Part 4

Gunray's dragon lizard sniffed here and there, trying to find Rune's scent, his rider riding on his back, when he stop at a certain point.

"What is it boy? Did you catch his scent?" Gunray asked his mount, the dragon lizard nodding his head, letting out a anime Palkia bark. "Lead the way."

When he starting moving again, Gunray thought to himself, as they headed to Rune's location. I hope I'm not too late.

When they finally got to Coranth, Gunray climbed off his mount. "Thank you for getting me here, I let you know when we need to leave this area." He began to walk away from his dragon lizard.

Gunray walked for miles, until he spotted his brother inside a cage made out of some kind of animal bone that he didn't recognized. "Rune."

Rune slowly looked up at whoever was calling his name, he saw his brother standing in front of him.

"Rune, who put you in that cage? Hang on I'll get you out of there."

Gunray picked up a rock, inserting it into a crevice of a bone and began to work it loose.

When he finally managed to get it open, he went inside of the cage and lead his brother out by the hand.

"Gunray, how did you know I was here." Rune asked him.

"Didn't you send me a message to come here."

"No, Vader took my comm unit from me, before I could grabbed a hold of it."

Rune suddenly felt himself losing his grip on his brother's hand. Try as he might, Gunray held onto advisor, Rune was slammed hard into the shut door of the cage he was in. Gunray's eyes went wide with shock at what just happened.

"Gunray! Run!" Rune was struggling to get his words out.

"I'm not leaving here without you."

"I better do what he says." said Vader, as he walked into the former Neimoidian viceroy's line of sight.

"You!" snarled Gunray. "It's me you want, right? Leave my brother out of this."

"Hmm.. No, I don't think I will, you two have" eluded me for the last time." Vader pulled his lightsaber off of his belt, turning it on, before he could plunge it into Gunray, he dodged out of the way, grabbing a handle of a bone to defend himself with. Both of their weapons clashing back and forth.

Before Vader could land the final blow, Rune got in the way, getting stab in the right side of his chest.

As Gunray watched this happen, a surge of rage and anger, using it to fuel his attacks, managing to nick in some damage and driving off the Sith Lord.

The former Neimoidian viceroy gently picked up his brother in his arms, cradling him close to his chest, whistling for his dragon lizard. The mounted best moved towards them, letting his master climb aboard him and heading out of Coranth as fast as he could, to Pau City, then back to his ship.

Gunray set his ship on auto pilot, after placing Rune on a bed, putting in the coordinates to Bespin, to get his brother some medical help.

"Gunray... I'm not going to make it." said Rune, his voice breaking his brother from his train of thought.

"Don't say that Rune, hang in there." Even though, he tried to encourage his brother to stay strong. He could feel the pit of despair dwindling his hope.

He got up from his seat next to the controls, walking over to the bed, picking up Rune again in his arms cradling his brother close to his chest, as he climb on it, taking up the empty spot.

"Rune."

"Yes, my dear brother?"

"Can you forgive me?"

"What for?"

"For getting us in this situation. If I hadn't gone to Dooku all those years ago-" before Gunray could continue, Rune weakly placed his hand to the former viceroy's lips, hushing him. "Gunray, you didn't know he was a Sith Lord. I do have one final piece of advice to give you."

"You do? What is it?" said Gunray, as he ready himself to what his brother had to say.

"You can't fix the past, only live for the future."

"I'll try, my dear brother, for you."

They remain silent during the remainer of their trip, Gunray watched over Rune as they spent his final moments together, as he laid peacefully in his brother's arms, his life essences dripping onto the bed.

As the last drop of blood left his body, Gunray felt Rune take his last breath, tears welled up in the former viceroy eyes, as he sat there devastated after the wake of his brother's departure from this plane of existence, his presence gone forever. He kissed the top of his advisor's head, cold to the touch, as a final goodbye, showing his brotherly love for him, one last time. Gunray buried his face into Rune's lifeless chest, not caring that whatever blood was left cake his skin, letting the racks of sorrow consume him, griefing over his loss.
