It was an odd team the Uchiha built for himself. A water-based swordsman, a female Uzumaki with this odd way to heal, an unstable man that when enraged was a deadly threat. It seemed the Uchiha calmed him in some bizarre way.
She would label him as dead weight.
The female Uzumaki could be just as loud as Naruto and Sakura put together. This seemed to amuse the swordsman as he would rile her up numerous times. Uchiha seemed to do an amazing job at ignoring them for the most part. More than likely because he was experienced ignoring his former teammates from Team 7.
Hinata's shadow clone was able to watch the fall of Orochimaru and the formation of 'Team Hebi'. In Hinata's opinion, things were coming along nicely, but she was starting to sense an annoying shift in the works. Too many dominant people in this small ninja world.
Team Kakashi
Team Hebi
The Akatsuki
All in the same perimeter of one another. Who would have thought this would be the annoying case. It almost made sense though, Naruto was a walking prize for many people at the moment.
Still.
Team Kakashi and Team Hebi were both looking for the same person. From her observation the older Uchiha wasn't within 10 miles from Team Kakashi or Team Hebi. Of course, he could be able to deceive her eyes. It is not something rare for a stronger ninja to be able to do. So he could be closer to Itachi then she even knew. It was all a gamble.
Between Hinata and her shadow clone she had 20 miles covered and the two Akatsuki members she had in her sights from her studies she was really only able to identify one of them and that being Deidara. An explosion specialist.
The other was rather secretive, and she learned those were the worse type of people.
She wanted nothing to do with either of them and if she could avoid anyone from the Akatsuki than she would gladly do so. It was important after all to know when to fight or flight. She didn't know if she was relieved or not that the Akatsuki member decided to pursue the younger Uchiha.
Of course she was happy that she herself didn't have to deal with the explosive man, but now her clone that had eyes on the Uchiha would probably be destroyed.
It would take time to find the Uchiha again. Time she did not want to waste.
Getting the Uchiha's attention and directing him in the path Hinata wanted him to go would be more beneficial in getting a 'Team Hebi' and Team Seven collision with limited interaction from the Akatsuki.
Sounds like a good plan right? If only the men involved in this game would act how their temporary puppet master wanted them to act.
Hinata's clone continued to observe as Team Hebi advanced from the direction they had been shacking up at. She was originally five miles ahead of them, the closer the team got, the sooner they would detect her. Sure enough it was Sasuke who noticed her first. Maybe he had been searching for her along his journey?
Sasuke paused for a moment. Looking to be in thought before deciding to advance towards the un-masked ROOT-nin. The four-man team cell all came into her view. The team had no real strategy and looked at 'Wire' like she was in the way. Like she was nothing.
That was fine, she was practically no one.
Hinata's shadow clone was covered in her cloak, but her mask was pulled to the side as she stared at them still indifferent to the encounter.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at her, not at all trusting this female in front of him. How could a wallflower like this Hyuga become such a nuisance. "What do you want? Get out of the way." He wasted no time this time withdrawing his sword.
Hinata was silent for a while before she tilted her head, "There is an Akatsuki team in pursuit of you Uchiha. They are getting relatively close. How did you not notice this?"
This seemed to peak his interest considering the man he hated was an Akatsuki member. "Itachi?"
Hinata blinked owlishly. This was almost entertaining to her, "Not unless he has blonde hair." She pointed her index finger to the left of her, "They are coming in from that direction. One is an explosive specialist that can cause you a lot of damage. The other's abilities is unknown, could be deadlier than the other one. If you got injured severely by them, fighting your brother would have to be held off even longer."
Sasuke frowned at her. He didn't trust her not one bit. "Why are you telling me this?"
Hinata shrugged her shoulders, "I am hoping the fight with your brother will kill you. I am not sure this explosives man will do the trick and his partner is too unknown for me to make a conclusion that he will kill you either. So, hopefully with my guidance to your brother, your will brother kill you, so I don't have to waste my time doing it. I help you only for my benefit Uchiha…plus I believe in you having an honorable death considering your…traumatic upbringing."
He gritted his teeth at her, this cocky little…
"Sasuke-kun who is this?" Karin looked between Sasuke and 'Hinata', who slowly drifter her eyes to Karin, than the water dissolver Suigetsu and then the Sage user Jugo.
Weighing her options as she stared at them. Considering it appeared that the Uchiha was giving her more mouth than what she wanted, she knew she was going to have to get him going in the direction she wanted him to go on her own.
Her eyes finally settled on Jugo and she stared the beautiful man up and down. "Dead weight."
Sasuke pulled his sword out in preparation of an attack when he saw Hinata's Byakugan appear, "Mental illness is a horrible combination to have as a ninja. You should be in a hospital, not traveling with criminals."
Lord Danzo had given her the name 'Wire' for a reason. While her nature type was fire and lighting she grew very much attached to water. Molding it and watching it bend to her will was relaxing to her.
Interesting enough the human body is made up of 45-75% percent of water. Depending on age and body structure that would determine how much water is in the body. Males have a higher percentage of water in their body. The more muscle a human has in their body versus fatty tissue also aids in holding more water in the body.
The human heart contains 75-80% of water.
Another interesting thing about Hinata being able to mold water was that she could create chakra like wires with them and connect them to the human body. Using her Byakugan she then was able to pinpoint the human heart.
From there she could connect the heart with her chakra water-based strings that was created from the water in the human body. Her wired strings became one and molded with the water in the human body. Now if an opponent was stronger and alert they could fight off the connection to the point it would be just a jump of the heart. It would still cause them to pause enough for a deadly attack, but it wouldn't be an instant kill.
Mental illness was a terrible thing. It messed with your senses and skills sometimes.
It just so happened Jugo's 'sometime' was today.
No one noticed her wires connecting to the quiet man. Hinata had mastered it to an extent that she could make her wires invincible to the human eye. They just saw her lift her hand up in a nonchalant manner like she was talking about the weather. Sasuke noticed her middle finger move down slowly to her palm in a jerking manner like she was testing something out with her hand.
Immediately Jugo faltered, Sasuke's eyes snapped at the misunderstood man and his eyes widened when he saw blood leak from Jugo's mouth. His head snapped back to Hinata, who then pulled her middle finger all the way to her palm and just like that Jugo's heart was ripped out of his body leaving a lifeless corps to fall from the high tree branches.
It got dangerously quiet and Sasuke slowly turned his head to the dark female in front of him. She sent him a cool look back and lowered her hand but her Byakugan was still pulsating. Karin and Suigetsu looked to be in total shock and a mixture of fear. Who the hell was this person?
"He would have sooner or later been a burden. You should get moving fast Uchiha."
With this the shadow clone dispersed leaving now a three-man team.
Hinata received memories of her shadow clones last encounter with the Uchiha and accepted she wasn't going to have sights on Sasuke for quite some time. A small price to pay to get the results she needed.
She traveled behind Team Guy and Team 7, but she noticed how Kakashi and Guy would not let her travel behind them. They didn't trust her.
Sakura and Naruto traveled near one another, Sai not too far from them. Tenten, Lee and Neji all in a tight nit group walking together. Naruto gave her the silent treatment that she wanted from him and she was left to her thoughts the whole time since the start of the mission.
She was sure Kakashi and Guy picked up on the distance that Naruto created between the two. She was also sure that they knew it had to be because of her. Really though, this was for Naruto's own good. She was nothing but a burden. Trying to 'save' her was a waste of anyone's time.
She may have not been raised into ROOT, but Lord Danzo wasted no time in making sure she got the right training to make her into what he needed.
She spent four years training and actively being on missions to specialize in reconnaissance and assassination. This included being able to live off of little to no food, probably a solid 800 calories a day. Most of the time what she could find from the land. As part of her training her sleep schedule was always tossed left and right. Sometimes she'd get 8 hours of sleep and sometimes she'd get none. She could push herself to go 72 hours non-stop of no sleep and still perform at her best.
Emotions were a big thing that was a weakness for her in the past and was probably the hardest thing for her to lose. Of course because of her late arrival in ROOT she figured she'd always have her own opinion and have some type of emotions.
She just got a better control over it as the years went on, she wouldn't be weak from it anymore.
Hinata went through grisly training and while she trained and faltered with her fire and lighting nature, she excelled in water. She was able to find her niche with it and it proved to be more beneficial than fire. While the Uchiha got a taste of her special skill, there were still a few more tricks up her sleeve in case he wanted to make his debut anytime soon.
It would seem he wanted to make his debut soon.
Pausing in her tracks she noticed the two jonin behind her do the same thing followed by the rest of the group. Simultaneously her and Neji activated their Byakugan to scout the area. Neji looking a bit more shocked than her and identified the group coming towards them had Uchiha Sasuke in it.
He was moving substantially fast and she could only image the reason why. Hinata wasn't surprised when the members of Team 7 were the first to engage Sasuke. None of them having a clue for Sasuke's sudden rage.
Meanwhile Hinata's adrenaline was pumping. In this moment she could fulfill her mission for Lord Danzo and go back to her daily life in the shadows. She already started to think how this would go. Now that the Uchiha was missing his muscle of the group it could prove to be easier to bring him down if Uzumaki would stop playing coy with his fights against his former teammate.
Hinata watched as Suigetsu came barreling out the top of the trees with the Kubikiribōchō sword. A massive sword for a small man like himself. Very impressive how he uses it. Even more impressive that he is able to use it. She watched as he made a massive indent on the ground and caused everyone to scatter for space.
Another muscle to Sasuke's group Hinata was noticing. Slight error on her end.
Suigetsu counted as one, now there were two more missing. Oh, there is the female Uzumaki right there taking on Sakura and Tenten, not surprising.
Finally Sasuke made his appearance and the utter look of violence on his face made it all worth wild for Hinata to know she inspired him even just a little to show such emotion.
Just like she predicted Naruto intercepted Sasuke from his advancements. She didn't miss how Sasuke was bee-lining to her direction when Naruto stopped him. She also noticed how Naruto shot her a confused look almost asking, 'what the fuck did you do'.
Sasuke looked to be in an enraged state. She counted how outnumbered 'Team Hebi' was at the moment. What were they thinking to just appear out of nowhere all at once, with no chance of escaping? Surely someone would get injured or killed and left behind. Were they that upset over the death of their other teammate?
What was the big deal? Everyone in the world is disposable.
Maybe this was an emotion that left her a long time ago. Why were they upset that a teammate died? They were ninja's…ROGUE NINJA'S.
Snapping her head in the opposite direction of Sasuke and his team, Hinata wasn't exactly surprised when in a dramatic manner a blonde-haired young man came in with Akatsuki robes on.
This was better than Hinata expected. There was no way Sasuke's team was going to be enough for the large Konoha group. Also taking on the Akatsuki man would take more bodies which resulted in Kakashi and Guy being absent from Sasuke fights.
Hinata continued to watch as everyone engaged with the three remaining members of Sasuke's team and the Akatsuki man. She never once forgot that the partner for the Akatsuki member was missing. When the opportunity of Guy and Kakashi becoming distracted became available she took that opportunity to disappear in the shadows in the top of the trees.
She'd rather just watch the shit show of battles. Watch how both Uchiha and Uzumaki weakened themselves to the point of passing out. Sasuke would say dark, hurtful words that Naruto would somehow twist into something positive or roll it off his shoulders. Hinata was sure Sasuke meant nothing he was saying, and she knew Naruto knew that.
She watched how the female Uzumaki, Karin was just this MASSIVE ball of chakra, it seemed she never emptied. To make matters more interesting she was a make shift healer as well. She wasn't a weak opponent, in Hinata's opinion she just lacked ninja training in some areas. Still, she made up for it with that fire personality and that historical Uzumaki chakra reserve.
Suigetsu was interesting to observe. Since traveling with Sasuke the amount of times Suigetsu had been serious was maybe 20%. He took little to nothing serious and thought killing people was something to do as hobby. However, seeing him handle three skilled shinobi like Neji, Sai and Lee was an eye opener for her. She didn't think him weak, but she didn't think him capable of being serious enough to be a match for these three.
She almost felt as if the trio, especially her cousin, was holding off incase more unexpected events were to happen.
Hinata frowned at this. Neji was starting to pick up on her tactics so well. He knew she was up to something.
Naruto gave Sasuke a sort of 'tough love' type of fight. She wondered if it was on a personal level beyond friendship or not. Honestly, that would explain the insane fixation, and whether Sasuke wanted to admit it or not, he possessed the same fixation towards Naruto.
The thought of Naruto ever becoming stronger than Sasuke just grinded his gears to no end it seemed like. Especially when Naruto becoming stronger meant Sasuke was more than likely going to be dragged back to the village before achieving his 'goal' of vengeance.
It wasn't that Sasuke didn't want the life he had before. Hinata watched him in the shadows when no one was around during her reconnaissance, she knew what Sasuke WANTED. He just wasn't ready. He had to avenge his family.
There was an uncharacteristic LOUD noise that just kept getting louder and brighter. The direction the sound and light was coming from was hot and she created a great distance from it unlike the people engaging in battle. That was the indication that the man identified as Deidara made a suicidal move to kill everyone in the proximity.
After the massive explosion and once the dust started to lift Hinata activated her Byakugan to help aid her to see if there were any unresponsive bodies.
Already concluding in her mind that everyone volunteered for DNR if she was ever asked.
The Akatsuki man was dead. What a way to go. It was really a work of art.
The red head Uzumaki was unconscious, Sakura and Tenten seemed to be faring well. Sakura immediately attending to an injured Tenten.
Neji was fine, aiding Lee in standing. The swordsman Suigetsu seemed to have taken the blast just fine as well, she wasn't really surprised. The guy was insane in many ways.
Kakashi and Guy were fine as well, no surprise from those two. Off in the distance of everyone she saw Sai looking in the tree line at her, almost telling her not to go through with her plans. Would he stop her? She didn't believe he had the strength in him to stop her without dying himself.
Everyone was injured from the fights. She helped no one and now at this point no one could stop her. Everything couldn't get any smoother than this.
The two that pushed themselves to their limits, Naruto and Sasuke, seemed to be struggling to get up. Sasuke beyond furious.
"Get out of my fucking way!"
Sasuke seemed to be mumbling to himself but Naruto heard him and pushed him further into the ground. "Just stand down you idiot! You're hurt!"
If Sasuke had the power to kill someone with his looks he surely would have done it by now to Naruto. "You're the fucking idiot! You're blocking me from that murderer! Her and Itachi are murderers!"
Naruto's eyes widened and he just stared at Sasuke for a minute, "What?"
Sasuke never got to say anything else as a short spear like metal dagger came piercing him in the chest. Just above his heart. Sasuke immediately cringed in pain and doubled over. His eyes widened and he and Naruto head snapped to the direction of the attack. It came from the very top of the trees going into the forest.
"Sasuke! No!"
Sakura wobbled to stand up but once she got her balance she started to wobbled-run towards her teammates. Clearly showing she was more hurt than it looked like.
Hinata jumped from the trees and it looked like she was falling to the ground in slow motion. She looked over at Naruto and Sasuke the whole time while descending down. Once she made it down she paused and looked at the two for a moment. She had to be about 300 yards away from them and sprinted to the two faster than Sakura and was upon them within seconds.
"I missed my target. Uzumaki, you made me miss."
Sasuke stared at her for a moment, darkness mixed with anger clearly won him over as he snarled at her and went to pull the spear out of him. He was stopped when Hinata's foot came and pushed the spear in deeper thus knocking him on his back hissing in pain.
"Hinata! What the hell are you doing." Naruto was clearly too weak to stand at the moment, but Hinata knew if she hesitated too much longer Naruto would surely find the strength and be able to stop her.
She said nothing for a moment and lifted her hand for Sasuke to see it. His eyes widened as memories and realization was hitting him. "I'm doing my mission."
She did a test run to see if he responded and just like Jugo blood started to come from Sasuke's mouth. Sasuke being on his back he made a gargling sound. When she saw she made connection she went to finish him.
Just to be caught off guard by an orange masked man with disheveled hair gripping a kunai to her neck. "My my, you are not a nice person at all. I see whoever sent you wanted a blood bath on their hands. I've been watching you and I'll say you are worthy to call an assassin."
Hinata said nothing and kept her focus on the soon to be dead Uchiha, "You can kill me all you want. It will not stop me from killing him in the process." To finish her task her fingers began moving again and the masked man just clamped his fingers over hers and Hinata was sure she heard her bone pop out of place in her hand.
A clone of Hinata's appeared behind Naruto, who was on the ground beside Sasuke, and looked at the masked man. The clone reserved for finding Itachi came to aid. She looked down at Sasuke's bloodied body and then back to the masked man. Who the hell was this man? He grew more serious from his previous behaviors.
The masked man actually giggled at this, "You kill Sasuke and I'll slit the guy that has the same eyes as you throat. I am sure he is of some importance to you. Remember, I've been watching you too."
She paused, if only for a moment, but that was all that was needed. From her peripheral vision she saw Neji in the same predicament her original form was in. The unknown man had a kunai against Neji's neck, and it seemed that her plan of having everyone too weak to stop her came to bite her in the ass. For they were too weak to help themselves.
Hinata's clone looked at the masked man indifferent, "I don't care."
"So you want to tempt me?"
The two once again stared off at one another. Both holding trump cards.
Naruto looked between the two and became enraged at Hinata really playing Roulette with everyone's lives. "Hinata!"
Finally Hinata's patience thinned out and she bared her teeth towards Naruto, "SHUT UP. This is your fault. You just couldn't finish Uchiha off yourself. You just had to feel like he was worth SAVING."
Her attention than turned back to the masked man, "You let the Hyuga go first."
The man giggled again and Hinata was beginning to hate the sound, "Not happening…both at the same time."
They looked at each other a little longer, it seemed they were mentally counting between one another because at the same time the clone dropped the kunai from against Neji's neck and puffed away, but not before collecting the two other Hebi team members to take with it. At the same time Hinata released her wires against Sasuke.
The masked man nodded his head in her direction, "I will be seeing you around Hyugaaa."
With that the masked man and the injured Sasuke warped out of site.
