*The Day of the Diamond Heist, aka, the 11th of April, around midday*

Kate furrowed her brows as she looked down at the Diamond Exhibit. From where she was perched amongst the rafters of the roof, she could just make out Julie, Rebecca and three of their friends. Kate briefly wondered how they had got in without Rebecca's ticket, but then shrugged it off: probably had used the power of money or the power of the do-you-know-who-my-father-is card. The first was more likely though, since Rebecca didn't seem that haughty as to pull the latter.

Kate adjusted the goggles tightly perched on her face. Fury had given them to all the agents going in for the arrest: the goggles protected people from hypnotic powers such as those that Peter Parker possessed.

Kate looked to her left where she could just barely make out Yelena, who was also hiding in the shadow of the rafters. It would have been quite easy to spot the two, had people actually looked up. They didn't though: it was actually pretty funny how rarely people looked up.

To Kate's right she could make out 8 more agents, the names of which she did not know (much to her own embarrassment) and had started naming them by the nicknames she had come up with:

There was grumpy since he was happy all the time (In Kate's mind that made sense okay?);
Then there was happy, who seemed to be grumpy all the time;
The third was named Red, because she had flaming-red hair;
The fourth was limpy, because he actually stubbed his toe on the way into the exhibit this morning and had limped around dramatically for a full 5 minutes;
The fifth was rolly, because he kept rolling his eyes at limpy that morning when the latter had stubbed his toe;
The sixth was bossy, since she was a very bossy person;
The seventh was silence, because she hadn't spoken a single word the whole time and
The eighth was chatter, who was very quiet, just as quiet as silence, but that nickname had already been taken, so Kate had to come up with something new.

To her left Kate noticed Yelena stiffen slightly: Peter Parker had entered the room. Yelena touched her comm and whispered into it: 'Target has entered the room. I repeat: target has entered the room.'

'Confirmed.' Rolly responded, shifting his weight onto his left foot, which caused bossy to glare at him: moving was not a smart plan, it attracted attention and then maybe someone would spot them.

Yelena's voice came over the comms again: 'Target making his way towards the diamond.'

'Shall we advance?' Chatter spoke up, speaking for the first time.

'Negative. Stand down until he actually does something.' Yelena responded. Kate smiled: it had been wise of Director Fury to put the Russian in charge: she knew what she was doing. She was also bossy enough to pull it off, which helped considerably, seeing as she was the boss at the moment.

Kate watched breathlessly as Peter made his way towards the diamond exhibit, talked kindly to an elderly man standing there, and examined the diamond closer. Kate fingered her bow nervously: it was hard standing by and doing nothing.

Suddenly, Peter looked up, and directly at Kate, gave her a short wave, and then, all hell broke loose.

Julie, Rebecca and their friends suddenly charged at a security guard. Kate cursed at herself: how had they not noticed that those 5 were hypnotised? Or did Peter do the thing like earlier, where he made them throw their phones into the ocean, even though he wasn't present?

'Engage.' Yelena's voice came over the comms, 'Remember to keep the goggles on at all times.' she reminded the agents, then jumped down. Kate bettered her position on the rafter and wrapped her legs around it. Then, in a leap of faith, fell sideways off of the rafter, so that she was now hanging upside down from it, her bow in her hands, ready to shoot at Peter.

Yelena meanwhile, had landed gracefully on the floor below, scoffing as she realised she accidentally had imitated her famous sister's fighting pose, then ran towards the 5 hypnotised girls, who were overpowering the guards.

Yelena smirked as she saw Julie give one of the 3 guards a good punch. Julie was a pretty good fighter. Which would have been cool, had she not been hypnotised.

Yelena breathed in a breath, and jumped into the fray. First incapacitate the five girls, then go after Peter, she decided. Though she would probably be able to ignore the last step, since that was Kate's job, together with two other agents.

Kate meanwhile, together with Silence and Chatter, advanced on the pinned Peter. Kate had quickly fired two successive shots, pinning him to a wall by his clothing. She had clipped her bow back to her back and jumped down, Silence and Chatter already advancing on the villain.

Peter smiled at them: 'Nice new goggles!' he called out as he pulled his clothes free with what seemed like super human strength, he smiled at Kate: 'You should have just let me go, pissing me off was not the best move here.' he informed her, then lunged.

Kate sidestepped, only avoiding the knife he had pulled out seemingly nowhere by millimetres. Silence and Chatter both shot their guns with tranq darts. Both hit their mark, but the Spider didn't seem very impressed or scared, on the contrary, he just seemed... amused.

'You really thought those were going to work on me?' he mocked them, his ever present smirk even more obvious.

'Obviously we did.' Kate told him, lunging at him with her electric baton, which he swerved away from effortlessly, whilst simultaneously catching two more tranq darts that were shot at him by Silence and Chatter in his hands. Kate cursed under her breath: super strength, reflexes and resistance to tranq darts. What next?

Her question was soon answered as he shot webs from his wrists, pinning Silence and Chatter to the ground. Great just great. She hoped Yelena was doing better.

Yelena, meanwhile, was doing worse. It was a lot harder fighting of 5 girls at the same time than one would think. Especially if one knew the girls were innocent, so you couldn't hurt them too badly.

Thankfully, she had 6 agents backing her up, which evened the odds out quite a bit. Yelena quickly dealt with Rebecca and her three other friends, then had a considerably hard time knocking Julie out.

Julie, as Yelena had noted before, was a superb fighter, and Yelena suspected she might have a few years of some form of martial arts under her belt.

Yelena ducked under a roundhouse kick from Julie, Julie's shoe only slightly grazing her head, though it was hard enough to send her goggles flying. Yelena cursed in Russian under her breath, then punched Julie hard on the hard, knocking her out immediately.

Behind her, the 6 other agents had cuffed up the 4 other girls and now started on Julie. SHIELD knew the girls had had no choice, but didn't want to risk it: they would first have to be evaluated to see if they had shaken the hypnosis off yet.

Yelena searched around for her goggles, and saw them lying several meters away, where they had skidded to during the scuffle. She quickly made her way towards the goggles as the 6 agents with her lugged the 5 girls out of the building, bringing them outside to a van that had been prepared beforehand for any hypnosis victims.

Kate, meanwhile, had seen Yelena's goggles fly off, her heart in her mouth as she prayed Peter wouldn't notice. She determined to distract him even more, lunging at him, delivering a double kick to his torso, which sent him flying back against the diamond exhibit, shattering the surrounding glass into a million pieces.

'Not nice!' Peter complained, picking himself up and looking over at Yelena, seeing her walk towards her fallen goggles: 'Helloo, someone seems to have lost their glasses.' he noted with a smile, running towards Yelena at super speed. Kate groaned: was there any power this guy didn't have?!

She sped after him, but it was too late. Yelena's pupils had retracted as she now turned to her friend, her expression melancholy, without a hint of her usual satirical eyes.

Peter smiled as he backed away: 'Yelena, do me a favour and kill your friend.' he ordered Yelena, whose head immediately snapped towards Kate.

Kate cursed under her breath as she ducked under a kick, her knees hitting the ground as she pushed herself up on her hands, twirling her legs from under her and against Yelena's, making her fall to the ground.

Kate quickly jumped up and Yelena followed her lead only a split second later. From the corner eye, Kate could see Peter taking the diamond from the exhibit, laughing loudly as he did so, taunting Silence and Chatter, who were still trying to free themselves from the webs.

Kate groaned: their mission was failing. She let out a gasp as Yelena's fist collided with her chest, pushing all her breath out of her. Kate stumbled back and quickly deflected another punch with her arm, and delivered her own:

'No hard feelings about this, right?' she asked Yelena as she kicked her hard against her head, though Yelena avoided the gross of her kick, sidestepping quickly. Yelena didn't answer, instead tackeling Kate to the ground, locking her fingers around her friend's neck, shutting off all the airflow.

Kate's eyes bulged as she tried to suck in air, her body pinned to the ground. Black spots twirled around the edges of her vision. Her lungs gasped for air. Her brain worked overtime, trying to find a similar scenario in which this had happened, in which she had escaped. Her brain found none. It just found 4 short words:I'm going to die.Kate was dyeing, no air was reaching her lungs, her eyes fluttered as the oxygen deprevation started getting to her.

Suddenly, Yelena was thrown off of her. The 6 agents who had left to detain the 5 girls had returned. Yelena growled and stood up again as Kate crawled away, gasping for air.

Bossy pulled out a tranq gun and shot Yelena, who immediately collapsed to the ground. Kate smiled ruefully, glancing down at her friend as she massaged her throat, looking back at the diamond exhibit. The diamond was gone. So was Peter.

After a few minutes of catching her breath, she stumbled over to it, checking to see if it maybe had just fallen out of sight. Instead, she just found a quickly scrabbled note:

It was a pleasure, see you again soon, agents. Yours sincerely, The Spider.

Kate sniffed: too bad he was already gone, she would have dearly pointed out to him how old he was for writing yours sincerely.
