Martha sobbed, "Kel's coming home! Your mama's coming home!", as Kel faintly heard Poppy's sob and Bruce's laugh, and Kel smiled before she heard a knock on the door of the office, and she looked up to see Fate smiling with his eyes, shocked yet overjoyed.
"Fate's here, it won't be even a few minutes, I promise, I'll see you in the main foyer! I can't wait to hold you two and kiss you two all I want, my loves, and say those long-missed words!", Kel explained excitedly before hanging up the phone.
Fate replied, "Since it's an international trip, we will have to take a couple of portals in a couple places, but we'll get there in the main foyer. You ready?", with a nod. Kel smiled so widely, "Yes!".
Kel took a deep breath before she followed him through the portal, stopping in a spot of Hawaii. "Does my family have a theory about why I'm back?", Kel asked as she breathed steadily to get used to the lower altitude, and of course, the much-desired warmth of the sun for a minute.
Fate nodded, "Yes, they think it was the extreme balance scaling back the balance of the Pit, because Poppy killed Tetch as the final trigger, with Rex Falcone and Tony Zucco before that, getting their justice in the fire and mauling thanks to Bruce and the others, and of course, getting tracked down by Waylon and getting killed in prison because they crossed the line of the code: No kids. Of course, their other crimes counted too. It was your portrait that vanished, grabbing their attention in the first place. They explained over the past couple of hours via text and such after they alerted me.".
"Just like Caroline and Jane's chimes.", Kel whispered in an exhale as they then took another portal, traveling through again, landing in a spot off the Hollywood Bowl, seeing the famous Hollywood sign as it's late afternoon, and she figured the magical essence of the portal helped with altitude sickness.
Fate nodded, "Indeed. It's so good to see you, Kel...You still have that determination, that fire, and of course, that glint of protective love in those green eyes that hasn't changed much apart from shade...If I say so, you look quite lovely, through I'm sure Thomas and Martha would say differently.", with a chuckle.
Kel blushed, smiling, "You're not wrong there.", as she thought herself to be attractive, maybe beautiful, but she is a bit sad of not being gorgeous or sexy anymore, yet she can't blame the heavens for giving her a wonderful body to fit her soul and she's happy to hear the sounds of traffic, to feel the breeze, to smell the grass, to taste the salt of the sea in the distance, and touch a nearby flower's petals, as she then nodded at Fate, "Okay, I'm good.".
Fate smiled with his eyes behind the helm, and made another portal, and Kel teared up as she recognized the familiar sight of the main foyer as they walked through, nostalgically smelling the scents of the manor, and she smiled so brightly before she then heard a sob and a gasp, and turned around as the portal vanished like the past few ones, and her heart skipped a beat, almost jumping against her chest as her eyes laid on her lovers, her best friends, and her wife & husband in Martha and Thomas Wayne.
There was a brief few moments when all was still and quiet as practically everyone's brains were trying to comprehend the situation. For one thing, just the fact that Kel was back: in a new form and all, but just being there again after gone for so long...
Kel spoke with tears, "I'm home...", as Martha and Thomas didn't hesitate to run to her, "Kel!", and Kel opened her arms, sobbing as she ran to them as well, meeting in the middle, "I love you, Martha, I love you, Thomas!", kissing fervently and hugging them.
"We love you too, Kel!", Thomas sobbed as he tightened his embrace of his two wives. It was a moment later before Poppy joined the hug and gave a squeeze of her own. "Mama...", Poppy whispered as she was sobbing with joy.
Kel sobbed with a tearful smile, "My baby! Oh, Poppy, look how much you've grown! I watched you all those years...I'm so proud of you getting with your fears, and you really raised incredible kids in the twins, and you have so much unconditional love for Dick and Damien and Jane...", kissing her daughter on the forehead, missing so much of being a mother.
Selina nodded with a smile, holding into the hands of their twin girls, and Bruce went to join into the hug, "Mama!", and Kel smiled tearfully, "Oh, Bruce! You are truly like your father, I'm so proud of you making Wayne Entreprises worthwhile for all people, and oh, I absolutely adore my daughter-in-law in Selina, you found an incredible, brilliant, and beautiful woman...You two are doing a brilliant job raising Damien, and those adorable girls, so much like you two and Martha and Thomas.", kissing her son on the forehead motherly.
"Am I dreaming?", Martha whispered. "Is this all a dream and I'm about to wake up?". Martha honestly worried if that was suddenly going to be the case; that all of this wasn't real and that her brain was about to wake up again.
"Martha...", Kel whispered; her focus now for sure on the woman with whom she shared a body with, a woman that is the reason she ever really existed in the first place.
Kel went to cradle Martha's cheek in her hand as the others reluctantly yet understanding let go of the huddle, including Thomas, but staying close, not leaving Kel in their sights, "Martha Rosalyn Wayne, do you feel this?".
Martha nodded, "Yes...", and Kel took her wife's other hand to rest on her chest, above her heart, "Feel that? That's my heart...You were right...I truly have a soul, and it belongs to me alone ever and ever, but my heart belongs to you, Thomas, and all this family.".
Martha's eyes began to tear up as Kel went to kiss her on the lips for the first time as human, moving her hands to embrace her wife, soaking into the love and security of it all.
After a few moments, they parted away as Martha took a deep breath. "I needed that...", Martha said as Kel chuckled. "Same here... of course, we can't leave out our loving husband.", Kel turned to Thomas as he blushed.
Thomas whispered, "It's really you, Kel...Bold and gorgeous...", and Kel blushed with a smile, "I'm not that gorgeous...I'm not a green amazon anymore...".
"True, but you are gorgeously beautiful in and out because you have a soul, and you're our wife...I wouldn't ever lie.", Thomas smiled before he moved in to kiss Kel on the lips, and Kel felt loved and secured as it lasted a few moments before they parted away, with Kel smiling, "I needed that too...And you're right, I'm beautiful in and out...Now, I'm starving, and I'm eager to watch the Halloween movie after I read a story to the little ones, that is, if that's okay with Selina and John and Mary?".
The said parents smiled happily, realizing that Kel wants to experience being a grandmama, nodding, and so, they returned to the family wing's living room after thanking Fate who nodded warmly before returning home by portal. Kel excitedly told a story to the little ones, with the older kids listening in, and to her joy, she was called Grandmama immediately, hugging and kissing the little ones as they fell asleep before their respective parents took them to bed, while everyone else prepared to watch the movie, with Alfred and Caroline setting up a hearty-sized meal in front of Kel.
It was literally a floor and couch huddle around Kel as she happily basked in feeling so much love for the first time as human, tasting more textures and flavors than she ever had before, with the older kids falling asleep at the end of the movie.
Kel was invited to tuck the kids in, kissing them good night and all happily, and Poppy and Bruce knew there's more tomorrows to know how much Kel knew in her memories, and for everyone to get used to Kel again but they happily hugged her good night, with Poppy declaring that it is one of the greatest best birthday nights ever of her life, making Kel proud of making her daughter so happy.
Relieved that the late-night hours were clear of bad guys making trouble, the wedded poly retired to the bedroom, as it was an incredible, but not too busy day for everyone. Kel smiled, "I knew you hadn't changed much in this room, but up close, it feels...different...but good at the same time...".
Martha chuckled, "Probably because you were used to being so tall and big, and now everything feels tall and big, not Hulk-sized apparently, but manor-sized...", with a nod. Thomas asked, "Do you feel any...well, portal lag?".
Kel giggled, "Nope...I think my body had attained the day-night cycle of awake and sleeping from my old Hulk body on patrols...I...I want to do that night again, but this time, we're wives and husband now, and...I'm honestly nervous again yet excited as I'm human now, a virgin again...But I understand if you two are tired...I'll be just happy to hold you two in my arms in that wonderful bed and never let go of you ever until we wake up late in the morning or sooner.".
"Kel...", Thomas ran his hand against her cheek as Kel chuckled, "I'm serious, we can wait until it's a better day for you both, I mean, let's face it, we're not young bucks despite the Pit and gamma energy has done... plus, you know, impromptu doesn't feel the best at times...". She blushed as she rubbed her arm.
"Oh, dear...", Martha chuckled. "Don't tell me that you've given me all of your confidence when you let me be big and green.".
Kel giggled with a blush, "Oh, couldn't dream of it. After all, how can I be myself if I ain't at least bold and confident almost all the time? It's just that...that I...I never imagined that I'd be human for real, to actually be human sensitive to everything...And...you guys were so used to seeing me naked in my big, green, amazon self...I came out of the Pit naked, and I quite like my body which I couldn't thank the ones in charge of the heavens enough for, but I'm literally born as a virgin again, and I...I don't want to mess up if I freak out when the pain comes...Sure, with your toy gift back then, Thomas, the pain only lasted like two minutes because I was being She-Hulk then, and then of course, the mental dream that night before that dreadful machine, which was like a few seconds, and then nothing.", remembering that Thomas' toy gift had vanished too after he returned home as well.
Martha blushed with a proud yet sympathetic smile, remembering that wonderful night in the nest, and then of course, that mental dream, and went to brush her hand on Kel's other cheek, "I remember. Kel, no matter how many times you think you're not perfect, we will make sure to remind you that you are perfect to us, gosh darn it. We will love your new body as much as we loved your old body, and it will be incredible, pun intended, because you are our Kel Emerald Wayne forever and ever, and nothing's going to change that ever, right, Thomas?".
"No, no matter what...", Thomas nodded. "It was never your body, it was you...", he assured her as Kel nodded, "Yeah, don't need to tell me too many times, I'll get it in my head fairly soon.". She gave a small chuckle, "Still, feels really weird now, being like this... not really feeling that power coursing through my veins every moment.".
"How does it feel?", Martha asked; considering that she knew both angles of being human, and a gamma powered superbeing.
Kel thoughtfully was silent for a moment before speaking, "Like slipping into a new pair of shoes, which is a familiar thing to do, but like knowing how to fit right in by breaking them into use is new. I have memories of knowing how it feels in you, Martha, but then it's different in reality when I'm standing here...Does that make sense?".
"Oh, yes, that makes sense...", Thomas nodded as Martha hummed, nodding, "And you already are a natural at being a human. You can read, you can eat, you can do anything without flailing around like a toddler.".
Kel smiled, "Yeah, except for lovemaking yet...", with a blush, and her lovers looked at each other in that way of knowing each other so well, and Kel knew them too, realizing that they are agreeing on something, and Thomas smiled, "You think it might be impromptu, but think of it this way, we are technically having a Christmas wedding night by celebrating it early, and you were right...We never got a chance to officially make you a wife by consummating our union, even when we are already married in our hearts already...".
Heart skipping a beat again, Kel looked at her husband and wife, whispering, "Are you really sure?", and Martha grinned softly, "We're absolutely sure, and we aren't tired. After all, everybody out there thinks that we're in our late 50s, while we're looking like our 40s, and we feel like we are in our late 30s...Oh, sure, we aren't exactly young bucks like those kids in their 20s, but they ain't experts like us...So?".
Kel's eyes sparkled, blushing, "Show me how it's like to be a wife in lovemaking, I'm all yours...", before she gasped in pleasure and surprise as her wife and husband scooped her up together, their lips kissing her neck and their hands searching under her shirt, as she felt a whole new range of nerves getting thrilled, noticing that she was being carried to the bed, glad that she's barefoot, as Thomas whispered huskily, "Do you want those rough clothes off as we get closer to every major milestone within your body?".
Kel gave a small moan, "Yes... please... oh, wait...". She quickly paused for a moment, "Um...". She blushed, "I was thinking of everyone else... I remember watching from beyond like with Bruce and Selina wanting some privacy a while back, which I did, but that's where they got wild, concluding into Cassie and Kate.".
Martha purred with a grin, "Oh, you want us to rip those clothes out?", as Kel bit her lip, blushing, "I don't need these clothes as they were literally salvaged clothes from the ruins I found through in finding my way out...Anyway, I realize that means I'd be naked in front of you, giving you two your first look...", taking a deep breath with a smile, "I'm ready, if you are, in case you want to do the same to each other too, or want me to rip your clothes off if those clothes aren't needed either...", eager to be surprised at whoever takes their turn.
"Hopefully, we won't cause too much noise for the house...", Thomas chuckled, and Kel blushed again as the memories of just how things could get so wild of the previous times that she made love with Martha ran through her mind. "Yeah...", Martha gave a sly smile as Kel grinned, "Okay, you two have your way with me first then...".
