The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "You'd be late for your own funeral."

There wasn't currently a mission, but the Expendables were all gathered together in the hanger. The seven of them (plus Tool) were sitting around the sitting room, drinking and conversing about different things and just being together. Jacoba was leaning into Gunnar's side (they'd just started dating and had barely left each other's side since) as he went back and forth with Caesar about something that she wasn't paying attention to.

All of a sudden, she heard Tool over the rest of the talking. "Well, I think that the Amazon's quirks may be the most predictable."

Jacoba sat up and glared at the tattoo artist. "And what is that supposed to mean exactly?"

Tool shrugged as he leaned back in his chair. "Come on, Amazon. We all know that if we are meeting somewhere, you aren't going to show up on time. You are always late!"

The Amazon narrowed her eyes at the tattoo artist before looking around to glare at the rest of the team, who were barely holding in their chuckles at this point. She crossed her arms. "I'm not that bad."

Caesar scoffed, causing Jacoba's narrowed-eyed glare to turn on him. "No offense, woman, but you'd be late for your own funeral."

The rest of the team couldn't contain their laughter at this point, causing Jacoba to pout a little before pointing over at Caesar. "You do know that the only reason that I'm not lunging to strangle you right now is because Gunnar has his arm securely around my waist, right?"

"I'm not worried."

"Well, maybe you should be, idiot. Besides, I think that your quirk is just plain weird."

Caesar gave her a confused look. "What quirk? I don't have a quirk."

Jacoba smirked before turning towards Toll Road. "Hey, Toll, what was that speech he gave you about his bullets and knife and weapons?"

Toll Road scoffed and smirked as the heavy weapons specialist's eyes widened. "Oh, it was something along the lines of let me introduce you to my girlfriend and her sister."

As Caesar started yelling at his partner about accuracy, Jacoba smirked wider and leaned back into Gunnar again. It certainly was nice to not have all eyes on her right now. Even though they were probably right. She was chronically late. Oh, well.
