Later that night, the trio make their way to the old silver mine with the Delorean. They were getting it ready for their departure in the morning. Doc walks over to Marty and Ally and said, "Marty, Ally, I'm not going with you two tomorrow. I'm staying here,"

Both Marty and Ally jumped up and they blurted out, "What?!" Marty had the picture that Ally took back in 1955 and said, "Doc, this tombstone is still in your future,"

"Yeah, you're still in danger as long as you're still here!" Ally blurted. Doc had to point out the obvious; he couldn't sugarcoat it. "There's no denying it. I'm in love with Clara, " he bluntly said.

Ally rubbed her face with a hand and she groaned, "As nice as that is, Doc, did you forget that you forget that you don't belong here? Not you, Marty, or even me!"

Doc frowns at this and said as he walked to the Delorean, "Look, the future isn't written. It can be changed; both of you know that! Anyone can make their future whatever they want it to be. i can't let this one photograph determine my entire destiny. I have to live my life according to what I believe is right... in my heart."

Marty sighed and said, "Doc, you're a scientist, " "Tell us what's right..." Ally added, pointing to her head, "In here," Doc pondered this; they were right. He'd loved being a scientist since he was seventeen. He couldn't just let it go.

"You two are right" he sighed, pulling a switch. The Delorean rolled on the tracks carefully. "I've gotta tell her goodbye at least," Doc said carefully.

Marty looked at him,his expression tense. "Cmon, Doc, i mean, think about it. What're you gonna tell her? 'I gotta go back to the future?' i mean, she's not understand that," he said.

"Doc, he's right. How long have Marty and I've been woth you and we still don't understand. Maybe we could... i don't know... maybe we can bring her with us?" Ally added.

Doc's eyes widened in shock. He couldn't believe that Ally offered to bring Clara with them. It wouldn't be right to do that.

"To the future? You both reminded me that I'm a scientist so i must be scientific about this. I cautioned you about disrupting the continuum for your own personal benefit therefore I must do no less. We'll proceed as planned as soon as we return to 1985, we'll destroy this infernal time machine. Traveling through has become much too painful, " Doc explained.

The faces of the siblings dropped as they watched Doc walk away. "Is there a plan B? " Marty asked. "I thinj we're way past that," Ally answered.
