Ernie's Burden
Among the shattered quartet, Ernie bore an additional weight – the life growing within him, a product of the unspeakable violation he had endured. As his body betrayed him, his once-vibrant spirit began to dim, the joy of new life overshadowed by the ever-present specter of the torment he had suffered.
Ernie's hands trembled as he cradled his belly, his eyes filled with a mixture of awe and trepidation. This child, this precious life, was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, but it was also a constant reminder of the unimaginable cruelty that had been inflicted upon him.
As the weeks turned into months, Ernie's connection to his unborn child deepened, but so too did the shadows that haunted his mind. The trauma he had endured refused to be silenced, and he found himself constantly on edge, his every waking moment consumed by the lingering echoes of the Cruciatus curse.
The other three soulmates watched helplessly as Ernie withdrew, his once-vibrant personality fading behind a veil of paranoia and fear. They longed to provide him comfort, to shield him from the demons that tormented him, but the scars they bore were too deep, their own minds too fractured to offer the solace he so desperately needed.
And so, Ernie faced his impending motherhood alone, his child a beacon of hope in the endless darkness that had enveloped his world.
