Story Start!

"Okay, it isn't raining... it took long enough."

It was go time.

"Captain, I should go with you 3." Kohta pleaded as he looked right at Naruto's injured arm, which was currently put in a sling made out of a ripped up shirt. He was down an arm, but he was still their leader. If he went down, then they would quickly divolve into chaos amongst themselves. He knew himself, and he didn't have what it took to be a leader. He was a soldier, a follower, by his very nature. He wanted to do everything he could to make sure that Naruto stayed alive, because Naruto being alive was their key to as many of them surviving as possible.

Naruto allowed Rei to climb up his back and use his shoulders to reach the open window, so that she could climb out of the RV. He looked at Kohta, and reached out with his good hand, and just rubbed the top of his head.

"I'm the leader, I lead by example. Saeko, you ready?" Naruto asked the swordswoman, and she finished trying up her boots. She nodded her head and grabbed her sheathed katana, before she made her way to Naruto. She climbed up onto his shoulders and made her way out of the RV the same as Rei. "Kohta, protect Alice and Shizuka, and Asami, protect Kohta." Naruto looked towards everyone.

Those were his orders, so Kohta backed off and nodded his head.

'You're injured... you should let me take your place. You're way more useful not risking yourself.' Kohta obeyed the orders, but he didn't watch as Naruto used a hand and jumped up to grab the window above him. He pulled himself up with an arm, and Saeko grabbed the back of his shirt to help him get out of the window. With his wider shoulders it wasn't an easy fit for him to force his way through the window with one arm.

It took a few moments, but the trio was out of the RV.

The Undead Boar was nowhere to be seen, but it was nearby, the sense of danger in the air was palpable. Without the rain to mask minor sounds, talking outside of the RV might alert it right to where they were the second they talked. If they jumped off the RV, even that sound of their feet hitting the road would alert it to where they were before they were ready.

So they had to climb down the side of the RV to softly touch down on the road.

Naruto pointed to 20 meters away from the RV, because if they were going to battle the zombie, then it was best to not risk the RV getting anymore damaged than it already was. Naruto looked at the underside of the RV, and he sighed in annoyance at the damage done to the it. They started to walk towards where the battle would take place.

Naruto hissed in annoyance, and that drew the girl's attention.

The trailer's hook was completely destroyed, meaning they would have to abandon all of the supplies in the trailer that weren't of the most vital importance. Saeko winced when she saw what was wrong, and Rei wasn't in a much better mood about it. The RV itself could still be used, but the trailer wouldn't be coming with them anymore.

"So... what do we do?" Rei asked.

Naruto hadn't told them the exact details beforehand.

"We attract it to us, and we try and kill it if we can. If we can't, we lead it as far away from the RV as possible and escape it." Naruto wanted to be realistic in his expectations. "Saeko and me will play distraction, Rei, it's skull and neck are too protected for us to kill it, so you need to get your spear into it's brain through it's eye." Naruto didn't have a complicated battle plan either.

Their enemy wasn't some genius thinker.

It was a wild animal, and it was even dumber than a wild animal because it was undead. It wasn't going to figure out their plans, and complicated ideas to take it down were just pointless in their current situation. They didn't have homefield advantage, and they couldn't lay a trap for it that would be capable of holding it.

They kept walking until they were a safe distance away from the RV.

The trailer was fucked, but if the RV was destroyed, then they would be screwed beyond belief until they could find something to replace it. Rei went to Naruto's right side, and Saeko stood behind Naruto, and both girls were getting ready for a fight. The tension was hard to bare for everyone.

"HOOOOOOOOI!" Naruto shouted out at the top of his lungs.

In the near distance, in the shadows of the forest, there was that same demonic animal shriek. The bellowing creature's call caused even Naruto to flinch. It was completely unnatural in it's sound. It's charge through the forest sounded thundering, and it didn't even take a minute before it burst out of the tree line and charged right at them.

'Oh crap, that is what it looks like!? It's huge, and terrifying!' Rei felt an immense fear when she looked at this creature. It really was as big as a car, and it was so deformed from what it originally was. Saeko unsheathed her katana and took it in her hands, tossing her sheath to the side. The creature was locked in on them now, so there was no turning back.

The sheath hitting the ground distracted it for a moment, and that moment stopped it's charge towards them.

"Lets go." Naruto called out when Saeko took a step, and it turned to face her. When he called out, it turned to face him instead and charged at him. He ran away from the two girls, and rolled across the ground, jumping out of the way. 'Shit, it's faster than I thought it would be... that thing just ran at me close to 70 kilometers a hour...' Naruto had managed to dodge and roll back to his feet as the creature turned around in it's charge.

Saeko looked down at her father's katana, gripped her hands tighter around it. The sound of her boots on the ground changed the creature's target towards her.

"Rei, let us know when you're ready to attack!" Saeko's sword gave off sparks when she jumped out of the way while slashing at it's neck. With luck, she might have chopped it's head off, but Naruto had been right. The rocks lodged in it's mud and blood covered neck made it's body just too tough for her to cut into.

Rei nodded her head as the boar started around.

'It's fast... if I mess up, I might not get another chance.' Rei lowered herself and kept silent. She had to watch the creature run, and see if she could get herself ready for the attack. Naruto gave a loud yell and attracted the creature away from Saeko, and towards him as she started to get back up from her own failed attack on it.

It's sound location was even better than a normal zombie, so the second they made any noise at all, it knew their exact location. It was so fast, and it could reach it's top speed so quickly, that in a mere second or two, Naruto went from yelling to attracting it, to dodging it by rolling across the ground. The boar skid to a halt and turned around to chase him down, but Saeko was on the move and ran far away from Naruto.

Her loud boots caused it to charge at her next.

She jumped and landed on her stomach, and just barely managed to avoid it. Pressure was taken off of her when Naruto shouted and got it to face him again, and she got back to her feet as Naruto rolled out of the way of another attack. The boar's tusks came within a foot of piercing him. She was back on her feet, and started to run, making enough noise to draw it towards her.

"Rei!" Saeko shouted only a name as her statement.

Rei shook her head.

'I'm not ready yet, I still haven't gotten used to how fast it is.' Rei's head shake told Saeko what she needed to know. She nodded her head and kept running, and as Naruto got to his feet, she slid underneath the boar's body as it passed over her. She didn't have enough time to jump out of the way, so she made a risky dodge. She managed to swipe her katana at one of it's legs, and cut it off short.

The beast slowed down slightly as one of it's 4 legs was made shorter than it was before, causing it's run to be uneven.

"Rei!?" Naruto asked, and the boar charged at him.

He didn't have a sword, but he had a fist. Just so that he didn't fuck up both of his arms, he used his injured arm when he dodged and grabbed onto the boar's back leg. He was jerked across the ground, but the unstable boar also stumbled and flipped onto it's side. The tripped boar got back to it's feet just as Rei lunged at it and sunk her spear in it's shoulder.

"Aaaah!" Rei was flung through the air when she let go of her spear at the boar standing up with her hanging onto the spear in it's shoulder. Naruto scrambled to his feet and rushed as quick as he could to catch Rei. The boar was already in motion and chasing down her scream, so Naruto grabbed the spear with his good hand and caught Rei. The boar jerked and bucked, with both of them being tossed around in the air, with the spear firmly lodged into it's body.

It couldn't reach them with it's mouth.

"Saeko, a hand please!" Rei shouted out to Saeko.

The plan to spear it's eye was failing.

Naruto and Rei slammed into the ground once, twice, three times quickly as the boar tried to get to them, but they Naruto held onto the spear with all the might he could manage. He didn't allow himself or Rei to get within the creature's biting range. It just kept bucking and doing anything it could to try and reach them, obsessed with devouring both of them.

"What should I do!?" Saeko asked Naruto.

Rei was slammed onto her back with Naruto's face slamming on the road. At this point, the creature was locked in on the two who were dangling in front of it, not so easily distracted anymore from them. The plan to spear it's brain was a total failure. Saeko swung her sword, but even when it cut into it's flesh, the boar didn't reach to her. She couldn't get close enough to it's head to make an attack without risking getting speared by the tusks.

She stepped back quickly when it's hindlegs lashed out, while it continued to try and get to those hanging from the spear in it.

'Plan... I can't hold onto us for much longer.' Naruto's left eye was forced closed from the blood covering it. He couldn't even wipe the blood from his face, not while both of his arms were being used. Rei was out of breath, the hit to her back had knocked the air out of her, so she didn't even have the strength to hold on. "Saeko, get back to the RV!"

"No, I can help!"

"Saeko! GET THE FUCK BACK IN THE RV!" Naruto threw Rei right at Saeko, and she dropped her katana to catch the breathless woman. With his hand free, Naruto wiped the blood from his face, and grabbed onto the spear with both hands. She was frozen in place as she watched Naruto step on the boar's tusk, and yank the spear out. Just as quickly as he yanked it, Naruto speared the boar in the eye and pulled his leg off of the creature.

It struggled.

It fell to it's side.

Naruto fell off the spear and onto the ground in front of the dead boar, the adrenaline rush from his anger wearing off quickly, and his injuries catching up to him.

"Naruto-"

"Get... onto the fucking... RV... might be more zombies nearby. Just leave me here to recover, I'll join you guys soon." Naruto hissed, out of breath, and still a little angry from the failed plan and near-death moment. He didn't have the patience for it, and when Saeko got to his side, and Rei recovered her breath.

"Ah... my back." Rei tried to stand, but collapsed forward and held onto her back.

"Get Rei onto the RV Saeko, I'll be fine if I stay quiet and just rest a bit. Get. On. The. RV. I'm not asking... you can't protect me and Rei at the same time, neither of us can move right now." Naruto groaned in agony. Saeko reached out towards him, but changed targets to Rei and helped the girl stand up assisted. She nodded to Naruto, and he watched as Saeko got Rei to the RV, and the others on the RV helped Rei to get inside.

Saeko then returned to Naruto's side.

"I told you-"

"I'm ignoring your orders, you need me right now. There might be zombies, but there might also be bears nearby. If you stay quiet, the zombies will leave you alone, but the bears will not." Saeko sat down next to him. With Rei back on the RV, Saeko had no reason to obey his order fully to leave him by himself.

"You won't leave my side."

"I would rather die."

"Fine then." Naruto couldn't stop the quick chuckle.

Ow.

Chuckling hurt.
