Prompt: "Are you sober?"
"I'm moderately functional."
"I'll take that as a no."
"Hey brother!"
Thorn held his phone away from his head as Jacoba continued to talk loudly on her end of the phone. He had actually been sleeping at his apartment (for once) when his phone had begun to ring. Now, he looked at the time on his phone and held back a groan. It was only one-thirty in the morning! Slowly moving the phone back towards his ear, he could still hear Jacoba talking about something or other at about a mile a minute. Rolling his eyes, he sat up more in bed and cleared his throat.
"Jacoba!" He paused to ensure that she had stopped yammering and was actually listening to him. "Why are you calling me at one-thirty in the morning?"
The line was silent for a moment or two before Thorn heard her sigh. "Well, for one, I thought that you'd still be awake, though it seems as though I was wrong about that. For two, umm, Lacey, Luna, and I took a taxi to the bar last night."
Thorn groaned again as he threw off his covers and began grabbing some clothes to change into. "Say no more, sister. Which bar did you guys end up at?"
After Jacoba rattled off the name of the bar (and the address) and they had rung off, Thorn sighed and shook his head. What was he going to do with those three?
~~~Picking Up the Girls~~~Picking Up the Girls~~~Picking Up the Girls~~~
"Thorn!"
The man in question shook his head at the group coming towards him. Lacey and Luna were stumbling on either side of Jacoba, who seemed to be the steadiest (and most amused) of the three. Smirking at them, he went over to Luna and started to maneuver her over to (and into) his car. "Are any of you even sober?"
Jacoba shrugged as she continued struggling with Lacey. "Those two, definitely not. I'm moderately functional, however."
Thorn rolled his eyes as he went over to help Jacoba with Lacey, having already deposited Luna into the backseat of his car. He muttered under his breath on their way back to the car, "I'll take that as a no."
Jacoba gave him a droll stare as she shut the door behind her best friend. "I heard that, brother. Personally, I'm just surprised that we made it through the night without anyone hitting on us."
Thorn scoffed as he walked around to the driver's side and opened his door. "Why don't you get in and then you can regale me with the tales of tonight's adventures?"
She laughed and smiled before getting in. "You're on."
