Rin POV
As the day went on it became even more noticeable about how much attention I was getting. The students did a crap job of pretending they were not looking at me, all eyes went to me the moment I entered a room and the whispers were barley whispers at all. I did my best to not listen and was glad that one of the guys was always around. I knew most of the others would be too scared to approach me even on my own, but some wouldn't think twice especially some of the older demons. It came as a surprise that one of the guys followed me to EVERY class and got away with it to. Not one teacher said anything about it, not even Professor who I thought for sure would try something, I mean he almost always does.
I was more then happy to just go with it as I saw Kitty more then once walking the halls, glaring at me as if I was the cause of World War three or something. Anyone remember Kitty? She is a senior demon girl who has a crush on Sesshomaru and my very first encounter with her ended up with me, and her covered in mud on picture day. Ya that was fun, and she has made it more than clear that she hates me. I'm just glad I only really have to deal with her and her bitchy attitude in passing. We don't share any classes thankfully though she has managed to catch me in the restroom alone a few times. Now her glares are making me glad one can't kill with a look.
Now as we head to last hour, I am more then done with the day. It has been a really long time since I have gone a whole school day without Sess, and I'm missing him. I never really noticed how he made me feel less lonely, even with all the others I still feel like the most important part of me is missing.
Before we get to the gym a demon girl comes running up to me and pulls me into her arms in a breath crushing hug. Its not until she pulls back, keeping her hands on my shoulders, that I see it's the demon girl from my third hour. The smile dancing on her pretty face tells me, she at least, is happy and not about to kill me.
"I just wanted to say congratulations on finding your voice!" her smile is genuine and reaches her eyes making then sparkle. "Oh, and that no matter how much shit you will get I think you and Sesshomaru make a great couple."
It was easy to see she meant every word so I was able to return her smile.
"Thank you, and not just for the complements." I start lightly wrapping my small hands around her wrists, "But also for coming to get me."
Her smile turned into a grin, "Well if I had known what had set him off, I might not have, I didn't know the dude was stocking you."
With that she gives me a light squeeze and runs off down the hall, not even giving me a chance to respond.
"I like her." Koga says as we start heading to gym class once more, the others make noises of agreement.
Nothing else happens and soon school is done for the day. To me it seemed twice as long and I ran out as soon as the last bell rang. Didn't even think of waiting for the others, though I did stop by my locker long enough to grab the stuff I needed, then ran for the front doors. I knew without question Sess was waiting for me. I managed to be the fist person out of the school and my gaze went right to the silvery black Jag sitting at the curb.
It didn't look like Sesshomaru had moved all day; his arms crossed over his well muscled chest and leaned against the side. Walking never crossed my mind; I took off running to him. He was ready for me pushing off his car and opening his arms wide, I slammed into him pressing as close as possible. Rubbing my cheek against his firm chest I took in his sent loving having his close once more. I couldn't really understand why this time away was bothering me more then times past. I mean this was far from the first time we had been separated, but some how this was one of the hardest days I've had to deal with in a long time. Knowing he would stand here all day with his face buried in my neck holding me, I pulled back to look up into his amber eyes.
"I missed you."
Such simple words to hold so much feeling. His eyes warmed and the look he gave me turned soft, "I missed you as well my Rin."
Hearing the commotion of other students leaving the building Sesshomaru pulled back and helped me into the passenger seat. Before he closed the door, he bent his tall frame down so I could meet his intense gaze.
"I need to talk to you about some stuff before I take you home." He didn't wait to see if I had questions, simply closed the door and walked around to get in.
I waited till we where on the road and heading away from school before I turned to him. "Are we going to your house?"
"No…..I'm taking you to a park nearby." He glanced over at me smirked and turned back to the road. "I even talked with you uncle before making my plans."
"Oh good, wouldn't want him to get mad so soon after this last thing." The laugh was there in my tone and in the barley suppressed smile.
It wasn't long before we were pulling into the lot for the park. Sesshomaru parked then came around and helped me from the Jag. In comfortable silence we walked hand in hand down the sidewalk that wound around and though the park. The trees were bare for winter and the grass a dull yellow that crunched when walked on. The sky was a light blue with a few clouds drifting by and air held a slight chill but wasn't too cold. Not today anyway. Tall trees and flower beds dull and lifeless still drew the eye, benches were placed in strategic places. It was at one of those we stopped sitting next to each other, not a word yet to be said. I knew he would explain why he felt the need to bring me out here when he was ready.
"So….the officer who spoke with us the other day called." His words were calm and his exspretion gave nothing away. Well to those who couldn't read him like me anyway. I saw the tension in his jaw, the anger hidden deep in his blank amber stare that was locked on the clouds in the sky. It was best to just let him talk in his own time, knowing this I sat with my small hand held firmly in his larger one.
Sess took a deep inhale and on the exhale the words came, "They had to take a closer look into that boy since it wasn't an unprovoked attack." I kept my eyes on him but didn't interrupt.
"Turns out you are not the first person he has stocked; from what they found three others in the past have had to deal with him." He paused and met my gaze, "Those girls did not have someone like me around to help them."
I was afraid to ask what became of them, but I didn't need to as with his next breath Sess told me what I needed to know.
"He never hurt them…..simply took photos and followed them around. The first girl he did ask out and they went on two dates before he lost interest and moved on."
"So did he just like the idea of being with them or what?" my voice was barely more then a whisper in the wind.
"Not sure really. He never approached the second girl but he did let her see him and it scared her enough that she moved schools. The last one…..she tried to file a complaint but was told she needed more then just a feeling to do so."
The look I gave him had the corner of his lips lifting though they never formed a smile.
"The officer wasn't too happy with that either, don't be surprised if the school has to make some changes."
"Ok so what happened with the last girl and why did he start to follow me?"
"She got lucky and her father got a job offer in another state so they moved before anything progressed. She did tell the officer he was starting to appear more often and getting closer while he took the photos, to the point she and a few of her friends saw him taking them."
"That's not worrying at all." I could feel the sarcasm dripping from my mouth with each word.
Sess smirked," Think he took interest in you around picture day. He had some photos of you covered in mud with some other girls standing around you." The smirk stayed and was soon accompanied by the lift of an eyebrow. A clear you wan to explain this one.
"Ya, ok so I was pushed into the med by some older girls and that's why I had to change." I tried to sound annoyed but the laughter was still noticeable.
"Hmmm, I would never say this to them, but I'm glad they did or I wouldn't have gotten to see you all dressed up."
"How mean! You know they only wanted to warn me off from you!"
His eyes danced with amusement. "How did that work out for them."
It was my turn to smirk, "Well, I threw mud right back at her and I'm dating you soooo I win."
The emotion that flashed in his eyes was gone to fast for me to even think of trying to identify it.
"Yes." It took a moment for us to move back to the conversation, but it seemed Sess had something else he wanted to discus more than the stocker problem. "So due to what they have found charges will not be pressed on me and he will be moved from our school."
"Ok good so we won't have to worry about that anymore."
"No, we won't though I still have something else to tell you." For the first time ever, I heard nervousness in his tone. I tilted my head to look at him and gave an encouraging smile.
"I need to explain why my demon behaves the way he does when it comes to you."
Just from the tone alone I knew this wasn't going to be a simple it's because I really like you type of conversation. My knowledge on demons and their behavior is super limited and even more so when it comes down to the different types of demons and how they act, the look on his face made me wish I knew more right now, like really, really want to know more.
