Jake was on his way to see his avatar for the first time. He felt both excited and a bit anxious, probably because the avatar was made from the DNA of his now dead brother Tom. Although they shared the same genes it was still going to be a bit strange to see it. Jake didn't get much headspace to think about emotions now though, since the yapper Norm Spellman walking next to him just wouldn't stop talking.

"The avatars are going to be so big now, didn't know that, huh?" Norm said, Jake had the feeling that Norm was making fun of his lack of education, but he was probably rightfully doing so as Jake had absolutely no idea what Norm was saying. "The na'vi are exactly like humans except they are big, blue and don't like haircuts, didn't know that, huh?"

As they neared the area where their avatars were stored Jake was relieved to see Norm go up and torment the scientists with his yapping instead. As Jake kept rolling, a scientist with black, curly hair came up to him.

"Hello, you must be Jake, i'm Max and i'm..," Jake forgot to stop his wheelchair in time and accidentally crashed into the scientist, going over his body, just to keep rolling in high speed through the hallway, crashing into the wall at the dead end.

Looking around the corridor Jake was pleased to see nobody was there to witness the incident. Hoping to get away unnoticed he kept strolling towards the room with the avatars, whenever somebody would pass him by he would do some calm, innocent whistlig.

Grace was in the avatar room waiting to meet up with the two new avatar drivers. Her palms were sweating and she was practicing her introduction phrase she had come up with the day before. She was awkwardly standing in the door opening, staring into the void.

Finally arrived at the right place Jake was taken by surprise when he saw a scientist standing in the doorframe. She was just standing there like an NPC, she seemed to be zoned out. The scientist was sort of blocking the entire entrance, Jake cleared his throat a few times to grab her attention but it didn't seem to be working.

Next thing he knew the yapper Norm Spellman was back, at least it caused the scientist in the doorframe to snap back into reality.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, you're Dr. Grace Augustine!," Norm said with excitement, letting out a suppressed scream at the end.

"Greetings. I am doctor Grace Augustine," the scientist said in a monotone voice, her expression remained emotionless.

Without saying a word Dr. Augustine turned around and walked into the room towards what Jake assumed was the avatar storage. Her movements were extremely awkward as her arms seemed to almost be glued to her sides. Norm and Jake followed her into the room and were met by the sight of two large tanks containing their avatars.

Jake went up to view his avatar, Norm gave his own avatar a quick glance but seemed more interested in Jakes avatar. Jake noticed how Norm stared intensely and wouldn't stop licking and biting his lips. Jake thought Norm must be fascinated with the na'vi species or something.

Before the yapper could start yapping again they all heard something from the hallway outside. A scientist ran into the room. "Max is dead!," the scientist yelled out, immeadiately running of to the next room to spread the news.

Jakes eyes darted around the room to see if anyone was looking at him, luckily they seemed unaware of what he had done. To be extra sure nobody would blame him Jake put his head in his hands and made crying noises. He carefully looked through the gaps between his fingers but didn't see anyone else crying, maybe the crying was a bit over the top.

All of a sudden he saw through the door opening how people were marching through the corridor. Were they singing?

"Ding dong, the witch is dead!," oh god, was that the song from wizard of oz? That movie is so bad you'd have to search for anything worse.

When Jake though things couldn't get any worse he could see how Max's corpes was being pushed around on a stretcher through the marching band. Everybody in the avatar room seemed so happy about the death that everyone, including the avatars, ran into the hallway and started singing and dancing in the parade.

Jake began having second thoughts about this job.
