Hello everyone, before we start just a reminder in case you skipped it, but in the previous chapter. I announced the idea of a crossover with this story and Zootopia, and the summary is in the previous chapter, so go take a look at that and leave a review if you want to see it.
And to answer a guest review, for the Kipo side it takes place after it's over, and the Zootopia side takes place in the film with both sides meeting each other for the first time on the train to Zootopia.
Now as you can guess by the title, I made some big changes in this chapter, but you'll have to wait to see what I did in a bit.

How To Outsmart A Mad Doctor
Timbercat Village
Up in the trees of the Timbercat Village, Yumyan was teaching Asher, Dahlia, Ori, and Gami how to pounce on Charles. Once they saw Charles, Asher pulled out some axes. "Uh-uh. No need. Just get real quiet, be very patient, and he'll come right to you." Yumyan said to everyone, as he sat criss-crossed, followed by everyone else.
Charles looked at Yumyan for a bit, and it caused Yumyan to get entrance. "Nah, man, I'm not doing that." Charles said to Youyan, before flying away. This snapped Yumyan back to reality, and he chased Charles. "Come back here!" Yumyan said to Charles.
"Aah!" Asher said, as they followed Yumyan, yelling and swinging axes around. Followed by Ori and Gami, and behind them all was Dahlia, who had a smile on her face as they ran.
"Yumyan owns you all!" Yumyan said, as Dahlia tripped, falling into the tree. "Ugh!" Dahlia said, as she spat out some leaves. But as she did that, Dahlia noticed someone below. Wondering what was up with Dahlia, Asher and Yumyan checked on Dahlia, and noticed the person as well. "Hey, who's that?" Asher asked everyone.
And that person was Zane, who was here to shoot a massage. But he failed when he stopped under the tree, and Yumyan came down on him with Asher and Dahlia on his back, and Ori and Gami floating next to him.
Up in the main hall, the place was packed, with mutes of different kinds mixing it up and having a good time over some pancakes. Walking into this was Kipo, Kalena, and Lio, who had Virgo, Kommo-o, and jester with them, and the human carrying an extra plate of pancakes.
"Ugh, there's no more seats." Kipo said to everyone, before gasping. "There's no more seats!" Kipo said to everyone. "Eh, you did that. Now, we have to eat on the floor." Lio said to Kipo, elbowing her.
"Or you can join us." A male voice said to Lio, making everyone turn to a table where Javin, Asuga, Flash, and Maria were eating together with a few extra sets.
"Thanks Javin." Kalena said to Javin, as she and those with her moved to sit with Javin and his family. "So, how are you all doing?" Kipo asked Javin, Flash, and Asuga, as she and her family took their seats.
"We're recovering and reconnecting slowly. Javin has been filling us in on what's been going on. And I gotta say I wish my father was still with us, I'm sure he would've loved to meet Kipo you, and battle you Kalena." Asgua said to Kipo and Kalena.
"Yeah, I wish I was there for your battle with my brother. It sounds like one we would have made into song. But I have to ask, why haven't you gone big like your sister yet?" Flash asked Kalena.
"We've been working on that after the battle at the stadium, but I haven't been able to go mega at all. So we sought advice from the Chevre Sisters, but all they said was that one is of the beast, and the other is of the light, only when balance is achieved can we reach our true power. Having no clue what that means, our best guess is that my job is to be Kipo's support, to be a pest that rides Kipo into battle, and annoys the mega she fights." Kalena said to Flash.
"That sounds boring." Flash said to Kalena. "Not all of us have flashy rolls when it comes to fighting together, Flash." Kalena said to Flash, rubbing Flash's head, and making everyone google.
That's when they heard the main door slam open, and Yumyan, Asher, Dahlia, Ori, and Gami walk into the place, with Yumyan holding Zane. This caused everyone to freeze and look at them.
"Zane?" Lio asked, as he, Kipo, and Kalena got up and walked towards Zane, while Javin got up and walked to protect Flash and Asuga, giving Zane a mean look, and softly growling at Zane.
"What's he doing?" Kalena asked everyone. "He has a message." Dahlia said to everyone. "From Emilia." Yumyan said to everyone. "Tell them what your note said." Asher said to Zane, pulling out the arrow with the note.
"Please meet Emilia at the water treatment facility in three hours so she can cure you." Zane said to Kipo and Kalena, with a smug tune in his voice.
"What? Why would I do that?" Kipo asked Zane. "He had this on him, Kipo." Dahlia said to Kipo, pulling out Wolf's rope, making everyone gasp.
"Because we have your friends." Zane said to everyone, a smirking tune still in his voice. "No." Kipo said, as she ran out of the hall.
"Kipo, wait!" Kalena said as she and Lio followed her. "You can't just run off to Emilia! You could get hurt!" Lio said to Kipo, as Kipo turned into her Mega Jaguar form, with Song noticing Kipo running off and going after her.
Kipo ran out of the village, causing a little ruckus, but was stopped when Song tackled her to the ground. Kipo tried to get out of Song's grip, but she couldn't. This caused Kipo to give up and turn back to normal.
"I don't understand how this is possible. We stopped her! The journal was destroyed!" Kipo said, as she passed in Song's hands. Song then tried to say something, but Kipo had no idea what she was saying.
"I-I'm sorry, Mom, I know you're trying to help, but I don't know what you're saying." Kipo said to Song, making a Song sigh, before rubbing Kipo's head, but this didn't make Kipo feel better.
Meanwhile, Lio, Kalena, Yumyan, Javin, Mandu, and their Pokemon, plus Vrigo, were locking Zane in a Timbercat cage. "Don't you have anything better to do than run errands for Emilia, Zane?" Lio asked Zane, as everyone looked at Zane with cross arms.
"I don't run her errands. I do what I wanna do. I just happened to want to do what she tells me." Zane said to Lio. "You're such a tool." Kalena said to Zane. "I'm not a tool." Zane said to Kalena.
"From what Aqua told me, you never once had an origin thought, ever. You and Greta have only used your drains if Emilia tells you too. Like I said, a tool." Kalean said to Zane.
That's when Song walked up to everyone, getting their attention. Song then put Kipo down, letting her run into Lio and Kalena's arms for a big family hug.
"Dad, Kalena, she has our friends. I mean, who knows what that mute-hating monster lady will do to them? Ugh, I just want to jaguar punch her!" Kipo said to everyone, as she broke the hug, and summoned her jaguar paws.
"I want to sink my claws into her as well, but we can't rush this. So long as she has the others, we must move with caution, otherwise we risk their lives." Kalena said to Kipo, as Kipo looked at her paws.
"Maybe I should let her cure me." Kipo said to Kalena. "Now that's another bad idea." Kalena said to Kipo. "She's right. If you two get cured, you two can't protect anyone, especially your friends. We'll find another way to stop her." Lio said to Kipo.
"We'll beat Emilia at her own game, whatever that game is! Let's figure out her game, is what I'm saying." Yumyan said to everyone. "From our past interactions with her, it's lies and tricks." Javin said to everyone.
Song then tried to say something, sounding like a panic. "Whoa, mother, calm down. Give me your finger." Kalena said to Song, holding out her right hand. Song then lowered a finger into Kalena's hand, causing Kalena to take a deep breath as she closed her eyes.
Kalena kept her eyes closed for a few seconds, before removing her hand from Song's finger.
"I can't understand her. The mention of Emilia has made her mind go out of control. She'll need some time before I can understand her." Kalena said to everyone, making Song sigh in disappointment.
"Don't worry, I've got it from here." Lio said to Song, before Song walked away.
"Hey, don't you feed your prisoners? I'm starving, I'm thirsty, and I need some food and water!" Zane said to everyone. "We don't care. You've been acting like some big shot after kidnapping our friends. Considering going hungry as punishment for being a bad guy." Kalena said to Zane.
Mandu then squealed at Zane, making everyone giggle. "That'll do Mandu." Lio said to Mandu. "I already know the answer, but any chance of trading him for the others?" Kalena asked Lio.
"I doubt Emilia even cares that he's missing. But he would know Emilia's plan. We just have to get it out of him. Somehow." Lio said to everyone.
"I'm not telling you anything. My mind is a vault. And the code is in a separate vault. And they're both inside my mind." Zane said to everyone.
"Or Emilia didn't tell you anything, and you're trying to compensate for that with a lie." Kalena said to Zane, as Kipo had an idea. "Let's get you that water, Zane." Kipo said to Zane, before leaving to get some water.
Once she came back, she gave Zane a canteen, and Zane chugged it down. But while Zane was chugging it down, Kalena realized what Kipo was planning. "Thanks. Still not talking." Zane said to everyone, smirking.
"Oh, we don't need you to talk. Isn't that right, Mul?" Kalena asked. "You know it." Mul said to Kalena, as he came out of Zane's right ear, surpsign Zane. "Huh?" Zane asked, as Mul went back into Zane's head, and Zane rubbed the inside of his right ear.
"Your lil' thoughts are singing like a canary." Mul said to Zane, as he came out of Zane's left ear. This caused Zane to scream. "What is that?" Zane asked everyone. "Zane, meet Mulholland." Kipo said to everyone.
"Hello, my cranky enemy friend. I'm a collective of tardigrades, or water bears. Rawr. Zoop!" Mulholland said to Zane, from the canteen, making multiple copies of himself, before going into Zane's ears.
This made Zane gasp and throw away the canteen. "You wanted water, and you won't talk. So we gave you Mulholland, hill take care of both of our problems." Kalena said to Zane, as Kipo bent down.
"Get this water mute out of me!" Zane said to everyone, as he fired to force sneezes. "Ooh, forgot my hat. Zoop!" Mulholland said, as he stuck a water tentacle from Zane's nose and pulled a water hate out of the canteen, before going back in.
This caused zane to freak out, with Kipo mocking him. Right back atcha!" Kipo said to Zane, before walking away.
Meanwhile Scarlemagne was getting annoyed by all the banjo music, causing him to cover his ears. But soon the music stopped. "Ugh, finally." Scarlemagne said, with a relieved tune in his voice, as he laid down.
But that's when Song started to pace nearby, shaking Scarlemagne's cage, causing Scarlemagne to get up. "You, there! Song! Hello!" Scarlemagne said to Song, getting her attention.
"It's not enough that I'm locked in this horrid cage, tortured by the twang of banjos, day and night! This is my precious nap time. So, can you please tippy toe?" Scarlmeagne asked Song.
But Song didn't say anything, instead she grabbed the cage and held it close to her face. Then Song started to rant, shaking the cage, and tossing Scarlemagne around. "Ugh. Sounds like feelings. Why does everyone have these?" Scarlemagne asked, as Song stopped shaking the cage.
Song then talked to Scarlemagne. Sorry, dear, can't understand a thing you're saying." Scarlemagne said to Song, turning his back to her. This caused Song to roar at Scarlemagne.
"Oh, unless that's the problem." Scarlemagne said to Song, causing Song to grunt happily, shaking the cage a little. "You could have just nodded." Scarlemagne said to Song, making Song smile nervously.
"Ugh. Listen, I'll help you, in exchange for one favor." Scarlemagne said to Song, making Song nervous.
"Don't worry, it's not "let me out"." Scarlemagne said to Song, calming Song down, and she nodded in agreement, and shaking the cage again. "Nod with just your head!" Scarlemagne said to Song.
Back with everyone else, everyone was waiting for Mulholland to come out of Zane, with Yumyan playing banjo with everyone sitting around him, with Kipo nervously pacing around. All the while Zane was trying to act tough.
"You'll never find anything in there!" Zane said to everyone. "Found it." Mulholland said to Zane, as he came out of Zane's mouth. "Dang, you cracked my double vaults!" Zane said to Mulholland, after Mulholland slither out of his mouth.
"OK, here's the deal. Emilia only has three dos-i-doses of the cure." Mulholland said to Kipo, making three copies of himself. "How does she even have one dos-i-dose?" Kipo asked Mulholland.
"Well, here's the bummer part, Kipo-beepo-." Mulholland said to Kipo, as he jumped into Kipo's hands.
"Emilia took DNA from a clump of your fur, and energy from one of Kalena's scales, and science it into a cure. Apparently, you two were the missing piece of her evil pie." Mulholland said to Kipo, as he made a lump of fur and scale, made it into a dart, then turned into a pie.
"So, it's our fault Emilia has that cure. Great." Kipo said to everyone. "We couldn't have known. But let's not focus on our mistakes, let's focus on saving our friends." Kalena said to Kipo.
"At least tell me our friends are OK." Kipo asked Mulholland. "Aww, you're just drumming up bummers. I don't wanna drop a bomb on you, But Emilia's about to drop a bomb on Wolf, Benson, Dave, and Aqua." Mulholland said to Kipo, as he floated above everyone in the shape of a bomb.
Then Mulholland exploded, covering everyone in a little bit of water. "Ah! A bomb?" Kipo asked Mulholland, as Mulholland reformed in Kipo's hands. "What about everyone's Pokemon, why can't they help?" Kalena asked Mulholland.
"She's got a nectar bomb tied right over their- oh, Mulholland, you old fork and spoon, why tell when you can show?" Mulholland asked himself, before plugging into everyone's head with a water tentacle, with Javin and Yumyan avoiding the tentacle.
"You don't need to do this." Javin said to Mulholland. "Yeah. No. No, thank you! Cats and water don't really mi-." Yumyan said to Mulholland, but was interrupted by Mulholland putting his tentacles into Yumayn and Javin's ear, causing them to twitch at a fast pace, before falling to the ground.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, everyone was Greta on top of won tank arrows at the ready, with annoyed Wolf, Benson, Dave, and Aqua tied up on top of the tank across from Greta, and above them was a nectar bomb that was tired to four ropes that lead a cage where the Ultra Beasts were locked up.
"See? Bomb bait. And the Pokemon can't help because if the cage weight changes a little the bomb will break over everyone's head. So anyway to break them free- Boom! It's a classic "What-do-I-do with a hook, line and sinker"? But hey, that'll be the easy part." Mulholland said to Kipo.
"Easy? How is this the easy part?" Kipo asked Mulholland. "Wait let me guess, Emilia is waiting to ambush us once we show up?" Kalena asked Mulholland. "Correct." Mulholland said to Kalena, as he set things to play, letting Emilia walk to everyone, and shoot Kipo and Kalena, making them burst like they were made of water.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, Kipo and Kalena shot up first, holding a hand over their chest. "Blech! I hate water! No offense, Mulholland." Yumyan said to Mulholland, as everyone else got up.
"Honestly, I get it. Even I feel like it's too wet sometimes." Mulholland said to Yumyan, as he got on Yumyan's head, and made an umbrella. "Uh, Mulholland, what was that about?" Kipo asked Mulholland.
"Just keeping it real-tastic, Kipo. you wanted to know the plan, and she wanted you and your sister cured like yesterday, plus 13 years." Mulholland said to Kipo. "Tell us something we don't already know." Kalena said to Mulholland.
"Or something that you can do? Uh, can't you go into her brain and just like… uhh, turn on the nice switch?" Kipo asked Mulholland, as everyone stood up.
"From what Aqua told us, I don't think she had a nice… anything in her body." Kalena said to Kipo. "And sorry to say this Kipo-rooni, but I can't help. If the cure got in me and I got caught in a rainstorm, I could de-mute- well, everyone." Mulholland said to Kipo, as he made a dart hit him and he turned into a puddle that covered Yumyan's head.
Yumyan then shook his head, forcing Mulholland off him. "OK, that's terrifying. And a good reason why this is still on us. But I have no idea what to do." Kipo said to everyone.
"The good news is that even with Zane captured, I doubt Emilia will change her plan. She probably thinks she has all the cards, so we can think of a way to beat her." Kalena said to Kipo.
"Kalena's right. We know Emilia's plan. If Mulholland can walk us through it again, we'll find a way to beat her." Lio said to Kipo, as Mulholland moved to his left hand. "Whoa! What a fun way to use me!" Mulholland said to everyone.
"Don't even try getting back in here! There's a third vault now!" Zane said to everyone. "We don't care. We're done with you." Kalena said to Zane. "Yeah. I already got everything I need. Oh, wait!" Mulholland said to Zane, before going back in to get his hat.
"Keep an eye on him, Mandu." Lio said to Mandu, pulling out some chips. Mandu then saluted him, before Lio handed her the bag.
"And Druddigon, stay here with Mandu and keep an eye on him, and if he tries anything, feel free to punch him." Kalena said to Druddigon, as she let him out of his Pokeball.
Then everyone left for the main hall. "Hey, you dumb little bacon ball and spiky lizard. Is that for me?" Zane asked Mandu and Druddigon, wanting Mandu's chips. "Bring it here." Zane said to them, earning a flat look from them.
"That's it, bring it over." Zane said to them, thinking they were going to give them the chips. But that's when Druddigon grabbed the side to the cage and flipped it, making Zane go to the other side of the cage and forcing him upside down covering him in littler. Happy about this, Mandu shared her chips with Druddigon. All the while Zane groaned and got back up.
Back in the great hall, Kipo, Kalena, Virgo, Kommo-o, Lio, Jester, and Yumyan were on the floor with Mulholland in the middle of them, and Javin and Maria sitting at a table next to them.
"Everyone ready?" Kipo asked everyone. "I still think this isn't fair. I want a piece of Emilia as well. And I'm a much better fighter than Yumyan." Javin said to Kipo. "Too bad, you drew the short straw so Yumyan gets the action this time." Yumyan said to Javin.
"If you're done, we should get started, we're wasting time." Kalena said to everyone. "I'm ready if you are, Kipo Beepo and Kalena Sauna. You two are stuck with that one." Lio said to Kipo and Kalena, fist bumping Mulholland. "Let's get this brain-bath over with." Yumyan said to everyone, with the Pokemon letting out an agreed sound.
"OK, all we have to do is go into the no-win situation and win the situation. How hard can that be?" Kipo asked everyone. "Do you really want me to answer that?" Kalena asked Kipo. "No, not really." Kipo said to Kalena, as Mulholland plugged into everyone.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, the first plan was stealth, and while it started fine, one Kipo saw everyone endangered, she froze. And in that moment, Emilia snuck up on them and shot them, ending the first try.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, Kipo was freaking out, as they sat up. "I-I couldn't do anything. M-my best friends had bombs over their heads. Everything in me was screaming to go help them but I couldn't move!" Kipo said to everyone, as everyone looked at her.
"I'm not surprised. That's a pretty normal thing to feel with everything that's going on." Javin said to Kipo.
"Yeah, your mind was a jimble jamble of all kinds of feelings, but mostly fear." Mulholland said to Kipo, as he moved to the table, and grabbed a hot dog. "I'm stress-eating right now. Mmm, that's better." Mulholland said to Kipo, as put the hot dog in his stomach, making it dissolve.
"I'm a real foodie now that I eat." Mulholland said to everyone. "How do I un-jimble my jamble so I can save my friends?" Kipo asked everyone.
"Well you can't. Right now Emilia is using your protective nature against you. Until either you find a way to push it out of your mind, or your friends are safe. I'm afraid it's not going away." Javin said to Kipo.
"When I get afraid, I think of whatever's scaring me, and make it wear a silly hat." Lio said to Kipo, causing Mulholland to take off his hat. "I don't think a silly hat will help her father." Kalena said to Lio. "Then what do you suggest?" Kipo asked Kalena.
"Ignoring it. It might sound heartless. But if we want to save our friends, you have to turn off your heart, and focus. We can panic, grieve, or whatever, after whatever happens as a result of us trying to save them later." Kalena said to Kipo.
Kipo then looked at Javin. "Don't ask, I agree with Kalena. Turn off your heart and focus on what must be done." Javin said to Kipo. "Very helpful guys." Kipo said to Kalena and Javin.
"If you were a cat, I'd groom you to calm you down." Yumyan said to Kipo. "Yeah, no. But I appreciate it, Yumyan." Kipo said to Yumyan. "So, instead, I'll say this- even the fearless Yumyan Hammerpaw was afraid, once… until two brave girls gave me the push I needed to do better. And then, they literally pushed me out of a tree. Remember? You and your sister were those brave girls." Yumyan said to Kipo, making Kipo and Kalena smile from some good time.
"You're right. And as soon as you got down from that tree, you charged after my mom- who you didn't know was my mom- a-and neither did me or Kalena, so, we're good. Point is- you pushed your fear down, you got steamed, and you did something about it!" Kipo said to Yumyan. "Look out, Emilia, because I'm boiling!" Kipo said to herself.
"Yeah! That's kinda what I was saying." Yumyan said to Kipo. "I seriously doubt that." Javin said to Yumyan. "But, does that mean you want another simulation?" Mulholland asked Kipo. "Plug me in!" Kipo said to Mulholland, as Mulholland touched her ears.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, this time, Kipo rushed into Emilia's trap alone. "Hey! Emilia! Kipo owns you all!" Kipo said to Emilia, as she charged at Emilia. And while Kipo dodged the first two shots, Kipo bragged about it, and got hit with the third shot, ending the simulation.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, Kipo's eyes opened with a mean look on her face. "Let me guess, you rushed in and got taken out. And given how long you were in there, you lasted a second?" Kalena asked Kipo. "Again!" Kipo said to Mulholland
Back outside a couple Timberkittens were playing with some wood when the ground started to shake, scaring them.
"Ahoy! You, Scrumples and Snugglemuffin. Bring me those blocks." Scarlemagne said, as the Timberkittens noticed Song putting him down in front of them.
The Timberkittens said nothing, but did what was asked. "Here you go, Scarmanine." Snugglemuffin said to Scarlemagne, tossing the blocks at the feet of his cage.
"You may want to move." Scarlemagne said to the Timberkittens, as Song took a seat, causing the Timberkittens to hide behind Scarlemagne.
"Long ago, I, myself, struggled to communicate. So, you gave me letters, like these, to speak for me." Scarlemagne said to Song, pointing to the blocks. Song liked this idea, but she had a hard time picking up the blocks, holding the blocks, or even seeing what the letters were.
This caused Song to growl, and she smashed the blocks. "So, that's a non-starter." Scarlemagne said, trying to think of something else. Song then growled at Scarlemagne in frustration.
"You think you're the only one who's frustrated? I want that favor." Scarlemagne said to Song, sounding frustrated as well. Song then crossed her arms and looked away from Scarlemagne. "Let's try something else." Scarlemagne said to Song.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, they were trying another simulation. And this time when they snuck in, Kipo immediately left the group and tackled Emilia, causing Emilia to give the order to shoot the neactor bomb, causing the death of Wolf, Aqua, Dave, and Benson. Shocked by this, Emilia pulled out the cure from her pocket and hit Kipo, ending the simulation.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, everyone woke up. Again!" Kipo said to everyone, not giving them a second to breathe.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, Kipo's next plan was jumping down from the roof, alone, to everyone, dodging the first cure, and stopping Greta's arrow, but was hit by the second arrow.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, everyone sat up. "Kipo you can't ju-." Kalena said to Kipo, but was interrupted by Kipo. "Again!" Kipo said to everyone.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, Kipo's next plan was rushing Greta and using her as a shield, before attacking Emilia, but was taken out by the second shot.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, Kipo groaned in frustration, as Mulholland forced everyone to take a break. "This is just a soft reminder that we have a hard 37 minutes before Emilia's deadline." Mulholland said to everyone, looking like a plane pilot.
"She gets me every time!" Kipo said to everyone. "She wouldn't get you if you didn't go at it alone. You keep rushing off alone. Your plans are based on how you failed last time, making it so our plan never got past square one. I know things are bad, but you can't let your worry control you. If you want to save our friends we need a clear head and a well thought out plan, not just run in, screaming!" Kalena said to Kipo.
"I just. Why? Why does she hate me so much?" Kipo asked everyone. "It's not you she hates, Kipo. It's the future you represent. She believes humans are superior, period. Just by existing, you and Klanea prove that everything she believes is wrong." Lio said to Kipo.
"So, she's gonna ruin my life just to be right?" Kipo asked Lio. "It happens all the time. Especially with humans. Being right is like their number one thing." Mulholland said to Kipo.
"He's right. Even back in the Pokemon world, humans would rather do horrible things or ignore things just so they won't admit they're in the wrong." Kalena said to Kipo.
"Great so they're even more Emilia's out there." Kipo said to everyone. "I understand where you're coming from. Trust me, I've got plenty of anger towards her myself. But Emilia is clever and charging in isn't working. Kinda like Kalena said, we need to be smart." Lio said to Kipo.
"You're both right. Anger's not helping. I just need to ignore it." Kipo said to everyone, still sounding angry. "You don't sound like you're ignoring it." Kalena said to Kipo.
"Oopsie doopsies, we're down to 35 minutes." Mulholland said to everyone, causing Kipo to scream long and loudly.
"Everything's fine." Kipo said to everyone, as they all had their ears covered. "Sorry, but I don't believe you." Kalena said to Kipo. "Trust me I'm fine. Now, again." Kipo said to Kalena and Mulholland.
Meanwhile outside, Song and Scarlemagne where playing charade, because that was literally the only other idea they had. "Sounds like… Banana?" Scarlemagne asked Song.
"Oh, what rhymes with banana?" Scarlemagne asked himself. "Uh, havana? Diana? Are you sure it's not banana?" Scarlemagne asked Song.
Song shook her head no, and pointed at her head. "Oh! Uh, rhymes with "peeling"! Kneeling, ceiling, stealing? Song, you rascal, are you suggesting a heist?" Scarlemagne asked Song, making Song frown at him and shake her head no.
"Well, let's see, uhh- uf, dealing, healing, feeling-" Scarlemagne said to Song, but was interrupted by Song grunting excitedly. "Oh! Feeling!" Scarlemagne said, before scoffing. "Back to feelings? Ugh, what about them?" Scarlemagne asked Song.
Song then crossed her upper arms, pulled back her middle arms, and pushed out her bottom arms. "Ooh. OK, we're moving fast now." Scarlemange said to Song.
"Ooh! Ooh! The top one means "no"!" A Snugglemuffin said to Scarlemange from the top of Scarlemagne's cage with Scrumples playing with some wood, all the while Song grunt yes.
"I got that, Snugglemuffin! Just get me something to write on." Scarlemange said to Snugglemuffin, as Scrumples looked at the wood he had.
Mulholland's Mind
In Mulholland's mind, the team was going through another simulation, and this time Kipo was keeping her cool. "OK, Dad, you get the third cure dart. Yumyan, you're on Greta. Virgo, you help our friends. Jester and Kommo-o help the other Pokemon. And Kalena with me, while we just be straight up cool and ignore the rage and fear burning inside of you." Kipo said to everyone, as they split.
But while moving in, Kipo closed her eyes to ignore her emotions, causing her to ram into a steel pillar, knocking her out, and causing Emilia to shoot her, ending the simulation.
Timbercat Village
Back in reality, Kipo layed on the floor, as everyone else stood up. "I don't know what to do!" Kipo said to everyone, as Lio and Kalena held out a hand towards Kipo. "She's always one step ahead of me." Kipo said to everyone.
"She's not a step ahead of you. You keep making mistakes. Like that last time, you ran right into a pillar because you were focusing on keeping your anger and fear under control, instead of focusing on where you were going. We can beat Emilia, I know we can. But I need you to be yourself, then this ball of worry and anger." Kalena said to Kipo.
"Doesn't matter if I'm a ball of worry and anger or not, we're out of time." Kipo said to Kalena, causing Lio to pull Kipo and Kalena into a hug. "I'm sorry, Kipo, but that means it's toodles for old Mulhoodles." Mulholland said to Kipo, making a hobo bindle appear.
"W-wait, what? But you'll be here when we get back, right?" Kipo asked Mulholland, lowering herself to him. "This whole situation's getting kinda scary, my little space cadet. If Emilia's this serious about using the cure on us mutes, well, I don't think it's safe for anyone if I stick around." Mulholland said to Kipo.
"Kipo, he's right. It's safer for us all if he is far away from here until Emilia is dealt with." Kalena said to Kipo, squatting down and placing a hand on Kipo's shoulder. "Stay safe out there Mulholland." Kalena said to Mulholland, fists bumping him.
"It's been great getting to know you two. I'll miss you two. I've never had friends who aren't me." Mulholland said to Kipo, making Kipo hug him, crying a little.
Then Mulholland made a blob in water in the shape of a cloud, and started to leave. "No! I get it, but no!" Kipo said to Mulholland, making Mulholland stop and turn to her.
"You can do this, Kipo Squipo. You got everything you need, right here." Mulholland said to Kipo, taping Kipo's heart, then taking Kipo's tears and turn in into a hat.
"Almost forgot my hat. Now, I'll always have a piece of you with me." Mulholland said to Kipo, before leaving. Once Mulholland was gone, Kipo whipped the rest of her tears away.
"We should get moving. Javin you incharge while we're gone." Kalena said to Javin. "Sure, whatever. Not like I have a choice." Javin said to Kalena, as the team started to leave the great hall.
"Aww, and just when I started to like water." Yumyan said to everyone. "You're joking right?" Kalena asked Yumyan. "Yeah, I was. Water's still gross." Yumyan said to Kalena. "So, what do we do now?" Yumyan asked everyone. "We don't have a choice. We just have to go." Kipo said to Yumyan.
But that's when Scarlemagne was placed in front of everyone, surprising everyone. "Your mother would like a word." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, making everyone look at Song on their left side. Song then grunted, like she was talking.
"I'll make this fast. Your mother asked me to give you a message, and I, selflessly, agreed to help." Scarlemagne said to Kipo. "You did?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne. "I doubt you didn't want something brother." Kalena said to Scarlemagne.
"You know me too well Kalena. OK, here we go-." Scarlemagne said to everyone, as he pulled out a piece of wood. "Don't let Emilia use your feelings against you, honey. Use her feelings against her." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, reading the words on the wood.
"You have no idea how many charades it took to get that down." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, as he pulled out another piece of wood. "Great! What does that mean?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne.
"Emilia is proud and arrogant. Let her think she's won. And then crush her." Scarlemagne said to Kipo, with a scart look on his face, and clenching a fist, while Song punched two of her fists into her other hand.
"Ooh, that's good. High five!" Lio said to Song, making Song lower her hand and high five with Song. Then Song let Kipo and Kalena hug her fingers.
"Thanks, Mom." Kipo said to Song. "And thank you too Brother." Kalena said to Song and Scarlemagne, making them both smile.
"I think I know what to do now." Kipo said to everyone. "So what's the plan?" Kalena asked Kipo, as Kipo turned to Scarlemagne. "Can I borrow those pieces of wood for luck?" Kipo asked Scarlemagne. This confused Scarlemagne, as he looked at the pieces of wood.
Las Vasta Streets
Soon the team was outside the water treatment facility. "OK, as Mulholland would say, this time is real-tastic. Aww, I miss him already." Kipo said to everyone. "Focus sis." Kalena said to Kipo.
"Kipo, no matter what happens in there, I'm proud of you. I know I've said it before, but it's a Dad thing. Like how sometimes instead of saying bye, I say "Hasta la pasta"." Lio said to Kipo.
"If we're all done with the sweet words we should get in there." Kalena said to everyone, as she transformed into her Ultra form. "See you on the other side." Kipo said to everyone, as she turned on her eyes, ear, tail, and paws.
Inside the rest of the gang looked at Greta with an annoyed look on their faces. "You don't know who you're up against. Kipo and Kalena will find a way to beat you." Wolf said to Greta. "Shut up! Or you'll go boom." Greta said to Wolf, pointing her crossbow at them.
"Don't bother trying to talk to her, any sentence with more than three words confuses her. Plus she is just a puppet, following Emilia's words with no mind of their own. Might as well be talking to a rock." Aqua said to Wolf.
"That's not true!" Greta said to Aqua. "isn't it, name one time you did something that wasn't something Emilia wanted or ordered you to do." Aqua said to Greta, making Greta think, and think hard enough where you could see smoke if this was a cartoon.
But Greta snapped back to reality, when a door opened, and Kipo and Kalena entered the place alone. "Emilia!" Kipo yelled into the building, getting everyone's attention. "Where here you coward get out here!" Kalena yelled into the building.
"No, Kipo!" Wolf yelled at Kipo. "Kalena, get out of here! Leave us!" Aqua yelled at Kalena. "Not a chance, we're a tribe. We stick together no matter what comes our way." Kalena said to Aqua. "We surrender! Where's Emilia?" Kipo asked Greta.
"Right here." Emilia said to Kipo, as she came out of hiding and fired the first cure into Kipo's chest, and before Kalena could react, load the second cure and shot it into Kalena's chest.
"KIPO! KALENA!" Benson, and Dave said in worry, as Kipo and Kalena got on their knees. Then Kipo and Kalena turned back into their human forms. "KIPO! KALENA!" Wolf and Aqua, freaking out, as they watch Kipo and Kalena hug themselves.
"Thirteen years trying to track you two down. By bye, Jaguar Kipo and Dragon Kalena." Emilia said to everyone, as she walked to them. "Enough with your ego, we had a deal." Kalena said to Emilia, as she and Kipo raised their heads. "Yeah, you got what you wanted. Now give us back our friends." Kipo said to Emilia.
Emilia scoffed at this. "No-no-no-no-no. No one's going free." Emilia said to Kipo and Kalena. "What?" Kipo asked Emilia. "That wasn't the deal." Kalena said to Emilia. "You're all coming back with me to the ship." Emilia said to everyone.
"You lied!" Why? What do you want with us?" Kipo asked Emilia. "You're gonna tell everyone you didn't want to be a mute anymore. So you two came to me, asking for help." Emilia said to Kipo and Kalena, as Benson and Dave noticed Yumyan running down below them, with Jester, Virgo, and Kommo-o moving closer to them.
"And what, you'll just cure me as soon as we get there, huh?" Dave asked Emilia, sounding sarcastic. "Yes, that's exactly right." Emilia said to Dave, not noticing Lio stealing the third cure shot from her pocket. "I was being sarcastic!" Dave said to Emilia.
"So you just want us to come with you and lie to everyone?" Wolf said to Emilia. "I shouldn't be surprised, all you do is use people for your own goals. You don't care about anyone." Aqua said to Emilia.
"I'm just trying to get all the burrow humans to see things my way. The end justifies the means. And at the end of the day, I have it all. Your people, your friends, your DNA and energy. Thanks for that, by the way." Emilia said to Kipo and Kalena.
"You're pathetic." Kalena said to Emilia, getting Emilia's attention. "What was that?" Emilia asked Kalena.
"I said you're pathetic. You say the ends justify the means. But the truth is that you can't do anything yourself. You need our parents to figure out how to cure the mutes. You needed our DNA and energy to make the cure. You only have the burrow humans because we saved them and you got to them while we stopped Scarlemagne. And now, because no one wants to fight for your ideas, you want us to lie so people will follow you into battle. In the end you can't do anything yourself, and everything you've done is because you stole it from someone else. You could only control our mother by hoarding our brother's paramons. You could have only killed the Cheetah Boxers by stealing Aqua invention and twisting it. You only have the Burrow humans because of us saving them and you reaching them before we could. And you only have the cure because you found parts of us that we left lying around. For 13 years you could do nothing but send our mother to cause trouble. In the end you need us, for without us, you're nothing but just another world conquering failure." Kalena said to Emilia, angering Emilia.
"Listen here brat. I'm going to be the one that takes the surface, and I'll do what is necessary for that to happen." Emilia said to Kalena, not noticing Kipo stealing her nectar arrows.
"Except there's a small problem with that." Kalena said to Emilia. "And that is?" Emilia asked Kalena. "You angered a dragon." Kalena said to Emilia, before summoning her claws on left hand, and then slashing up, leaving a shallow cut on Emilia's right check, and forcing Emilia back.
"And haven't you read the stories, unless you have real skills, it's not smart to face a dragon of any shape." Kalena said to Emilia, as she turned into her Ultra form, surprising Emilia.
"HOW I CURED YOU!?" Emilia asked Kalena in frustration, while holding a hand over her bleeding right check.
That's when Kipo and Kalena took the dart off them, and pulled out the wood they heard under their clothes. "Because we lied, too." Kipo said to Emilia, turning on her jaguar ears and eye.
"Yeah, like we would let you cure us. We like who we are. And there's nothing you can do to change that." Kalean said to Emilia, as she and Kipo smirked at her.
In a panic Emilia reached for the third cure, but was surprised when she found it wasn't there. "Too busy gloating to notice their dad, huh?" Lio asked Emilia from the bottom floor, getting Emilia's attention.
"Greta! Fire!" Emilia said to Greta. "Huh? Oh, yeah!" Greta said, finally understanding what was going on, and fired an arrow at everyone. "Yumyan owns you all!" Yumyan said, as he attacked Greta from behind, knocking Greta down, and causing Greta to fire her arrow.
But before the arrow could hit anything, Jester came out of cover and let out a steam of fire that turned the arrow to ash. This caused Wolf, Aqua, Dave, and Benson to let out a sigh of relief.
Then as Lio climbed up the tank to help untie everyone, Jester used Psychic to remove the nectar bomb from everyone's head, and tossed it out the window causing an explosion.
And with the nectar bomb taken care of, Virgo used her poison to break the rops on the cages letting them fall to the floor, and allowing Kommo-o to catch the cage before it crashed into the floor, and rip the cage open for everyone to escape after putting the cage down.
Meanwhile Greta was doing her best to keep away from Yumyan, while the two of them ran around in circles on the top of the tank, slipping a little. Seeing all this Emilia reached for nectar arrows, only to find they were gone.
"Looking for these?" Kipo asked Emilia, as she held up the nectar arrows, getting Emilia's attention. Then Emilia watched as Kipo threw the arrows out the door, causing an explosion in the distance.
"It's over Emilia. You're out of tricks. Surrender and we'll treat you well." Kalena said to Emilia. "Like I would ever surrender to mutes like you!" Emilia said to Kalena, as she rushed Kalena and Kipo.
"Dragon Claw!" Kalena said, as she encased all, but the claw holding the cure, in purple energy. Kalena then tried to slash Emilia, but Emilia slid on the floor dodging her claw.
And while Emilia tried to swipe the cure from her, Kalena noticed what Emilia was doing, and raised her arm, stopping Emilia from taking the cure, and tried to smash her tail with her tail encased in teal scaly energy.
But Emilia dodged Kalena's tail, and did a kick into Kipo's gut as she got up. The kick into her got, caused Kipo to open the wood and the cure, with the cure going over the edge.
Emilia saw that and went after it. But once she landed on the floor, she was met by one of Jester's heads that he tossed at her, causing it to explode, sending Emilia flying into the wall, and losing sight of the cure.
"Kommo-o." Kommo-o said, as she turned her tail silver, and tried to slam it into Emilia. But Emilia rolled forward dodging Kommo-o's tail, and started to run, looking for the cure.
"Naganadel!" Virgo said, as she fired a wave of purple sludge at Emilia, that washed Emilia away. When the wave passed, Emilia was laying on the floor.
And as Emili started to get up, Lady rushed to her side, and Stomped into Emilia's back, forcing her back onto the floor, and causing cracks to appearing in the floor, all the while Emilia was forcing her groaning of pain to be quiet, not wanting to give everyone the satisfaction of hearing her in pain.
Then Lady kicked Emilia into one of the tanks, leaving a dent in that tank. "Kartana!" Star said, as he fired a furry of sharp leaves at Emilia, hitting Emilia, but missing anything important, but cutting up her clothes.
"Xurkitree." Groove said as he fired a web of electricity at Emilia, hoping to catch her and zap her.
But Emilia recovered enough strength to roll out of the way of the webbing.
"Nihilego." Cloak said, as she made many copies of herself surrounding Emilia. But while looking at all the copies of Cloak, Emilia noticed the cure and ran towards it, with the Cloak copies chasing her.
"Greta! we're leaving!" Emilia said to Greta, as she kept running from all of Cloak's copies, and while running, she quickly grabbed the cure Kipo dropped.
Greta heard Emilia, but was still fighting Yumyan, and even causing both of them to fall to the floor.
While running to a tunnel in the back of the place, Emilia fired the cure at Kipo. "KIPO!" Kalena said, as she reached out her upper right arm in front of Kipo, protecting Kipo. Then the cure then hit Kalena's arm, but something unexpected happened.
The needle of the cure's dart bent when it hit Kalena's scaly skin, not even scratching her skin. This caused the cure to fall down towards the floor, with Kalena catching it with her lower right arm.
This surprised everyone, while Kalena looked at her skin and the cures in her lower hands. "I guess my skin is too tough for simple darts to work on me." Kalena said to everyone.
"To bad Emilia, it looks like your little darts won't work on me. Plus for someone who talks big, you're still just a normal human, and against the powers of Pokemon, there's nothing you can do to stop us. Allow me to demonstrate." Kalena said to Emilia, as she lowered herself so her front hands were on the floor, with her lower arms holding the cure away from her, and she raised her tail and pointed it at Emilia.
"Scale Shot!" Kalena said, as she started to shoot sharp purple scales from her tail at Emilia, causing Emilia to take cover and hide behind some rubble while Kalena kept shooting scales at her.
"Kalena, how did you know the darts couldn't get through your skin?" Kipo asked Kalena. "I didn't. But you were about to get hit, and I have to do something." Kalena said to Kipo.
"WHAT?! Why would you do that? If your skin wasn't so tough, you could have been cured! What were you thinking?" Kipo asked Kalena. "I was thinking about how we need your Mega form a lot more than my little Ultra form." Kalena said to Kipo.
"That's not true. Your Ultra form is a big help to me, and we need to work together to reach our full potential." Kipo said to Kalena, making Kalena stop her attack, and get up and turn to Kipo.
"Can we talk about this later. When we're not dealing with the witch that's been causing trouble for our family for 13 years." Kalena said to Kipo, pointing to the rubble Emilia was hiding behind, only for the rubble to fall apart, revealing Emilia was gone. "Where did she go?!" Kalena asked everyone.
"Owh! My eye!" Yumyan said, making everyone turn to see Greta give Yumyan a black eye before running up to Emilia, and the two of them ran into a tunnel.
"No!" Kipo yelled as she ran after them. "Kipo wait, they could have rigged it." Kalena said to Kipo, as Lio and gang came down from the tank.
"With what?" Kipo asked Kalena, as she looked back at Kalena, but still ran into the tunnel, only to be met by an explosion that covered Emilia and Greta's escape, and sent Kipo flying back into Kalena's free arms. "Necater, apparently." Kalena said to Kipo, as Kipo rolled her eyes.
Once the dust cleared, Kipo looked at the destroyed tunnel with an angry look on her face, not noticing everyone moving to her and Kalena.
"It's OK. We're all safe." Wolf said to Kipo, making her notice that everyone was okay. This calmed her down, and once Kalena let her go, Kipo turned back to normal and hugged Wolf.
Timbercat Village
Back in the Village, Scarlemagne was playing a piano that he had Song give him in exchange for helping her. And the sound of Scarlemagne playing a gentle tune caused everyone in the village to get lost in wonder or relax.
Even Mandu and Druddigon were feeling nicer thanks to the song, and gave Zane a chip that he ate.
"Ahh, the sweet sound of anything but banjo." Scarlemage said to Song, as she sat next to him, a happy look on both their faces.
Las Vasta Streets
Back with the others, they were in a very good mode. "Kipo! Kalena! That was amazing!" Benson said to Kipo and Kalena. "Told you two you had it under control." Lio said to Kipo and Kalena.
"Oh, I knew." Wolf said to everyone. "But we were a little worried when you showed up and surrendered." Aqua said to everyone. "We weren't that scared. If we were, I would have molted." Dave said to Aqua. "Are you sure you were just too scared to molt instead of not being scared enough?" Aqua asked Dave, rudding Dave' head with a silly look on her face.
"Thanks everyone. But what are we going to do about these things?" Kalena asked Lio, holding out the two cure darts she had, and Lio pulling out the one he had.
"Well first we need to find something to test it on to see if she really did make a cure. Then we'll need to talk to everyone about this. Hopefully they'll actually listen to us." Aqua said to everyone.
"If they don't. You can count on Yumyan Hammerpaws to make them listen." Yumyan said to everyone. "Thank Yumyan." Kipo said to Yumyan, before Yumyan pulled everyone into a big hug, making everyone laugh in joy, because this was the first time they felt like they truly won a battle in their fight with Emilia.
But they were in such a good mood that they forgot the elephant in the room, just how much more of the cure did Emilia have left, and could they stop her before she could use any of it.
