Every child has dreamed of being a superhero. However, being a superhero remains kids' dreams. If people actually became superheroes, there would be disastrous consequences like facing the law, accidentally taking out the wrong person or worse... causing a chain of horrific events. It wouldn't be practical to become a superhero in real life, there would be dangerous consequences and it could even put innocent people's lives on the line. I wonder what would happen if someone actually took the path to becoming a superhero? Let's find out, shall we?

In a seemingly ordinary town in a seemingly ordinary day, there lived a boy by the name of Ben. Every day, he did what ordinary people did. Wake up, eat breakfast, brush teeth, go to school, go home and go on with the rest of the day, and it all happens again the next day. Just an average life, but Ben didn't mind. Today was the last day of school, and Ben was desperate for it to be over.

Meanwhile...

"Normally we take your money and beat you up, but since it's the last day of school we're gonna give you a break. Now fork over the cash, so we can get outta here."

"Leave him alone!"

Two bullies cornered another student, the bullies' names were "Cash" and "JT". They were infamous for being the worst bullies in Madison Elementary School.

"Get lost, shrimp."

"I said back off."

"Oh, looks like we got ourselves a hero. Suppose we don't wanna back off."

"What you gonna do about it, Tennyson?"

At this, Ben ended up doing a cowboy-styled standoff against Cash and JT. JT looked around, before Ben tried to get to him and Cash. Unfortunately...

"Haha! Seeya losers!"

"Thanks a lot."

"I-I was just tryna help."

"Next time you wanna play hero, make sure you can back it up."

After the kid basically told off Ben, someone honked their vehicle's horn. The vehicle was a blue RV (recreational vehicle). Ben recognized the blue vehicle, it was his grandfather Max's vehicle which was called the "Rustbucket".

BEEP! BEEP!

"C'mon Ben! We're burnin' daylight! I wanna make it to the campsite by nightfall!"

"Uhh... grandpa? A lil' help here?"

A Few Minutes Later...

Soon, Max was on the road. Ben saw a familiar someone when he got in the Rustbucket, it was a girl with short brown hair and eyes of the same color. It was his cousin Gwen.

"Oh, hey Gwen."

"Hey."

Ben and Gwen had nothing in common, so it was pretty hard for them to just hang out. Ben liked all the "cool" stuff, while Gwen was more focused on her academic life. Whenever they talked to each other, it was pretty awkward. "Something tells me this is gonna be a long summer." thought Max.

A Few Hours Later...

Soon, everyone arrived at the campsite. Ben, Gwen and Max set up camp. While they were collecting firewood, Ben accidentally wandered a bit too far into the woods. Then...

FWOOSH!

"Whoa! A shooting star!"

A shooting star had appeared in the sky! Ben tried taking a closer look at it. However, it suddenly changed course and started heading straight for him!

FWOOSH!

"AAH!"

SMASH!

Ben accidentally hit his back on a nearby tree. When he was able to get up again, he looked around. He saw that the "shooting star" had formed a giant crater in front of him. Curiously, he approached it.

Once Ben got to the crater's edge, he took a better look at what actually nearly hit him. Turns out, it was a spherical container. Then, the crater's edge broke off making Ben fall in the crater itself.

CRACK!

"AAH!"

When Ben fell in the crater, he got to look at the spherical container even closer. It slid open, revealing a blue watch-like object inside.

"A watch? What's a watch doing in outer space?"

Curious, Ben reached for it. However, it suddenly jumped and latched on to his left wrist.

SNAP!

"AAH!"

Ben was surprised. Immediately, he started running back to the campsite dropping all the firewood he collected in the process. "-GRANDPAAA!" yelled Ben as he kept on running.

While Ben was running, a black and red UFO-like object kept following him. It was a drone of some sort. It took a little while, but Ben eventually noticed it. At first, he didn't think much about it. But then...

BOOM!

"AAH!"

It fired a laser at him! Ben saw that the laser could do actual damage, as there was now a smaller crater on the ground. Upon seeing this, he tried fleeing for his life. However, the drone continued to give chase. "AAH!" screamed Ben, but then...

FLASH!

The watch-like device glowed blue and turned him into a big burly beast with no eyes and blue fur. He had arrow-like stripes on his back that was a darker shade of blue, and he had gill-like organs on the sides of his neck. Finally, a shoulder brace appeared on his left shoulder with the watch's dial on it. Ben would eventually call this form "Wildmutt", but he hadn't named it yet during this time because he was new to this device at this point in time.

ROAR!

The beast's instincts took over Ben, it made him jump up high and slash at the drone that was chasing him.

SLASH!

The drone shattered into pieces, before the pieces themselves fell on the ground. After that, the watch reverted Ben back to his normal self.

FLASH!

Ben couldn't believe what he had just done. Did he really just turn into some kind of monster freak and destroyed a drone that was trying to attack him? It was weird, but at least it saved his life. With this, Ben fled the scene and went back to the campsite.

A Few Minutes Later...

"So you're saying that this "watch" jumped onto your wrist and clamped down on it?"

"Yeah. Now it's stuck and won't come off."

"I'll try to get it off of you."

After Max said that, he got his power tools from the Rustbucket. He tried using all of them to get rid of the watch, but he couldn't.

"Well... sorry sport. Looks like that thing's stuck on you."

Ben looked at the watch, he knew his life would change forever from this point on.
