Coming Up Next: The teams reach the top of the Tokyo Skytree (well, as high as it's been built so far) to confront Helga and Myrna as they unleash their secret weapon, hoping to stall the spies until they can activate their hypnotic frequencies to brainwash not just Tokyo, but the entirety of Japan into a nanny-filled 'paradise'. Can the spies put these baddies in their place before that happens?
Act 3: Two For the Price of One
6:18 P.M – Sumida City, Tokyo
Tokyo Skytree – Current Highest Point
"Whoa, look at how high up we are," Alex gasped once everyone had made it to the highest point of the Tokyo Skytree. Construction obviously wasn't finished yet, but the spies were still pretty high in the air, even higher than the Skywhirl Tower.
"Man, this place easily puts the Skywhirl Tower to shame at least five times over," April admitted.
"Any sign of those nut loafs?" Mat wondered.
Just then, a rain of sharp feathers came rushing down from above, forcing Sam to deploy an All Weather Umbrella to defend everyone from it.
"Like bad rashes, they come when called," Sam quipped.
"You're comparing us to rashes, my dear?" Myrna laughed. "You've got some nerve."
"Yeah, well, so do you for, you know, ever thinking we need nannies at our age!" Clover exclaimed. "That whole shtick's getting incredibly old and stale at this point!"
"Well, honestly, it doesn't matter what you think right now, because once we activate our trump card, everybody in this country will fall under the nanny spell," Helga cackled.
"We just need something to deal with you until that time comes," Myrna proclaimed. "So, to that end... why don't you play with a friend of ours?"
Mechanical whirring resounded as something stirred to life behind the structure just ahead. A large machine floated out from there, and this machine resembled an indigo-colored tortoise with a large cyan-colored hexagonal shell, each of its legs having a cyan four-pointed star on its 'hands', a diamond-like pattern on its forehead and a 'ponytail' made up of three segments of diamond-like shapes. Connected to the top of its shell by another diamond-shaped piece was a giant, indigo-colored crystal dome covered in layers of overlapping hexagons.
"And what the heck is that?!" Haruka gasped.
"Oh, that's our secret weapon, the Stellar Satellite," Myrna proclaimed. "And considering that our transmitter is connected to it, the only way you're shutting down our signal is to destroy the Stellar Satellite."
"But here's the real question, spies," Helga cackled. "Can you destroy it before time runs out?!"
The Stellar Satellite floated higher into the air and started spinning the hexagons on its dome around.
"Hey, we've worked pretty well under pressure before," Nick taunted as he took off into the air, the rest of the spies following suit.
"How much time do we have before the transmitter activates, RiCO?" Sam wondered.
"About twenty minutes, according to my scans," RiCO answered. "And the transmission program is tied to that machine, so it won't stop unless that thing goes down."
"Then I guess we're just gonna have to scrap your crystal turtle, then!" Melissa exclaimed.
"You all stay down there and see if you can keep Myrna and Helga busy for us!" May shouted to the Jellyfish Pirates.
"Roger that, May!" Mira proclaimed as she led the Jellyfish Pirates to confront Myrna and Helga, leaving the spies free to engage with the Stellar Satellite.
With that, the spies turned their attention to the Stellar Satellite. Nick fired several psychic shots, but the satellite appeared to sense his shots and moved out of the way each time.
"So, that's how they want to play it, eh?" Nick smugly stated.
"We'll have to get creative then," Bridget remarked.
The Stellar Satellite was also equipped with some ammo to shoot back at the spies, starting with hexagon-shaped crystals like the ones adorning its shell.
"Oh, jeez!" Haruka gasped as she weaved around to avoid the ammo.
Nick reached out to telekinetically catch some of the crystal hexagons.
"Here, take it back!" Nick shouted before throwing the crystal hexagons back at the Stellar Satellite. It tried to move, but some of the hexagons did connect and cause damage.
"They came prepared, that's for sure," Mat bluntly stated.
"But it's nothing we can't overcome," Haruka proclaimed.
"You thinking what I'm thinking, Haruka?" Bridget quipped.
"Uh-huh," Haruka replied with a nod.
"You could use a third for that team-up," Nick stated.
"Not going to say no," Haruka quipped.
The Stellar Satellite's dome began to spin around rapidly before firing lasers from it, and this caused a volley of laser shots in all directions.
"Oh, now you're just being a jerk!" Bridget exclaimed.
"Get close to me," Nick stated, and Haruka and Bridget did so as Nick surrounded them all with a psychic bubble to block the laser shots before charging forward towards the Stellar Satellite.
"Special delivery, turtle boy!" Nick shouted as he slammed the bubble into the Stellar Satellite, the bubble exploding outwards and damaging the Stellar Satellite enough to stop the dome from firing. "All right, go for it!"
"With pleasure!" Haruka laughed as she and Bridget flew forward, Haruka blasting the machine with a Mass Inverter to flip it over and reveal its underbelly so that Bridget could punch it with a Metal Masher Boxing Glove.
This blow caused the Stellar Satellite to spin backwards.
"That did a lot!" Sam exclaimed.
"One thing's for sure, Ollie's got nothing on this contraption!" Alex commented.
When one of the shots came out, it came for Alex herself, but she was ready.
"Alex, I wouldn't touch the bullet if I were you..." Clover replied with a cringe.
"I'm prepared, Clover," Alex quipped.
Sporting two Electrical Evening Glove Magnets, Alex was able to catch that bullet in her hands and throw it back without any serious injury. The bullet went directly into one of its cannons, and that cannon discombobulated.
"What's trying one former trick again?" Sam quipped, remembering Alex did the same thing with Chet at Beverly Hills High.
"Maybe I can get one to go in there, then," Nick remarked as he waited for the Stellar Satellite to fire something at him.
And sure enough, it did, firing what looked like a large cannon shell at him, but Nick raised his hands to telekinetically catch the cannonball in his hands and chuck it back into the Stellar Satellite's shell.
"It's definitely working!" Nozomi exclaimed.
While this was happening, the Jellyfish Pirates had split up to handle both Myrna Beesbottom and Helga Von Guggen with what they had.
"How you guys holding up?" April asked Dizzy and the others handling Myrna.
"Her shuriken are driving me crazy!" Dizzy exclaimed.
"For an old lady, she can mo-o-ve!" Souji chastised.
"But so can we, remember?" Mira proclaimed. "Fena, let's try plan Z!"
"Oh, you know it," Fena chuckled as she and Mira got into position.
Myrna tried to stop them with another round of shuriken, but Mira and Fena both juked to the side before charging forward.
Fena surprised everyone by spinning around enough to whip her long hair out (glad she'd let it grow back) and smack Myrna and Helga across the face a few times.
"Is... is she hair-whipping them?" Haruka laughed.
"Ah, a Fena classic," May giggled.
After a few more hits, Fena ducked down and leg sweeped Helga off of her feet so that Mira could charge forward and shoulder-tackle Myrna into a nearby wall.
"You little brats are surprising nimble, aren't you?" Myrna taunted.
"We may not be Bridget levels of fast, but we get by," Yuki quipped.
"We can also hit hard," Jam proclaimed. "Just like this!"
Myrna attempted to roll forward and bowl Jam over, but Jam effortlessly jumped over the attack before then running back towards Myrna and kicking her in the back shoulder.
Much to their surprise, though, Myrna lost her balance because of this and went tumbling forward and right off of the tower.
Nick moved swiftly, flying down to catch Myrna in his telekinetic hold before quickly bringing her back to safe ground and then imprisoning her inside of a psychic bubble.
"That's about the only mercy I can expect from you, right?" Myrna groaned.
"Oh, don't have a hissy fit," Nick taunted as he flew back to the spies to rejoin the battle with the Stellar Satellite.
"Man, for a bulky turtle thing, it moves fast," Bridget quipped. "Sadly, it's taking advantage of Sonic Mode's one real weakness: I can't use it in the air."
"Then we'll just have to take it down the old-fashioned way," Blaine responded as he aimed the Boomerang Bazooka towards the Stellar Satellite. "With a good ol' beatdown!"
The Stellar Satellite started firing more crystal hexagons towards the spies, but Blaine started firing the Boomerang Bazooka, each shot knocking a hexagon away and opening some room for the spies to work.
The Stellar Satellite's dome began to spin around again, this time firing much larger lasers from each of its ports, forming a sort of laser pinwheel.
"Okay, first, I think we need to limit this thing's options!" Sam proclaimed.
"Especially considering we're running out of time!" Mat exclaimed. "We've only got about six minutes to wreck this thing before it mesmerizes this whole country!"
"Maybe we just need to apply something called the almighty anchor?" May proclaimed as she summoned her anchor to her hands via her Emergency Gadget Transporter and flew to just above the Stellar Satellite's dome.
After a couple rotations to wind up, May threw her anchor downwards like a javelin toss straight into the Stellar Satellite's dome, crushing quite a few of its weapon ports and disabling the laser pinwheel. May recalled her anchor and struck again, this time going for a point-blank home-run swing that smashed the dome clean off of the machine and sent it crashing to the floor at the tower's top.
"Oh, yeah, that definitely helped," Bridget quipped.
"Hey, you almost crushed me with that thing!" Helga shouted as she continued to fend off the Jellyfish Pirates, though she was doing a bad job of it with eight of them against her with only one opponent to focus on.
"Get over yourself, you bat!" Nozomi shot back as she rushed the Stellar Satellite with a Platinum Credit Card and slashed twice to destroy the last remaining cannon ports and leave the machine pretty much defenseless.
"All right, that should be enough damage," Haruka proclaimed. "Who's gonna do the honors and finish it off?"
"I think I'll take that one," Nick quipped. "We've gotta give the poor Vortex Blaster a break sometimes, after all."
"Good point," Sortiliena giggled.
Nick flew back a short distance while Melissa and Dawn both fired Electromagnetic Curling Irons at the Stellar Satellite to make it lock up, just to be on the safe side.
Nick spread both of his hands outwards, his left hand surrounded by a glowing yellow sphere of light and his right hand surrounded by a glowing green sphere of light.
After a couple seconds of preparation, Nick slammed his hands together, the two glows combining to form a large sphere of silver light around his palms.
Down on the tower, the Jellyfish Pirates had just restrained Helga after yanking her outfit off of her, by way of Akira and Souji actually sitting on her back to keep her from getting away.
"G-Get off of me, you little brats!" Helga shouted.
"Um... how about no?" Akira taunted. "Just sit there and watch Nick destroy your machine, 'kay?"
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Akira!" Nick exclaimed as he wrenched his hands apart, a trail of silver light connecting his palms, before clapping them back together to unleash his gathered energy in the form of a large wave of silver light that crashed into the Stellar Satellite and exploded outwards in a brilliant flash of light, utterly eviscerating the machine.
Alex flew underneath the remains of the Stellar Satellite and fired a Mass Inverter to keep its debris floating in the air long enough for Nick to capture it inside of a psychic bubble, fly down to ground level, and deposit it safely before flying back up to the tower.
"I said get off of me!" Helga shouted.
"...okay," Souji chuckled as he and Akira retreated.
Before Helga could question what that was about, Nick had already imprisoned her in a psychic bubble.
"Shouldn't have looked a gift horse in the mouth, you know," Nick taunted. "A lesson for next time."
"And there we go, the countdown just stopped, and I've wiped that transmission program right out of there!" RiCO proclaimed.
"Good, that means we're done here," Mira sighed. "Because that was one heck of an ordeal."
"And look at that, Jerry's here right on schedule," Sam chuckled as she noticed two W.O.O.H.P. helicopters approaching them, one to take the spies back home and another to get the Jellyfish Pirates back to Tachikawa.
"He usually is," Haruka quipped.
"Let's head home, then, shall we?" May stated.
"We'll see you guys around, then!" April proclaimed. "Hopefully next time it'll be without baddies to stomp."
"We can only hope," Nick answered as the two choppers flew away to take their respective groups back.
9:34 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
Jerry's Office
"Marvelous performance as always, spies," Jerry proclaimed once the post-mission briefing had been finished. "Sam, Alex, Clover, we'll be arranging a transport for your mothers to head back to Europe soon."
"I'm kinda surprised they didn't go back right away once we were finished," Clover quipped.
"Oh, they had something they wanted to say to Myrna and Helga," Sortiliena giggled.
Just then, a loud trio of voices could be heard, almost sounding like they were lecturing the two villains.
"They did say they wanted to give the baddies a piece of their minds when we were finished," Sam chuckled.
"I say let mom ream those two a new one," Alex laughed. "It's more fun that way."
"And while they're doing that, I'll send you all back home," RiCO stated as she waved her hand to send the spies back to the beach house.
11:08 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House
After the mission was all finished, and some time had passed, the spies were all getting some fun in as the summertime had hit the halfway point more or less. While Mat occupied the TV again for the 2010 Red Bud Motocross – round 6 of the series – Sam, Nick, May, Melissa, and Alex were keeping Mat company. Mat was encouraged during the 450cc broadcast despite Suzuki's Ryan Dungey #5 had swept the motos and extended his points lead, but Chad Reed on his #1 Monster Energy Kawasaki had an encouraging 2-2 performance for 2nd place overall; the 250cc broadcast was just beginning with Jason Weigandt calling the race along with multi-time Motocross champ Jeff Emig, and Erin Bates as the pit reporter.
"That was a good ride by Chad Reed," Mat remarked. "Not the way I wanted it, but maybe he's found himself again."
"For your sake, I hope so," Melissa replied to Mat.
"What about what happened to Ben Townley though in the first moto?" May groaned.
What happened was on the final lap of the first 450cc moto, Troy Lee Honda's Townley #101 was leading the way until he crashed in a tight section and finished 3rd.
"Oof, so close," Nick quipped.
"It always is," Melissa answered.
As for Bridget and Dawn, they were already outside in two-pieces again for the next car wash battle.
"I hope you're ready, Bridget," Dawn giggled. "I won't go easy on you..."
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Bridget retorted with some giggles of her own.
After getting things set, Dawn drew first blood before Bridget could even ask if she was ready, by way of spraying the hose upwards to distract Bridget then yanking it downwards to get her.
"H-H-Hey, that was cheating!" Bridget sputtered.
"You never said I couldn't, right?" Dawn laughed.
"...all right-y, then," Bridget cackled as she did a forwards roll to make Dawn jump so she could grab the hose and start spinning around while spraying it, leaving Dawn nowhere to escape.
Meanwhile, inside the house, the first moto highlights had just concluded with Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel #377 easily winning, and Trey Canard on the #38 Factory Connection Honda was moving up through the field. The first moto results had Pro Circuit going 1-2-3 with Pourcel, Tyla Rattray #28, and Dean Wilson #108 in that order. Canard finished behind them all in 4th.
There was currently a pit report from Erin Bates about FC Honda's Blake Wharton #21.
Erin: It just made sense for the #21 of Blake Wharton to ask a 2-time World Champion Sebastien Tortelli for a little guidance and a little advice. They worked together back in the amateur days, and Sebastien had said Blake has got the speed, he's got the fitness, but what he's lacking is consistency. He's here this weekend for the very first time helping him out... gonna give him a little guidance and some line choices and also tell him where he can conserve a little bit of energy. They're gonna go back, they're gonna evaluate what happened today, and if all goes well, they'll bring him back on board once again. But we'll see if 20 years of racing experience is going to help Blake Wharton's overall results today.
Jason: Ah, the Frenchman, Sebastien Tortelli... one of the fastest guys ever in this game...
"Not a bad guy to have in your corner," Mat replied. "Tortelli won this race in 2000, after all."
"That far back?" May wondered. "You really HAVE followed the series closely, Mat..."
Nozomi had come downstairs in her bikini having ended a Smash game with some of the others; simultaneously, the second 250cc moto from Red Bud started with Max Anstie on the #48 DNA Shred Stix Yamaha getting the early lead, but he was immediately overtaken by Pro Circuit's Wilson.
"You and me for the next car wash battle, Nozomi," Nick immediately stated.
That couldn't have made Nozomi any happier to hear that.
In the meantime, Mat was a bit discouraged to see moto 1 winner Pourcel listed in 7th place.
"You better make sure that happens before this summer's over," Nozomi told Nick.
"Hey, you know I never break a promise," Nick chuckled.
In the meantime, FC Honda teammates Trey Canard and Justin Barcia #17 were battling for 4th place.
Jason: WHEEL TO WHEEL! WHOO-HOO-HOO! They don't care! Teammates or not, and Barcia gets him back!
Jeff: Did you see that? Canard... actually his clutch lever got knocked down – the whole clutch perch! He came off of the Alessi Falls there and actually had to knock it up while he was in the air to get back in position!
"Alessi Falls?" May asked.
"Oh, that bad crash Mike Alessi had on that hill in 2008," Mat replied.
In the meantime, the man on the move was Honda's Canard, who was trying to out-leap Pro Circuit's Rattray #28; however, Rattray was able to get Canard back.
Jeff: Canard is on the gas! The Honda guys... not happy, and they know that Pourcel is not in the lead! They know that he's behind, and that has to fuel their fire to get up there! Once a guy kinda checks out and starts to think he's dominating, it really demoralizes you...
"No question about it," Mat commented.
It was also reported that Pourcel had turned the fastest lap of the second moto with only over 20 minutes to go.
Meanwhile, the car wash was going about as well as expected.
"Hehe, nice try!" Dawn laughed as she ducked down to avoid another spray from Bridget, even crawling underneath the car to avoid it...
...only to be met with Bridget grinning down at her from the other side, hose at the ready.
"You were saying?" Bridget chuckled as Dawn quickly backed up to avoid getting blasted in the face. However, when Dawn got back up, Bridget was already back there to spray Dawn in the back.
"Curse your overwhelming speed!" Dawn proclaimed over-dramatically.
Back inside, Haruka had come downstairs as well to see the racing going on, and she decided to join in and sit with Nick.
"Looks like a good one, huh?" Haruka quipped as she leaned closer to Nick.
"These ones typically are," Nick responded as he draped his arm around Haruka's shoulders to pull her closer.
With over five minutes remaining, Canard had made the move on Wilson for the lead, but Wilson somehow found a way back around him using some lapped riders until...
"OH! HE BANGED HIM!" Mat exclaimed.
Canard, who had made the move on Rattray for 2nd, had banged into Dean Wilson and sent Wilson off the track before LaRocco's Leap.
Jeff: WILSON HAS TO GET BACK ON IN A SAFE SPOT, AND HE CANNOT GAIN A POSITION! HE MISSES THE WHOLE LAROCCO'S LEAP AND GETS BACK INTO SECOND PLACE! OH, HE'S GONNA BE TICKED NOW!
"More like he's gonna start raging, methinks," Haruka quipped. "I had that happen to me in a Mario Kart game."
"If I recall correctly, that was the first time you ever dropped a swear word," May laughed.
"That's what Mario Kart can do to people," Nick chuckled.
"Great job by Wilson to stay upright, too," Mat sighed.
"Likewise," Haruka quipped in agreement.
That was when Wilson came under fire from his teammate Rattray for 2nd place. A pass and a 2nd place finish for Rattray would give him the overall win – his second of the 2010 season. However, with under 40 seconds and 2 laps to go...
Jason: Look at Wharton on the... sorry, Barcia on the 17 and Wharton on the 21... WHOA! RATTRAY THROWS IT AWAY!
Rattray had gone over the bars and crashed hard into the adjacent deep rut!
"Oh no, as soon as he got that kick, I saw this coming..." Mat sighed.
Jeff: Agony of defeat right there! The rear shock... he came in there, and he came in so hard as he was trying to make the pass on Wilson!
A replay of the crash came up.
"That's gotta hurt," Melissa admitted.
"Yeah, when you just know that any chance of winning just got flushed down the metaphorical drain," Britney quipped.
Jeff: The picture says it all.
Jason: End over end...
Simultaneously, Bridget and Dawn came in done with their car wash battle. With Rattray out of the equation for the overall, it appeared that your winner for the day in the 250 class would be Trey Canard, but Wilson was still coming under fire from Barcia for 2nd place.
"Did anybody pick Canard to win this race today?" Mat asked.
"I think I did," May answered. "Figured I'd try something different this time."
Jason: Okay, once you win your first, the rest come a lot easier. Trey Canard, on July 4, fights his way through the French, the South African, the Europeans... and is going to end up THE OVERALL WINNER HERE AT RED BUD! Second is going to go to Wilson, just edging Barcia across the line...
Canard was elated as that was his first ever moto and overall win of his career in the 250 class. The final results of moto 2 had Blake Wharton finishing 4th and Christophe Pourcel finishing in 5th and giving away another overall win. The overall had Wilson in 2nd with his 3-2, and Pourcel in 3rd with his 1-5. Tyla Rattray, who had that bad crash in the second moto, was credited with an 11th place finish – 6th overall.
The points standings still had Pourcel in the lead with 260, 33 points ahead of Wilson, and 48 over Rattray; Canard's win put him 55 points behind in 4th.
"So, anybody lose?" Mat wondered.
"You know, I think we didn't actually have a chance to make bets this time," Dawn replied. "We were all too busy having fun watching the race, or in my case, getting sprayed to heck and back. Sometimes, it gets me that she's so fast even without Sonic Mode."
"Hey, that's what years of being on the track team will do for you," Bridget giggled.
"Well, we were gonna go in the pool after this anyways, right?" Alex quipped. "Why waste a good thing going?"
"Now you're talking my language, Alex," Clover proclaimed as she quickly changed into her swimsuit and jumped into the pool, the rest of the spies quickly following suit.
4:21 P.M. – Dearly Beloved Memorial Hospital
Three Months Ago
"I kinda wish you could come every day, honestly," Sarina admitted after her and Nick's latest gaming session. Thank goodness for a console that was technically also a portable system, huh?
"I know, I really do," Nick sighed. "But I sadly can't skip school just to visit you all the time. Mom and dad would probably ream me one for it."
"They just do it because they care about you," Sarina chuckled. "And honestly, I have a lot of fun when you do come to visit. It's always enough to keep me in high spirits until your next visit."
"I guess it's a good thing I had that effect on you, huh?" Nick quipped. "Well, I should probably head out now. Mom's calling me, and she's making bacon dumplings tonight."
"Ooh, make sure you save some for me, got it?" Sarina laughed. "From the way you talk about it, they sound like they're the best in the world."
"I have yet to have bacon dumplings better than the ones my mom makes," Nick proclaimed. "I'll see you tomorrow, then, okay?"
But before Nick could hop off the bed and join his mom just outside, Sarina stopped him, gently pulling him by the shoulder.
Nick was about to question what Sarina wanted to ask him, only to be completely caught off guard when Sarina leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.
"See you tomorrow," Sarina giggled, a blush dusting her cheeks.
And as Nick headed home for the night, the memory of that kiss would remain on his mind, along with all the other thoughts about Sarina's situation.
Did that mean... did that mean she liked him? Like, "like-like"?
They hadn't even known each other for too long, though Nick figured that Sarina was probably the type to get attached quickly, especially considering her condition and the nagging fears that her time was limited.
Regardless, it definitely gave Nick a lot to think about.
Totally Spies: The Nebulous Narcissistic Nanny
~The End~
Final Note from Mat49324: Well, that's all she wrote for The Nebulous Narcissistic Nanny! This was a good project for sure, and a good way to put nannies back in the hot seat on why it should never have been done in the first place. I really don't know why the creators of Totally Spies even had the gall to even include something very delusional like a nanny for a high schooler (reference S3's Space Much), but the fact that the spies got treated like dirt in that particular episode was very much enough to gag over as a first-time viewer. Anyway, we're leaving this behind, and we're going to start our next project, The Cruel Crushing Inventor, and let's just say this will be one that'll send some of the spies' emotions through the wringer, and that's where I'll leave it. I'll be authoring that one BTW. Here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts here.
Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And the nanny problem has been resolved! Yeah, even at fourteen when I first started watching Totally Spies, I questioned some of the nonsense that Jerry put Sam, Alex and Clover through. Maybe it was meant to show that, despite being their boss, Jerry wasn't perfect? The only ones who could really answer that are the writers of the show. We just write fanfics about it. That's probably why we decided to shy away from that in The New Adventures, only really bringing it back if it was a plot point (Nanny Nightmare and The Wrong Touch stand out as examples) so that Jerry could learn his lesson. It probably helps that he has a much better A.I. partner than GLADIS here to keep him on the straight and narrow.
With that done and dusted, let's preview the next episode of Totally Spies: The New Adventures! As we get closer to the midway point of season eleven, another villain we haven't seen since, I think, season two comes back for more, but there's a bit of a cruel twist to this one. What would that be? You'll just have to wait and find out, next time on The Cruel Crushing Inventor, which will be posted by Mat. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of The Cruel Crushing Inventor, and we'll see you next mission!
Before Nick could continue pondering that wrinkle, Nick heard a beep from nearby and surrounded everyone with a psychic bubble to pull them out of the pool, and just in time, as the pool had become a whirlpool.
"Nice try, Jerry," Nick chuckled, unaware of the metal pipe that had sprouted from the floor behind them until it had already activated, sucking all thirteen spies into it.
Jerry couldn't help but give a cheeky grin as the spies all fell into the office.
"Dang it all, he's getting sneakier," Alex quipped once everyone managed to get their bearings.
"I do have to keep you on your toes once in a while," Jerry chuckled.
"...okay, fair point," Blaine conceded.
"Okay, now that we're all here, who do we have to knock around this time?" Nick wondered as the spies all changed into their spy suits.
"Remember this weirdo?" RiCO chuckled as she materialized in the office and waved her hands so that the office viewscreen showed off a mugshot of the Inventor.
"Oh, lordy, he's back on the scene?" Clover groaned. "It's been a while since we've had to deal with that guy."
"Yeah, that was the time when he and Edison tried to brain bleach my parents to do his bidding at all those power plants in Japan," Nozomi quipped. "I still owe him some lumps for that."
"What kind of crazy inventions does he have up his sleeve this time around?" Sam wondered.
"That's what you're all gonna find out," RiCO answered as she pulled up a map of California. "I picked up a signal from one of his crazy contraptions somewhere in Venice Beach, so you'll be heading there first."
"It feels like it's been a while since we've been there, huh?" Haruka quipped.
"Well, everybody, let's do this thing!" May proclaimed.
To be continued in Totally Spies: The Cruel Crushing Inventor...
