The normal bustling crowds at the Hargeon Port met the duo as they entered the town, squishing in between people talking amongst themselves going their separate ways. Lucy huffs, her hands on her knees to try and regain her composure, beside her is also a similar Natsu, beads of sweat falling down from his face. Aira and Happy are only in front of them just watching both of their friends.
"I won, flamehead." Lucy rasps. "I get to decide how we're going."
Natsu takes a deep breath one more time and sits up, "What are we going to use?"
"A boat."
"No!" Natsu says quickly, too quick, "Can we fly instead? Happy? Aira?"
Both cats shake their heads, "It's too far. The boat is a much better option."
"But!"
"No buts, Natsu!" Lucy says, "Either I drag you out there or I'll knock you out, choose."
Natsu doesn't say anything, and just lets out a sigh. Lucy sees it as a sign to go ask people around the port if they can take them to the island.
"What? A job sheet's missing?" Wakaba says.
"If it was on the second floor then it's an S class quest."
"Who's dumb enough to steal an S-Class Quest?"
"A cat." Laxus starts, putting his feet on the table. "A cat with wings came to tear one off."
"Happy did?" Mirajane says, her mouth open.
"Then that means Natsu and Lucy!"
"Are they even thinking?!"
Alzack huffs, "Going out on an S Class without permission?"
"I know they are always dumb but not that dumb."
Laxus smirks, expecting these reactions already. "This is a serious violation of rules." He lets out a laugh, "If they do come back they're going to be expelled, right old man?"
The blond laughs again, "But measuring their skills, I don't think they're coming back, will they?"
Makarov only closes his eyes, not saying anything or else his nerves will get the best of him.
An angry Mirajane goes up to the second floor, "If you knew, why didn't you try to stop them?"
Laxus shrugs, "I only saw a cat tearing a piece of paper on the board. I didn't know that was actually Happy. And I didn't know Natsu would actually run and go on an S class quest."
Mirajane only looks at him with a dark look on her face.
"It's been a while since I've seen you look at me that way."
"This is bad." Makarov says with his arms folded. "Which quest is missing?"
"The cursed island, Galuna." Mirajane replies.
"What?!"
"Galuna Island?!"
"Those stupid idiots?!"
"Laxus, bring them back." Makarov shouts.
The blond waves his hand as to dismiss the master. "You're kidding me. I have work to do."
He snickers, "Aren't the wizards in this guild supposed to be able to take care of themselves? Right?"
"Who other than you in here has the power to bring Natsu back by force?"
The ice mage who has been staying quiet on the side finally speaks, "it seems that you are forgetting me, gramps. I can't let that slide."
"Why do you plan to go to the island? It is a bad omen and we don't talk about that island here."
"No, we don't bring people to that island."
"Don't mention that place around this port! I don't even want to hear it."
The third man they went to just says, "I don't know any reason you want to go there but there isn't any ship to take you there. Even pirates avoid it."
"It's decided, we should just fly there with Happy and Aira!"
"That's not how that works!" Lucy shouts.
Someone appears behind them, "Found you!"
Natsu jolts, "Gray? What are you doing here?"
"Orders from Gramps to bring you back." Gray only replies.
"The jig's up already?!"
"If you go back now, you might even get away without being expelled."
"Expelled?" Lucy whispers.
"As if! I'm going on an S class quest!"
Gray's eyebrows furrowed, "As if you have enough strength to go there!" And in a split second, the color on his face drains, "If Erza finds out about this, you'll- "
"I'll handle Eza, and even the guild." Lucy proposes and the two men turn their heads to her direction.
"But you aren't in S class yet?" Gray inquires, "You are both going to be in trouble."
Lucy shakes her head, "I don't know if Gramps told you this but I was going to be an S Class before I went to training."
"Did you pass everything?"
"Yes." Lucy hums thinking, "I just didn't accept it yet."
"That doesn't count!" Gray yells, "We should go back now. You should've agreed to it first. We should still-"
Before he can continue, he passes out and Lucy leans his unconscious body to her.
"Lucy, what did you do?"
"I did the same thing I did to you yesterday." She says, "We can't let him ruin the quest, right?"
The sailor who was quietly watching finally says something, "Excuse me? Are you wizards?"
He continues, "Could you be here to lift the curse from that island?"
When both of them nod in reply, he makes a space on the boat. "Get on board!" He looks at the figure beside Lucy, "Are you going to take your unconscious friend with you?"
"We'll take him so he can't go back to the guild and tell them we went through with the quest." Natsu starts wincing, "And if he goes back, Erza will be coming next!"
After a few hours of sailing, the duo's sea sickness got worse.
Gray slowly opens his eyes, confusion running through his features until he realizes how his arms are constricted, "Why am I tied up?! Why did you start the boat?"
Natsu only ignores him and turns to the sailor, "Aren't we there yet?"
"We're almost there," The sailor answers, "But before that, I am Bobo. I was once a citizen of that island. I ran away from that curse isle. If you go there, a grave misfortune will befall on you. Are you sure you can lift the curse on that island? The demon island."
He lifts his arm that he is hiding under his cloak, and Lucy gapes a bit at the sight, It was just like Mira's but at the same time it feels different.
"Mister, your arm." Gray says.
"The curse, you don't mean.."
The sailor doesn't say anything but only stares ahead, "You can see it now, that's Galuna Island."
Lucy squints, "What's that? There's something shining on the peak of the mountain."
And when she turned around, "Huh? Where did the man go? Did he fall overboard?"
"He disappeared when we weren't looking."
Aira starts, "Do you think he was a lost soul from the Island?"
Gray flinches, "Don't even start. Souls can't just steer boats and they just can't be seen by everyone."
"That is true," Lucy agrees, "Besides, when we were talking to him at the port, people weren't looking at us strangely as if we're talking to air."
"But we're in the middle of nowhere right now, in the middle of the night sea." Natsu says, "Where could he possibly go? Besides I haven't heard a splash of any water indicating something fell overboard."
Lucy only hums, but also thinks. The water is too quiet right now.
"Something is wrong." Lucy says out loud, "the water is too quiet."
Before the other two wizards can reply, a big shadow falls into them and so, they turn to look. Only to see a sea level so high it feels like a tsunami.
"Where did this come from?"
"Out of nowhere?"
Before they could try to get away, the turbulent waters washed them away.
After almost 5 years, I got to pick up this fic again because I saw an Aquarius multo edit, and this one is probably so old already that no one's reading it anymore /3 I will try to keep this updated, but I have lost my file where I put everyone's lore and plots so I have to think about this once again. I sure hope these years that passed had made me better at writing because life kicks you in the butt in multiple ways and you can only improve. :)
