Hey there.

It has been a long time since I have written any kind of story. When I first wrote here, I was wanting to explore whether or not I was capable of doing so, or at least capable enough that someone else could enjoy. Looking back I appreciated everyone who took a look at my story involving Krieg in Bloodborne. But with life, things change as well as priorities. And you move on to something else, or maybe you hit a low and cannot come back to things you once did. In the end it was many of these things as to why I stopped writing.

But I went back and looked at Baptism of Blood and thought "Even though I cannot finish the story, I could at least give folks who have read it where the story was going and how it would have ended." So I decided to do just that and tell you how Baptism of Blood was going to end.

NOTE: This is of course before Borderlands 3 was a thing and how characters from that game changed. So please keep that in mind.

*Minds in Flux: After the defeat of Rom, Krieg would return to the gate leading to Yahar'Gul. He would see the Amygdala above and would try to strike, only for the personas to lose control of their body. It would have been discovered that with the Blood Moon revealed, the "veil" between the dream realm and the waking world would degrade. As Sane Krieg was in control in the dream realm, and Psycho Krieg control in the waking, this occurrence causes them to struggle and switch back and forth chaotically. They would be sent into the Nightmare Frontier and slay Amygdala in order to escape.

*Lost Secrets: This would have Krieg travel to the Upper Cathedral Ward and Castle Cainhurst, as well as encountering folks along the way such as Eileen the Crow. He would get a better understanding to the Healing Church's inner workings as well as Slay the Emissary and Ebrietas. At Cainhurst he would defeat Martyr Logarius, and aid Alfred before realizing what his plans were. He would go on and kill him at the castle. Krieg would check in with all those he came across in the beginning of the story, only to learn there is no hope for anyone in Yharnam.

*Madness Consumed: As he travels back through the city, Krieg would come across Iosefka's Clinic, and the end result would have been him claiming the one third umbilical cord from her. Some unknown force compels the Psycho persona to consume the cord despite the Sane's pleas. This would later have the Sane persona to mercy kill Arianna and claim her cord, consuming it as well.

*Nightmare on Earth: Krieg is taken into the Hunter's Nightmare where he learns the curse placed on Byrgenwerth and it's descendants. He would encounter Lady Maria and immediately duel her in a full chapter battle dedicated to them. It would be where Krieg tries to reach out to her only for Maria not having any recognition of his words. Krieg goes into Badass Psycho and ends her. He returns to the Hunter's Dream to speak with the Doll to see she was alright. Afterwards Krieg would continue in the Hunter's Nightmare, defeat the Orphan of Kos, and slay the Nightmare. A scene would pan to The Doll who remembers Krieg's words and has a glimpse of the fight between him and Maria, showing that a part of her is still connected. Suddenly her face becomes one of absolute terror and horror, but suddenly returns to normal, not knowing what had happened in that moment.

*Nightmare Village: This would be Krieg travelling through The Unseen Village, still dealing with the mind swapping between the personas. They would uncover The School of Mensis' work and would be compelled to stop the madness around them. Both Personas agreeing things have gone too far. All the while something has been watching them every step of the way, since the moment they arrived in this world.

*Nightmare Slain: Krieg would make his way through the Nightmare of Mensis. He would battle with Micolash, belittle the man for all he has done. I did plan on re editing this section after Borderlands 3 when the DLC showing Krieg's backstory came up. Where he would start hallucinate that he is back in the lab he was experimented on. Handsome Jack would make a brief appearance and treat everyone around him in his "Jack-centric" behavior. Ultimately Krieg reaches the top and kills Mergo's Wet Nurse, and consuming a third umbilical cord.

*No Gods or Masters: With the last task done, Krieg meets with Gehrman. The old man offers the Vault Hunter freedom, but both personas refuse, wanting to save Gehrman and the Doll and maybe find a way home. Gehrman being resolute, only believes that his way is the only way. The two would duel under the pale moonlight as Krieg laments and begs for the madness to stop, only for him having no choice but to slay the first hunter. The Moon Presence would descend and the battle between the two would commence. Krieg would defeat the Great One, and suddenly start to convulse. Consuming the umbilical cords will cause the Psycho to become a great one. Out of defiance over everything he has gone through, Krieg would rip his torso open and tear out the cords from his stomach. The Doll will try to save Krieg from dying, only for the two of them to be pulled out of the Hunter's Dream by the thing that has been watching. The Hunter's Dream vanishes to nothing.

*Vault Hunter: Krieg finds himself in a realm that is incomprehensible to describe. Lights colors, smells, and taste would fluctuate. He would then see the Chapel Dweller. The Dweller would then transform into Gehrman, followed by other faces. This shapeshifter would reveal itself as Oedon. The Formless Great One that exist through the words of those it is connected to. Oedon desires to travel to the realm where Krieg came from in order to begin somewhere new. Krieg refuses the omnipresent being. Oedon would show he has the Doll and Maria's soul in it's possession, merges the two, and offers her to the Psycho in exchange for being his avatar. Krieg refuses again and a fight would ensue. Krieg would be beaten back to the point of death. The two voices argue back and forth in their mind as Oedon uses forms of others to beat back the psycho. Oedon then turns into Krieg before landing a critical blow. It comes to the point where Sane and Psycho Krieg agree they cannot beat this thing as they are. The two merge their minds into one being. Useing the power and skills they acquired in their journey, along with their Badass Psycho ability evolving into a new form, they would beat back Oedon, but not outright kill it. Krieg would free The Doll, now calling herself Maria, and try to find a way to escape the realm. Krieg uses his mind to open the way to the portal he went through in the beginning of the story. Just as Oedon is about to claim them, Maria sacrifices herself and pushes Krieg through the portal. The last thing he sees is her ending her life and Oedon in the form of Krieg screaming in rage as he makes for the portal, but fails.

*Was I Dreaming: Krieg is back in the portal Lilith and Maya sent him through. He suddenly sees visions of the future, his time with Maya, their goodbye, her death, and something far greater, but the his mind cannot handle the information. Krieg would then find himself back in Sanctuary, learning that he was gone for a month. His mind would return to what it was, with the 2 personas trying to process how they split again. His friends would comfort him, Maya would have a one on one talk. Krieg not remembering all the visions would have unease about the future. The final scene would be Krieg working on his buzz axe on a desk. Next to him is a old and dirty porcelain doll named Maria. The finishing touches on his axe would show the symbol of the Hunters.

So yeah. Since these were the main points of the remaining story, I will understand if folks have questions as to the how and why of things. But these were the thoughts I had from over 5 years ago. But I hope this gives some closure to Baptism of Blood. I love Borderlands. I love Bloodborne. Hell, games in general. I appreciate everyone who has followed this story and simply enjoyed it. Maybe one day I will come back and write a new story. I've had random ideas in my head about a Fallout and Warcraft story involving a Super Mutant, but hey sometimes one's mind just throws darts at a board and see where things go. But I will leave it here.

Take care!
