Danger of the Sorta Friendly Creature
"Wait, you're saying this belongs to Amity? Does the librarian even knows about this?" Frida asked as she looks around.
"I think so, he is the boss of the whole library and probably gave her this room just to have some privacy." Edric guessed, not really sure himself.
"Mittens has gotten too... full of herself. She keeps tattling on us when we cut class." Edric started expressing how he and Emira dislike Amity for thinking she's better than them and more mature than them.
"Yeah, go on." Manny nodded, willing to listen to them.
"She needs to learn not to mess with people like that. So, we're going to find her diary." Emira revealed the real reason why they wanted to come to the library late at night.
"And then post the pages all around school for everyone to see." Edric added.
The Blight twins laugh together thinking it's going to be a good lesson for Amity to not take things seriously all the time and everyone to see that she's not all that, but Luz didn't seem to like the sound of that plan for their little sister.
"What? Isn't that taking it a bit too far?" Luz asked concern.
"No. See, we're her family. It's tough love. She needs to learn to lighten up." Emira proclaimed.
"This maybe a family thing between you three, but I don't think it's cool. Even I wouldn't dare myself to invade into someone's diary." Frida showed a little restraint of herself.
"Come on, it's just a little payback." Emira tried to convince her that it's going to be okay.
"Frida is right. I had sworn on my mother's grave that I would never stoop myself low to use someone's deepest secrets from their diaries for blackmail or humiliation that could ruin them." Manny brought in his late mom into this.
"Are you… backing down from us?" Emira asked in surprise.
"Maybe I am. You have a problem with that?" Manny asked back, looking a little serious, but just enough for the twins to see before he turns his back on them.
The twins were surprised by this, but that didn't stop them as they got to work on finding that diary.
"Yeah! So, h-how about we leave this place now because I-I don't see any diaries in here. Nope, nothin'. Let's just leave." Luz backed away toward the exit to leave the secret room, but she stops when she saw something on the shelf that she did not expect to see.
"Wait, are those... Good Witch Azura books one through four! You get these on the Boiling Isles? So majestic." Luz squealed in delight to see that Amity have the book series of Good Witch Azura.
"Guess she also love the same mushy book thing as you do." Frida noticed this too.
"Hold on, this book doesn't look like the other books, nor does it really belong in a library." Frida noticed one book that is different than the others.
"Is this cover hand-drawn?" Luz saw how the cover of the book looked like it was made by hand too.
"Hold on, Edric and Emira said they were looking for Amity's diary, right?" Frida asked, Luz nod as she remembered them saying that.
"Then maybe this is it." Frida whispered, thinking this might be Amity's diary.
Luz gasps but quickly covers her mouth so the twins don't hear her, then Frida decides to open it just to make sure it is Amity's diary and opens causing a small version of Amity to appear from the book.
"I saw that... human girl again. I may have over" Frida quickly closed the book, getting the idea that this is the diary.
Manny saw the girls have found the book the twins need to humiliate Amity, so he needs to keep them occupied until they put it back.
"Look, all I'm saying is that there are better ways for you to teach your sister a lesson being doing something stupid like exposing her dairy to everyone." Manny said.
"Dude, what is up with you? You were all fun with us moments ago out in the library, but now you're being a… fun-blocker." Emira wasn't sure if she should be upset about it or find Manny to be hot.
"I'm just being respectful for Amity's privacy. I may have done a lot of things just for some laughs, but I'd never bring myself to destroy something that for her thoughts alone if means dishonorable my Rivera family. Knowing when to take action and when to walk away." Manny said strongly, walking to the end of Amity's hidden room.
Emira didn't know why, but she suddenly felt her heart beating fast for this guy and her thoughts make him look hotter than before.
"Oh, it all makes sense now. How could I have been so blinded… That you come from a family of cowards." Edric insulted.
Manny's eyes widen and his ears twitched upon hearing that Word from Edric.
Luz also heard the word right after Frida put Amity's diary back in the shelf, her face grew worry to fear knowing what Edric has done meaning it could spell doom for them.
"Oh no, Edric said the forbidden word!" Luz exclaimed.
"Forbidden word?" Frida was confused.
"We have to get Edric to take it back or else!" Luz shook Frida in worry.
"Luz! What are you getting so shit out for?" Frida asked, then notices that Manny looks quiet and still but not in a good way.
"What did you just say?" Manny asked.
"Edric! Take what you said to him back! Please, it's for your own good!" Luz begged.
"Take what back? You mean about how Manny has shown us his true." Edric smiled a little.
"I'm serious, you have to stop!" Luz said.
"That he is nothing but a coward, from a family of cowards!" Edric grinned.
"No! He said it three times now!" Luz feared.
Suddenly, a green flaming punch, moving faster than anyone could react, hit Edric right in the face and sending him flying right out of Amity's hidden room and crashed into a bookshelf.
"Ow, what the boiling fuck?" Edric was confused about what had just happened. And he groans in serious pain from his nose.
Manny walks out of the room when Amity shows up at the scene upon hearing the crashing sound and sees her big brother down and one of the humans looking down at him with anger in his eyes, and she thought it was hot.
"Dude, I think you broke my nose." Edric exclaimed.
"That's not the only thing that's going to be broken." Manny cracked his knuckles.
"What is going on here?" Amity asked.
"Amity!" Luz was shocked to see Amity here.
"Luz! Frida and Emira!" Amity was surprised to see them here too, and they just came out of her hidden room too.
"Hey there, Mitten." Emira greeted her little sister.
"Yeah, hello to Amity. Now this fucker must pay for the sin of insult upon my family!" Manny yelled viciously with both hands bursting into green flames and his eyes glowing green too.
Edric tries to beg Manny not to hurt him again, but his words were deaf to the boy with the scar over his eye as he lands another punch on him and one strong right hook that pushes Edric away sliding on the shelf for a bit, knocking down some books.
Edric can feel his body hurt from that punch and saw Manny coming at him again, he quickly moves out of the way for the punch to hit the floor and quickly grabs a book.
"Let see how you like dealing with a three-headed lion!" Edric opened a book to let out the beast to fight Manny but instead came out a cute little rabbit creature with a red sharp horn and bat wings.
"Shit, wrong book." Edric cursed.
Manny crushed the demon bunny creature making it poof away and begins attacking Edric while he does his best to run away, he even uses his illusion magic to trick him into following a fake, but he has somehow kept on finding the real one without falling for the fakes which really scared him.
"What's going on with Manny?" Amity asked.
"Okay, the Rivera family have always been prideful of themselves, especially when it comes to their strong bond and loyalty to the family to care for each other. And they all have this thing when someone insults them in a way like a certain word." Luz began to explain about the Rivera family she knows.
"Like coward?" Emira asked.
"Yes! If anyone were to insult the family, especially when being called a coward then all Hell breaks loose, they attack anyone who committed the Forbidden word to the Rivera family." Luz said.
They heard Edric screaming again and looking up to see that he has been punched into the air by an uppercut and sent away even further with a big green fireball crashing into a bookshelf.
"I should also mention that they tend to take things too much like destroying everything around them just to get the guy." Luz mentioned panicking, seeing the green fire burning some of the books.
"He's going to destroy the library! We need to save the books!" Amity tried to get some of the books.
"Forget the books!" Emira pulled Amity away from the burning books.
"I may not like you sometimes, but there is no way in the Titan's name I would ever let you get hurt by fire." Emira stated strongly, which surprises Amity.
"Okay, now I'm seeing how serious this is. We need to find Manny and calm him down." Frida said.
But before they could do anything, they heard heavy footsteps coming to them and they turn to the direction seeing what appeared to be Otabin but looks different with features that Manny added in his book except he's bigger with muscles and a little monstrous.
"Otabin?" Amity was surprised to see him out and looking so different.
"With claws and fangs and breaking bones, I found a friend to make my own." Otabin grabbed Amity with his hand.
"Hey! If you want Amity, then you're gonna have to take us too!" Frida said seriously.
"More friends to come, sounds to be embrace from a mum." Otabin grabbed the other three girls then walks to find one big book to sew them in as they struggle to escape.
"Manny! Help!" Luz screamed, hoping for Manny to hear her cry for help.
(With Manny and Edric)
Manny let out a scream that almost sounds like a tiger roar as he strikes Edric with some flaming punches and one slash to knock him down.
"Had enough?" Manny asked, growling.
"Yes! I'm sorry, really sorry that I called you a coward!" Edric apologized, but Manny glares down at him harder. "I'm sorry that I called your family cowards! I promise for as long as I live, I will never respect you and your family ever again! I swear on the Titan!"
Manny kept on glaring at him for a little while longer seeing that this guy has learned his lesson about not messing with the Rivera family, so he calms down and the green fire from his hands gone out and his eyes stopped glowing.
"Good. You seem like a cool guy to hang out, I would hate to do away with you like that." Manny smiled.
"Yeah, thanks…" Edric said nervously.
But the boys jumped in shock when they heard the girls screaming.
"Was that from a prank you left behind?" Manny asked Edric.
"No." Edric shook his head.
"Then we need to go see what's going on and save the girls!" Manny grabbed Edric's hand, and they ran off to find the girls.
(With the Girls)
They are slammed against a very big book, and they gasp when they see Otabin holding a big needle with thread from a big ball of thread, then he starts sewing the girls into the book and he start with Amity.
"Huh? Why are you doing this? I've been reading you since I was a kid. I know you're not like this. Someone changed you." Amity pleaded with the book character to stop.
"But friends are what I've always sought. And now a friend my claws have caught." Otabin said.
"Did one of you do this to Otabin?" Amity asked the girls with a glare.
"That one was Manny's doing. But all he did was gave him extra ears, a fluffer tail, and razor-sharp claws to fend off against bullies. I don't think he would add Otabin being tall and having muscles that makes him look like a monster." Emira was confused about those traits.
"Yeah… That was on me, I thought I could try making him look cool and cute at the same time. Guess it didn't turn out well." Frida confessed.
Otabin's needle was about to reach Amity's head to sew her in, but he stops when he heard a yell.
"Hey!" Manny yelled, getting the creature's attention.
"You better let those girls go or else!" Manny demanded.
"I would do it if I were you. He means business." Edric nodded.
"Making friends, taking friends, never be without my friends." Otabin said, his way of saying that he will not let them go.
"You fiend. You can't rhyme friends with friends." Luz pointed out.
"Looks like we're doing this the hard way then." Manny readied himself for a fight.
"Edric, you go help free the girls and figure out a way to calm this fictional character." Manny ordered before charging at Otabin.
Otabin roars with his claws out to clash against Manny's fiery fists as he dodges the claws to make sure he doesn't get cut into pieces, then going in to land some hits using Otabin's large size to his advantage along with the slow speed department.
Manny jumps to punch the guy in the face, but Otabin reacted fast by throwing one hand down to smack him face-first against the floor and stomp on his back.
"You squirm and fight, and scream and shout. But friendship always will win out." Otabin proclaimed.
"The friendship you are doing is not right, and if you still can't see that then I'll make you with my might!" Manny managed to push himself up on his knees and grab his foot making the green fire burn Otabin off.
Edric quickly got to work by freeing the girls from the book with Amity having her arm being third-dimensional again.
"We need to make Otabin himself again." Amity said.
"We'll just find his book and erase the drawing." Edric said simply.
"You mean the one over there next to Otabin?" Luz pointed at the big book close to Otabin.
"Come on!" Amity charged forward with the others following her.
"Fierce that is your flame, but that will not stop the friendship I shall claim!" Otabin swung his claws at Manny who dodges.
Otabin saw them coming and tries to attack them again, Edric and Emira use their illusion magic to make themselves bigger to scare him just enough for Amity to reach the book, but she realizes something important.
"Shoot! I don't have a pencil!" Amity said.
"Manny! Do you still have the pencil when you drew those new features for Otabin?" Luz asked.
"I think so!" Manny reached into his pocket and grabbed the pencil then toss it to Amity.
"Manny must fix Otabin to the way he was before." Amity wrote the words down, then a giant eraser appeared as she catches it.
"Manny, use that to erase the drawings!" Luz called out, helping Amity toss the eraser to Manny.
Frida helped by flying around Otabin to keep him distracted for Manny to catch the eraser and erase the drawings on Otabin, making it normal again and the character shrinks back into his true form groaning in pain and Amity picks him up.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." Otabin apologized.
"Hey, it's okay. We're still friends." Amity hugged the little guy.
Luz and Manny smile upon seeing this before she closes the book making Otabin disappear, then they get to work with cleaning up the fire done by Manny then everyone went outside.
"Well, that's a time in the library I will never forget." Edric commented.
"Thanks for helping us clean up the mess." Frida thanked.
"It was the least we can do after you help saved our sister." Emira smiled.
"Even so, I prefer this never happen." Amity was about to walk away.
"Wait. Would you wanna borrow this? I noticed you only had up to four." Luz held the 5th book of Azura that Amity was surprised.
"And if you like, we could still be friends." Frida offered.
"Thank you. And I'll think about it." Amity accepted the book and went home with her siblings.
"Come on, let see if my grandma shows up to pick up my uncles." Frida said as the three friends walk home together.

Reading can be fun, but one must always be careful with what they do with the book like drawing some extra features in the book to make things dangerous. And remember to NEVER call a Rivera a "coward" otherwise you'll get a beating like Edric, but at least Amity seems to be coming around.
