Rubble's POV:

I couldn't help but recall what happened earlier at the interrogation. It all happened so fast, and I didn't see it coming. That scene wouldn't put me to sleep.

-Flashback-

I was taken into a room where there was a table with two chairs. Chase sat on one and the other was empty, which was where I was supposed to sit. I trembled at first, but when I sat down, I spoke to Chase as if it was a casual conversation. After all, it was Chase.

"So, why did you call me in?" I asked.

"Oh, um... I just wanted to ask a few questions. But first, how are you?" Chase answered, kindly asking how I was.

"I'm fine... It's just... You know, things aren't as normal as they used to be ever since..."

I paused at my sentence because I was sure Chase knew what I meant.

"I know. I get it... Things have gotten crazy ever since the princess died. But don't worry, this will end soon."

Chase, seeing me feel comfortable, tried to start with his questions without making it so awkward.

"I don't want to accuse you right away, Rubble. But... can I at least ask you some questions?"

"Sure..."

"Okay," Chase took a deep breath before he spoke again, "Were you ever mad at the Princess? Or, you know, hated her?"

"Um, no... Not really. It's just that I feel like she's weird. Like, she's been strange around Ryder lately."

"Yeah, I've noticed it too..." Chase nodded in agreement, "Where were you when the Princess was found dead?"

"In the bedroom, sleeping, I guess. The first thing I remember was Skye shrieking inside the room, saying that the Princess was dead. We couldn't take it seriously until you showed up."

"Okay. Yeah, I saw you waking up groggily with Rocky and Marshall too... How about Sweetie?"

"Um, what about her?" I asked as the topic began to point at Sweetie.

"Has she been acting weird or anything? I know you two are close, so I thought you might know."

"Yeah, we're close. But she hasn't been telling me anything lately. She hasn't been acting strange either."

"Alright. I guess I'll find out more when I talk to Sweetie. But here's my last question."

"Okay, sure..."

Chase took out a Ziploc with a knife inside it. The knife was found in the crime scene.

"Does this look familiar to you?"

I paused for a minute or so, still staring at the knife. My eyes widened as I gazed upon the knife.

"Uh... n-no. H-Haven't seen that knife before," I answered.

"Okay. Thanks, Rubble. That's all the questions I have for now," Chase thanked me as he led me out the door.

"No problem..." I smiled.

Rocky's POV:

I couldn't sleep. The questioning from earlier was bugging me, but I just don't know why. I tried to close my eyes, but I could only imagine that same scene again.

-Flashback-

"Hey, Rocky! What's up?"

"Oh, nothing much. Except that the Princess' parents yelled at our faces earlier instead of accepting our sympathy and everything," I shortly told him.

"Oh, well, that's shocking!" Chase said, surprisingly.

"I know. They think we could be behind all this," I said, "Y-You don't think the same, do you?"

"No, of course not. But I just want to be sure," Chase assured me while I sighed in relief.

Chase began to start asking.

"Have you ever had a grudge with the Princess? Like, recently?"

"Me?... Uh, I don't think so," I replied, "She even likes asking me to give her this and that, and I don't mind that at all."

"I see. And the night she died, you woke up to the sound of Skye screaming, right?"

"Yes. I wonder why she was awake, though," I wondered.

"Zuma had to go, but Skye, I'll still have to find out," Chase answered, "Speaking of Zuma, you two are close buddies, aren't you?"

"Oh, yeah... Of course, we are!"

"How is he doing lately?"

I took a deep breath before saying this.

"He's okay. But I'm sure you know he's been feeling down lately. He's been feeling like he's not being used in the team, and it makes him sad. I try to cheer him up now and then. I think he's kinda feeling better now."

"Yeah, I've kinda noticed that too..." Chase nodded, "Okay, last question, is this familiar to you?"

Chase took out a clear Ziploc where a knife was seen inside. The same knife we all saw at the crime scene.

"Nope, never seen it before,"

"Yeah, I still haven't examined this much yet. But you know what? I'm starting to guess this might not be the main murder weapon," Chase said.

"You think so?"

"Uh-huh... Remember the glass on her side table? Her fingerprints were all over it. And Zuma's too, well, after he touched and nearly licked it."

"Oh, yeah... I remember," I nodded.

"I have a feeling that could have poison, but I still haven't gotten the autopsy results, so I still can't be sure."

I could only nod at his reply.

"Anyway, I think that's all the questions I have. You can go now," Chase told me.

"Okay. And thanks, Chase," Rocky replied.

"Sure..."

Sweetie's POV

Last night, I couldn't sleep well. I thought I wouldn't have trouble sleeping tonight, but I was wrong. I bet the questioning from earlier ruined it all.

-Flashback-

"Um... Hi, I guess," I muttered with a frown as I was forced to come into the room.

"Hello, Sweetie... Sorry if this interrupted any of your plans," Chase said.

"Oh, no, it's fine. I don't really have any plans to cause trouble since this happened out of nowhere," I replied, a bit sarcastic.

"Okay, then... Well, I would like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind."

"Fine, ask away..."

"Were you ever angry at the Princess?" Chase questioned.

"Me? No, never..."

"Really? 'Cause you tried to steal the crown and all countless times."

"I was mad at all of you pups during those times, never at the Princess. Okay, maybe a bit upset whenever she sends me to the doghouse."

"And you weren't sent to the doghouse the night she died, right?" Chase confirmed.

"You saw where I slept that night. I wasn't in my doghouse, and she let me sleep in her room," I answered.

"Yeah, we all saw you," Chase nodded, "Which is gonna be my next question. You were there, sleeping in a room with a dead body. What can you say about that?"

"Nothing much... Because I saw and heard nothing. Who knew that killer was so sneaky!"

"Sweetie, I need you to take this seriously!" Chase said, as he began to raise his voice at me, "Did you see or hear anyone?"

"I'm serious... I saw no one, I heard no one. That's all!"

"Not even a creaking door?"

"Nope."

"Okay. Well, have you seen anyone else being suspicious before the murder?" Chase continued.

I tried to think, recalling things before the Princess died. Then, I remembered something.

"Well, I do remember the Princess asking for milk," I replied.

"Who did she ask for milk?"

"I think she asked Rocky," I responded.

"I need you to be sure, Sweetie," Chase said.

"Okay okay! It's Rocky. The Princess asked Rocky to bring her a glass of milk. But I fell asleep after Rocky walked out to get her some milk. The next thing I woke up, she was dead."

"Yeah, and the glass of milk was nearly finished."

"Oh, so she did drink it?"

"Could there be another reason why the glass was nearly empty?" Chase told me. I remained silent, "Okay, last question."

Chase brought a Ziploc with a knife inside it and dropped it on the table right in front of my eyes.

"Is this familiar to you?"

I looked closely before answering.

"No, haven't seen it before... But seems like it's a kitchen knife."

"It is a kitchen knife."

I stared at it a little more, trying to see if it looked familiar in any way.

"I haven't even seen this knife in our kitchen before," I said.

"You sure?"

"Mm-hmm..."

Chase took a deep breath as he concluded the questioning.

"I guess that's all I have for now. I'll see you again, then, Sweetie."

"Wait, so there's a part two?" I said, a bit surprised.

"There could be, just stand by."

Chase watched me walk out the door. As I walked out, I thought about his last words. This isn't over yet, is it?

-End of Flashback-

Hey, Detectives!

Well, the interrogation has finally begun! Tons of evidence are all in front of you. Who seems to be suspicious? Who could be the killer? Whoever it is, all I can say is that they all have something to hide.

You get to see Skye and Zuma's interrogation in the next chapter, so stand by! After all, Chase did mention there could be a part two of their interrogations.

Shout out to again, everyone, and see you all in the next chapter.
