Everyone was gathered in the center of the abandoned village.

"Okay, so I sent Kurama to Hiashi and Takashi, and I think we have about 2 weeks until they arrive. We aren't going to be here for that part though." Naruto explained as he looked at the gathered women ahead of him. He waited a moment for any of them to speak up and ask a question, but looking into their eyes he could see they were waiting for him to continue talking. "We are going to stay here for about a week though, we're going to clear away some of the trash and burn it in the center of the village. Also, I want to keep track of how many zombies enter the village in a week, so I can leave some notes for them when they get here." Naruto stated as handed Saya a piece of paper.

"Why are you handing me this?" Saya asked.

"You aren't very athletic, so I want you to record how many zombies on average enter the village every day. Keep track of any animals you see." Naruto gave her a task to do for the week, the entire week. He wanted all the athletic people to be focused on taking care of the harder worker, though he was sure it would mostly be him moving the extremely heavy stuff.

"I'm not athletic, what do you want me to do!" Shizuka raised her hand with glowing eyes.

She would take the chance to escape harsh physical work if she could.

"You are cleaning. Take a towel and any cleaning chemicals you can find, and clean the insides of all the homes you can find. You don't have to get them ALL done by the end of the week, but the less the others have to do when they get here, the better... take Alice with you." Naruto looked down at Alice and rubbed the top of her head. She smiled at him.

"Okay~!"

"Everyone else, with me." Naruto started to walk off, and gestured for Rei, Saeko, and Rika to follow him since they were going to get started working with their bodies.

-That Late Afternoon-

"Ooooooh... I'm sore." Rei complained as she rubbed both of her inner thighs in pain.

She was sitting front of a giant bonfire in the middle of the village, a bonfire that was made using broken furniture and everything they could find during the time they were working. She wasn't the only one who had worked up a sweat and was sore, because Rika was laying on the ground with her breath coming out roughly.

"That was rough."

Saeko agreed with them, she wasn't quite as sore, but even she was feeling soreness in her body. Naruto was still working, but none of them could keep up with him when it came to just raw physical work. When he started to get sweaty, he took his shirt off, wiped his sweat, and just kept working like the beast that he was. Even now, they saw Naruto dragging a broken couch outside of a house and towards the bonfire.

"Eye candy is nice though." Rika said with a slow lick of her lips.

Rei glared at her, opened her mouth, before she shut it and instead focused on watching Naruto as well. She relented on a little of her anger.

'I guess looking isn't so bad.' Rei sighed, before she saw Naruto going towards the building he just came out of. Alice and Shizuka were doing light work, so they were actually still working as well. She looked towards Saeko, and noticed the girl was her inner thighs the same as her. The two girls made eye contact, before they looked away from each other. 'Right, I guess we're love rivals now... I guess. She's clearly after Naruto too.' Rei glanced back towards Saeko.

"Zombie!"

"On it." Saeko stood up grabbed her katana off the ground, before she looked to where Saya was pointing. Saya had been sitting on top of an abandoned house, with a telescope they found in one of the houses. That had been her place, and she hadn't been expected to do any harsh work. Still, whenever she saw a zombie, she called it out, and that was important work.

-The Next Afternoon-

'So... yesterday 3 zombies got into the village, Saeko took care of all of them, but there are zombies nearby at times. 1 zombie got into the village when we were all sleeping in the RV. This morning no zombies got into the village, which is good, but 2 of them wandered in this afternoon so far.' Saya was going over the numbers of zombies. She looked out over the wheat field with the telescope, and watched out for any animals that were going for the wheat.

Spring Wheat.

This village had been abandoned very recently, VERY recently, most likely due to zombies infecting everyone in the village. They had already planted the spring wheat and rice, which was amazing for them, sad the people who planted it will never taste it, but still amazing that they found a wheat field and a rice field.

"Boar! Boar in the wheat field!" Saya called out to Naruto specifically this time.

Sometimes animals would wander into the crops and try to eat them, and while Saya could take down a zombie easily, wild animals were a lot harder for her to take down. The second an animal got too large for her, it was up to Naruto to take it down. Just like now, Naruto dropped the chair he was carrying and started to run towards the wheat field without hesitation.

Boar was meat.

Meat was food.

-That Night-

"Boar tastes gross." Alice complained as she stuck her tongue out.

"It would be better with some spices." Rei agreed under her breath, but she didn't want to say it too loud and insult Naruto.

"Spices wouldn't fix this, boar meat is hard to eat, tastes nasty, and is super smelly. It isn't like bear meat, where you can soak it in milk to get rid of the smell and make it taste better." Naruto wasn't offended that they didn't like eating the boar he killed. It was better to eat as much of the boar as they could, but that was because not eating the meat ran the risk of attracting more animals to the smell of the meat.

'Disgusting.' Saeko did not voice that out loud, even if Naruto wasn't going to get offended.

It was disrespectful to the boar that was killed and eaten to say it out loud after all.

-The Next Morning-

"No zombies so far." Saya walked with Rika through the village, recording if any zombies had gotten in during the night while they were sleeping. "One zombie is on the way though." Saya noted when she looked out into the distance and saw a zombie walking in the direction of the village, but it was only one, and it wasn't targetting them.

It was just walking aimlessly until it heard the sound of something, and went after it.

"I can take it out from here." Rika pointed out as she aimed her rifle at it.

She lowered it with a smirk, knowing that she could take out the zombie from this distance easily.

"Don't."

"I'm not going to, waste of ammo. I'll let the sword girl do it when it gets closer, but I totally could kill it from here, just saying." Rika stated with full confidence in herself. "So, you and Naruto fuck yet. I saw you grabbing condoms the other day." Rika asked with a grin.

Saya rolled her eyes.

"Don't be retarded, I grabbed those condoms for you all to use with him. I didn't grab them so I could use them." Saya replied quickly with a snap. She was slightly interested in Naruto, but honestly, that was only because he was starting to grow on her as a leader. He was showing he was competent, and now he listened to them at times.

It helped that he was the only guy in the group at this point.

"So, these Hyuga guys, they handsome?" Rika asked.

"There aren't a lot of them, but yeah, I would say they are pretty handsome." Saya was glad that Rika changed the subject, and yeah, she would agree that the men she saw of the Hyuga family were rather handsome. Still, they were a bit on the older side, with the youngest able bodied Hyuga man being close to 29 years old.

She was only 16 years old.

Naruto was 20, and while him being 20 meant there was an age gap between them, honestly a 4 year gap wasn't that big of a deal. So it was easier for her to connect with him than it was with a man who was almost twice her age.

Still, they were very handsome older men.

"Good, good." Rika stated, and she stopped and looked out in the distance. "That a zombie?" Rika pointed out in the distance. Saya took the telescope and looked into the distance where Rika was pointing.

It was a tall, thin figure.

"What is that?" Saya asked as she took her eyes off the telescope, and looked into the distance where she could see something tall and dark at the edge of the woods. She looked through the telescope and looked in the direction of the thing. She kept switching between her eyes and the telescope until she got a more exact location and got a view of it through the telescope. "What IS that?" Saya whispered when she finally got a view of it.

It was skinny and dark.

It was humanoid, but it's features were blurry because it had a blackish body. She would guess it was between 5'10" and 6'6" in height. She wasn't very good at judging height, and there was nothing nearby the creature but trees to judge it's height based on. It was humanoid, but kind of not humanoid at the same time. It walked around aimlessly like a zombie, but it wasn't grey in the skin, and it didn't have any visible pieces of it's body missing.

She passed the telescope to Rika, but Rika looked through the scope of her rifle instead.

"Oh... oh hell no, that thing looks terrifying." Rika got a good look at it too.

It's arms and legs were barely thicker than the bones in it's body, it looked like a charred figure that was literally tight skin and bones, without hair on it's body. Something that skinny was normally not scary to look at, but with how it was shambling like a zombie, the chance of it being a mutant zombie was highly likely.

Rika took aim and fired.

She missed the head, but still got a kill because her bullet hit it in the neck with enough force to cut the head off. The neck was so thin that the bullet pretty much acted like a sword when it hit the spine. The body collapsed.

The zombie Saya pointed out earlier started running their direction the second she fired.

Her firing her rifle also alerted everyone else something happened, and it wasn't long because the others joined them.,

"What happened!?" Saeko got to them first.

"Everyone okay?" Rei approached with Naruto, who was silent as he noticed Rika was staring off into the distance, ignoring the zombie running at them. He raised an eyebrow at her and got to her side, before he looked through the scope of her gun.

"What is that?" Naruto whispered.

-Later-

"What is this?" Naruto stated as he stood at the edge of the forest with Saeko.

"Zombie." Saeko pointed out.

Her statement was almost a question.

"Yeah, a zombie... but it's body is so tough." Naruto stated as he touched the body, and the skin was hardened. It was like a rock, the muscles had shrunk and hardened over the bone, and the skin had darkened due to the zombie's blood hardening under the surface of the skin as well. The skin wrapped the body so tightly as well that the zombie no longer had lips, instead all of it's teeth were fully displayed on the severed head. "A Mutant..." Naruto stated as he figured out what he was looking at.

"Why?" Saeko asked.

Why would a zombie mutate into this?

"Tighter muscles, more explosive speed and strength. It's skinny, but I'll bet this thing can run close to 80 or 90 kilometers... maybe more. It also smells... burnt. It smells like it was on fire at some point." Naruto stated as he sniffed the severed head.

"No way, zombies don't survive being set on fire for long, I've seen it." Saeko stated with a frown.

"Yeah, they don't... this zombie's parasites... maybe they evolved while on fire... maybe, and caused... this. It's body is rock solid, but not so durable that a bullet can't kill it." Naruto slammed the head into the ground.

Nothing.

Naruto slammed the head against the ground a second time, and this time the skull shattered under his grip, showing that unlike most zombies that couldn't even take one hit from him without breaking, this zombie skull managed to take two of his full force slams into the ground before shattering. Saeko nodded her head and followed his example, she unsheathed her sword and swung it down at the zombie's corpse.

She managed to cut through the muscle.

Not the bone.

"Blades aren't as effective... think there are more of these out there?" Saeko asked Naruto.

"Yeah, most likely. If the same conditions happen that caused this zombie to evolve. We don't know those conditions for sure... and it's possible when a zombie evolves, if it bites somebody, that person will inherit the mutation." Naruto didn't know if that would be what happened. If this zombie had bitten anyone, it was possible that there were more zombies like this running around.

"So..."

"So, if you see a zombie like this, you let me take care of it, or Rika shoots it from a distance. You and Rei aren't allowed to fight these zombies." Naruto stated a firm order. A zombie like this would devastate Saeko or Rei in close combat, no doubt having so much speed, power, and durability that neither girl would realistically be able to stop it from getting to them.

He was sure he could handle it.

It was also not immune to bullets.

"I do have a gun." Saeko placed her hand at her waist.

"Yeah, but you're not a good shot. So, if you see one of these, you stay quiet and try to retreat. Rika made the right choice by killing it, but since she killed it, we have no idea how fast or strong this thing really is. We can only guess." Naruto didn't want to take chances. He was thankful that Rika was fast acting in shooting the zombie, but her shooting it so quickly also meant they couldn't gather any information about how fast it was, or even how strong it was.

Saeko was not good with a gun.

"So, what now?" Saeko asked.

"We continue cleaning out the village for he rest of the week, and we take note of this and leave it for Hiashi. Let him know that if he ever sees a zombie like this, they need to hide in the houses and stay quiet until it shambles it's way out of the village... or have Kohta and Asami shoot it... have Kohta shoot it." Naruto changed his mind.

Asami wasn't the best shot either now that he thought about it.

Better leave shooting things from a distance to Kohta after all.
