit. Stretching a bit, the woman smirked as she was getting ever closer to her goal. The Long game was one that required patience and focus. Her following was slowing building in terms of views and subscriptions. Her videos as Vanna tearing into the Superhero Community as well as praising them was giving her plenty of followers.

In terms of content all her streams had been reviews about heroes or her voicing complaints about the communities flaws. While the Registration Act had caused a civil war she voiced how while flawed did help to make heroes accountable for their actions during a fight with a villain. That one was a major controversial video, but controversy sells. She made it clear in that video that her view was for accountability not government oversight which had people talking.

Her latest video of course had been for the Spider-Family once more. Apparently, they now had a second young hero in their merry brood. A young thing in dark blue called, Wild Spider. Of course, her powers seem to be a bit more towards that brute Venom. Already Vanna had voiced her opinion on children being in the superhero roles. At the same time, she had reviewed the Spider-Families battle with Scorpion praising them for sending Spider-Girl on civilian securement first.

"Hey honey." Paul greeted as he got ready to get on the computer to be Vanna's guy in the chair. "I got the bracelets made." Paul said showing two bracelets designed for children's uses. Plus, they had the mind control aspects of it so this would allow for Jackpots new sidekicks to work for her without realizing how they were, 'liberated,' from the streets.

"Baby you are an artist." Vanna said with a smile as she looked at the bracelets. "It's a good thing I was researching areas of the city that had the most homeless people because otherwise I would never find any would be orphans to serve at being my new sidekicks." Vanna said in an almost smug tone to her boyfriend.

"Anything for you honey." Paul responded as he started to see the benefit of Vanna's plans to improve their lives. Vanna gave Paul a kiss on the cheek and proceeded to depart from the apartment via the window. Her goal was already clear all she had to do was find some villain and, on her way, back nab some kids.

(Scene Break a Week Later)

Good news all around for the soon to be returned Parker family. After Peter had contacted Johnny about the venue request Mary Jane had gotten a call from Sue Richards nee Storm that same day. Needless to say, the Fantastic Four was more then happy to let them host the wedding at the Baxter Building. When asked about payment the Superhero Family assured them that they didn't have to worry about paying anything.

Peter was practically an uncle to Valeria and Franklen and an unofficial member of the family at this point. They were more then willing to help out, plus Valeria and Franklen loved hanging out with Mayday and April as well as Ben's kids Jo-Venn and N'Kala. Plus, Dylan needs some male friends like Franklen and Jo-Venn being the only young male in the house full of girls.

As for security while Reed wasn't overly happy about it, he accepted that Peter and Mary Jane were taking every precaution for the event. The Defenders were hired as security for the event simply because the new parents were worried some outside force will try to split them up again. There was one stipulation for the event however an idea that Mary Jane came up with. If Doctor Doom shows up, let him in.

Reed was ticked of course but a careful explanation was all he needed. Mary Jane knows Doom was Valeria's god daughter and would not dare to allow any harm upon her. His obsession with being better then Reed would ensure this of the man in question. That means if an outside power tries to ruin the wedding, they have added security in the form of Dr. Doom. Mary Jane was banking on Dooms pride forming a shield during the event.

It was underhanded but when you have had the literal devil himself trying to split you up every layer of defense counts. Reed didn't like it nor approved but he also understood that Peter and Mary Jane were worried about threats. Plus, the Defenders got the couple set up with a good deal for their service. Jessica's idea but still counts.

It seems also that Johnny the eternal bachelor had taken it upon himself to find the entertainment for the event. Say what you will but Johnny would always have Spider-Man's back even for his wedding. Everything was going smoothly for the couple and their daughters. Even Mayday and April's training with their powers had seen vast improvement. But for Peter he could not help feeling that this was just the calm before the coming storm. All this good stuff happening for them was just begging for Parker Luck to ruin it all. With three spider Parkers Peter was get paranoid.

Currently the Spider-Family was swinging through the city on webs and in April's case webs and symbiote tendrils. Dylan was currently hanging out with Franklin and Jo-Venn while Venom was back at the apartment home alone, so this allowed the family to go out like this. They were planning on a family fun day and wanted to bring Dylan along.

The family kept moving through the city as at least until they arrive to a familiar sight. A massive shoot out with the cops as the family saw what was going on. "Well, isn't this an old classic." Spider-Man said as he saw what was going on. "Ok girls you know the drill get the civilians away and let us handle the robbers." Spider-Man said to Spider-Girl and Wild-Spider.

"Right!" The girls said and thus the family got moving to help bring the crooks down. Moving in the spider-family got to work and needless to say it was a quick run of the mill job. Shooters fired spiders dodged, and shooters got webbed up. Quick simple and easy.

However, something was different about this. There didn't seem to be any major thefts here or even a street gang taking territory this just seemed random and chaotic even for the family. The girls were watching as the cops took care of the crooks while Spinneret saw how concerned Spider-Man was here.

"Hey Tiger, is everything ok?" Spinneret asked as Spider-Man looked around the scene for a bit.

"I don't know, you ever get that feeling that… something bad is about to happen?" Spider-Man asked as he looked to Spinneret.

However, before Spinneret could answer the combination of four sets of Spider-Senses went off. "You mean like right now?" Spinneret asked and in turn a familiar laugh was heard.

"CAN THE SPIDER-MAN COME OUT TO PLAY!?" Came a voice that Spider-Man and Spinneret knew by instinct. Just then the parents saw Pumpkin Bombs coming at them forcing them to act. Spider-Man and Spinneret jumped out of the way as Spinneret went to the girls and moved them.

The bombs went off and the chaos began anew. Looking to the source they saw a familiar figure on a familiar glider hovering towards them. Spider-Man was wide eyed in horror as was Spinneret as they saw that an old nemesis was back, the Green Goblin.

"No!" Spider-Man gasped horrified that his paranoia was right. Green Goblin laughed as Spider-Man reorganized himself but inside he was in distress. Why? Why was the Green Goblin back? Didn't Osborn redeem himself after the Venom War had ended?

"That's right Spider-Man I am back!" Green Goblin laughed as he then took out two Pumpkin bombs and threw them at the web head. Moving Spider-Man jumped out of the way and then used his web to have the bombs go off harmlessly in the sky.

"Osborn! I thought you were done with being the Green Goblin!" Spider-Man yelled as he pointed an accusing finger at the Green Goblin.

"What can I say old habits die hard." Goblin taunted and flew in on his glider only for Spider-Man to jump and avoid the insane villain. He then took another bomb and threw it at the girls causing them to act. Spinneret grabbed the bomb in a web line and threw it back at Goblin who weaved around and avoided it.

"Oh, look you brought the family to play." Green Goblin laughed when he saw Spinneret, Spider-Girl, and Wild Spider in play.

"Girls… RUN!" Spinneret called out knowing exactly how dangerous the Green Goblin was.

"But." Spider-Girl began but Spinneret cut her off.

"NOW!" Spinneret yelled and thus the girls nodded and sent out web lines to run.

"Oh, where are the little ones going?" Green Goblin asked with laughter as he began to give chase. Instead, Spider-Man sent a web line at the glider and yanked it and goblin away from his daughters. Green Goblin was sent off course, but he regained himself long enough to avoid an attack from the mother.

Spider-Man and Spinneret glared at Green Goblin knowing how much a threat he was. They also knew that their daughters would be safe as long as they kept Goblins attention on them. "Come on Goblin lets rumble like old times." Spider-Man said making it clear he would not allow for the Green Goblin to get away with his normal schemes.

"What afraid those two will be the second Gwen Stacy?" Green Goblin asked which served to trigger Spider-Man. With a roar Spider-Man went after Green Goblin who laughed as they began to duke it out. As they fought however a new voice was heard cutting in on the action here.

"Back off Mr. Halloween town!" Came the voice of Jackpot as she flew in and fired an energy blast at the Green Goblin. Spider-Man moved as Green Goblin avoided the shot. "Low and behold your newest arch nemesis has arrived." Jackpot boasted as she looked at Green Goblin with a drone recording everything for her live stream.

"Jackpot run he's too much for you!" Spinneret called out but Vanna would not listen nor would Jackpot.

"Oh, please he's just some loser playing pretend." Jackpot said and in turn charged into the fight with flight. However Green Goblin gave Jackpot a bored expression like Jackpot was not even a threat to him. In turn he easily avoided her attack and grabbed her by the neck before throwing her aside. Jackpot flew and hit a wall but began to get back up. However, she was then caught off guard by a set of Pumpkin Bombs that went off sending Vana flying her suit damaged from the blast.

As Vanna began to get up after landing on a car denting it, she cried out as she felt blades stabbing into her body. She looked and tried to use her bracelet only for Green Goblin to appear and slammed her into the ground and then proceeded to stomp down on her bracelet arm breaking both the arm and bracelet. When the audible snap was heard Vanna screamed in pain as Green Goblin then slammed her into the window before tossing the woman aside.

"That was way too easy." Goblin said as he began to approach Vanna who then began to scoot away in fear.

"W-wait we can talk about this." Vanna cried out trying to shield herself from the Green Goblin. "Do you want the bracelet my boyfriend knows how to make them." Vanna offered as she was selling out Paul. Green Goblin then slammed Vanna aside knocking her down hard. Vanna tried to crawl away as she was cornered against another car. "Ok maybe not that but hey how about I throw in those kids I picked off the street I don't need those brats just please let me go." Vanna said confessing that she abducted children all so she can save her own skin. "Heck they were putting up a fight when we got the bracelets on them but their docile now you can take them mold them and use them better then we can." Vanna said only for Green Goblin to grab Vanna by her hair and slammed her into a window leaving her face bloody.

"Please no stop please!" Vanna begged as she realized she bit off more than she can chew.

"That's enough Goblin!" Spider-Man called out and pulled the Green Goblin away from Vanna via a line of web. Green Goblin was flying back but he cut himself lose and easily landed back on his glider.

"Its all well and good I was bored anyway." Green Goblin said with a cackle. "I just wanted to introduce myself to the family." Green Goblin said as he then began to fly off laughing in a vile manner.

"Wait!" Spider-Man called out as Vanna was trying to crawl away. But Spider-Man was stopped by Spinneret as she had other concerns.

"Spider-Man call the girls." Spinneret said as Spider-Man nodded knowing the girls safety were top priority. "I need to deal with something." Spinneret said as she glared at the now pathetic looking Vanna who nursed a broken arm.

Seeing this Spider-Man gave Spinneret some space as Spinneret approached the terrified Vanna. Spinneret grabbed Vanna and hoisted the girl up after she had confessed to kidnapping all to save her own life. "Vanna I'm only going to ask once… where are those kids?" Spinneret snarled glaring at Jackpot who saw the camera was now on her realizing her plans were all destroyed and with it whatever had been left of her reputation.

(Later at the Smith/Rabbin Apartment)

Spider-Man, Spider-Girl, Spinneret, and Wild-Spider all arrived on the scene with police already moving in. Vanna had been apprehended and with it her criminal record was becoming known to everyone. When the family arrived, they managed to break into the apartment noting how nice it looked and began to search for the children wherever they were hidden.

Police came in but what they found was an empty apartment. "Hey, is anyone in here!" Peter called out as he looked for the kids.

"Paul, you better show yourself or so help me I will beat you into a coma!" Spinneret called out as Spider-Man noticed a door with the lights on in the room. Moving in Spider-Man tore the door off its hinges but when he did, he was wide eyed at what he saw inside. Spinneret was also seeing it as she was left horrified by the sight. "Girls wait outside now!" Spider-Man ordered not wanting his daughters to see what had been found.

Inside the room it looked dingy and unkept. But inside was a different story. Two young children were inside there blood staining the mattress and floor as they laid there limp, dead. They had bruising on there bodies as they noted the Jackpot bracelets on their arms though designed differently. Seeing the scene Mary Jane hugged Peter as she tried not to look and think of their own little girls. The children a boy and a girl were in the room dead murdered likely by Paul Jeremiah Rabbin.

(Meanwhile with Paul darkened alleyway)

Paul made it out in time as he had run as far away from his apartment as he possibly could. He was gasping for breath as he sat there horrified and shocked over what had just transpired before his eyes. In his hand was the item he used to kill those kids to cover his tracks the same tool his father had used at the beginning of his mad plan for genocide against the world.

His hands were shaking as he dropped the blood covered weapon. It won't be long before police start looking for him. But they didn't give him a choice, Vanna sold him out and now Paul was on the run. Why? Why? Why was everything turning out this way!? So, what he helped his father commit a genocide, but he didn't have a choice! Vana no Mary Jane understood that… right.

No, she didn't its why she left… no she abandoned him, and his father thought him so pathetic that he needed to manipulate him a life partner. He was innocent it was everyone else who was the problem, Parker for not moving on, his father for manipulating him, Vanna for selling him out, and Mary Jane most of all for abandoning him. They will pay… they will ALL pay! Leaving the alleyway Paul intended to leave the city and hide out maybe find the Equation his father had been so invested in so long ago.
