Tails here with Chapter 12, and we're finally getting into the Edolas Arc, where I'm really starting with changes.
"I do not own RWBY or Fairy Tail, they belong to Viz Media and Hiro Mashima respectively.
Enjoy.
The Group is back at the Guild, it's now night, a much calmer yet almost numb Ruby walks off the airship, with a sleeping Annabeth on her back, but there are obvious signs that Annabeth had been crying. As they had gone to the Magic Council, gave them King Toma's warning, and got Jellal exonerated. They flew back to Crocus, and stayed for a while, and ended up with some pretty bad news, on top of, in Ruby's Mind, Makarov ruining her career, and blacklisting her from S-Class jobs, until she gets some therapy, Annabeth's father hadn't been found, one of the men that was helping him, was found dead in an underground ruin under the city. "I don't know who's behind this, but if Annabeth's father is dead, I'm going to kill whoever did it." Ruby mumbles, in a numb haze of pure loathing.
"Ruby, you take Annabeth to Macao's, and get some rest, I imagine you both need rest after today's event, Erza you go back to Fairy hills and rest, Jellal, you can stay at my house for the time being." Makarov says.
"Yes Master." Erza says, walking away.
"Thank you …Master" Jellal says, hesitating.
"Think nothing of it my boy, we do need to get you, your Guild Mark first, and Ruby, you know, I'm not punishing you right, I just want to make sure you're alright, you and I both know, you have some issues you need to deal with." Makarov says, and Ruby just walks away, seemingly ignoring him.
(I don't need therapy, I'm a hundred percent alright.) Ruby thinks, walking into Magnolia, when she has a spike of pain in her head, as a teacup appears in her mind.
"You alright, Ruby?" Jellal asks, noticing her flinch.
"I'm perfectly fine!" Ruby snaps, making him flinch back, she growls and walks away, after a while, she gets back to Macao's house, and steps in, to see Macao sitting at a table in the kitchen, and she notices the look of… guilt on his face.
"Your back…" Macao says, but notices Annabeth on her back. "Why's there a kid on your back, Ruby?" He asks, Ruby sighs, annoyed, and explains everything for a third time, why Princess Hisui was kidnapped, Annabeth being a Second Generation Devil Slayer and the Induced Magic Rejection, and finally her Father being attacked and going missing in Crocus, and one of his helpers being found dead. "Poor kid, she just got through a year of suffering, but now her family disappears." He says, and Ruby nods.
"When I came in, why'd you have a look of guilt on your face?" She asks, and he flinches.
"Go put her in bed first." He says, and Ruby nods, going upstairs, and he sighs. "She's probably going to hate me after this." He mutters, and he hears the stairs creaking, he looks and sees her coming back down, now with pajamas on, with red glowing particles around her, showing she just got done requipping into the pajamas. He gestures for her to sit across from him, and he takes a deep breath. "So how'd you take Makarov blacklisting you from S-Classes?" He asks. And she growls.
"How do you know about that?!" She grinds out, making him flinch, but he stands tall.
"Because he talked it over with Wakaba, Erza, Mirajane, and me." He says, surprising her. "Wakaba, Erza and I agreed with him, I agreed because it was actually me who suggested blacklisting you, while Mirajane said that you shouldn't be blacklisted from S-Classes altogether, but at least limited to a certain number a month." He says, she shoots up and growls, as her Magic manifests, painting the room in a red glow.
"Why would you do that? I worked hard to become an S-Class!" She snarls, but Macao doesn't budge.
"That may be so, but your entire life lately revolves around jobs, you need time to unwind, or you're going to burn yourself out, and we'll lose you too. You always called Mira irresponsible after Lisanna died, and yeah you were probably right. But what you're doing is just as bad if not worse; you're putting your own health at risk, and for what, Laxus being kicked out? I know Laxus isn't really a bad guy, but you need to face the facts, he made his choice and put not only the Guild at risk, but the whole town as well!" Macao yells, and her Magic spikes, but he sees the tears in her eyes.
"You think I don't know that, I'm the one who faced him, I'm the one who beat him… I'm the reason he's gone!" Ruby screams, surprising him, and he sighs.
"Ruby you have a lot of baggage that needs to be handled, that's all we're asking for, we're just worried about you, and this whole day is probably the only downtime you've had in a damn month." He says, standing up.
"I DO NOT NEED THERAPY, I'M PERFECTLY FINE, BOTH MIND AND BODY!" She snarls.
"Well, until you go get some therapy, you're not going on any S-Class jobs." He says, and she glares at him.
"I hate you!" She screams, leaving the kitchen, and requipping her normal clothes, heading for the door.
"Like it or not, I'm your Guardian, your well-being is my priority, so hate me all you want, now where are you going to?" He asks.
"To vent!" She snarls, as her magic is practically crackling, heck the floor and walls are already starting to splinter, from the pressure of her Magic, and she leaves slamming the door, he sighs and falls back onto the chair.
"That… probably could've gone better, were Summer and Laxus such pivotal linchpins, in her mental health?" He wonders. The next morning, Everyone is at the Guild, except for Ruby, Makarov is introducing the Guild to Annabeth and Jellal, and informing them of what happened to Annabeth, and of Jellal's circumstances, when they hear the doors open they all look over and they're all surprised to see Mystogan, but even more to see an unconscious Ruby over his shoulder.
"Mystogan!?" Erza asks, surprised.
"Not putting anybody to sleep, this time?" Gray asks.
"More importantly, what happened to Ruby?!" Natsu yells, Mystogan walks, and sets Ruby on a cot behind the bar.
"Ruby's fine Natsu, well as fine as she can be, in whatever state of anger she was in last night, she's just exhausted and needs rest. Master, I'm guessing she's not taking your decision very well." Mystogan says, surprising Macao, Wakaba, Erza and Mirajane.
"I guess so, Macao?" Makarov asks, looking at Macao.
"She did not take it well at all, she was so mad she stormed off in the middle of the night, to vent her anger." Macao says, Makarov nods and Mystogan sighs.
"She definitely vented, half the eastern forest is gone." Mystogan says, surprising everyone.
"Why do you say it like that, Mystogan, every member of Fairy Tail causes some destruction." Natsu says, brushing it off as exaggeration, and Mystogan sighs.
"For anyone else in the Guild, I wouldn't really make a deal about it, but this is Ruby, she's not really known for causing destruction, she actually keeps damages to a minimum, like I do. But, I didn't say half the eastern forest was destroyed, I said it's gone, as in nothing left, no trees, no stumps, grass or paths, just a wasteland of dirt, a bunch of small craters, and one really massive crater." Mystogan says, shocking everyone.
(This sounds like, what Laxus told me, how she went ballistic when Lisanna died.) Makarov thinks, while Macao sighs.
"Geeze, what kind of decision could you have come to, for her to react like this, Master?" Gray asks, and Makarov sighs.
"I blacklisted her from taking any S-Class jobs, until she starts seeing a therapist, because, you all know, she's not handling Laxus's excommunication very well, plus there's… other baggage she needs to deal with." Makarov explains, shocking everyone. "Plus, now she has Little Annabeth here to think about, Ruby's the only person that could train her, unless her Aunt and Uncle were to take her in. By the way, Annabeth, do you know what element of Devil Slayer Magic you have?" He asks.
"The other night, when Princess Ruby's Friend, Miss Cinder, was i-instructing me on the basics, especially how to m-m-manifest my Markings, and actually use Magic altogether." Annabeth says, though struggling with pronouncing some of the words, she holds an arm and concentrates really hard, as the crimson, thorny-vine like markings appear circling down her right arm, and she opens her eyes, and the right pupil and iris are pink, but this time the white of her eye is green. "Miss Cinder said I have Poison Devil Slayer Magic." She says, releasing her concentration, and falling on her butt pooped. "It takes a lot out of me, sorry." She says, but Macao and Makarov laugh.
"There's nothing to be sorry about, most kids can't even unlock their Magic until they are 10 at the least, kids who are considered prodigies, like Ruby and my Grandson, or go through extreme hardship or life threatening situations, at most are able to unlock their magic by the age of 8 or even younger, it depends on their talent." Makarov explains.
"Yeah, and don't get down about not having a lot of Magic yet, just having access to your Magic at your age, is nothing short of astounding, I couldn't even access My Magic until I was 13." Macao says, and she smiles, Mystogan walks up to Makarov, and speaks to him about something, and his eyes widen.
"Are you sure about that, Mystogan?" Makarov asks.
"I am, I trust the Guild implicitly, even Laxus, and now that Jellal is exonerated, well, I'm under no threat." Mystogan says, and Makarov nods in understanding.
"Everyone, pay attention now, Mystogan has some things to say!" Makarov yells, getting everyone's attention.
"I know you all have many questions about me, and I can't promise, I will answer all of them, but there are things I can reveal, now that certain factors are out of play. I know many of you are probably wondering about a month ago, when Ruby stopped Laxus from destroying my cowl, saying it'd be bad if my face was seen, and at the time it would've been." Mystogan says.
"Why is that, Mystogan?" Mirajane asks, and he sighs.
"Wendy, Pyrrha, Laxus, Ruby, Porlyusica, and Master Makarov already know my face." Mystogan says, and grabs his bandanna and mask, pulling them off and everyone but the named people are shocked, seeing the exact resemblance of Jellal, down to even the face tattoo, around the right eye. "My name is… Jellal Faust, I look just like Jellal, because I am him in a way, you see I'm not from here, Earthland I mean, Earthland has a counterpart world called Edolas that is where I'm from, everyone on Earthland has a counterpart, one way or another in Edolas, just like me, I am Jellal's Edolas counterpart." The now revealed, Edolas Jellal explains, shocking everyone. "Don't ask, if I know the Edolas Counterpart of any of you, I haven't been to Edolas in 7 years, and I was stuck in the castle until I escaped." He says, mumbling the last bit, but both Wendy and Natsu hear it.
"Stuck in the castle, what were you royalty, like Ruby?" Natsu asks, no one realizes, Ruby's eyes flutter open, but they do notice a flicker of fear appear in his eyes, surprising everyone, and he sighs.
(Where am I, last thing I remember, I was in the middle of town last night?) Ruby thinks confused.
"Yes Natsu, I am royalty, I'm the youngest child of King Makarov Faust and Queen Ivy Thorn, and I have an Older Sister Crown Princess, Ruby Thorn." Edolas Jellal explains, shocking everyone beyond belief.
"Wait, so Ruby is your older sister, in Edolas?!" Pyrrha asks, surprised.
"And why would you leave your family?" Levy asks, not able to fathom, why anyone would leave their family, as an orphan herself, and Edo Jellal sighs, and his shoulders droop.
"Yes, Pyrrha my worlds version of Ruby is my older sister, and the reason I left, Levy is because my family are tyrants, they rule Edolas, with an iron fist, I was the black sheep, because I didn't want to kill everyone who opposed our family, like the Guilds." Edo Jellal explains, shocking everyone.
"What was your Ruby like, you seemed like you were afraid of her?" Wendy asks, and he sighs, but this time they can hear the tiredness in him, as he sits down.
"My parents love Edolas Ruby, she's they're perfect child, they're perfect Crown Princess… and they're perfect Monster." He says, shocking everyone, including Earthland Ruby, who is listening, and no one knows is awake, but she is starting to fade.
"Why would you call your own sister a monster!?" Elfman screams, only for Mira to calm him down.
"Elfman, this is Mystogan, well Edolas Jellal, he has to have a reason, we all know he's not the type of person to say something like that, without reason." Mira says.
"When I was still in Edolas, I escaped the castle twice, the second time is how I ended up in Earthland, but the first time I escaped the castle, is when I learned the truth about my parents, and what my sister, who I had always looked up to, was really like, a small rebellion was happening in the city. I watched as my sister, butchered every single person in the rebellion, little over a thousand people, there wasn't a person in that rebellion, who's corpse, was intact, body parts missing, organs gouged out, there were rivers of blood that day, the worst part wasn't that she killed them, it was how she did it." Edo Jellal, says, remembering that day all too clearly, and everyone can tell it was bad, from the absolute horror in his eyes.
"How did she kill them, kid, because your eyes say it was really bad?" Wakaba asks.
"She, she laughed the entire time, and not normal laughter, full blown insane cackling, I call her a monster, because that's what she is. It's the reason I've tried to look after Earthland Ruby, I didn't want her to end up like mine." Edo Jellal explains, it's at that moment, that Ruby completely fades out, sleeping again, a while later, Edo Jellal, has his cowl, back on, and is leaving the Guild, saying he's got something to do, and Pyrrha walks up to Makarov.
"Yes, Pyrrha?" Makarov asks.
"There's something I'm wondering about you blacklisting Ruby, but It's not something I can bring up around the rest of the Guild, or Ruby might kill me." Pyrrha says, he nods and waves her to his office.
"So what is your question?" He asks.
"The reasons, other than dealing with her feelings over Laxus being excommunicated, are those, the memories of her past life?" She asks, shocking him.
"How do you know about that!?" He asks, and Pyrrha smiles.
"I have the memories of my past life as well, Ruby and I both share the world and time period of our previous life, we even knew each other." She explains, surprising him.
"You knew each other, is there anything you'd be willing to tell me about Ruby, that might help?" He asks, and she sighs.
"Probably not, and there are several reasons, Ruby and I only knew each other, probably not even a year, before I died, and while I considered us friends, I doubt anything I knew of her would help with Ruby as she is." She says, making him sigh.
"Can, can you tell what she was like in your past life, was…" He says.
"Was she as cold, headstrong, and angry as this Ruby?" She asks, and he nods. "Not even close, as I told the Imp, who flew the Airship, on the way to the Worth Woodsea, the Ruby from our previous world, Remnant, was easily one of the nicest and kindest people you'd ever meet, she had more energy than I had ever seen in anyone, and she wore her heart on her sleeve." She says, shocking him, and she looks down, tearing up a bit. "This Ruby, is so cold and distant, full of anger, and she just seems tired with everything, I'm worried what happened to her after I died, but she made it very clear the past is the past, there's no reason to bring it up for any reason, and her death especially, in not something she'll talk about." She says, and he sighs, sadly.
"While I do not know the events that led up to her death, after yours, I do know how she died, and I can only surmise her previous life beat her down, more than badly, after you passed." Makarov says.
"You know how she died, can you tell me?" Pyrrha asks, and he sighs.
"I'm willing, but think it over for a minute; do you want to be burdened with the knowledge?" He asks, but he sees the resolve in her eyes, and sighs. "Ruby didn't die fighting or old and peacefully in her sleep, like you'd hope. She died at the age of 17, from a mix of Suicide Baiting, assisted Suicide, and straight up Suicide." He says, with every bit of seriousness, he can muster, and her eyes widen in horror.
"Oh dear lord, she killed herself, I can see why she wouldn't want to talk about her death, I never took Ruby as the type to take her own life, this or the old version." She says, horrified. (Things must've really gone bad, after I died.) She thinks, and sighs.
"And to be fair to Ruby, one of the only reasons you're seeing her angry so often, is because of the Excommunication of Laxus, and one other factor." He says.
"Is that factor, about her mother's soul being put in a Crystal Ball?" She asks, surprising him again.
"She seems to tell you a lot, but yes, she handed off the Crystal ball that had her mother's soul to Laxus, who had a unique bond with Summer, after his mother disappeared, Ruby let him take Summer with him, in hopes it'd help him back on the right path, but without either of them to be here for her, she's spiraling, trying to handle a lot of her problems on her own, it's why I want her to start seeing a therapist." He explains.
"I understand her mother, having a way to get Ruby to see reason, or face her problems, in a healthy way, but how does Laxus work into that, he doesn't seem like the most stable of people?" She asks, and he sighs.
"Laxus isn't a bad person, he cares deeply for the Guild, despite what his actions suggested, he just made a bad decision, and regretted it after seeing the Guild was strong in our way, and after fighting Ruby, who never beat him until that day. But yes, Laxus was one of the only people who could get Ruby to listen to them, even Macao and I can't get her to see reason, like Summer, Laxus and Gildarts, Gildarts is mostly because of respect. But there is a unique factor to why, Ruby and Laxus were the only ones who could get each other to see reason, for Laxus it was Ruby being the only person he had a bond and attachment with, she was his only friend. For Ruby it's much deeper, Laxus was her friend and mentor, but there's also the fact she had a crush on him, so him being gone, is really messing with the rhythm she's been used to for 6 years." He explains, she nods leaving the room, she come out to see a group around the bar, including Natsu, Happy, Erza, Jellal, Gray and Ur, who now has a half shoulder cape on her left shoulder, its ice blue, with gold trim, and the symbol of the Wizard Saints on it, Lucy, Levy, Elfman, Wendy and Carla, she walks down and joins them.
"What's everyone gathered around the bar for, and why'd you let my little sisters near it for?" Pyrrha asks, starting to exude a presence of no nonsense that impresses Erza.
"We're just talking about Ruby getting blacklisted from S-Class jobs." Erza says.
"Which I'm still against by the way, we all know how hard she worked, to become an S-Class, I still think she'd be open to hearing what we had to say about getting a therapist, if we didn't take away her ability to do the jobs she's comfortable doing, after all, Erza became an S-Class several years before Ruby, but the only people who have more S-Classes under their belt are Laxus and Gildarts, and that's if you don't count the S-Classes she did with Laxus, when he was mentoring her for last year's S-Class Trials, then only Gildarts has more S-Classes under his belt than her." Mira says, surprising Pyrrha.
"Wait does Ruby exclusively do S-Class Jobs, I thought the thing about her overworking herself was a recent problem?" Pyrrha asks, thankfully Natsu shakes his head.
"Honestly, Ruby, does exclusively do S-Class jobs, but before Laxus was excommunicated, she did take breaks, usually it'd only be a day or two, before she went on another job, but it was a break, though she would either rest, or train with Laxus or me, in between jobs. But yes, since Laxus was excommunicated, she does a job, finishes it, and gets another one immediately." Natsu explains, shocking her.
(This Ruby blows Blake and Weiss out of the water, when it comes to overworking themselves.) She thinks, then looks down sadly, which they all notice. (What happened to everyone after I died, because Master Makarov said she died only 2 years after I did?) She thinks.
"Why do you look sad? I would think someone trained by a war God wouldn't care about this type of thing?" Gray asks, and Pyrrha glares at him with so much heat, her eyes glow red for a split second, making Gray shamble back in fear.
"Big Sis, may have been raised by a God of War, doesn't mean she's not empathetic." Wendy growls, as her Magic has an impressive spike, for her age.
"It bothers me, Mister Fullbuster, because I'm of a rare group of people who have had their memories of their Past Life restored." Pyrrha says, icily. "And I happened to know Ruby in my Past life." She says, surprising them, except Natsu.
"You knew Ruby in your past life?!" Lucy asks, and Pyrrha nods.
"Yes, the only difference is her eyes and her personality, the Ruby from my past life had two silver eyes, instead of heterochromia, and the biggest difference being her personality, she was easily one of the nicest and kindest people you'd ever meet." Pyrrha says, shocking them, even Natsu. "It just worries me about what happened after I died, because I know people can have a different personality, without their past lives Memories, before I had my memories restored, I had anger problems, and zero discipline. But Ruby's is far too drastic of a change, from what my adopted Father Ares told me, through proper reincarnation souls will keep their most standout personality traits, for me that was my kindness and empathy, and for Ruby that should've been her kindness, but I haven't seen any trace of that kindness, short of when she was caring for Annabeth. I'm scared she might take her anger out on Annabeth, as a result of being blacklisted from S-Class jobs." She says, but Natsu snorts.
"That's one thing you don't have to worry about, she's more likely to take her anger out on us, than Annabeth, Wendy, Romeo or Anais, nor is she likely to point her anger at Happy or Carla." Natsu says.
"Natsu's right, Ruby never shows negative emotions to children or animals, we know she's been through a lot in her life, after-all she lost her Family and home village to the darkness that humanity can harbor, we all just wish she'd trust us and open up, about her problems." Erza says, and the rest of them nod.
"I don't know her as well as Gray, Natsu or Erza, but I can tell she's a good kid deep down." Ur says, none of them realize Ruby had woken up again, and had been listening, she silently scoffs at Erza, and closes her eyes, quickly falling back to sleep. A week later, everyone is sitting in the Guild, except for Ruby, Wendy and Annabeth, who are out in the forest, just a little ways from the city, Ruby is standing in the clearing watching over Wendy and Annabeth, who's now wearing a white hoodie, with red trim, black pants, and red and black sneakers, her hair is up in 2 tiny twin-tails, just like Wendy's hair. She has her Devil Slayer Marks activated, but you can't really tell, aside from the right pupil and iris being pink, and the white of her eye being green, Wendy is leaning against a tree, watching Ruby instruct Annabeth.
"Now remember what Cinder and I have explained, it's your Magic it will respond to your call, how easily depends on time, the longer you have the magic and use it, the easier and easier it'll become to use, and the more Ethernano your container can store. You already have your Devil Slayer Markings manifested, now try to manifest your magic into the most basic Slayer spell. The variation depends on the type of Slayer, Iron Fist for Dragon Slayers, like Wendy and Natsu, Elemental Fist, for God Slayers like Gray and Pyrrha, for Devil Slayers like you and I, that spell is the Curse Fist, now try it." Ruby says, Annabeth nods and holds her fists out in front and stare at them, and after a few minutes of concentrating, a thin haze of reddish pink mist stars to emanate around her fists, she smiles and squeals, happy, but then the mist fades, and she pouts.
"Sorry, Princess Ruby." Annabeth says, down about messing up, Ruby sighs, but smiles.
"it's fine Annabeth, at your age, keeping the concentration for manifesting your magic can be quite a pain, I was much the same as you when I was learning to use my magic." Ruby says, walking up and rubbing her head, then from the town they hear a bell ringing very loudly, and Ruby's eyes widen.
"Miss Ruby, why is there a bell ringing?" Wendy asks, and Ruby grabs them both by the arms, slings Annabeth on her back, and tucks Wendy at her side holding her by the waist.
"Hold on Annabeth." Ruby says, as all three of them glow bright pink, and shoot into the sky, towards the town, and through the bright pink glow, Wendy and Annabeth see the town splitting down the middle, and a figure walking through the split.
"Miss Ruby, what's happening?" Wendy asks, surprised, to see a shine of hope in her eyes.
"Gildarts is back, he's the strongest in the Guild." Ruby says.
"What, do you want to fight him, Princess Ruby, and prove you're the strongest?" Annabeth asks, and Ruby actually giggles.
"Nothing of the sort Annabeth, I doubt I'm even close to being able to beat Gildarts, as I am, I might make him try a little, but I will not beat him." Ruby says, shocking the two, since she generally judges herself harshly on her strength, so to admit with no problem, that she couldn't beat someone. (Maybe he could convince Makarov to get rid of this stupid blacklist.) She thinks.
(What type of monster is Gildarts Clive?) Wendy thinks, as they are closing in on the split, and they see Gildarts, Ruby for the first time in several months, Annabeth and Wendy for the first time ever. "What is with all of this, the town splitting?" She asks.
"It's called the Gildarts Shift, it happens when Gildarts is back, Gildarts is a master of Crash Magic, but the guys as scatterbrained as they come, and never pays attention where he's going and his Magic can act on its own, and destroys thing so he can walk through them, he's the main reason for our guilds, reputation of destruction, though, Natsu, the Armored Freak and Gray, certainly help that reputation, though Natsu has become much less liable to let his magic destroy things, especially now that he's becoming better at mixing his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and Crash Magic." Ruby explains, as they land right in front of him, getting his attention.
"Ruby, wow you… look a little taller, hey clue me in, I've been hearing that Laxus went mad and you had to defeat him, and who are the 2 kids?" Gildarts says, walking past them.
"The preteen, is Wendy Marvell, a Dragon Slayer, and one of the 4 newest additions to the Guild, while the kid is Annabeth, her father disappeared, and she's currently under my care, since she's a Devil Slayer." Ruby says, surprising him. "And the thing with Laxus, the whole country was laughing at the Guild, after what happened with Phantom, including taking in two of their members, though I have nothing to say about Juvia, she's… friendly enough, but Black Steel he destroyed the original Guild Hall and hurt Levy, Jet and Droy. Laxus was angry people weren't seeing our Guild as the strongest anymore, and tried to take over the Guild by force, and to be honest, I was compliant with it until he activated Thunder Palace and threatened the entirety of Magnolia, but yes it was me who beat him, he's been excommunicated." Ruby explains, and Gildarts sighs.
"How's Summer?" He asks, and Ruby trembles.
"I wouldn't know, when he was excommunicated, I gave moms Crystal Ball to him, he needs her guidance more than I do right now." She says, shocking Gildarts immensely, making him sigh.
"Well if anyone can whip that boy into shape, it's Summer." He says. "So when was the last job you went on, and how's Natsu doing?" He asks.
"Natsu's doing as well as he can, rarely let's Happy out of his sight." She says, making him sigh, sadly. "A week ago, Makarov actually blacklisted me from S-Classes, despite how hard I worked to become S-Class!" She growls, surprising him. "He's saying I can't go on any S-Class jobs again until I start getting some therapy, can you believe that, I mean come on, I'm perfectly fine, mind and body!" She snaps, making one of Gildarts brows rise. "The only thing keeping me from going mad is teaching Annabeth to use her Magic, and giving Wendy pointers on improving her fighting capabilities." She says, as her shoulders droop, and he sighs again.
"I'll talk to Master, but I'm not promising anything." He says, she sighs but nods, after a minute they get to the top of the steps and are at the doors of the Guild, that are open, and people are staring at him, smiling after a few minutes, of getting reacquainted with everyone, acquainted with the new faces, and caught up on everything that's happened since he last ran into Ruby, he's sitting at the bar. "I still can't believe it's you Mira…" He says, but sighs. "… I'm guessing Lisanna's death hit you pretty hard?" He whispers.
"Yeah, until recently, I couldn't even use my Satan Soul." Mira says, sadly.
"I'd imagine, going through what you did can leave a pretty nasty mark, and block a person's magic, you wouldn't be the first person I've seen go through that. So what's this I hear about Ruby, being blacklisted from S-Class Jobs?" He asks, and she looks down.
"Ruby wants you to talk to Master, doesn't she?" She asks.
"Well, she didn't explicitly ask me to, but she did hint at it, when she was complaining about it." Gildarts says.
"To be fair, Master Makarov talked to, Macao, Wakaba, Erza and myself, before coming to a decision, I was the only one opposed to blacklisting her from S-Class jobs completely, I voted for her to at least be limited to three of four a month, after all, at the end of the day, she did earn the right to take the jobs." She explains, and he nods.
"And wanting her to start getting therapy?" He asks.
"Well, she's hasn't taken Laxus being excommunicated very well, and with Laxus and her mother no-longer being here to, I guess help her dear with her problems in a healthy way, she's been spiraling, she's been much colder than usual and far more agitated, and that was already before she lost her ability to go on S-Class jobs. I swear Natsu, Happy, Wendy, Pyrrha and Little Annabeth, are the only reasons she hasn't lost it and gone on some type of rampage, worse than what Laxus did." She says, shocking him, but he sighs and gets up.
"Natsu, Ruby you 2 come by my house later, I want to talk to you about something, and I want to spar and see how much you 2 have progressed!" He yells, surprising many. "And Master, I'd like to talk to you privately." He says, and Makarov nods, waving him out back, where Gildarts follows him down a path.
"This is about Ruby being blacklisted, isn't it?" Makarov asks.
"Yeah, I talked to Mira, and I agree, with her, you shouldn't have completely blocked her from taking S-Class jobs, and at least limited her, like Mira suggested." Gildarts says, and Makarov nods.
"Even after I made the call, I thought Mira's would've been more acceptable, that was until a week ago when Mystogan brought an exhausted and unconscious Ruby into the Guild." Makarov says, and after about 15 minutes they make it to the Eastern Forest, and after another few minutes, Gildarts is flabbergasted to see a massive chunk of the forest is gone, and is just wasteland and craters.
"What the hell happened here!?" Gildarts yells, and Makarov sighs.
"Ruby happened, after she learned she was blacklisted from S-Class jobs, she was already in an bad mood, then she had to deal with the Magic Council and get Jellal exonerated, she was more annoyed, and livid, when one Annabeth's Fathers friends was found dead, and when she learned, that Macao was the one to suggest blacklisting her, she left the house and came out here, and went ballistic. This is why, I'm standing by Macao's suggestion, she needs to deal with her problems, the traumas of this life, and whatever trauma's that followed her from her past life, I did not make this decision lightly, I'm just worried for Ruby, I'm starting to realize what Summer meant when she said, Ruby's problems run much deeper than hers ever did, the day Ruby joined." Makarov says, and Gildarts nods in understanding.
"If she really did all of this in a fit of rage, I understand why Mira was worried, if Ruby went on a rampage, if she snapped." Gildarts says, later we see Natsu, Happy and Ruby walking up to a small cottage.
"Hey Gildarts, we're here!" Natsu yells, opening the door, and Gildarts is sitting in a chair. "So what'd you want to talk to us about?" He asks, and Gildarts sighs.
"Mostly wanted to talk to you Natsu, I'm sorry I wasn't here 2 years ago." Gildarts says, looking down.
"It's fine…" Natsu says, but is interrupted.
"It's not fine, Natsu, over the last 2 years I met an old Devil scribe, and have learned about Slayers. You lost your Mate, because I wasn't here, that's not something we can brush over, you're 18, and you've lost the only person you can spend your life with." Gildarts says, and it's easy to tell that, Gildarts blames himself. "But let's get to the reason I asked you to come here, on the way to the job I ran into a Dragon, but it was not a big red Dragon, but a black one." Gildarts says, surprising Natsu and Ruby snorts.
"It's definitely not Igneel, I meant to tell you earlier, Natsu, but I learned something from my Uncle, You, Wendy and Black Steel's Dragon Parent, are sealed in you." Ruby says, shocking you. "Maybe I could take you to Makai, and my Aunt or Uncle could let you talk to Igneel." She says, shocking him. "And Gildarts, what do you mean a Black Dragon, there's only one known Dragon that is black, where were you when you met this Dragon?" She asks.
"The Haunted Peak Mount Zonia." Gildarts says, and her eyes widen.
"Why the Hell would you go through there, that mountain is forbidden to any Mage, even the Four Gods of Ishgar!" She screams.
"What's so bad about this mountain?" Natsu asks, confused.
"It's because, its common knowledge, that the Mountain is the territory of the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse, Acnologia, that Dragon is a real monster, Gildarts you're lucky, you got away unscathed." She says.
"I didn't, I lost my left leg and arm, as well as some of my guts." Gildarts says, opening his cloak, showing the bandages hiding the scars and stitches of the attack, as well as the wooden prosthetic arm and leg. "Now, Ruby, like I said, I couldn't promise anything, but now after seeing what you did that night, you guys got back from dealing with Jellal, I can't help but agree with Macao and Master's Decision." He says, shocking Ruby.
"What do you mean you agree with them, and after seeing what I did?!" Ruby yells.
"Ruby, you completely destroyed part of the Eastern Forest, it's nothing but a wasteland and craters now, do you really think I'd stay on your side after throwing a tantrum like that." He says, and her eyes widen.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" She screams, confused, Gildarts is about to say something, but he and Natsu see genuine confusion in her eyes, he sighs and motions for the 3 to follow him out to the eastern forest, where they are both shocked by the complete devastation of the forest.
"It's really as Mystogan said, this part of the forest is completely gone, not a single tree is left, it really is just a wasteland." Natsu says. "You really don't remember this?" He asks, they look and see Ruby take a step back, with wide eyes.
"No, that night the last thing I remember is yelling at Macao, running out of the house and making it to the middle of town, and then nothing, next thing I know, I'm in the Guild on the Cot behind the bar." Ruby say's, starting to freak out, making the 3 concerned. "I need to see Porlyusica, it's not a good thing if a Devil Slayer starts experiencing random Blackouts." She says, starting to panic a bit. "Oh gods, Natsu, do you know if someone was hurt that night?!" She asks, panicking, only for Gildarts to chop her on the neck, knocking her unconscious, shocking Natsu and Happy.
"She was starting to panic about something, and you heard what she said, it isn't a good thing if a Devil Slayer starts, having random blackouts, only consolation, is as far as we know, she's only had one, but this one time was enough to make her start having a panic attack. Natsu, Happy go get Porlyusica, have her come to the Guild, I have a bad feeling about all of this." Gildarts says, picking her up, and Natsu nods, and he starts heading back to the Guild, thinking back to her starting to have the panic attack. (Her eyes were starting to turn red, not pink.) He thinks, after a while he makes it back to the Guild, surprising them.
"I guess she lost pretty badly?" Gray asks, but he shakes his head.
"Master, we have a problem." Gildarts says, setting her on a table. "I have Natsu getting Porlyusica." He says, shocking everyone.
"What's going on, Gildarts!?" Makarov asks, and Gildarts sighs.
"I've no clue, I took Ruby, Natsu and Happy to the eastern forest, because when I told her I'm siding with you, after she obliterated half the forest, she was genuinely confused." Gildarts says, surprising some, while some of them silently scoff at her playing innocent. "Macao, after she left your house, she said she made it to the middle, and after that nothing, next thing she knows, she's in the cot behind the bar. I knocked her out, because she started having a panic attack, saying she needed to see Porlyusica, and it isn't good if a Devil Slayer starts having random blackouts." He explains surprising them, and Annabeth runs up to her worried, after about 15 minutes, Happy and Porlyusica come through the door, Porlyusica has a bag with her, and she walks over to Ruby immediately.
"What happened, Natsu barged into my house freaking out, saying I needed to look at Ruby." Porlyusica says, and Gildarts sighs, explaining everything. "Without knowledge on Devil Slayer Magic, or Ruby to tell me what she wants me to check, I can't really be of help, we have to wait until she wakes up." She says, at that moment the door opens again, and Natsu runs in, helping Mystogan walk in as well, and he pulls his bandanna and mask off, breathing with difficulty, and he stumbles before falling over, Porlyusica is shocked seeing the 2 Jellal's.
"Edolas Jellal!?" Erza, Pyrrha and Wendy yell, running over to him, as Wendy immediately starts to heal him, but no one notices Porlyusica's eyes widen.
"Master I failed, there's an Anima that's formed over Magnolia, and it's too big for me to suppress by myself." Edo Jellal says, shocking Makarov.
"Anima you've said that word before, what is it?" Wendy asks, Edolas Jellal is about to answer when Natsu, Gray, Pyrrha, Wendy, Annabeth, Carla and Happy's visions are engulfed in gray, the seven push themselves up out of grayish-blue sand, Wendy and Pyrrha pull up the now unconscious Edolas Jellal.
"Where are we, what the heck happened to the Guild… and the town?!" Gray screams, when he sees Annabeth struggling to pull something out of the sand, he walks over and helps her, pulling up the unconscious Ruby.
"What the hell happened, someone wake Mystogan up, we need answers!" Natsu growls, but Carla sighs.
"The very thing I always feared happening has happened, though I'm surprised Devil and God Slayers stayed as well." Carla says.
"What happened, Carla?" Pyrrha asks, and Carla sighs again.
"The world of Edolas has come knocking." Carla says pointing up, and they all look up, and see the giant swirling vortex in the sky. "That is the Anima, a gate into the world of Edolas that sucks up any significant trace of Magic, for the Greed of the Royal Family. Because in Edolas Magic has become a limited resource, and trying to reverse the Magic Loss they connected Edolas to Earthland with the Anima's to take the Magic from here. It started 6 years ago, they opened numerous Anima, all around Earthland, but it wasn't producing the desired results, because Edolas Jellal was going around and suppressing them, but this one was far too big for him to suppress." She says, and Natsu snarls.
"Alright with all of that out in the open, how do we get there?!" Natsu growls, and Carla smirks.
"You'll need me and Happy, this is my home, I won't allow Edolas to ruin it." She says.
"Well there's a problem, there are only 4 of us here, not counting Ruby who's unconscious, and Annabeth who's 5, and only the 2 of you guys." Gray says.
"It's not so hard, Pyrrha and Natsu. Pyrrha and I refuse to put Wendy in this type of danger, since once we get there, we'll be unable to use our Magic, and Natsu because he's not going to let Happy out of his sight." She says, and they nod at that, Pyrrha requips the large, gold and white Blade, and sheathes it on her back.
"Natsu, do you have any experience with any type of weapon?" Pyrrha asks, but Natsu shakes his head, making her sigh.
"But I don't need a weapon, I may not be able to use my Magic once we get there, but I have another power, just pulsing to be let out, that doesn't need Magic, just hate, and right now, I have plenty of that." Natsu says, shocking them, except for Happy, but Carla nods, as she picks up Pyrrha and Happy picks up Natsu, and they fly up to the Anima.
"Alright Happy, release your magic, we need as much speed as possible to break through the traces of the Anima." Carla orders, and Happy nods, as everything starts to blur to Natsu and Pyrrha and within seconds their vision is taken over by gray again, when they can see again they're flying through a very different sky. All around them floating islands, weird flying creatures, odd looking trees, and even a waterfall going up and one going out like waves, out of nowhere Happy, Carla and Yang's Wings disappear, and they fall out of the sky, though they land on a surprisingly bouncy, pink bush, bouncing them onto the ground safely, and then they hear movement.
"Did some people fall from the sky?" They hear a voice, but the voice seems familiar to Pyrrha, as 2 women come through a bush they both look 25, Pyrrha's eyes widen, and there are 3 gasps of shock. The first woman has ass-length, bushy, blonde hair and Lilac eyes, she's wearing a sleeveless, form-fitting, light brown shirt, dark brown pants with a white, cloth fauld on the left hip, with a yellow flaming heart on it, black boots, and there's a red scarf around her neck that drapes down her back. The other woman, has long, black hair, up in a pony-tail, that reaches her mid-back, and amber eyes, she's wearing black crop top, that has an attached neck cloth, that covers her mouth, separated, shoulder-length black sleeves, that gradiates downward to purple, black booty shorts with a white belt, and black boots that reach all the way up to the shorts, on the left sleeve at the fore-arm is a black stylized flower.
(Yang, Blake!?) Pyrrha thinks, seeing the 2, now grown women staring at her with wide eyes.
