Chapter 5
"Dearly beloved..." the minister began,
The wedding had come up really quickly as the weeks had passed at a fast pace. The ceremony was short and sweet and all the guests watched as a couple kissed once the minister got the part that said you may kiss the bride.
The yard of the Rossi Estate were swarming with people, guests and caterers alike.
There were over 1500 guests as Dave knew a whole lot of people professional people, business people, friends and a whole host of others. Dave had even invited several people who were in the music business and owned recording studios. Lynnette knew some people to, though nowhere near as many as Dave did and that just added to the number of guests.
There was a DJ that had been hired and everybody was enjoying themselves dancing around the area that had been put aside for it.
"OK everybody, I have an announcement," the DJ said once the current song had ended. "The new Mrs. Rossi is going to sing a song she wrote for her new husband Mr. David Rossi."
Lynnette walked forward her guitar slung over her shoulder and got up on the stage that had been set up.
"Did you know about this?" Diana asked Spencer and Michelle who she happened to be standing beside at the moment.
"No," Spencer said shaking his head, "but it doesn't surprise me."
"Me either," Michelle agreed. "I knew Lynnette was being rather secretive about something, but I didn't know what. It makes sense though, because I know she loves my father with her whole heart and so of course she had to write a song about that. She is a singer and songwriter after all."
"You could've mentioned it," Spencer told Michelle.
"Why? Everybody deserves their secrets Spencer so long as they harm no one," Michelle said.
"Your fiancé is right son," Diana said her tone lightly scolding, but fell silent as her daughter's voice soared out over the audience. "I don't know what side of the family she gets her voice and talent from, but I don't remember any musicians on my side, so the talent probably comes from her father's side, though there's no way to know for sure."
Lynnette sang about love and first meetings.
"She's terrific," said a man who was standing near them "Dave's a lucky man."
"So is Lynnette," Spencer told the man. "My sister certainly has talent."
"She's your sister?" the man asked turning to face Spencer.
"Yes, she is I'm Spencer, Spencer Reid."
"Blake Yearwood. It's nice to meet you Mr. Reid."
"That's Dr. Reid," Spencer corrected automatically. "I know my sister is interested in continuing her music career after her honeymoon, but you'll have to talk to her about that."
"So where did she perform?" Yearwood asked clearly interested.
"In several high end clubs in Las Vegas where we were both born and raised," Spencer answered giving Yearwood the name of the clubs where his sister had performed for several years.
"I'll definitely be talking to her and her husband thank you for the information Dr. Reid," Yearwood said shaking Spencer's hand.
"You're welcome. I'll always look after my sister's best interest, even though she's married now," Spencer said.
Yearwood turned away and continued to listen to Lynnette's singing seeming enthralled.
The song was soon over and Lynnette hopped off the stage her guitar slung over her shoulder, which looks strange, considering Lynnette was wearing a wedding dress.
"That was wonderful," Dave said stepping forward and kissing her tenderly, "and quite the surprise."
"I love you," Lynnette told Dave simply but sincerely, "so I just had to write a song about it. That's what I do when I'm passionate about something. I'm definitely passionate about you."
"I love you too," Dave told her tenderly kissing her on the lips briefly. "It was one of the best days of my life when we got married hours ago."
"Mine to," Lynnette agreed smiling.
The two kissed tenderly for a minute and then separated looking very happy.

"Have a good time on your honeymoon and don't worry about us," Michelle told her father and his new wife.
"We will," Dave promised his daughter kissing her cheek and shaking Spencer's hand.
"We'll look forward to your wedding after we get back," Lynnette told them. "Oh thanks, for what you told Yearwood by the way. We're going to talk about me and my music when Dave and I get back from our honeymoon."
"You're welcome," Spencer said giving his sister a hug. "You go ahead, enjoy yourselves."
"Oh, we plan to, even if they won't tell me where we're going," Lynnette said grinning at Dave."
"Hey! I like to surprise you," Dave defended himself laughingly.
The two of them disappeared out of the front door still playfully arguing.
"I suspect I know where dad is taking Lynnette on their honeymoon for at least part of the trip," Michelle said. "I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin dad's surprise."
"Where do you think he's taking Lynnette?" Spencer asked curiously.
"Dad has this private island off the coast of Bimini," Michelle explained softly. "He goes there occasionally, just to relax and get away from everything."
"Wow! I've never known anyone who had their own private island," Spencer blinked in astonishment.
"It's a good place to get away from people who constantly bother him," Michelle said. "Of course, now that Lynnette is in his life well I'm sure they'll enjoy the island together."
"I'm sure they will," Spencer said, as he kissed Michelle tenderly. "Now that they're gone though we have the house to ourselves since mom had to go back home for a while and so did Rocky and Roxie. What do you suggest we do while everybody's gone."
"I have some ideas," Michelle grinned, even as she kissed Spencer again.
~~~Dave and Lynnette~~~
Private Island off the coast of Bimini
"This is fabulous Dave," Lynnette told her husband, as they woke up in the huge bed that Dave had on his private island. The house there was like a little palace and with a fountain just outside in the courtyard.
There was also a beach within a few steps of the house and they were totally alone no people at all other than them. There were fruit trees here with every exotic fruit you could imagine and an autochef with every type of food Lynnette could think of. It was apparent that the autochef had just been stocked recently. Dave had apparently thought of everything.
"So, you like my surprise then," Dave said grinning from where he lay on the huge bed, as naked as the day he was born as was Lynnette who was lying beside him.
"Yes, I do," Lynnette said, even as she kissed him passionately. "I can now see why you didn't tell me where we were going, so I could pack appropriate clothes, as I'm not going to really need clothes here unless we leave the island. This place is a dream come true; I had no idea you had your own private island."
"Really, this is the only place I can come to be by myself when I need to decompress," Dave said. "Most anywhere else people recognize me or at least my name and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, that reorganization can be annoying, because some people don't know how to respect your privacy, especially women who are desperate to marry a rich husband, so they can live in the lap of luxury and not have to exert themselves. Women who just want to laze around or shop for useless things that they'll just toss at some point instead of working for a living. I could never have married someone like that, even if I wasn't immortal and just a normal man.
"You, on the other hand, are different, as you have a more than decent worth ethic and a career of your own. In your case, though even if you didn't have a career, I still would've married you, because we are mates after all, but what I'm getting at, is you're nothing like those women that just want to marry a rich husband, so they can sit on their butts and do nothing with their lives or, because they've have been pushed into it by their parents who want their daughters to marry someone like me. Someone with plenty of money who could give their daughters a good life."
"I understand," Lynnette said understanding the point that Dave was trying to make.
"This island also provides a change of scene, as the house I had built years ago is the only other place really I can be myself. Of course, with you in my life, it's different, but you're the only person I want to be with sometimes.
"I never would've brought any of those other women I dated here, because then they would've known about my private island and I wouldn't have put it past some of them to come and bother me if they happened to learn I was here for a few days or to use the island, as a private place to party, even while I wasn't here. There are some women I've dated in the past that wouldn't necessarily have cared that it belonged to me and that it was privately owned."
"I kind of know what you mean," Lynnette said. "I'm becoming more popular all the time and people approach me when they recognize me wanting my autograph. If I go through with my current plan I'll soon be recognizable wherever I go in the not too distant future.
"By the way, don't you have cameras up around here just in case that were to happen? You could always keep them deactivated if it was you on the island but leave them activated for when no one is here in case you have an uninvited visitor."
"No, I never needed to," Dave said, "but it might be a good idea. Maybe not cameras but security here on the house I had built and motion sensors on the beach. Still, the best defense is not to mention it to anyone you don't want here and ask that those people you do allow here not to mention it either.
"It isn't too likely that people are just going to stumble onto this island, since it is out in the middle of the ocean, but I suppose there could be a shipwreck near here and this might be the closest land."
"As to people recognizing me, as we were discussing a minute ago before we got sidetracked, at the least the restaurants won't allow people to bother us and will escort them out of the restaurant if they do," Dave said changing the subject back to what he and Lynnette had been discussing before, they had gotten off on a tangent. "I know I chose this life as I could've stayed in the background and some people might've heard of me, but they wouldn't constantly approach me for some kind of business deal or just to talk to me for various reasons. Some women also like to flirt with me and don't know when to back off. Some of those women will likely be so desperate they'll still try to flirt with me, even though I'm now married."
"I know very well people can be rude. A lot of women have no ethics or morals, so that means they can go after someone else's man because of that lack," Lynnette agreed, even as she kissed him. "I'm actually surprised that no one tried to infiltrate our wedding."
"I have the best security on today's market and not many people have the know how to get past it. If someone had tried to climb over the wall surrounding our home, like a reporter for instance, they would've been shocked to discover that an alarm sounded. The alarm company would've called the police to escort them off the grounds, which would lead to at least a large fine if not jail time depending."
"So do you have any other plans for our honeymoon or are we going to stay here for a month. I wouldn't mind that by the way, as it's lovely," Lynnette said. "Our own little playground."
Lynnette sighed happily.
"I thought we could explore some of Bimini, do some shopping," Dave said.
"I'm always ready to shop," Lynnette said grinning. "Ever since I made a success of myself I have money to burn, though I'm not as wealthy as you are of course."
"I've had centuries to gain my wealth though," Dave said. "I started out with very little money and I learned how to invest. I bought my first business in the 12th century. Things were much cheaper back then."
"I would say so," Lynnette said smiling. "Anything you bought would've been pennies compared to today. With inflation being what it is... I should've been able to invest too if not for those three men I told you about."
"Let's not talk about that as it still makes me furious," Dave said with anger in his tone. "You wouldn't have been able to invest yourself since the laws were different back then and women didn't have many rights, but I would've been happy to invest for you and just keep it under my name until the laws were changed. I would never try to keep your money for myself unlike many men would their wives."
"Anyway, back to the fact that you were murdered. Well, let's just say, I accepted a long time ago that there was nothing I could do to save your life back then, but that doesn't mean I don't wish I couldn't wreck vengeance on those that decided to end it. I mean seriously had you really wanted to curse the town you would've done so long before that day, as you had been living amongst them for years."
"True that," Lynnette acknowledged solemnly. "I have most of my memories back now and you're right, they were the idiots of the town, as it would've made more sense just to run me off so I had to go elsewhere. I mean they're lucky they didn't set any of the other buildings on fire, the ones closest to my little cottage. They were lucky that the people of the town likely responded and put out the fire before it could spread to the rest of the town."
"True, though your cottage was somewhat isolated, but still the fire could've easily spread if it hadn't been put out so soon. I remember helping to put out the flames, even though I knew you were gone. Believe me when I say I felt a dark rage at what had happened, but the men had long since vanished by the time I arrived once their evil deed was done.
"If you remember, there were woods that were fairly close to your cottage and it wouldn't have taken anything for a spark to jump across the short distance and hit something.
Something like a spark could easily be carried by the wind and hit the roof of one of the other houses or the wooden fences that kept the livestock contained. There were several burnable roofs of cottages or woodsheds not far from your cottage. The fire soon would have spread to those woods I mentioned with no trouble. It wouldn't have taken long at all before the whole village was unsavable and everybody who lived there would have lost their homes just because of those three idiots."
"Which is why what those three men did was stupid, as most things were made out of wood in that village, that or stone. While my cottage was stone, the roof was certainly burnable and also the rafters that supported it. The house was built along a wooden frame, which supported the roof and would have burned as well, which would have caused the rest of the structure to collapse."
"That's exactly what happened to," Dave said. "Luckily, the alarm was raised before the fire could spread to any other structures so the damage was contained to just your cottage. I even participated in the fire brigade as I have already stated, even though I was just a stranger in the village I was hoping you would be OK, but of course, you weren't."
"Those three men certainly planned their little escapade well," Lynnette said with a sneer. "They did it while most men were in the pub drinking or at least at home having dinner if they were married."
"Us leaving would've likely happened anyway, in a few more weeks, as I was going to try to get you to leave with me, go to a bigger town, one with more people. We could've blended in and the townsfolk never would have known we were different. We could've claimed we had married and just hadn't had any children yet, but unfortunately, that didn't happen."
"I knew that as Letty, I wasn't well liked by the village folks, but I never imagined I would be murdered in my own home," Lynnette said. "I kept to myself on purpose, though I did have to go into town some to the community well or the market if nothing else."
"I've often wished over the last few centuries that I could go back in time and convince you to leave with me before you could be murdered but unfortunately, that's not possible, since time travel doesn't exist, except in books and movies," Dave said.
"No, it doesn't," Lynnette said. "Let's not dwell on what happened so many centuries ago. We are together now never to be parted again."
"I'll make sure of it," Dave promised his tone fierce and protective and Lynnette responded by tenderly kissing him deeply.
Lynnette happily melted into her mate's kiss and the two of them smooched for quite a while.
