"Come on, Hayato! You can do better than that!" Mirio yelled as he and Hayato were sparring together in an empty room in Nighteye's agency. Hayato gritted his teeth and pushed his newfound power to the limit he could take to try swinging a kick at Mirio. But the white haired boy's kick simply passed through the older student's head and the blond boy delivered a hard punch to Hayato's gut, swiftly knocking the air out of him. "Oops, I overdid it."

"No...no, Togata...that was fine." Hayato winced as he held his stomach and stood up, breathing heavily as his overuse of One for All started to take a toll on his body with his legs shaking and his muscles aching from pain.

"I don't think it's good you push yourself so much." Mirio said as he walked over and placed a hand on Hayato's shoulder. "Come on, I'll treat you to a soda." Mirio said as he helped the younger boy walk out of the room and to the breakroom down the hall. Once they were inside, Mirio set the boy down on a chair and walked over to a vending machine near the entrance. "What are you in the mood for? Something fruity? Some basic cola?"

"I want to keep training."

"Don't think they have that flavor."

"I'm serious."

"Hi Serious, I'm Mirio!" Mirio yelled as he picked up two cans from the vending machine and walked over, handing one of them to his junior. He sat down across from him and opened the drink, taking a big gulp of the refreshing cola he had bought. "So what's up with you? Normally when you and I have sparring matches: you're a lot more controlled and focused. But all of a sudden you're so aggressive and wanting me to beat you into dust." Hayato sighed as he knew he couldn't hide what was going on from Mirio. Since he had first arrived at Nighteye's after the Sports Festival, he and Mirio had been spending a lot of time training together. While he wouldn't place Mirio near the level of most of his classmates, he certainly looked up to his senior since he knew most of his phasing tricks, he picked up from him.

"Well...my grandpa was kidnapped by the League of Villains." Hayato said as he got ready to open up his soda. But as if on cue, Mirio spit out the soda he currently had in his mouth into the younger student's face.

"What?!"

"Thanks...now I'm gonna clean my up." Hayato said wiping his face, standing up and walking over to the sink on the far side of the room. He turned on the faucet and filled his hands with water, splashing it on to begin removing the drink from it.

"Aren't you worried?"

"I'm losing sleep every night because of it."

"I figured you would've been losing it because of your friend." Mirio said as Hayato closed the faucet and rested his head on his arm.

"So it looks like we're going to be allowed to participate in Work Studies!" Ochaco yelled as she, Hayato, Izuku, and Momo sat in Hayato's room after class. Aizawa had announced to their class earlier that day that the staff had voted on whether or not the First Year students would participate in Work Studies now that they had received their Provisional Licenses. With a majority vote, the faculty agreed to allow the students to participate under the condition they would only go to heroes who had good records with students working in their agencies. So now Class 1-A was going over the offers they had received following the Sports Festival, seeing who they were able to go to, and seeing if those offers were still available.

"So I guess that means Gunhead and Uwabami are out of the question for you two?" Izuku asked as he turned to look at the two girls in the room.

"Yeah...not to sell Gunhead short but he doesn't really have a good record with students." Ochaco said sheepishly rubbing the back of her head.

"And Uwabami is a little bit more invested in her modeling and acting career, so I would be fine going to someone else this time." Momo answered while Hayato simply scrolled through his phone. "And you?"

"I already talked to All Might and Mr. Aizawa about it, they said I can stay with Sir. It's not like I really plan on going to anyone else this time around anyway."

"You and Nighteye are really close now, aren't you?" Ochaco noted with a smile on her face. Hayato responded with a smile of his own before looking at Izuku.

"Any clue as for you?"

"I mean I have a bunch of offers, but none of them really call out to me."

"Why don't you ask Gran Torino?" Ochaco asked leaving the other three in the room silent. "Was it something I said?"

"I think my grandpa is a little tied up at the moment to mentor him right now." Hayato said before feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket.

"Then why doesn't he go with you to Nighteye's?" Momo suggested making Izuku's eyes light up.

"Yeah! Talk to Sir Nighteye and see if-"

"No." Hayato's immediate response surprised the other three in the room as the white-haired boy kept his focus on his phone.

"I mean if he did such a good job with you then-" Ochaco sheepishly raised a finger to try convincing Hayato, only for him to shake his head.

"No way."

"Why? Wouldn't interning under him together be beneficial for both of you?" Momo asked as Hayato locked his phone and crossed his arms.

"Beneficial? There's nothing that would benefit from him joining me under Nighteye. You're my best friend man, but you're not a good match with Sir." Hayato said looking at Izuku who looked down from disappointment.

"What makes you so sure about that if you haven't even asked?" Ochaco asked jumping to her boyfriend's defense.

"Ochaco, the only thing that they share in common is that Sir and Izuku have in common is that both of them adore All Might. I'm not saying no to be mean to him or to be selfish, but Sir's just not the right kind of guy for you to learn under right now."

"Why?"

"Because you still need to learn to properly learn how to control your other Quirk. Sir doesn't know everything about our Quirk, and the secret can't be out in the open with Centipeder, Bubble Girl, and Togata there. When you have things under control, I'll talk to him. But for now: try going to someone that'll help you out with that."

"He never told me who he decided to go to after that day. But I still see him every day and it didn't seem like he was mad at me at all for it." Hayato explained as he sat down to continue drinking the soda Mirio had gotten him.

"I see. Sir was expecting him to ask, but I'm still surprised you told him no. Speaking of which, why did you?" Mirio asked as he took a sip of his and Hayato looked up at the ceiling to try finding an excuse for it.

"Well, Sir's a little rough around the edges and Izuku's still a novice when it comes to the kind of things Sir expects a hero to be."

"So you think they'd clash."

"I think Sir would do his best to work Izuku to the bone and Izuku would be focused on that "limited edition" poster of his that he has in his office." Hayato joked as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He took out his phone and looked to see a message from Momo.

"Speaking of focused on other things: I heard you're with that Yaoyorozu girl from your class." Mirio said making Hayato nod and point at his phone as he typed. "Man you're lucky we're not like Shiketsu, relationships are taboo over there."

"Something about distracting from the work at hand, but I think it just adds to the high school experience." Hayato said in a slight chuckle as he finished replying and saw a message had come in from Mira as well.

"How long have you been with her?"

"Since the U.A. Sports Festival." Hayato responded as he began to read and reply to his little sister.

"That wasn't very long after the school year began...I don't get it, did you just like her and ask her out immediately?" Mirio asked raising an eyebrow.

"It wasn't like that."

"Then what was it like?" Mirio asked before quickly stopping himself. "It's fine, I shouldn't be asking so many questions. That's more Nejire's kind of thing."

"It's fine, I've had to clarify it a couple times already. But basically she and I met on the first day of school, and I dunno but I just felt this spark the moment I saw her and she spoke to me. Then during our first Battle Simulation: she and I got paired together to be villains and that was when I got to see first hand how smart and strategic she could be. Then soon after that was the USJ incident, and I missed school that day because I found out my other grandpa was sick and that was the day I lost him. It was a real punch to the gut that day because my friends, and Shinso, were attacked and then that same afternoon my grandpa passed away. Momo was the first one who talked to me and let me know what happened. Then when they heard my grandpa passed away, Momo had gotten the entire class together for a cheering up video, which in retrospect was a little over the top...but Momo was already doing her best for me and she and I were barely friends. Then came the training before the Sports Festival and my teenage angst. I was working my absolute ass off to practice with Izuku every single day, but when I wasn't I was usually studying because my grades can't keep up when I'm training."

"So what? She was helping you study?"

"More like secretly tutoring me for two weeks." Hayato sheepishly admitted rubbing the back of his head. "But those two weeks were more than enough for us to get to know each other better and then came the Sports Festival and now here we are."

"Man, Nejire would've passed out from how cute that sounded." Mirio laughed making Hayato chuckle. "But, what do you plan on doing about your grandpa?"

"I don't know. My Provisional License restricts me to only working in certain situations and I can't do anything without Sir's approval as his intern. My little sister's going crazy, my mom is worried to death, and my dad is barely keeping the two of them together. So that leaves me to get my grandpa back home, safe and sound."

"Sir's got something big planned, but once we're done with that: I promise he and I will do whatever it takes to help you get him back." Mirio said giving the boy a reassuring thumbs up.

"Yeah, thanks Togata." Hayato said giving him a thumbs up as well.

"We're so high up." Izuku noted as he and Fumikage stood together on the top of a radio tower, both of them holding onto the metal flooring as they looked at the city below them.

"Yes...I'm doing my best to not let the vertigo get to me." Fumikage gulped as he held on tighter to the floor.

"Same here." Izuku said before a group of red feathers fell around them.

"Oh come on guys, you get used to it after a while." Hawks said as he landed behind the two.

"Hawks."

"Why are we up here?"

"Because you two are my new proteges. Plus, you two are a few exceptions I wanted to speak to up here." Hawks said as he removed his yellow goggles, placing them on the top of his head as he took in the view as well.

"Exceptions?"

"We'll get to that eventually, but first I want you guys to tell me what you see here."

"The city."

"Right, but look closely." Hawks said making the two focus at the sight below them. "You're not restricted to a block's worth of vision, from up here you can see several different areas at once."

"Yes, I can see multiple sides from around the buildings as well as several streets and alleys." Fumikage said as Hawks put his hands in his jacket pockets.

"That's the benefit of being able to fly, you're a lot more free and able to cover a lot more than being stuck to the ground." Hawks explained as Izuku and Fumikage stood up.

"Then why is Midoriya here? No offense to you, but you can't fly and the best I can do is grapple and swing around with Dark Shadow."

"Well, I've seen him in action and he's got insane agility. It's almost as if you were actually flying in some way." Hawks said turning to Izuku who quickly shook his head.

"M-M-Me fly?! That's absurd!"

"I said almost, you really are one weird dude Deku." Hawks said laughing and giving Izuku a thumbs up. "I don't really care much about training the next generation, but you two stick with me and I promise I'll do my best to help you guys reach new heights, figuratively and literally."

"Yes sir!" Izuku and Fumikage yelled bowing to the number two hero.
