At the big city station, the Indian Valley Railroad steam engine was sitting by the platform, and was waiting to depart, blowing its whistle a few times as steam shot up into the air. Inside the station, there were lots of people coming and going, all making their way to their next train. People were bustling about, trying to get from Point A to Point B by rail, and some were waiting for their train.
Among the crowds in the big city station, there was both Maria and Sheeva, the two of them planning to go and see Scorcher. Luckily, Sheeva knew where he ahd gone off to, so they just have to find the train heading off to Muffle Mountain.
"Track 3, non-stop to Muffle Mountain." A male announcer on the P.A said to the crowds, while Sheeva and Maria made their way to the platforms, though with all the noise of people moving about, trains coming and going, plus the diesel horns, it was hard to hear. "Shining Time, Track 4. Shining Time, Track 4."
"Which platform was the train to Muffle Mountain?" Maria asked to her mother.
"I thought I heard it was Track 4 or something." Sheeva answered back. "Or was it Track 3?"
Maria rolled her eyes at now her mother can mistake some things every now and then. "Mom..."
"Okay. Then what platform do you think our train is?" Sheeva questioned. Maria took a guess as she looks on, then she gestured over to where a steam train and two coaches is located by the platform. "Huh. Is it that one?" Sheeva inquired, then Maria nodded back. "Well, okay." They both go ahead and began to make their way towards the train. Then, both women go ahead and they boarded the train. "I hope you're right." Sheeva said to Maria.
"I hope so too." Maria nodded back.
A moment later, it was time to go. The engine rang its bell as it began to slowly move away from the platform with the rhythmic sound of deep chugging. The engine then blew its whistle twice before it began to pick up speed, leaving the station and city behind, heading forth into the countryside that lay before it. Maria and Sheeva unaware that this train was on Track 4 on departure.

At his house not far from Muffle Mountain, Burnett Stone was over in his living room, looking at one of his many books on the bookcase. He was always a reader, but he didn't mind to. It was something he liked to do in his past time, especially to help settle his mind over any such situation.
Burnett's home was built when he and Tasha were only kids. Their parents built the home for them, and over the course of time, they had kept the home in excellent condition. When Tasha passed away, Burnett kept the place the way he saw it when Tasha passed on, so he doesn't feel alone.
But, as Burnett read his book on steam engines, he then heard what was the faint sound of what might be an engine's whistle echoing from somewhere up above, the sound whistling through the air with the wind. He closed his book, and looked out the window to Muffle Mountain. He knew that sound anywhere.
And he wasn't the only one who heard that sound. Outside, Scorcher was standing by Burnett's old blue truck, enjoying the peace around the old home, him thinking about his daughter and his wife. But as he did so, he heard the faint sound of an engine's whistle echoing from Muffle Mountain. Scorcher looks on as he stepped over to the front gate, looking on at the mountain.
'Lady...' Scorcher thought with wide eyes, just as another whistle echoed out from the mountain.
Something was wrong in the air.

Meanwhile, back on Sodor, Braedey, Rose, and Scooby-Doo were doing their part to help out on the NWR. They got red aprons on to keep their clothes clean, plus red hats to go with the aprons. At the moment, Mr. Garcia was inside the sheds as he was contemplating about what Braedey and Rose told him about their nightmares last night.
Currently, Braedey was helping out scratching James's nose with a brush. He stood on the red engine's buffer beam and running board as he uses the brush. Rose was nearby and oiling James' bearings and parts.
"Left a bit." James directed Braedey, as he used the brush to scratch his nose. "Right a bit, right a bit. U-U-Up a bit." James then shuddered with a heavy sigh, and Braedey pulls the brush away from the red engine's face.
"There you go, James." Braedey smiled, then he climbs down from James' buffer beam.
"Tickle all gone now?" Rose asked softly to James after she had finished oiling his wheels and bearings.
"Yeah. All gone now. Thank you." James replied softly, then he now sees Braedey and Rose's tired expression. "Hey, Kids. Why do you both look so tired? Is it because I'm red? Diesel 10 said that red is a very tiring colour, but red looks so nice against the snow." James suddenly gasped aloud, as a thought now came to mind. "It's not me, is it?" He asked them in concern to the two.
"What? No, no. Of course not, James." Braedey shook his head. "It's not you at all."
"I think the colour red is bright and cheerful." Rose now told the red engine, showing a little smile.
"Oh, good." James now beamed and smiled brightly.
"Exactly. It's like my red mermaid tail." Rose added in.
"And like Mr. Garcia's sparkle. Or at least it was." Braedey sighed sadly. then looked back at James.
Mr. Garcia now walked up. "Oh. I'm sorry, James. Kids. I'm going with Braedey off to the windmill, to search for something important. Now, you head off to work, please." He kindly ordered to the red engine.
"Okay, Mr. G. Keep the steam up, you kids!" James smiled to them, and he chuffed out of the sheds in a cloud of steam to head off to work.
"Take care!" Rose waved.

Later, Braedey and Mr. Garcia were trekking their way through a few miles of forest, but they haven't found anything so far. They, Scooby, and Rose, opted to split up and look for clues to see what they could find anywhere around Sodor that could possibly help them find a way to restore the magic and Gold Dust. Then, the two men came to a devotion of bedrock, which was an old well, and there was no sign of the windmill.
"What happened? Where's the windmill?" Braedey looked around. "That's where we're supposed to be."
"Now, I've completely lost my sense of direction." Mr. Garcia sighed.
"So what do we do now?" Braedey asked.
Mr. Garcia tried his Gold-Dust again, but as he blew the whistle, nothing happened. He tried again, but again, nothing. No sparkle, no transportation or teleportation. Nothing. He sighed, and he sat down on the rocks. "Now my gold dust really is all gone." He spoke solemnly.
"All of our magic is gone." Braedey sighed deeply as he sat down next to him. "And if we can't find a way to get it back and restore the magic, the consequences of that could be disastrous, and I know it. I saw it in my nightmare last night." He shuddered at the memory.
"But, My family never told me what to do in a Gold Dust crisis." Mr. Garcia sighed as he sat on the rock. "They only said, 'if you don't remember the clue, the windmill will remind you'." He recalled.
"Yes. That's great and all. But, where is the windmill?" Braedey stood up, and looked over to a valley below. "But most importantly... what is the clue?"

Meanwhile, Thomas, Gordon, James, Henry, James, Percy and Toby were down by a section of railway line, all of them having an emergency meeting regarding the situation with Mr. Garcia and the kids, and about the Lost Engine herself.
"Smile, new steamers. It's a sunny day." Bertie said to the steam engines as the red country bus drove by. "Vroom, vroom!"
"It's not sunny, because Braedey and Mr. Garcia aren't at the windmill. I looked!" James spoke out firstly, then wheeshed some steam.
"I think their sparkle and magic is all gone." Thomas added in immediate concern for his friends.
"I am worried for those guys, especially Braedey, Rose and Scooby." Percy included next. "This island is a big place to get lost on."
"My smokebox doesn't feel sunny." Henry sniffed in, annoyance, while his cheeks were as red as James's paintwork. "It feels stuffed up."
"Nasty fumes from dingy Diesel. Hmm." Gordon huffed his indignantly.
"And Diesel 10 himself is after the Lost Engine." Henry added, looking concerned for the Lost Engine.
"And if he finds her, I hear that will destroy us all." Toby added in next, not looking very happy about the implications of what that could ensue. "The consequences of such an action would be devastating and catastrophic."
"What?!" Percy echoed. He wasn't sure of those words and what they mean, but they sound serious.
"WHAT?! Even an engine as big as ME?!" Gordon asked to the tram engine in outrage and defiance.
"Yes, Gordon. Even you." Toby replied back to Gordon calmly, and he too blew some steam from his funnel.
"Aaaah-CHOO!" Thomas suddenly sneezes out of unexpectedness, and this made his front wheels jump up then back down onto the tracks with a loud CLANK.
"Whoa!" Percy called.
"Say it, don't spray it, Thomas." James hissed at the blue tank engine.
"I've still got sneezing powder up my funnel." Thomas huffed with a look of frustration. "Now, I'm going to look for Braedey and Mr. Garcia at once." And with that, Thomas steamed away from the meeting , and he whistled as he puffed off to the mainline.
"Let's get back to work. That's what he would want." Toby now told the engines, referring to Mr. Garcia. The others agreed, wrapping up the meeting as they go ahead and head off back to work.
Bertie, who was driving along the road alongside the railway line, honks his horn to Thomas, seeing the blue tank engine chuffing along at speed. "How about a race, Thomas? Vroom-vroom." Bertie offered.
"Sorry, Bertie. I can't today." Thomas apologised, and he puffed down the line at speed. "I'm going to be a Really Useful Engine, and solve some mysteries instead." He whistled to Bertie as he puffed away.
"I guess that means I win. Perhaps another day. Vroom-vroom, vroom." Bertie honks his horn back, and he drove away along the roads of Sodor.
