With Mr. Garcia and Braedey, the two of them have been wandering about the forests, both of then having tried to find their way to the windmill where they hope to find some kind of clue or something to help find a way to restore the Gold-Dust and magic to save the island and the universe around them. So far, they haven't had such luck.
"No idea where we are, and no clue officially of where to go." Mr. Garcia sighed in frustration. "Sorry, kid."
"It's okay, sir. Gives me the chance to rest my legs." Braedey goes and sits down on a nearby rock. "We just need to think with more level heads for the moment."
"Right. You're right." Mr. Garcia sighed softly. He stood there for a few moments. "We just need to think of what we can do or who we can try to reach out to."
"You know, whenever I have these moments of silence to think to myself, I think back to how my life has been." Braedey admitted to say. "There's times when I think about how I got so lucky to be found by the gang in the first place and how they saved me all that time. I am grateful for that, and never a day goes by that I have been blessed by such luck for that."
"That's lucky for you." Mr. Garcia commented with a soft smile.
"Yeah. For me, life can be strange. One time, I can be on an island of demons, the second would be dealing with monsters unleashed, even a zombie island, witch's ghost, ending up in cyberspace, travelling to Scotland, or even meeting Rose." Braedey chuckled softly as he recalled that. "There I was, minding my own business, and the next thing I knew, there was this lovely blonde mermaid on the beach, smiling at me. Little did I know that first encounter with her would change my life..."
Mr. Garcia couldn't help but chuckle at all that this little kid has been through in his life. But then, he stopped as he thought about what Braedey just said. "Wait a second. Beach..." He thought. "Beach..." He then had a look of realisation as he smiled broadly. "That's it! I've got it! You little genius, you!"
"What? You've got what?" Braedey asked as he stood up suddenly.
"I need to find a bellflower. I need to make a phone call." Mr. Garcia stated, then he sprinted off into the forest, and this made the young brunette follow after him, confused of what he meant.
Mr. Garcia looked around him in the forest. Eventually, he now saw two large blue bellflowers, just as Braedey ran up. "Aha!" Mr. Garcia held the stems underneath the flowers, and he pulled them up, but the stems didn't break, as they stretch out and extend like hoses or so, now acting like the microphone and speaker parts of a phone.
"Oh! It's like a telephone!" Braedey realised as he saw the genius of the bellflowers. "Kinda funky. I wish I had one of those." He then raised an eyebrow. "But... who are you calling?" He inquired.
"An old acquaintance of mine..." Mr. Garcia clarified to him as he waited for his call to be answered.
Meanwhile, on the tropical island of Hawaii, someone was relaxing in the calm and gentle sunlight of the day, enjoying the calm breeze of the Hawaiian day. He sat in one of the lawn chairs down on the beach, and was listening to some musical tunes on his headphones.
This man is a Caucasian male at about 37yrs of age, with a set of brown eyes, accompanied by short golden blonde hair, and fair skin. He stands around 5ft tall, and he has a firm body figure and shape. He is wearing a pair of red board shorts with black lining, plus a black tank top over his chest, and a gold whistle around his neck. His name is Casey Jones Baldwin.
As Casey relaxes in his seat, he suddenly heard the sound of a Dixie horn, making him sit up with a startle. He looks around at the beach, until he heard the sound of the Dixie horn. "That's my phone." He realised, so he takes his headphones out, pulls out his phone from his pocket, and he answers his phone. "Hello? Casey Jones calling."
"Casey? Casey, is that you?" A familiar voice now asks on the other end of the line, Casey's eyes widening.
"Franklin? Is that you?" Casey asked in surprise. He and Franklin Garcia happen to be cousins, and he usually hangs out on Sodor whenever he can, though he gets mischievous with a few of them, but stopped when Sir Topham Hatt ordered him to. Casey smiled, and sat back on the long chair. "Long time, no whistle, buddy."
"Tyler, where are you?" Franklin now asked.
"Well, I'm in Hawaii. Living the dream, pal. Living the dream." Tyler replied.
"I see." Franklin commented as he spoke out. "Casey, I have someone to talk to you about what's going on."
"Hello, Mr. Casey? This is Braedey Martin speaking." Braedey's voice now spoke on the line. "You need to listen to me, and listen to me carefully. You've got to come to Island of Sodor right now." He told Casey.
"Right now? What's the problem, little guy?" Casey can tell from the sound of Braedey's voice that it was very important.
"The Gold-Dust and all the magic is gone, as if it were sucked dry, and we fear this could very well mean the end of anything and everything that was magical around us and the world." Braedey explained to him. "The island, the railway, everything that ever revolves around anything about Thomas and his friends, it'll all just disappear into nonexistence."
"You need to help us find the source to get the family's Gold-Dust and bring back the rest of the magic." Franklin added in.
"What is the source?" Casey inquired in concern.
"That's the problem, sir." Braedey replied. "We haven't got a clue."
"Well, I can tell I'm slowly running out on Gold-Dust, too." Casey muttered softly, looking down at the whistle around his neck. Casey uses his Gold-Dust to help him get about the area.
"WHAT?!" Braedey sounded surprised and annoyed.
"I... said that aloud, didn't I?" Casey muttered out.
"Then, please go to Shining Time Station first." Franklin now spoke out he sounded calm and gave instructions, Casey mimicking the motion of where to go. "Inside my signal house, in the box under the staircase... you'll find my emergency whistle with the last of my supply. Take heed of this, Casey, and whatever you do..." He then whispered on the line. "...don't talk to anyone about the buffers."
"What buffers?" Tyler asked out of curiosity.
"Quiet!" Franklin snapped back at him.
"Mr. Casey, you need to come here to the island right away! We're counting on you." Braedey's voice asked.
"Right. I'm on my way. See you there." With that, Casey ended the call, and closed his phone. Then, he stood up, and looked to the sea. "Okay, then. I guess I'm off to Shining Time." He goes to get himself ready.
Meanwhile, the Indian Valley Railroad train was making its way down the tracks, heading on its way down as it does so. After some time, the train and its express eventually began to slow down as it pulls up into the station. As it was slowing down to a stop, onboard the first coach, Maria and Sheeva both now saw the name of the station building.
"'Shining Time'?" Maria now read the station name, as the train stopped. "What does that even mean?" She wondered.
"Well, regardless, this is our stop." Sheeva now collects their bags. "Come on, now. Can't stay on the train."
Maria and Sheeva both now disembark the carriage of the rain, making their way over to the station building. But, as they entered, they saw that there wasn't anyone around, even as they take their seats in the lobby of the building.
"Where is everybody?" Maria questioned. She then looked at her daughter. "Do you think we got on the wrong train in the first place?" She asked.
"Maria? Sheeva?" The two of them now look over, and they were surprised to see Daphne and Shaggy walk in. "Well, this is definitely a surprise."
"Like, yeah." Shaggy walked up. "Good to see you both."
"Shaggy, Daphne." Sheeva smiled softly. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Well, we're actually trying to find Braedey, Rose, and Scooby." Daphne explained to the two. "They've disappeared."
"Oh, no." Maria stood up in worry. "Are they okay?"
"That's what concerns me. We haven't found anything that would tell us where they could be." Daphne stated.
"Like, we've been searching around Muffle Mountain and Shining Time to try and find any clues." Shaggy added in. "So far, we haven't found any clues on where they are."
Just then, the four of them could hear what sounded like someone going about someone's house... coming from the signalbox painting? "That's gonna leave a mark! Oh! Maybe in here. Oh, cake! Okay, that's not cake! Oh, 6 little... er, 5 little glass figurines." A male voice spoke out, so Maria decided to knock on the door. "Oh, is someone there?"
Sure enough, a small flash of golden dust seemed to appear at the door of the signalbox, making Maria step back as Sheeva, Daphne, and Shaggy look on in surprise, now seeing a blonde male appear before them, sporting summer clothing as he dusts himself off.
"This is too much. I've got to get back to the island. I've got to get to cousin." The blonde male muttered out, then he saw the four people before him. "Oh, hello there. Who might you be?" He greeted.
"I'm Sheeva, this is my daughter Maria. And these are our friends, Shaggy and Daphne." Sheeva gave the introductions.
"Who might you be?" Daphne inquired.
"Casey Jones Baldwin." The blonde male greeted to the four of them. "Say, have any of you seen a red skateboard or surfboard go by?" He looked around the corner of the wall.
"I don't know." Maria shrugged.
Casey shrugged, then picks up a small whistle around his neck. "Well, I'd better keep this safe, and watch out for the use of my Gold-Dust. See ya later, fellas." Then, to the four's surprise, Tyler turned back to the signalbox and he vanished in a flash of golden light and little sprinkles, which faded away.
"Like, wow..." Shaggy commented.
Daphne now got down on her knees, and saw golden dust down on the ground. She scoops some up in her hand and she looked at it. "What is this golden stuff?" She asked softly in curiosity.
Back on Sodor, the sun was starting to set, the island slowly transitioning into its nightly phase. Braedey and Mr. Garcia were both lying in a nearby field close to the railway tracks, the two of them feeling exhausted and tired after trying and failing to find their way to the windmill they're looking for.
As they lay there, trying to rest, Braedey had a feeling of dread and concern within him. He even had images of the world without magic, Mermaid Tail crumbling to dust, the island sinking below the waves, the engines all rusting away, and it was terrifying for him. Even during these images, he could see a bridge collapsing, but also a small tank engine chuffing along.
"I am out of my league. Saving two worlds from magic collapse? How can one just do that?" Braedey said inside of his head. "How am I supposed to save the magic of the universe if I don't know how?? Where can I find the magic and Gold Dust? How do I get more magic and Gold Dust? What is the source of all magic and Gold Dust??"
As the two lay there, they thought they could hear what sounds like an engine chuffing. And it was getting closer to them? It got Braedey and Mr. Garcia's attention as they sat up from their positions on the ground.
"You hear that?" Braedey asked. "It sounds like a steam engine."
"Is someone there?" Mr. Garcia asked aloud.
"Thomas, is that you?" Braedey looks around.
Sure enough, Thomas was chuffing along the tracks nearby, him looking concerned and worried for his human friends as he puffs along. "Mr. Garcia? Braedey? Rose!" But Thomas doesn't see both Mr. Garcia or Braedey by the trackside as he passes by them.
"Thomas?" Mr. Garcia called out, but the blue tank engine did not hear him.
"Oh, Scooby-Doo. Where are you?" Thomas called out as he chugs away down the line.
Braedey watches the blue tank engine puffing away. "Thomas!" He called out, but Thomas was already long gone.
"How could I possibly say that I'm really useful now?" Mr. Garcia muttered softly to himself before he fell asleep.
As for Braedey, he just looks on in the direction of where Thomas had puffed away, him letting out a saddened sigh. "Now we'll never get home." He lies down in the grass and sighed sadly to himself.
Soon enough, back at Shining Time Station, Stacey, the station manager, found Sheeva and Maria, along with Fred, Willow, and Velma, who were rather surprised to see them. They asked for why they were here, Sheeva explaining to them about how they were going to see Scorcher after he had left to meet someone up in Muffle Mountain, but they must have gotten on the wrong train. So, the gang offered to drive Sheeva and Maria up to Muffle Mountain.
So, after getting a rental van, the gang drive along the small roads that seem to switchback around the mountain as they made their way along. It was a bit of a journey to take, but eventually, they arrived at a crossroads where there was Scorcher, who'd been taking some pictures of the mountain in the distance.
"Scorcher." Daphne greeted.
Scorcher turns to see Daphne and the others. "Oh, hey. Didn't expect to see you guys." He then saw his wife and daughter. "Sheeva, Maria. Good to see you."
"Hi, Dad." Maria runs up and hugged her father, Scorcher gently hugging her back.
"Lemme guess - got the wrong train." Scorcher looked at his wife with a knowing expression.
"Okay, so maybe I did. But it's not like you drinking milk straight from the carton." Sheeva countered.
"I did that ONE time. ONE TIME." Scorcher insisted back. "And you never let me hear the end of it."
"And for good reason." Sheeva smirked softly.
'Did not expect that.' Willow thought to herself.
Scorcher rolled his eyes, then took notice that Mystery, Inc. was down three members. "Hang on. Where are the blonde mermaid princess, your little dude, and Scooby?" He asked.
"Like, they just vanished into thin air. We don't know where they could've gone." Shaggy answered back.
"We can only hope that they're safe." Daphne added.
"I have a feeling they are." Willow spoke up.
Fred took a look at his watch. "We should get back to the hotel. It's starting to get dark." He said to them.
"You take care. Hope to talk to you later." Scorcher said to them, the gang heading off to the van. "Let's go." He said to his wife and daughter.
The trio get into a parked car nearby, and after they exchange horns with the gang, they began to drive away, the Mystery, Inc. gang heading off to the hotel they're staying in, while Scorcher and his family head off to Burnet Stone's home. When they arrived, Burnet greeted them warmly and welcomed them to his home, Sheeva and Maria thanking him for his hospitality, with Scorcher explaining how he and Burnet are old friends.
But, later that night, as Burnet sat by a burning fire in the fireplace in the living room, and with Maria asleep in a spare bedroom, a faint whistle suddenly echoed from the top of Muffle Mountain. Maria heard the sound, waking her up. She got out of bed, and looked out to the mountain outside her window. Scorcher was outside with Sheeva, and they too hear the whistling. The gang, who were all wondering about Braedey, Rose, and Scooby's location, heard the sound, and they looked to the mountain in confusion.
Burnet knew something was wrong. He looked back at the fire, as Lady continued to whistle on through the night.
'As the sound of Lady's magic echoed on through the night on Muffle Mountain, the engines back on Sodor had her very much on their thoughts.'
Nighttime came for Sodor. The island was blanketed in the sleepy night. But for others, work continued on, especially for those who carry on through the night to keep the North Western Railway going.
Out on the branchline, Percy was currently pulling the mail train, now making his way off to Knapford. As he did so, Gordon was departing the station with the night express, Edward also taking a night train to Brendam. Gordon saw Percy and he whistled out to him, and Percy whistled back as he approached Knapford.
But, unbeknownst to the engines, Diesel 10 was parked up inside of a nearby shed, eavesdropping in to what's going on inside the station. He laughed sinisterly to himself, a sinister smirk on his face as he listens in.
"Uh, Thomas. I've been thinking." Percy spoke to Thomas as he pulls up into the station on the opposite platform to Thomas, who was also taking the mail. "How does Mr. Garcia travel here?" He asked.
"By Gold-Dust." Thomas replied.
"And how did Braedey, Rose, and Scooby-Doo travel here?" Percy inquired.
"They only mentioned about tumbling down a mountain, a flash of light, and they ended up here." Thomas answered. "And that was a day before Mr. Garcia arrived on Sodor."
"But, if there's a Lost Engine, maybe there's a lost railway, too; Mr. Garcia's railway." Percy now took a guess.
"'The journey keeps getting bumpier and bumpier'...!" Thomas now thought back about what Mr. Garcia said to him one day when he arrived on Sodor. "That's what Mr. Garcia told me when I collected him. Braedey did mention that when he, Rose and Scooby arrived here, they saw a set of buffers before they walked off and met Toby."
"Mr. Garcia oddly talked about buffers in his sleep last night." Percy added in, then he looks serious. "Buffers are at the end of a railway. I think that's how the he travels here, and that is also how Braedey, Rose, and Scooby-Doo ended up here in the first place as well. They ended up on Sodor, riding on a secret railway..."
"Belonging to the Lost Engine!" Thomas concluded in full realisation, now getting what Percy was saying. "Wow, Percy. You are clever." He complimented to his friend.
Satisfied by what he's heard, an evil smirk now present on his face, Diesel 10 rolled away out of the shed, knowing that he had all of the information he needed to complete his evil scheme, heading off towards the scrapyards.
Thomas suddenly shivered. "Oh. My wheels are suddenly feeling very wobbly. I think Diesel's around here." He said in concern.
Just then, Toby arrived at the station, ringing his bell. He had just finished taking his last passengers home, and he had just seen what had happened. "I'm sorry, you two. Diesel 10 heard every word you said." Both Thomas and Percy look worried. "I'm going after him to see what he does next. You two carry on, get the mail delivered, then make your way back to the sheds as soon as possible." He instructed to the two tank engines.
"Oh, you're very brave, Toby." Percy praised to the old tram engine.
"Oh, Diesel 10 won't bother with an engine like me." Toby replied casually, then he left the station as Thomas watches him go. "He thinks l'm really useless."
The Smelter's Yard. Otherwise known as the Sodor Ironworks. The Sodor Ironworks is a large metal foundry, where scrap is delivered, melted down and repurposed. It is located South of Killdane, along the Killdane Branchline.
The main building on the site is a large warehouse known as the Smelter's Shed. Inside the shed are a number of different tracks, as well as a turntable, the manager's officer, and a large claw hanging from the roof. The outside of the ironworks is littered with many twisted pieces of rusting scrap metal and ruined parts of machines, including those of old steam engines. Because of this, many engines find the Ironworks to be rather spooky, especially during the night, when falling sparks illuminate scary shadows inside the shed.
"I've been working on the railway, on a live long day~..." Diesel 10 sang out as he went through the Smelting Shed. He laughed to himself as he raced out, in a cloud of smoke. "Yeah, WHO wants to work a live long day, anyway?" He questioned.
But, unbeknownst to him, a certain little steam tram had just arrived in the Smelters Yard. Toby slowly made his way through the remains of twisted scrap and broken machines, making his way towards the scrapping shed.
"There he is." Toby whispered as he came to a stop, and he looked ahead, him hidden amongst the torn and scrapped engines around him. There, underneath an old rusty covered roof not far from the smelting shed, was Diesel 10, and his two lackey diesels, Splatter and Dodge, who had just arrived.
"Come in, come in, and join the party, Slodge." Diesel 10 welcomed and greeted the two shunter diesels in.
"Hooray, Hooray!" Both diesels cheer out loudly. "We're gonna have a party! I love parties! Yeah! Who's got the balloons?!"
Toby listened closely to the conversation between the three diesels, not liking where this could go, but remaining as quiet and as still as he can.
"Correction; you've joined the party that's over." Diesel 10 corrected to them and laughed. "Just like Twinkle Toes' Magic Railway's gonna be over." The two shunter diesels listen closely to this. "GONE! And the Lost Engine, and the buffers that lead to her." Toby didn't like the sound of this, a frown forming in his face.
"Oh, w-what are you gonna do?" Splatter and Dodge now asked to their boss, wondering what he's going to do. "Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's a good question. Yeah."
Diesel 10 now smiled evilly to the two diesels. "It's time to finally put Twinkle Toes and those little brats' lights out." Both shunter diesels look at him, wondering what he'll do. "THIS is a job... FOR THE BOSS!!" Diesel 10 roared and laughed evilly, snapping his claw four times to emphasis his point, the two diesels agreeing with him.
"I've got to delay him! I've got to distract him!" Toby said quietly with determination. He looked around him, trying to think of something that he could use to try and distract him, then he remembered his golden bell. He pulls on the rope, and he begins to ring the bell quickly.
Diesel 10 heard this, as the other two diesels look in fear, as he rolls forward of them. "IT'S THE OLD TEAPOT!! SMASH HIM!!" He abruptly raised his claw at tremendous speed, but inadvertently smashing into a structural beam above them, and it now brought down the shed roof on top of the three diesels with a crash! Diesel 10 was now infuriated, and this resulted in his claw bursting through the roof, sparks coming off the claw as well.
Toby laughed quietly to himself, seeing what happened to the three diesels, thanks to his quick thinking and his brass bell, as Diesel 10 struggled to control his claw, which was still snapping out and struggling to even get free.
"PINCHY! Get back here!" Diesel 10 yelled at his claw, which continued to snap out of control. "Don't make me come up there! I hate it when you do this!" He groaned.
"Good show." Toby smiled, and with that, he left the Smelters Yard in a cloud of steam, leaving Diesel 10 and his lackeys still trapped under the roof.
"Uh, boss?" Splatter and Dodge softly asked to Diesel 10, both of them worried and scared of what their boss will do, when they eventually get out of the wreckage. "Did you mean to let the roof fall in? I mean, all the way in?"
"I always... when what I do... you rattletraps!" Diesel 10 yelled out through clenched teeth at the two diesels, then he groaned out in pain.
