The thirteenth doctor was alone, and quite, well..bored. So she decided to go to the one spot she could think, about everything.. The place where she and..her wife..River, used to sit and watch the stars, talking about nonsense for hours. it was one of her favorite memories with River...one of the last. But she didn't need to think like that..she has moved on..'i haven't though. i still love her..and frankly, i always will..no matter what.' she thought, and sighed as the TARDIS landed. She slowly made her way to the doors, knowing once she steps out of these doors, she'll be in the place she used to be with her wife, but now she was wifeless.. She took a deep breath and opened the TARDIS's doors, and stepped outside, taking a whiff of the air, remembering all the good times..before..well, before River..died. She walked softly, feeling the grass beneath her bare feet, she loved it. She made her way to her and River's spot, sitting down, her feet hanging from the cliff, looking up at the stars.. 'if river were here she'd think that constellation there looks like a bowtie..' she chuckled at the thought, damn she missed her wife.. Someone sat beside her, but she didn't put much mind to it, her mind didn't register the fact that there weren't any people on this planet yet someone was beside her, but she was so used to sitting here with River that it didn't quite seem that strange. "that constellation there looks awfully lot like a bowtie, does it not?" the person asked, they had a cloak, but it was weird how they said that when the doctor had exactly now just thought about how River would say exactly that. "If my wife were here she'd say the same" The Doctor answered, stealing a glance at the stranger (woman?), but couldn't make out their face, but something about them felt awfully familiar. "What's your name?" The stranger asked. "Jodie, yours?" The Doctor answered, not even realising she was making up a name, even though she didn't really need to. "Melody" The woman said, and The Doctor immediately thought of Melody Pond, but no, of course she couldn't be River, right..? She sighed "So why are you here? I've come to learn that people only travel here to get away from something or think, mostly the first one." Melody asked, and The Doctor pondered if she should tell her, but something about this woman said she could trust her. "Well, me and my wife used to come here all the time and watch the stars, name constellations stupid names, all that."
(River Song POV)
No way. was it really The Doctor? "What did you name that constellation?" She asked, pointing to a constellation her and The Doctor had named 'dalek-o', just to be sure it was really her husb- well, wife. "Dalek-o, it's after..an enemy of mine. Long story." 'Jodie' answered, and River took off her cloak, and blinked, looking into 'Jodie's' eyes. Oh god, how could she have not noticed before? itwasThe Doctor. "Doctor" River said, her eyes swelling up with tears.
(The Doctor's POV/ 3nd person)
The Doctor's mind stopped. River. Her wife. Her..melody. Her Pond. Her, well..everything. She blinked and couldn't help tearing up and hugging her wife "River..!" She mustered through her happy tears. But on the other side River didn't know she was dead do the doctor, River didn't know she had watched her die 3 regenerations ago.."It's alright. I've been to the library, i escaped. i hacked my time vortex and escaped. I'm here..no more spoilers.." River said as if she had read The Doctor's mind, and these words made The Doctor hug River even tighter, and her happy tears flow more so. "I love you, I know i don't say it enough, and i should have said it to you every second i could, but god, River, I love you. My Melody.." The Doctor said, pulling away from the hug. River just smiled "I love you too, Theta." She said, using The Doctor's real name. And then she kissed her. And god, it felt like fireworks. finally, River's lips against hers again, her body so close, her hair in The Doctor's fingers, her breath down her neck..oh how she loved River.. They pulled apart, and The Doctor couldn't help but smile.
(River's POV)
This was the widest i have ever seen the Doctor smile, and i mean ever. It was like now that we didn't have to hide anything, now that she knew i wasn't dead, she was finally truly happy. and it made me smile as well, i loved seeing her so happy after all. I took her hands in mine, and couldn't help admiring how small they were now, she was a woman now after all..my wife. Damn, it felt weird, even in my head "Wife." I said, i couldn't help it, it was weird, yet somehow..it felt so right on my tongue. The Doctor just smiled, and said "Melody." I hated when people called me that, yet whenshesaid it, it felt so..right. I don't know, but something about how she said it made my heart go crazy, and my insides feel weird. I guess this was how love really felt. Sure, i had other husbands and wives, many, actually, but no one compared toher. No oneever could, no matter what. Because the person I truly loved, and ever will love, was her. And only her.
