"Sonic, you can't be serious!" Sonia says, Sonic still can't get over how annoying her voice sounds sometimes.
"You are way more fit out to be Queen than I am to be King. We both know that. Plus I want to get out there!" He points to the hills.
"We all want to get out, Sonic."
"I want to explore, go on adventures! No going out, living out there!" Sonic says, going out their window to feel the wind of his face. Sonia rolls her eyes.
"Again, you can't be serious."
"As serious as a heart attack sister"
"Where are you even going to go?"
"I'll figure it out"
"This is a stupid idea, at least come back if you get hurt." Sonia pleads.
"Fine, if I do, I'll come back, promise"
"Okay… but this is still a stupid idea."
"Yeah, yeah… Just don't tell Manic or Mom or Mom that I left, okay?"
"Fine, but I swear to Gaia-"
"I'll be fine, see ya!" With that Sonic exits the Castle out the Window. Sonia rushes to said window and finds Sonic smiling in a bed of leafs, completely unharmed. He waved goodbye, and Sonia does back. Then he begins to run. A lot faster than Sonia thought he could. But maybe it's just her imagination. She turns around just as soon as Sonic starts going even faster.
Sonic had no idea he could run this fast. He was going so fast he could barely comprehend what was going on. Soon enough he was so far away, he had no idea where he was. He smiled, he was free for the first time. Now he actually needed to find a place to live or at least shelter. Which he found, a cave. So that's what he did, run around and sleep in caves. Finding food either randomly or in garbage cans, which he probably enjoyed way too much. But he was happy.
"Sonia, have you seen Sonic?" Bernie asked her daughter.
"No, I haven't." Sonia was still betting on Sonic coming home.
"Where could he be?" Bernie muttered under her breath. Eventually she called the guards, but they couldn't find Sonic. Then she called everyone else, they couldn't find Sonic. They called and called yet he didn't come. Sonia couldn't help but feel bad.
"Dear, what's wrong?" Aleena would ask Bernie, who was crying on the floor at the point she found her.
"He's gone, we can't find him."
"…Oh, this is bad, really bad."
They couldn't find him, they knew he was too fast for them to catch up. They sent out a search party, Sonia regretted letting him go. A lot, nobody could find him. He was gone, he was always too adventurous.
Sonic kept going around. Unaware of his Moms concerns about him and his sudden disappearance. Sonic was too happy being free and such to care about who missed him. Plus if they really did Sonia would've told them by now, right? So he didn't think much of it. So he continued to travel. Until one day he encountered something weird. A Robot that looked like a ladybug. So he did what any normal hedgehog would do. Jump on it, and out-proofed an animal from the rubble. A small little rabbit.
That only made Sonic more confused. Why was an animal trapped in a robot? He inspected it a bit, but with no answers. But then an Armadillo came up to him.
"Oh Hey! Did you do this?"
"Stop it? Yes, Create it? Nope"
"Dang it, Ray, get over here!"
A flying squirrel comes over and waves to Sonic. While the armadillo inspects the remaining pieces of the robot.
"Have you seen these before?" Sonic asks, Mighty looks up and gives Sonic a questioning look.
"Is this your first time seeing one of these?"
"Yes" Sonic confirms.
"Well, we've been seeing these for a while… Where did you come from?"
"Hedgehog Kingdom."
"That is far… so you've never seen a badnik before?"
"A what-now?"
"That's what we call them, we have no idea where they're coming from."
"Do you need help with that?"
"…What?"
"Help with figuring out who did it?"
"…I mean, I guess?"
"Cool, I had nothing to do anyways"
"…Alright, let's go then."
Mighty, Ray and Sonic all keep going, finding more robots. Which Sonic keeps jumping on. Surprisingly enough, Mighty and Ray can keep up with him. They're both a bit slower however and can't go as long as Sonic though.
"How did you get so fast?" Mighty asks.
"I dunno" Responds Sonic
The three continue until finding more and more, soon enough they're drowning in them. So many Badniks. Until they arrive where they're all coming from, Robotnick industries.
"Dr. Robotnick? This seems… off." Mighty looks around at the shop.
"Maybe he's a robot himself" Sonic jokes but only ends up scaring Ray, then Sonic profusely apologizes before Mighty beats him up for scaring his little brother.
The three enter the building, only to find more robots. With more animals inside. The three continue until finally they meet, Dr. Robotnick himself.
"Well, well, well, look who finally made it!"
"Who are you and why are you doing this?" Mighty interrogates and all Dr. Robotnick does is laugh at the question.
"Doesn't matter as you two… wait since when was there three?"
"Had nothing better to do."
"Well, that kinda messed this up." Dr. Robotnick presses a button which takes Mighty and Ray and puts them into molds for robots.
"…Mighty! Ray! What's your angle, Egg-Head?"
"Well I'm glad you asked- wait what did you just call me?"
"Egghead"
"Do NOT call me that."
"Egghead, Egghead, Egghead, Egghead, Egghead." Sonic says going around and around the Doctor.
"Enough!" Robotnick says and slams where Sonic is standing but Sonic dodges and accidentally hits the stop button. Mighty and Ray are let go and Sonic immediately goes to help them up.
"Oh so you thought you got away, did you?" Before Robotnick can do anything Mighty rails himself into the control panel, breaking it all.
"Yes, we did." Mighty says.
"Oh, okay… Bye-Bye." Eggman presses another, secret button. That is conveniently labeled as 'Self destruct button for this entire factory, incase I am cornered and need to kill people and escape myself' which is exactly what it does. Immediately Eggman disappears into the wall and Sonic grabs Mighty and Ray and books it out of the factory. Only barely making it out.
"I-I have n-never b-been s-s-so s-s-scared I-in m-my life." Ray spits out as soon as the three get out. Sonic smiles at the work he did, while Mighty and Ray are on the ground.
