Lucas and Brooke are inside Brooke's house talking to Brooke's uncle Paul with Marcus Warner, the Police Inspector also present.

Paul: The assignment in Seattle wasn't easy, we're back now.

Marcus: And boy are we glad to be back. I don't know if I can handle another rainy day.

Paul: So Nathan told me that you and Brooke are going through a rough patch. What's the deal, Lucas?

Lucas: She was late on her period, she could be pregnant.

Paul: Looks like I came back at the right time, then. Sir, drug store's still open, right?

Marcus: Yep.

Paul: Lucas, you get her a pregnancy test, we'll keep an eye on things here.

Lucas: Already did.

Paul: (to Brooke) You. Bathroom. Now. Take the test. (after Brooke leaves) If she's pregnant, Lucas, a whole lot of new problems are going to pop up. Oh, and by the way, the army has taken over some Colorado small town so some of those residents are moving to Tree Hill.

Lucas: Know the name of the town?

Paul: Not yet, but we'll know eventually. (sees Brooke come out) How long till we know?

Brooke: (nervously) It says three minutes.

Paul: Copy, as I just told Lucas, I'm now telling you, if this is positive, things will change, then there's the army taking over some small town in Colorado, this is important because some of those people are moving here. It's going to stir things up. PCHS might even get some new students, who knows? (phone rings) Davis. (pauses) What? You sure? Thanks, goodbye. (hangs up) We now know the small town's name, Everwood, Colorado.

In Everwood

Outside the Brown house

Ephram: This army thing is serious. Dad, moving to a new town is going to be hard on everyone.

Andy: Leaving this place won't be easy.

Ephram: That's true, but just as we were used to being here, the army swooped in and changed everything. It's like they're tearing our lives apart.

Andy: Delia's not gonna notice that we're leaving. She'll get used to it.

Outside the Abbott house

Harold: Places closed up so fast here, it's eerie. It's like everyone's just waiting for something to happen.

Bright: Army took over, so something did happen, dad.

Amy: Nobody's happy about this, but we've got to stay strong for each other. As well as Andy and Ephram.

Harold: Bright, remember Amy will be there a day earlier than we will. Amy, be safe there while we're gone.

Amy nods.

In Tree Hill

Paul: It's been 3 minutes, Brooke. What does the test say?

Brooke: (holds up the pregnancy test with a shaking hand) It's... it's positive.

Paul: Oh, man. (sighs) Well, Lucas, congratulations. You're going to be a father. Watch out for Dan, he might make this public and watch out especially for some of those Everwood folks. Now, sometimes teen pregnancies bring people farther apart, but I think it's going to bring you guys closer. Just remember, you're not alone in this.

Lucas: We'll go to the doctor tomorrow in the city. I'll take you.

Brooke: I'll take myself to the doctor. I don't need you to hold my hand, Lucas.

Lucas: Brooke. I'm just as scared as you are. But I want to help. Please. Just, trust me.

Brooke: Yeah, cause that worked out so well for me the last time.

Paul: She has a point, Lucas, she did tell me you almost slept with Peyton again. OK, we'll get some sleep, tomorrow, Brooke goes to the doctor. Keep in mind, Lucas also grew up with that Abbott girl, Amy. So, she'll be coming here.

Lucas: (shakes head) Oh, man. I didn't even think about that. See all of you tomorrow.

Marcus: He's not the only one that's leaving this house right now. (stands up) It is not negotiable, Lucas, I'm coming with you.

Lucas nods as he and Marcus leave.

At Haley's house, Lucas, Marcus and Haley are talking.

Haley: What, Brooke's pregnant?

Lucas: I'm shocked myself.

Marcus: That's not the only thing that he's shocked about. Something he calls the three musketeers are going back together.

Haley: That would not happen, she's not moving back. Amy's not moving here. That's ridiculous.

Lucas: Actually, she is. The whole Everwood situation is forcing them to move here.

Haley: What situation?

Marcus: The army's taken over Everwood. It's some kind of government operation. The town's residents are being relocated.

Haley: Lucas is gonna be torn.

Marcus: How?

Lucas: When Amy left, she and I told each other that we loved each other and if we would be in the same place, we would begin a relationship. But one problem, a little thing called Brooke is carrying my baby.

Marcus: Don't let Paul hear that, Lucas. This situation is going to get messier than a kid's playdate with finger paint.

Tony: (entering) Don't let him hear what?

Tony Lewis is a cop Paul works with.

Marcus: As you know, the army's taken over Everwood, and some of the residents are being moved to Tree Hill. Now, what we don't want Paul to hear is that Lucas and Amy told each other before she left town that they loved each other and would pursue a relationship if they ever ended up in the same place again.

Tony: (to Lucas) You would be in trouble if Paul or Amy found out about that, especially Amy.

Lucas: And Brooke's pregnant.

Tony: What?! Amy's not going to take this well.

Haley: And Amy will accuse you of cheating, Lucas. You can't let that happen.

Marcus: Eventually Paul will find out. The town isn't that big, and when the moving folks arrive, the rumor mill is going to be working overtime.

Tony: Yeah, and Brooke is going to the clinic tomorrow per Paul's orders.

The following day at the clinic.

Lucas: So, what happened?

Brooke: The nurse said they'd call me in a few hours with the results, and then she asked me about the father. (Dan is driving by and sees her car and the two of them outside the clinic)

Lucas: What did you say?

Brooke: I told her the sorry bro-ho kicked my ass to the curb.

Paul: That's obviously a lie, if that did happen, i'd be stealing said person's soul. But Lucas is the father, oh, and Dan just drove by and is probably putting two and two together.

Lucas: Damn!

Later outside

Lucas: Brooke, hold on. Still no news?

Brooke: Did I come find you?

Lucas: Well, where are you going?

Brooke: Away from you.

Lucas: Hey, come on, you can't cut me out of this. I'm just as worried as you are.

Brooke: Oh, really? Or are you just worried that having a kid might deflate your market value?

Lucas: That's not it.

Brooke: Oh, that's right you're not on the market anymore. You're a one woman kind of guy. Speaking of which, how is my former best friend?

Lucas: Peyton has nothing to do with this, okay?

Brooke: Not yet. Maybe you can pull a Dan Scott and knock her up too.

Lucas: Brooke!

Brooke: Or maybe then you can move on to random bar-sluts. Oh wait you've already done that. Better be careful, Danny Jr., never know how many kids you're going to end up with.

Lucas: Oh yeah, that's real nice, Brooke. And by the way. It's not like I'm the only guy you've ever slept with.

Brooke: What's your point?

Lucas: How do I even know it's mine? (her phone rings)

Brooke: It's the doctor. (picks up) Hello? Yeah, this is Brooke. Okay. Thank you. (She hangs up) Trust me, it's yours.

In Paul's office

Paul: OK, Lucas, what's going on?

Lucas: Paul, Brooke's shutting me out.

Paul: Anything else?

Lucas: Dan talked to me, told me she should have an abortion.

Paul: That's a soul I don't want to be stealing anytime soon, Lucas. (sighs) Look, I got more news for you, Tony came to me yesterday, talked to Brooke. Told her about something, like a pact you and Amy had before she left town.

Lucas: You overheard?

Paul: Yes, I did. And I've got to say, Lucas, you're playing with fire. Telling the other you love each other and would start a relationship if you were in the same place again? That's not something you say to just anyone. Besides, you are gonna be breaking that little promise when Amy finds out. And she will.

Later, Lucas is talking to his mom with Paul, Keith and Marcus also present.

Lucas: What are you worried about?

Karen: I'm a mother, Lucas. I worry about everything. What are you doing up?

Lucas: There's something I have to tell you. You should sit.

Karen: Okay. I think I'll stand.

Lucas: This is going to hurt you, mom. And I'm sorry.

Karen: What happened?

Lucas: Brooke's pregnant. (She slaps him)

Karen: Oh my God, Lucas, I'm sorry.

Lucas: I guess I deserved that. (he walks towards his room)

Karen: Lucas. (They go into his room. They are both crying) Look, I didn't mean it, Lucas.

Lucas: I'm pretty sure you did.

Karen: No, I didn't! It's just that, do you understand? This is exactly what I didn't want for you. Have I been talking to my self the last few years? You have so much left to do in life. So does Brooke. (She hugs him) Oh, God, you're both just too young for this.

Paul: Agreed, and it gets even worse, guess who Lucas saw today on his way to my office?

Karen: Who?

Lucas: Dan, he thinks Brooke should have an abortion.

Karen: He came to you?

Lucas: I'll deny next time.

Keith: Smart.

Paul: Wise choice.

Lucas: Also, Mom, Amy's back.

Karen: The girl who you told you loved her before she left? That Amy?

Lucas: Yes. I'm in trouble if she finds out.

Paul: (seeing someone, whispering to Marcus) Right time?

Marcus: (nods) Yep. (takes out his gun) Hands up!

Paul: (gun out) Police! Freeze! Hands up, down on the floor!

Woman: Sorry guys, you can put your guns away. Hi, Luke.

Lucas: You're not her.

Woman: What?

Lucas: (as Paul and Marcus put their guns back up) You're not Amy and I would know because I grew up with her.

Woman: If I'm not Amy, then who is?

Amy: (from entrance) I am. Luke, this girl tried to steal my identity, didn't she.

Paul: Said woman's real name is Charlotte Hudson. Charlotte Hudson, you're under arrest for identity theft.
