Potter Mansion
—
Harry was growing comfortable with his new surroundings, after 3 days of residing at the home of the American Potter Branch, he found it to be quite homely. It wasn't like the Manor where it was vast and open to the point where it's quite hard to find places if you didn't know the layout. The mansion was more compact, with rooms easily accessible and their purposes immediately understood. Such as the library, which you could enter on all three floors, and found at the very back wall, which had no other doors but the library's own.
On the topic of the Potter Mansion's library, Harry found that he spent a good portion of time inside of it. It was nowhere close to the size or amount of tomes, books or volumes as the Manor's library, but this library held items not even the manor held. In short, the American Potter Family's library held newer collections than the British Family. Thankfully Harry wasn't always alone when he explored the library, most times he was joined by the Heir, David Lucas Potter.
The boy was as you'd expect, confident, strong, intelligent, headstrong, and independent. David also showed great interest in growing the bond between the British and American Families, having constantly helped and talked to Harry whenever they were together. He, Harry, actually grew to see his fellow heir as a friend, yes he wouldn't allow David to lay his hands on him, but that didn't mean he couldn't be friends with the American Potter Heir.
When David was busy another would join him, and that was the matriarch of the household. Lady Emmeline Potter nee Malfoy, is just as someone would expect from a pure-blood noble born. She was elegant, beautiful, respectful and intelligent. The Lady would most times spend her time in the library sitting close by reading a book of her own, but when Harry needed help, she would do just that, give him simple and straightforward answers. But what surprised him the most was that she didn't treat him like garbage for being a half-blood.
When Harry asked her about this he was surprised to learn that the purebloods weren't as extreme as those in his homeland, China and many other places around the world. Yes they tried to keep the blood pure, to allow family magics to continue and to keep strong, and yes they might be anti-muggleborns, but the families outside of the United Kingdom, also knew that they were the future for all magical kinds. With more purebloods dying off or becoming squibs because of the inbreeding amongst families, the number of magical people able to carry on the family's magic was coming to an end. So the families decided to accept the muggle-borns into their circles, allowing them to find new noble families and take up positions of high status.
But that all happened in the last few days ago, and today was the day Lady Emmeline, and David go to Founding Village(America's version of Diagon Alley), and after the last few days here, familiarizing himself with the people around him, Harry took Lord William up on his offer to go with them. With them standing before the floo, was little Ellie, who has proven to be nothing more than a sweetheart since he met the daughter of the family, and Auntie Vicky who was coming along as 'security' in case something ill happened.
"You ready Heir Hadrian?" The calm voice of the Matriarch of the house said as she looked over to him. He nodded showing the Lady Potter that he was indeed ready. "Good, now before we get going, you must stay close to me or the Nudist. This might not be your homeland, but your name and story is still extremely popular in America, so for your safety stay close to either of us."
"Yes Lady Emma." He said as he went to stand beside his auntie, who placed a hand on his shoulder. Receiving a nod from Vicky, he returned it and focused back on the other adult amongst them.
After a few minutes of Lady Potter telling him and her children the plan, the group began leaving with David going through first and then Little Elizabeth. As Harry went to follow the other two, he was stopped when Victoria placed a hand on shoulder. "Em," she said, gaining the matriarch's attention, "I will be taking Harry with me. His school shopping is done so I don't see the point of him going with you and yours. We can meet up at Gringotts when we are done."
Harry looked between the two and watched as a lightning bolt appeared between them. After a few minutes of noticeable silence; it was finally broken when the blonde beauty nodded. "Do as you wish, Nudist. Just remember that he's your responsibility and if he's harmed you'll have hell to pay."
"You don't have to tell me that." The annoyed response came. "I've been watching and taking care of this brat for months. I don't need you to tell me what to do involving my nephew here." At this Harry felt a weight on his head and looking up to it, he found Aunt Vicky leaning on him with her shoulder. She smiled at him and gave Harry a wink. "Is that right Harry?"
He nodded, and looked at the Potter Lady and said. "You don't have to worry about me, Lady Emma. I trust Auntie Vicky to look after me." Harry gave the blonde lady a smile. "You don't need to worry about me." The Potter Matriarch stared at him and he felt probing at his mind, a probing that asked to come in.
Harry thought about it and after a few minutes he dropped a few of his shields, allowing the woman access into his mind. The emerald eyed boy watched as shock filled the Lady's blue eyes, and after receiving a nod in appreciation, she entered his mind. The Potter Heir felt which memories the woman was looking at, and he was ready in case she tried to examine 'those' memories."
"Harry?" The voice from beside him called out, and in response the British Potter Heir grabbed her hand. This was the first time he allowed someone inside of his head when not training. "Ah," his Aunt said as she squeezed his hand in assurance. "So that's what's going on… if you need help just let me know, love."
He didn't even need to look to know that she was holding her wand and glaring at the person before them. But just as Vicky finished speaking the probing left, signaling that the Potter Matriarch had finished her examination of his mind.
"I'll trust your words and memories, Heir Hadrian." The Potter Lady said as she turned to the fireplace. "We will meet up at Gringotts as the Nudist suggested." Standing in the center, the woman turned around and Harry immediately noticed the gentle smile on Lady Emmeline's face. "Thank you… thank you for trusting me Hadrian, I promise you the trust that you placed in me won't be betrayed."
With that, she tossed the floo powder into the fire and now the only two that remained were Harry and Victoria. "Let's get going Harry, let's explore Founding Village." The latter said as she placed a hand on the small of the British Potter's back. "I have someone I want you to meet." Harry looked up to his aunt and saw the mischief in her eyes and a desire to shiver filled him as they both entered the fireplace and with a flash of green the two Potters were gone.

Hours Later
—
Harry was exhausted, hours he spent traversing the Founding Village, following his American relative, listening to everything she told him. Such as a brief history of the Village and its founding. The reason why the village was named as such was because this was the area where wizards and witches landed when they first arrived in North America. So they gave the village the name of the 'Founding' for this was the first stone to what would become one of the strongest bodies of witches and wizards in all of the world.
After the briefing, Aunt Vicky led him to the many stores in the village. The first was a bookstore that held both magical and muggle books filling its shelves, sadly he wasn't able to go in to have a look around for the store was filled with young wizards and witches who were buying their school supplies. Harry reminded himself to come back later, wanting to buy a few books to read on the way to Ilvermorny, especially those Japanese looking comics.
Leaving after seeing and failing to get into the store, Harry was taken to the pet store. Where he learned that unlike Hogwarts, Ilvermory allowed up to two pets. One for letters and packages and another for a school pet, for classes and just to have at the Wizard's and Witch's side. Entering the 'Pet Emporium; Magical and No-Mag' they spent a good 10 minutes before something caught Harry's eyes, and that was because they were speaking.
He went to the location of the voices and was greeted by a large amount of snakes, mostly muggle snakes but there were also some magical ones. Harry walked around with his aunt behind him, and he followed the loudest voice. When the Potter Heir stopped he found himself standing before a red round egg and after learning what it was from the store owner, Harry decided that he'd take the unhatched egg as his second pet.
When that was all done the two Potters decided on a break, Harry being hungry and Victoria had built up a thirst after all the walking and talking they've been doing. Taking a walk around they finally decided on the place to eat, 'Grilled Cheese & Ice Cream Parlour,' which they quickly found a spot and made their order.
After a few minutes their order arrived, Harry having ordered a bacon grilled cheese, salted fries and a root beer, with chocolate chip ice cream coming when he finished his meal. Victoria had ordered a turkey club sandwich, a bacon caesar salad and iced water to drink. Enjoying the food, they were later joined by their other half of the party. Sitting down beside him David began telling him about what has happened and all the places he's gone to, and the British Potter listened, enjoying what his relative was telling him.
After a half an hour, swapping wands and Harry showing David the egg he got for the school year. The two parties split up again, going separate ways for Lady Emmeline and her children who needed to do more shopping and Harry and Victoria who needed to go and explore. Leaving the Parlour and waving goodbye, the two Potters made their way to the next shop. Which happened to be a clothes store, 'Silks and Warns', spending a few dozen minutes the emerald-eyed boy was forced to sit through some tedious trying out some clothes under the caring and expert eyes of his aunt.
When the two left Harry was carrying two magical bags, one carrying robes and everyday clothes, while the other carried suits and jackets that fit balls and social gatherings, he'd also learned that it's for his uniform. Ilvermory was unique in the way that it didn't 'require' a uniform such as the many other magical schools. The uniform was that of a shoulder cape that had the house's insignia on it. Yes the school recommended a dress suit or dress but it wasn't mandatory, however, the one thing students couldn't wear were their pajamas throughout the day.
With the final item taken care of, this being the only one that needed to be taken care of in America, the two Potters continued their exploring after Harry shrank the bags to make it easier for him to carry them around. After another hour and a half of looking around, they came to the entrance of a dark alley, one that's shadows had red eyes staring back at him.
Entering the alley, the Potter Heir stayed close to his aunt, who was wearing a face that screamed not to mess with them. He had his wand at the ready and the name of his familiar at the tip of his tongue to make a quick getaway if needed. Walking further into the alley, Harry took notice that whenever he or his aunt walked past someone, they moved as if they wanted to stay away from the two Potter. At first the Potter Heir thought it was because of his scar, but it wasn't for the people were looking at the woman leading him. When they came to a stop it was to sight of a decently well-kept diner.
That was where Harry found himself now, sitting at a small table with Vicky in front of him. The boy couldn't handle the silence of this diner, probably because there was only a handful of people there. The Potters themselves, a sketchy duo in the corner, a person at the bar who was drinking a cup of a crimson liquid, and lastly the establishment owner who was at the bar cleaning cups and plates.
To pass the time, the young Potter took out the shrunken counter that held the snake egg he bought hours ago. Bringing it back to its original size Harry placed it on the table, he was confused and curious about what he would hear. Unlike the other snakes and snake eggs in the shop, which he could only hear one voice per snake or egg, the one before him there was three. The voices were feminine and all three of them had a different way of speaking.
One of them was dreamy, as if she was in a whole other world than the others. Another, the voice more outstanding, sounded as if she was planning some, muttering about how she will greet him. The last voice was more critical of the other voices, telling them that it was a stupid idea and that they should just shut up.
Harry went to say something, not knowing why he wanted to talk to three voices he'd never heard before, but before he could say a thing the familiar voice of his aunt spoke up, bringing his attention to her. "Harry, remember when before we left the Mansion, I said I wanted you to meet someone?"
He nodded with a slightly raised eyebrow, confused about why she asked him that. Going to give her his answer, he was stopped abruptly when someone sat down beside him. Harry flinched and scooted away from the unknown person and looked to find crimson eyes staring at him. Upon putting his eyes on the stranger he noticed that the stranger was a woman, who was wearing a fitting black gothic clothes with a black choker, and with silky white hair that was held back in a bun. However, what caught the young Potter's attention the most was the immense amount of dark magic flowing off her.
"Hello Child, I hope you don't mind me sitting down here." The woman said with a cold voice, and while her crimson eyes glinted. It was also at this moment Harry realized that she was staring at his scar. "But this," she said as she tilted her head to the side, "is fascinating. Such horrible and wicked magic I feel from that scar you have."
"Lil, leave the boy alone." The other Potter spoke up, giving Harry a chance to breathe. Looking to his relative the Potter Heir watched as Vicky leaned onto a hand and a serious look grew across her face. "And what do you mean? Do you feel something from Harry's scar?"
The woman beside him finally removed her eyes from him, and spoke. "I do. However even with my age, I don't know what it is, but what I do know is that it is vile and evil." The gothic-clothed woman stopped, and Harry watched as she picked up the container containing the egg he was listening to. "If you want my opinion, find a way to get whatever magic that is, out Boy Wonder's head. For I don't think I need to name the person who could have possibly cast it onto the child."
Harry felt himself sweating as he took in the woman's words. The man who killed his parents cast a spell on him that is still active to this day. Looking to his lap, the Potter Heir couldn't fight the negativity that went to his head at what could happen to him if the spell activated.
"Child." The voice of the newcomer spoke up, making his emerald pools look to crimson red eyes. "Stop worrying yourself. We are beings of magic, and whatever kind of magic is in your head, we'll find out what it is and remove it, and with your Grandfather being the Head Unspeakable, it's his job to find out things and if they are dangerous, he'll destroy it. To top it off, you are his family, so he's probably working overtime to find out what's in your scar." She finished as she placed the container back down and rubbed his head.
Harry nodded, a newfound respect for this unknown individual before him. Even if said person gave him the feeling of Dark Magic. "Th-thank you." He said quietly.
"Harry, I should have given you an introduction first, but as you saw we got carried away." His relative said and he brought his attention to the older Potter. "Harry this is Lilith Serena Sidriel and she is a Vampire, and you can say we are 'acquaintances'." Emerald eyes shoot to the person beside him, with curiosity and nervousness in his bright eyes. "Lil, this is Hadrian James Potter, he's the Heir of the Main Potter Family as you already know."
"It's nice to formally meet you Child." The now named vampire said with a smile that revealed her fangs. "I'll be staying in touch with you from now on." Harry looked to his aunt with a questioning look, wanting to know what Lilith was talking about. "I'm the Defence Against the Arts Teacher at Ilvermorny, and Victoria's acquaintance. I also must say that this is a very nice Runespoor egg and it houses a very lively bunch."
The Potter Heir looked back to the woman beside him, finding it absolutely genius to have a being of the Dark Arts teach the Defence of the Dark Arts class. However it dawned on him that he was an idiot, it made perfect sense for there to be three voices in one egg if it belonged to a known three-headed snake.
Shaking his head Harry gave a courtly nod to his soon-to-be teacher. "I look forward to your class, Professor." He finished with a charming smile.
Silence followed as he felt the vampire's eyes on him, and a tiny pinking coloured on her cheek. "A lady's man… oh boy you are going to be a hassle when you grow up Child." Harry tilted his head in confusion, not knowing what she was talking about. "Anyway, are we set to leave?" With a quick nod from both Potters, all three made to leave only stopping when Lilith turned around. "I'll be right back, I've gotten a thirst coming:"
Not needing to know what she was talking about Harry stayed beside his relative, and even if he was avoiding listening to what the vampire ordered and shivered when he thought he heard, 'virgins blood'.
"Harry." Vicky spoke up, making him look at the sapphire-eyed woman. "For the future, do not come down this alley unless you are with myself, my brother, Em or Lil." Harry nodded slowly but he wanted to know why, and thankfully his aunt knew him and gave what he wanted. "This alley is the Founding Village's equivalent to Diagon Alley's Knockturn Alley. Yes America has nicer and friendlier laws to people of the Dark Arts, but the people themselves still fear them. So this is where they do business and go about their lives."
Getting his answer, he gave a quick reply in the form of a serious nod and a simple promise to not step foot here unless he's with someone. This however brought a simple question to mind. "Why only the ones you named?"
"Well Lil is obvious, she herself is a being of the Dark Side, and in America if you are on their side, you are family, even if Vampires and Werewolves have their strife with each other, they are two kinds of magical creatures that fall and are seen as dark creatures." She gave the easiest explanation first, which Harry obviously nodded to, he can already see the drastic differences in Magical Politics between America and his homeland.
"For my brother that's also pretty self explanatory. He's the Governor of New England, and with Founding Village being in his area of governing, he makes the laws. William is also one of the strongest people in all of North America because of his history in the No-Mag Wars such as the Vietnamese War, and the Magical Wars such as the American-Mexican war." Harry nodded, understanding the reasoning and he made a mental note on the history between Magical America and Magical Mexico. "For Em, yes she gives off the vibes of someone who's calm, regal and the embodiment of nobility. But I assure you she is not, she knows how to use her wand and her magic, and isn't afraid to use it when she feels as if she's threatened. She's also the wife of William, so there's also that as well."
As he listened to his aunt, the Potter Heir looked back to his future DADA teacher and found her leaving the bar, this time her lips looking redder, probably from the 'drink' she just had, and with a black umbrella in hand. When the vampire noticed him looking, Lilith gave him a small smile, making him look right back at his relative as she continued.
"As for myself." Vicky said as she summoned her wand to her hand and held it out to him. "Tell me what you feel when you hold my wand." Getting permission, Harry took the wand and examined it, and felt its magic. It was indeed a beautiful wand made with two types of wood, he's been told the woods used were sugar maple and rowan. However as he felt for the magic, it finally came to him. "From the look on your face, I can tell you've noticed it."
Harry nodded, the wand was emitting Dark Magic, and before he could say a thing the vampire joined them and spoke first. "Oh you telling the Child why he shouldn't come into the Alley?" She said and the Potter Heir watched as her eyes flew to the wand. "Also allowing him to hold your wand I see. I'm quite jealous, you know not even I have been able to hold such a beauty of appearance and magic."
"And you never will." The annoyed voice of his aunt spoke up as Harry felt the owner taking her wand back. "Harry, my wand was made with two cores, one being the tail hair of a unicorn, like I told you before. The second core, the one I haven't told you about, is a hair belonging to a rougarou's tail." It finally clicked as to why his aunt was allowed in here. Harry knew that the Rougarou was a dark creature, and if dark humanoid creatures could feel similar magic then that explained why everyone they walked past earlier avoided her. "Now you know." His aunt said as she moved to the exit. "Time to meet up with my Sister in law."

Before you accuse me of using Twilight's version of a vampire, I'll like to say one I've never seen the movies and that I did do a bit of research on the HP wiki to see if their vampires can survive the sun, and found not a mention of them being able to or not able to. So in this story Vampires are able to go about their days in the sun but their drawbacks are their abilities are very much weakened and limited and that they can burn very easily, which is why Lilith had an umbrella.
I'm thinking of renaming the story. If you have any suggestions please let me know for I can't think of any that aren't cringe.
