Gravity Falls... One of the most overlooked regions in all of the Pokemon world, and for good reason. With barely any wild pokemon in the area it would often come across as a forgettable blip for any serious trainer.

However, a revolutionary new Professor in the field of pokemon study, a one Stanford Pines, has come up with a way to change all this.

By offering their region to pokemon that had their natural habitats destroyed, Professor Ford hopes to collect AND share data of how pokemon choose new habitats.

The Pokemon League has agreed to fund Professor Pines' project and even offered to set up League official gyms, provided Gym Leaders could be chosen and present reasonable challenges.

Of course after a waiting period of the essentially refugee pokemon were released, capturing them to obtain new data was a must. Which was why Professor Pines decided to call upon his Great Nephew and Niece for the job.

A white moving truck pulled up to what almost looked like the Mystery Shack. Oh the shape of the building was still the same, but there were no oddity tourist attractions out for display in this dimension and any sign on the roof never existed in the first place.

The back of the truck opened up and out jumped Dipper and Mabel. The rest of the truck looked like it was filled with various pokemon eggs.

"This is it!" Dipper proudly announced. "Time to start our Pokemon Journey and help Great Uncle Ford! Ready for us to pick our starters?"

"I'm ready for you to eat my dust as I get first look at the choices!"

Mabel raced off to the front door while Dipper accidentally tripped over his own feet.

"Mabel! No fair! You said this would be a friendly rivalry!"

Stanley helped Dipper up and they went inside the lab together where they found Ford inspecting the filled pokeballs on Mabel's belt.

"You've already caught some pokemon. But how? Who gave you the pokeballs?"

Stanley raised his hand. "Guilty! Can't let you show me up with the kids so I gave them their first pokeballs and first pick of the eggs."

"Eggs? What eggs?!" asked Ford.

"Grunkle Stan filled the back of his moving truck with pokemon eggs. Wouldn't say where he got them though." explained Dipper.

Ford narrowed his eyes at Stanley.

"How many eggs?"

"There were SO many pokemon eggs in the truck! Grunkle Stan said we could take as many as we want! I picked out like... Five!"

"Unlike your successor in Nerdyness!" shot Stanley. "He didn't pick any!"

"I'd rather just catch my own." shrugged Dipper. "Besides, we don't even know what kind of pokemon are in those eggs."

Ford sent his brother a look. "We'll talk about these eggs later... Right now it's time for you to pick your starters!"

Mabel and Dipper cheered as Ford guided them over to a table that had three pokeballs on it.

"Dipper, since Mabel already technically has five; why don't you have the first pick?"

Dipper walked up to the first ball and already felt a good vibe coming from it.

"I choose this one!"

He hit the ball in the center and it opened with a flash of light. The light dimmed away and in front of Dipper stood a Charmander.

Dipper's eyes got a little wider as he beheld his new pokemon.

"I swore I would go with my gut this time and just work with whatever I got but I was secretly hoping for a Charmander!"

The little fire lizard gave the boy's leg a hug and he petted him on the head in return.

"Congratulations then! Mabel, it's your turn now.

"I... also choose Charmander!" cheered Mabel.

Ford and Dipper let out a confused "What?!" in unison.

Mabel walked right pass the other two pokeballs to where Grunkle Stan was holding another Charmander.

"What the...?! Where did that thing come from?!"

Stanley shrugged as he handed it to Mabel.

"It hatched in my truck."

Mabel hugged her new friend and then whispered in its ear "The happiest days of your life starts now."

"Stanley, what the Heck?!"

"You should be thanking me, Sixer! You kept going on about how you needed to keep one for that fancy newbie who paid to have one reserved! Now she has one more option!"

"I... Grrrrr! I guess you got me on a technicality. Oh well..." Ford reached into his lab coat pockets and pulled out a couple of Pokedexes.

"Here, consider these a gift from me. They're..."

The twins snatched the Pokedexes out of Ford's hands before he could even finish.

"We know what a Pokedex is Great Uncle Ford..." started Mabel.

"We still love it all the same! Thanks!"

Stanley knelt down to the kids and wore a grin he usually reserved for conning saps.

"My brother might be the smarty-pants expert, but I know I'M going to be your favorite because my gift is what can help you two bring out your pokemon's full potential!" Stanley brought out two Mega Charizard stones from behind his back. "BAM! X and Y! Yours to divy up anyway you knuckleheads see fit!"

Dipper and Mabel gasped in excitement at the very sight of the stones. With these they could truly bring out their pokemon's full potential.

"I call dibs on X!" shouted Mabel.

"Hey! No fair! I wanted X! Why should you get to have it?" objected Dipper.

"Because I have an X Chromosome! BWAAAAAAAH!"

Dipper was not amused. "I'll battle you for it!"

"PFT! Yeah right! We both got the same type of pokemon!"

"Exactly! That way only the best trainer comes out on top! And the best trainer deserves to have the Mega Stone they want!"

"... Alright, Goober! You're on!"

"Don't call me that!"

[Insert Battle Transition Here]

"Kids! You don't have to..." Ford started to scold but Stanley stopped him.

"Just let them have this, Sixer! Bound to happen at some point; better to just let them get it out of their system now."

"Ooh... Fine! But only because we can heal their pokemon up immediately after!"

"Go! Charmander!" ordered Dipper.

Dipper's Charmander leapt forward ready to fight.

"Charmander, because everything else I have is an egg, I choose you!"

Mabel's Charmander ran forward and puffed up his chest.

'I guess out Charmanders have different personalities.' thought Dipper.

"Charmander! Use Scratch!"

The one Charmander ran up to the other and scratched his face.

"Mabel ain't losing her first pokemon battle, Charmander! Now use Metal Claw!"

Mabel's Charmander stretched out his claws and they became shiny, as if they were made of metal.

"What?!" was all Dipper could call out before the opposing Charmander charged in and scratched his claws against Dipper's.

"Stanley, where did that thing even learn that move?!" demanded Ford.

Stanley brushed his fingernails against his suit nonchalantly.

"Yeah, that one is from a third outbreak generation. The ones that know Metal Claw."

Dipper knew this was bad. Metal Claw obviously did more damage than Scratch so it threw his strategy out the window a little bit.

He wanted to use all out offense but his Charmander couldn't afford another hit like that. Unlike Mabel's Charmander, he could take at the very least a couple more Scratches.

Dipper could try to switch it up by using Growl but now that Mabel had seen how much damage Metal Claw did, there was no way how it wasn't coming again.

Still...

He owed it to his new pokemon to at least try to win.

"Charmander, use Scratch one last time!"

His Charmander followed his orders and charged in for a Scratch. To Dipper's surprise it was actually a critical hit.

"Hey! Nice shot, man!"

Dipper's praise made his Charmander dance happily for a moment.

"Don't get too comfortable! Charmander, finish him off with Metal Claw!"

Mabel's Charmander followed her command flawlessly and reduced Dipper's Charmander's HP to zero.

"YES! MABEL WIN!" cheered Mabel.

Dipper whited out.

...

[End Battle Transition]

Dipper sat up on the floor and held his head.

"What happened?"

"You were knocked out for like three seconds." explained Ford.

"BECAUSE YOU JUST GOT BESTED, SON! I bet all my battles will go like this!" gushed Mabel.

"Now, now. It was a fine battle and you both did very well. Let's just leave it at that." insisted Ford. "I'll heal your pokemon and then you can be on your way."

With Charmanders healed, the young Pines twins headed out the door to what was basically their own Route 1.

"Well Mabel, let the best trainer win!"

"I intend to! I'm not even bothering with whatever locals there are to catch here! I'm just going to barrel myself straight to the first gym! Mabel... AWAY!"

Mabel charged down the pathway, avoiding all the tall grass while Dipper hung back.

"Be as wreckless as you want, sis! I know it's slow and steady that wins the race! First things first though... Need to see what's in the area to prepare for the gym..."

Back in the lab...

"I'm just going to ask it... Stanley, WHAT is with all the EGGS?!" shouted Ford.

"I want Gravity Falls to be a big deal to folks to but I was a little worried your little science experiment might not be enough. So you know how I went with you to each region so your idea could get approved and I basically disappeared for a couple of hours?"

Ford narrowed his eyes at his brother.

"... Yeeeeeeeeeees. Why do you ask?"

"Well while you were off in your business meetings, I was visiting whatever local daycare facilities the region had to offer. I would take any eggs that trainers didn't want, had too many of, or basically just didn't have room for. I'll drop some off everywhere I go and when they hatch... Gravity Falls will have its own wild pokemon unlike any region because we'll have a little something from every region!"

"Stanley, that's insane! Not to mention potentially dangerous to my experiment!"

Stanley was obviously more upset than Ford but he refused to budge.

"You'll see! This will make Gravity Falls the new hotspot for traveling trainers! You'll never know what pokemon you can catch where! Like a mystery lotto or something!"

"Stanley, you can't just release pokemon eggs into any wild part of Gravity Falls and expect them to hatch and adapt!" scolded Ford.

"... I can so long as you can't catch me!"

Stanley raced out the door and soon after a truck engine was heard followed by the noise of tires peeling out.

"Stanley, I... Oh forget it. Sigh. I'll just deal with him later."

He turned back to his notes on the desk but he didn't get the chance to even read a single line. The sound of the door opening alerted him that he had new company. Turning to greet his new visitor, Ford wasn't surprised at all by who he saw.

"Oh hello! You must be that Northwest girl who called earlier! I'm afraid somebody already beat you to the fire starter but you can still have your pick of the other two."

"That's fine. I already decided on the water type anyways."

"Squirtle it is then."

To be continued...?

Now PLEASE don't come at me begging for your fav pokemon to be on Dipper's team. I already have his team already picked out! He'll be using the same team I beat Pokemon Red's Elite Four for the first time. Which is Charizard, Pidgeot, Golem, Tauros, Jolteon, and Lapras. Now Bulbasaur fans, don't worry. I thought about it long and hard and came up with a way for the little dicynodot to be included. If you liked this one vote for it on my polls at either my fanfiction profile or at deviantart, I'm all under the same penname. Poll ends when DPPD is over. P.S. Except for her starter, all of Mabel's pokemon will be pig types. Each one given a different Waddles nickname, like a Mamoswine would be Ult. Waddles. Should be fun.

p.s. I deleted the first posting for this because the only review was a "commission art request" which I officially hate now.

p.p.s. I will delete this story AGAIN, for a third and LAST time if the first review I receive is a "commission art request"
